1. கர்த்தரைத் துதித்து, அவருடைய நாமத்தைப் பிரஸ்தாபமாக்குங்கள், அவருடைய செய்கைகளை ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே பிரசித்தப்படுத்துங்கள்.

1. Alleluia! Give thanks to Yahweh, call on his name, proclaim his deeds to the peoples!

2. அவரைப் பாடி, அவரைக் கீர்த்தனம்பண்ணுங்கள்; அவருடைய அதிசயங்களையெல்லாம் தியானித்துப் பேசுங்கள்.

2. Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!

3. அவருடைய பரிசுத்த நாமத்தைக் குறித்து மேன்மைபாராட்டுங்கள்; கர்த்தரைத் தேடுகிறவர்களின் இருதயம் மகிழ்வதாக.

3. Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!

4. கர்த்தரையும் அவர் வல்லமையையும் நாடுங்கள்; அவர் சமுகத்தை நித்தமும் தேடுங்கள்.

4. Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!

5. அவருடைய தாசனாகிய ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததியே! அவரால் தெரிந்து கொள்ளப்பட்டவர்களாகிய யாக்கோபின் புத்திரரே!

5. Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders, the judgements he has spoken.

6. அவர் செய்த அதிசயங்களையும், அவருடைய அற்புதங்களையும், அவர் வாக்கின் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புகளையும் நினைவுகூருங்கள்.

6. Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!

7. அவரே நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர், அவருடைய நியாயத்தீர்ப்புகள் பூமியெங்கும் விளங்கும்.

7. He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.

8. ஆயிரந்தலைமுறைக்கென்று அவர் கட்டளையிட்ட வாக்கையும், ஆபிரகாமோடே அவர் பண்ணின உடன்படிக்கையையும்,

8. He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,

9. அவர் ஈசாக்குக்கு இட்ட ஆணையையும் என்றென்றைக்கும் நினைத்திருக்கிறார்.

9. which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.

10. அதை யாக்கோபுக்குப் பிரமாணமாகவும், இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு நித்தியஉடன்படிக்கையாகவும் உறுதிப்படுத்தி:

10. He established it as a statute for Jacob, an everlasting covenant with Israel,

11. உங்கள் சுதந்தரபாகமான கானான் தேசத்தை உனக்குத் தருவேன் என்றார்.

11. saying, 'To you I give a land, Canaan, your allotted birthright.'

12. அக்காலத்தில் அவர்கள் கொஞ்சத் தொகைக்குட்பட்ட சொற்ப ஜனங்களும் பரதேசிகளுமாயிருந்தார்கள்.

12. When they were insignificant in numbers, a handful of strangers in the land,

13. அவர்கள் ஒரு ஜனத்தைவிட்டு மறு ஜனத்தண்டைக்கும், ஒரு ராஜ்யத்தைவிட்டு மறு தேசத்தாரண்டைக்கும் போனார்கள்.

13. wandering from country to country, from one kingdom and nation to another,

14. அவர்களை ஒடுக்கும்படி ஒருவருக்கும் இடங்கொடாமல், அவர்கள் நிமித்தம் ராஜாக்களைக் கடிந்து கொண்டு:

14. he allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he instructed kings,

15. நான் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினவர்களை நீங்கள் தொடாமலும், என்னுடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்குத் தீங்கு செய்யாமலும் இருங்கள் என்றார்.

15. 'Do not touch my anointed ones, to my prophets you may do no harm.'

16. He called down famine on the land, he took away their food supply;

17. அவர்களுக்கு முன்னாலே ஒரு புருஷனை அனுப்பினார்; யோசேப்பு சிறையாக விற்கப்பட்டான்.

17. he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.

18. அவன் கால்களை விலங்குபோட்டு ஒடுக்கினார்கள்; அவன் பிராணன் இரும்பில் அடைபட்டிருந்தது.

18. So his feet were weighed down with shackles, his neck was put in irons.

19. கர்த்தர் சொன்ன வார்த்தை நிறைவேறுமளவும் அவருடைய வசனம் அவனைப் புடமிட்டது.

19. In due time his prophecy was fulfilled, the word of Yahweh proved him true.

20. The king sent orders to release him, the ruler of nations set him free;

21. he put him in charge of his household, the ruler of all he possessed,

22. to instruct his princes as he saw fit, to teach his counsellors wisdom.

23. அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் எகிப்திற்கு வந்தான்; யாக்கோபு காமின் தேசத்திலே பரதேசியாயிருந்தான்.

23. Then Israel migrated to Egypt, Jacob settled in the country of Ham.

24. அவர் தம்முடைய ஜனங்களை மிகவும் பலுகப்பண்ணி, அவர்களுடைய சத்துருக்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் அவர்களைப் பலவான்களாக்கினார்.

24. He made his people increase in numbers, he gave them more strength than their enemies,

25. தம்முடைய ஜனங்களைப் பகைக்கவும், தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரை வஞ்சனையாய் நடத்தவும், அவர்களுடைய இருதயத்தை மாற்றினார்.

25. whose heart he turned to hate his own people, to double-cross his servants.

26. தம்முடைய தாசனாகிய மோசேயையும் தாம் தெரிந்துகொண்ட ஆரோனையும் அனுப்பினார்.

26. He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, the man of his choice.

27. இவர்கள் அவர்களுக்குள் அவருடைய அடையாளங்களையும், காமின் தேசத்திலே அற்புதங்களையும் செய்தார்கள்.

27. They worked there the wonders he commanded, marvels in the country of Ham.

28. அவர் இருளை அனுப்பி, அந்தகாரத்தை உண்டாக்கினார்; அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளை எதிர்ப்பாரில்லை.

28. Darkness he sent, and darkness fell, but that nation defied his orders.

29. அவர்களுடைய தண்ணீர்களை இரத்தமாக மாற்றி, அவர்களுடைய மச்சங்களைச் சாகப்பண்ணினார்.

29. He turned their rivers to blood, and killed all the fish in them.

30. Their country was overrun with frogs, even in the royal apartments;

31. அவர் கட்டளையிட, அவர்களுடைய எல்லைகளிலெங்கும் வண்டுகளும் பேன்களும் வந்தது.

31. at his word came flies, and mosquitoes throughout the country.

32. அவர்களுடைய மழைகளைக் கல்மழையாக்கி, அவர்களுடைய தேசத்திலே ஜூவாலிக்கிற அக்கினியை வரப்பண்ணினார்.

32. He gave them hail as their rain, flames of fire in their land;

33. அவர்களுடைய திராட்சச் செடிகளையும் அத்திமரங்களையும் அழித்து, அவர்களுடைய எல்லைகளிலுள்ள மரங்களையும் முறித்தார்.

33. he blasted their vine and their fig tree, and shattered the trees of the country.

34. அவர் கட்டளையிட, எண்ணிமுடியாத வெட்டுக்கிளிகளும் பச்சைப்புழுக்களும் வந்து,

34. At his word came locusts, hoppers beyond all counting;

35. அவர்களுடைய தேசத்திலுள்ள சகல பூண்டுகளையும் அரித்து, அவர்களுடைய நிலத்தின் கனியைத் தின்றுபோட்டது.

35. they devoured every green thing in the land, devoured all the produce of the soil.

36. அவர்களுடைய தேசத்திலே தலைச்சன்கள் அனைத்தையும், அவர்களுடைய பெலனில் முதற்பெலனான யாவரையும் சங்கரித்தார்.

36. He struck all the first-born in their land, the flower of all their manhood;

37. அப்பொழுது அவர்களை வெள்ளியோடும் பொன்னோடும் புறப்படப்பண்ணினார்; அவர்கள் கோத்திரங்களில் பலவீனப்பட்டவன் ஒருவனும் இருந்ததில்லை.

37. he led Israel out with silver and gold; in their tribes there was none who stumbled.

38. எகிப்தியர் அவர்களுக்குப் பயந்ததினால், அவர்கள் புறப்பட்டபோது மகிழ்ந்தார்கள்.

38. Egypt was glad at their leaving, for terror of Israel had seized them.

40. They asked and he brought them quails, food from heaven to their hearts' content;

41. கன்மலையைத் திறந்தார், தண்ணீர்கள் புறப்பட்டு, வறண்ட வெளிகளில் ஆறாய் ஓடிற்று.

41. he opened a rock, the waters gushed out, and flowed in dry ground as a river.

42. அவர் தம்முடைய பரிசுத்த வாக்குத்தத்தத்தையும், தம்முடைய தாசனாகிய ஆபிரகாமையும் நினைத்து,

42. Faithful to his sacred promise, given to his servant Abraham,

43. தம்முடைய ஜனத்தைக் களிப்போடும், தாம் தெரிந்துகொண்டவர்களைக் கெம்பீர சத்தத்தோடும் புறப்படப்பண்ணி,

43. he led out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy.

44. தமது கட்டளைகளைக் காத்து நடக்கும்படிக்கும், தமது நியாயப்பிரமாணங்களைக் கைக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கும்,

44. He gave them the territories of nations, they reaped the fruit of other people's labours,

45. அவர்களுக்குப் புறஜாதிகளுடைய தேசங்களைக் கொடுத்தார்; அந்நிய ஜனங்களுடைய பிரயாசத்தின் பலனைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொண்டார்கள். அல்லேலூயா.

45. on condition that they kept his statutes, and remained obedient to his laws.
