1. கள்ளத்தராசு கர்த்தருக்கு அருவருப்பானது; சுமுத்திரையான நிறைகல்லோ அவருக்குப் பிரியம்.

1. The LORD detests the use of dishonest scales, but he delights in accurate weights.

2. அகந்தை வந்தால் இலச்சையும் வரும்; தாழ்ந்த சிந்தையுள்ளவர்களிடத்தில் ஞானம் உண்டு.

2. Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

3. செம்மையானவர்களுடைய உத்தமம் அவர்களை நடத்தும்; துரோகிகளின் மாறுபாடோ அவர்களைப் பாழாக்கும்.

3. Honesty guides good people; dishonesty destroys treacherous people.

4. கோபாக்கினை நாளில் ஐசுவரியம் உதவாது; நீதியோ மரணத்துக்குத் தப்புவிக்கும்.

4. Riches won't help on the day of judgment, but right living can save you from death.

5. உத்தமனுடைய நீதி அவன் வழியைச் செம்மைப்படுத்தும்; துன்மார்க்கனோ தன் துன்மார்க்கத்தினால் விழுவான்.

5. The godly are directed by honesty; the wicked fall beneath their load of sin.

6. செம்மையானவர்களுடைய நீதி அவர்களைத் தப்புவிக்கும்; துரோகிகளோ தங்கள் தீவினையிலே பிடிபடுவார்கள்.

6. The godliness of good people rescues them; the ambition of treacherous people traps them.

7. துன்மார்க்கன் மரிக்கும்போது அவன் நம்பிக்கை அழியும்; அக்கிரமக்காரரின் அபேட்சை கெட்டுப்போகும்.

7. When the wicked die, their hopes die with them, for they rely on their own feeble strength.

8. நீதிமான் இக்கட்டினின்று விடுவிக்கப்படுவான்; அவன் இருந்த இடத்திலே துன்மார்க்கன் வருவான்.

8. The godly are rescued from trouble, and it falls on the wicked instead.

9. மாயக்காரன் தனக்கு அடுத்தவனை வாயினால் கெடுக்கிறான்; நீதிமானோ அறிவினால் தப்புகிறான்.

9. With their words, the godless destroy their friends, but knowledge will rescue the righteous.

10. நீதிமான்கள் நன்றாயிருந்தால் பட்டணம் களிகூரும்; துன்மார்க்கர் அழிந்தால் கெம்பீரம் உண்டாகும்.

10. The whole city celebrates when the godly succeed; they shout for joy when the wicked die.

11. செம்மையானவர்களுடைய ஆசீர்வாதத்தினால் பட்டணம் நிலைபெற்றோங்கும்; துன்மார்க்கருடைய வாயினால் அது இடிந்துவிழும்.

11. Upright citizens are good for a city and make it prosper, but the talk of the wicked tears it apart.

12. மதிகெட்டவன் பிறனை அவமதிக்கிறான்; புத்திமானோ தன் வாயை அடக்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறான்.

12. It is foolish to belittle one's neighbor; a sensible person keeps quiet.

13. புறங்கூறித் திரிகிறவன் இரகசியத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறான்; ஆவியில் உண்மையுள்ளவனோ காரியத்தை அடக்குகிறான்.

13. A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.

14. ஆலோசனையில்லாத இடத்தில் ஜனங்கள் விழுந்துபோவார்கள்; அநேக ஆலோசனைக்காரர் உண்டானால் சுகம் உண்டாகும்.

14. Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers.

15. அந்நியனுக்காகப் பிணைப்படுகிறவன் வெகு பாடுபடுவான்; பிணைப்படுவதை வெறுப்பவன் சுகமாயிருப்பான்.

15. There's danger in putting up security for a stranger's debt; it's safer not to guarantee another person's debt.

16. நல்லொழுக்கமுள்ள ஸ்திரீ மானத்தைக் காப்பாள்; பராக்கிரமசாலிகள் ஐசுவரியத்தைக் காப்பார்கள்.

16. A gracious woman gains respect, but ruthless men gain only wealth.

17. தயையுள்ள மனுஷன் தன் ஆத்துமாவுக்கு நன்மை செய்துகொள்ளுகிறான்; கடூரனோ தன் உடலை அலைக்கழிக்கிறான்.

17. Your kindness will reward you, but your cruelty will destroy you.

18. துன்மார்க்கன் விருதாவேலையைச் செய்கிறான்; நீதியை விதைக்கிறவனோ மெய்ப்பலனைப் பெறுவான்.

18. Evil people get rich for the moment, but the reward of the godly will last.

19. நீதி ஜீவனுக்கு ஏதுவாகிறதுபோல், தீமையைப் பின்தொடருகிறவன் மரணத்துக்கு ஏதுவாகிறான்.

19. Godly people find life; evil people find death.

20. மாறுபாடுள்ள இருதயமுடையவர்கள் கர்த்தருக்கு அருவருப்பானவர்கள்; உத்தம மார்க்கத்தாரோ அவருக்குப் பிரியமானவர்கள்.

20. The LORD detests people with crooked hearts, but he delights in those with integrity.

21. கையோடே கைகோத்தாலும், துஷ்டன் தண்டனைக்குத் தப்பான்; நீதிமான்களுடைய சந்ததியோ விடுவிக்கப்படும்.

21. Evil people will surely be punished, but the children of the godly will go free.

22. மதிகேடாய் நடக்கிற அழகுள்ள ஸ்திரீ, பன்றியின் மூக்கிலுள்ள பொன் மூக்குத்திக்குச் சமானம்.

22. A beautiful woman who lacks discretion is like a gold ring in a pig's snout.

23. நீதிமான்களுடைய ஆசை நன்மையே; துன்மார்க்கருடைய நம்பிக்கையோ கோபாக்கினையாய் முடியும்.

23. The godly can look forward to a reward, while the wicked can expect only judgment.

24. வாரியிறைத்தும் விருத்தியடைவாரும் உண்டு; அதிகமாய்ப் பிசினித்தனம்பண்ணியும் வறுமையடைவாரும் உண்டு.

24. Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything.

25. உதாரகுணமுள்ள ஆத்துமா செழிக்கும்; எவன் தண்ணீர் பாய்ச்சுகிறானோ அவனுக்குத் தண்ணீர் பாய்ச்சப்படும்.

25. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

26. தானியத்தைக் கட்டிவைக்கிறவனை ஜனங்கள் சபிப்பார்கள்; விற்கிறவனுடைய தலையின்மேல் ஆசீர்வாதம் தங்கும்.

26. People curse those who hoard their grain, but they bless the one who sells in time of need.

27. நன்மையை ஜாக்கிரதையுடன் தேடுகிறவன் தயையைப் பெறுவான்; தீமையைத் தேடுகிறவனுக்கோ தீமையே வரும்.

27. If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you!

28. தன் ஐசுவரியத்தை நம்புகிறவன் விழுவான்; நீதிமான்களோ துளிரைப்போலே தழைப்பார்கள்.

28. Trust in your money and down you go! But the godly flourish like leaves in spring.

29. தன் வீட்டைக் கலைக்கிறவன் காற்றைச் சுதந்தரிப்பான்; மூடன் ஞானமுள்ளவனுக்கு அடிமையாவான்.

29. Those who bring trouble on their families inherit the wind. The fool will be a servant to the wise.

30. நீதிமானுடைய பலன் ஜீவவிருட்சம்; ஆத்துமாக்களை ஆதாயப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளுகிறவன் ஞானமுள்ளவன்.

30. The seeds of good deeds become a tree of life; a wise person wins friends.

31. இதோ, நீதிமானுக்கு பூமியில் சரிக்கட்டப்படுமே; துன்மார்க்கனுக்கும் பாவிக்கும் எத்தனை அதிகம்.
