1. அப்பொழுது மோசேயும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரும் கர்த்தரைப் புகழ்ந்துபாடின பாட்டு: கர்த்தரைப் பாடுவேன்; அவர் மகிமையாய் வெற்றி சிறந்தார்; குதிரையையும் குதிரைவீரனையும் கடலிலே தள்ளினார்.

1. Moses and the Israelites sang this song in praise of the LORD: I sing praises to the LORD for his great victory! He has thrown the horses and their riders into the sea.

2. கர்த்தர் என் பெலனும் என் கீதமுமானவர்; அவர் எனக்கு இரட்சிப்புமானவர்; அவரே என் தேவன், அவருக்கு வாசஸ்தலத்தை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணுவேன்; அவரே என் தகப்பனுடைய தேவன், அவரை உயர்த்துவேன்;

2. The LORD is my strength, the reason for my song, because he has saved me. I praise and honor the LORD-- he is my God and the God of my ancestors.

3. கர்த்தரே யுத்தத்தில் வல்லவர்; கர்த்தர் என்பது அவருடைய நாமம்.

3. The LORD is his name, and he is a warrior!

4. He threw the chariots and army of Egypt's king into the Red Sea, and he drowned the best of the king's officers.

5. ஆழி அவர்களை மூடிக்கொண்டது; கல்லைப்போல ஆழங்களில் அமிழ்ந்துபோனார்கள்.

5. They sank to the bottom just like stones.

6. கர்த்தாவே, உம்முடைய வலதுகரம் பலத்தினால் மகத்துவம் சிறந்திருக்கிறது; கர்த்தாவே, உம்முடைய வலதுகரம் பகைஞனை நொறுக்கிவிட்டது.

6. With the tremendous force of your right arm, our LORD, you crushed your enemies.

7. உமக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்பினவர்களை உமது முக்கியத்தின் மகத்துவத்தினாலே நிர்மூலமாக்கினீர்; உம்முடைய கோபாக்கினியை அனுப்பினீர், அது அவர்களைத் தாளடியைப்போலப் பட்சித்தது.

7. What a great victory was yours, as you defeated everyone who opposed you. Your fiery anger wiped them out, as though they were straw.

8. You were so furious that the sea piled up like a wall, and the ocean depths curdled like cheese.

9. தொடருவேன், பிடிப்பேன், கொள்ளையாடிப் பங்கிடுவேன், என் ஆசை அவர்களிடத்தில் திருப்தியாகும், என் பட்டயத்தை உருவுவேன், என் கை அவர்களைச் சங்கரிக்கும் என்று பகைஞன் சொன்னான்.

9. Your enemies boasted that they would pursue and capture us, divide up our possessions, treat us as they wished, then take out their swords and kill us right there.

10. உம்முடைய காற்றை வீசப்பண்ணினீர், கடல் அவர்களை மூடிக்கொண்டது; திரளான தண்ணீர்களில் ஈயம்போல அமிழ்ந்துபோனார்கள்.

10. But when you got furious, they sank like lead, swallowed by ocean waves.

11. கர்த்தாவே, தேவர்களில் உமக்கு ஒப்பானவர் யார்? பரிசுத்தத்தில் மகத்துவமுள்ளவரும், துதிகளில் பயப்படத்தக்கவரும், அற்புதங்களைச் செய்கிறவருமாகிய உமக்கு ஒப்பானவர் யார்?

11. Our LORD, no other gods compare with you-- Majestic and holy! Fearsome and glorious! Miracle worker!

12. நீர் உமது வலதுகரத்தை நீட்டினீர்; பூமி அவர்களை விழுங்கிப்போட்டது.

12. When you signaled with your right hand, your enemies were swallowed deep into the earth.

13. நீர் மீட்டுக்கொண்ட இந்த ஜனங்களை உமது கிருபையினாலே அழைத்து வந்தீர்; உம்முடைய பரிசுத்த வாசஸ்தலத்துக்கு நேராக அவர்களை உமது பலத்தினால் வழி நடத்தினீர்.

13. The people you rescued were led by your powerful love to your holy place.

14. ஜனங்கள் அதைக் கேட்டுத் தத்தளிப்பார்கள்; பெலிஸ்தியாவின் குடிகளைத் திகில் பிடிக்கும்.

14. Nations learned of this and trembled-- Philistines shook with horror.

15. ஏதோமின் பிரபுக்கள் கலங்குவார்கள்; மோவாபின் பராக்கிரமசாலிகளை நடுக்கம் பிடிக்கும்; கானானின் குடிகள் யாவரும் கரைந்துபோவார்கள்.

15. The leaders of Edom and of Moab were terrified. Everyone in Canaan fainted,

16. பயமும் திகிலும் அவர்கள்மேல் விழும். கர்த்தாவே, உமது ஜனங்கள் கடந்துபோகும்வரையும், நீர் மீட்ட ஜனங்களே கடந்துபோகும்வரையும், அவர்கள் உம்முடைய புயத்தின் மகத்துவத்தினால் கல்லைப்போல அசைவற்றிருப்பார்கள்.

16. struck down by fear. Our LORD, your powerful arm kept them still as a rock until the people you rescued for your very own had marched by.

17. நீர் அவர்களைக் கொண்டுபோய், கர்த்தராகிய தேவரீர் வாசம்பண்ணுகிறதற்கு நியமித்த ஸ்தானமாகிய உம்முடைய சுதந்தரத்தின் பர்வதத்திலும், ஆண்டவராகிய தேவரீருடைய கரங்கள் ஸ்தாபித்த பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திலும் அவர்களை நாட்டுவீர்.

17. You will let your people settle on your chosen mountain, where you built your home and your temple.

18. Our LORD, you will rule forever!

19. பார்வோனின் குதிரைகள் அவனுடைய இரதங்களோடும் குதிரைவீரரோடும் சமுத்திரத்தில் பிரவேசித்தது; கர்த்தர் சமுத்திரத்தின் ஜலத்தை அவர்கள்மேல் திரும்பப்பண்ணினார்; இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரோ சமுத்திரத்தின் நடுவே வெட்டாந்தரையிலே நடந்துபோனார்கள் என்று பாடினார்கள்.

19. The LORD covered the royal Egyptian cavalry and chariots with the sea, after the Israelites had walked safely through on dry ground.

20. ஆரோனின் சகோதரியாகிய மிரியாம் என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியானவளும் தன் கையிலே தம்புரை எடுத்துக்கொண்டாள்; சகல ஸ்திரீகளும் தம்புருகளோடும் நடனத்தோடும் அவளுக்குப் பின்னே புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்.

20. Miriam the sister of Aaron was a prophet. So she took her tambourine and led the other women out to play their tambourines and to dance.

21. மிரியாம் அவர்களுக்குப் பிரதிவசனமாக: கர்த்தரைப் பாடுங்கள், அவர் மகிமையாய் வெற்றிசிறந்தார்; குதிரையையும் குதிரைவீரனையும் கடலிலே தள்ளினார் என்று பாடினாள்.

21. Then she sang to them: 'Sing praises to the LORD for his great victory! He has thrown the horses and their riders into the sea.'

22. பின்பு மோசே இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களைச் சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்திலிருந்து பிரயாணப்படுத்தினான். அவர்கள் சூர்வனாந்தரத்துக்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், மூன்று நாள் வனாந்தரத்தில் தண்ணீர் கிடையாமல் நடந்தார்கள்.

22. After the Israelites left the Red Sea, Moses led them through the Shur Desert for three days, before finding water.

23. அவர்கள் மாராவிலே வந்தபோது, மாராவின் தண்ணீர் கசப்பாயிருந்ததினால் அதைக் குடிக்க அவர்களுக்குக் கூடாதிருந்தது; அதினால் அவ்விடத்துக்கு மாரா என்று பேரிடப்பட்டது.

23. They did find water at Marah, but it was bitter, which is how that place got its name.

24. அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் மோசேக்கு விரோதமாய் முறுமுறுத்து: என்னத்தைக் குடிப்போம் என்றார்கள்.

24. The people complained and said, 'Moses, what are we going to drink?'

25. மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டான்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேக்கு ஒரு மரத்தைக் காண்பித்தார்; அதை அவன் தண்ணீரில் போட்டவுடனே, அது மதுரமான தண்ணீராயிற்று. அவர் அங்கே அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு நியமத்தையும், ஒரு நியாயத்தையும் கட்டளையிட்டு, அங்கே அவர்களைச் சோதித்து:

25. Moses asked the LORD for help, and the LORD told him to throw a piece of wood into the water. Moses did so, and the water became fit to drink. At Marah the LORD tested his people and also gave them some laws and teachings.

26. நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் சத்தத்தைக் கவனமாய்க் கேட்டு, அவர் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானவைகளைச் செய்து, அவர் கட்டளைகளுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, அவருடைய நியமங்கள் யாவையும் கைக்கொண்டால், நான் எகிப்தியருக்கு வரப்பண்ணின வியாதிகளில் ஒன்றையும் உனக்கு வரப்பண்ணேன்; நானே உன் பரிகாரியாகிய கர்த்தர் என்றார்.

26. Then he said, 'I am the LORD your God, and I cure your diseases. If you obey me by doing right and by following my laws and teachings, I won't punish you with the diseases I sent on the Egyptians.'

27. பின்பு அவர்கள் ஏலிமுக்கு வந்தார்கள்; அங்கே பன்னிரண்டு நீரூற்றுகளும் எழுபது பேரீச்சமரங்களும் இருந்தது; அங்கே தண்ணீர் அருகே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

27. Later the Israelites came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees. So they camped there.
