2. எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, உத்தரவு அருளிச்செய்யும்; சத்துருவினுடைய கூக்குரலினிமித்தமும், துன்மார்க்கர் செய்யும் இடுக்கத்தினிமித்தமும் என் தியானத்தில் முறையிடுகிறேன்.

2. Please listen and help me. My thoughts are troubled, and I keep groaning

3. அவர்கள் என்மேல் பழிசாட்டி, குரோதங்கொண்டு, என்னைப் பகைக்கிறார்கள்.

3. because my loud enemies shout and attack. They treat me terribly and hold angry grudges.

4. என் இருதயம் எனக்குள் வியாகுலப்படுகிறது; மரணத்திகில் என்மேல் விழுந்தது.

4. My heart is racing fast, and I am afraid of dying.

5. பயமும் நடுக்கமும் என்னைப் பிடித்தது; அருக்களிப்பு என்னை மூடிற்று.

5. I am trembling with fear, completely terrified.

6. அப்பொழுது நான்: ஆ, எனக்குப் புறாவைப்போல் சிறகுகள் இருந்தால், நான்பறந்துபோய் இளைப்பாறுவேன்.

6. I wish I had wings like a dove, so I could fly far away and be at peace.

7. நான் தூரத்தில் அலைந்து திரிந்து வனாந்தரத்தில் தங்கியிருப்பேன். (சேலா)

7. I would go and live in some distant desert.

8. பெருங்காற்றுக்கும் புசலுக்கும் தப்பத் தீவிரித்துக்கொள்ளுவேன் என்றேன்.

8. I would quickly find shelter from howling winds and raging storms.

9. ஆண்டவரே, அவர்களை அழித்து, அவர்கள் பாஷையைப் பிரிந்துபோகப்பண்ணும்; கொடுமையையும் சண்டையையும் நகரத்திலே கண்டேன்;

9. Confuse my enemies, Lord! Upset their plans. Cruelty and violence are all I see in the city,

10. அவைகள் இரவும்பகலும் அதின் மதில்கள்மேல் சுற்றித்திரிகிறது; அக்கிரமமும் வாதையும் அதின் நடுவில் இருக்கிறது;

10. and they are like guards on patrol day and night. The city is full of trouble, evil,

11. கேடுபாடுகள் அதின் நடுவில் இருக்கிறது; கொடுமையும் கபடும் அதின் வீதியைவிட்டு விலகிப்போகிறதில்லை.

11. and corruption. Troublemakers and liars freely roam the streets.

12. என்னை நிந்தித்தவன் சத்துரு அல்ல, அப்படியிருந்தால் சகிப்பேன்; எனக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பெருமை பாராட்டினவன் என் பகைஞன் அல்ல, அப்படியிருந்தால் அவனுக்கு மறைந்திருப்பேன்.

12. My enemies are not the ones who sneer and make fun. I could put up with that or even hide from them.

13. எனக்குச் சமமான மனுஷனும், என் வழிகாட்டியும், என் தோழனுமாகிய நீயே அவன்.

13. But it was my closest friend, the one I trusted most.

14. நாம் ஒருமித்து, இன்பமான ஆலோசனைபண்ணி, கூட்டத்தோடே தேவாலயத்துக்குப் போனோம்.

14. We enjoyed being together, and we went with others to your house, our God.

15. மரணம் அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து பிடிப்பதாக; அவர்கள் உயிரோடே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்குவார்களாக; அவர்கள் வாசஸ்தலங்களிலும் அவர்கள் உள்ளத்திலும் பொல்லாங்கு இருக்கிறது.

15. All who hate me are controlled by the power of evil. Sentence them to death and send them down alive to the world of the dead.

16. நானோ தேவனை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுவேன்; கர்த்தர் என்னை இரட்சிப்பார்.

16. I ask for your help, LORD God, and you will keep me safe.

17. அந்திசந்தி மத்தியான வேளைகளிலும் நான் தியானம்பண்ணி முறையிடுவேன்; அவர் என் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்பார்.

17. Morning, noon, and night you hear my concerns and my complaints.

18. திரளான கூட்டமாய்க் கூடி என்னோடு எதிர்த்தார்கள்; அவரோ எனக்கு நேரிட்ட போரை நீக்கி, என் ஆத்துமாவைச் சமாதானத்துடன் மீட்டுவிட்டார்.

18. I am attacked from all sides, but you will rescue me unharmed by the battle.

19. ஆதிமுதலாய் வீற்றிருக்கிற தேவன் கேட்டு, அவர்களுக்குப் பதிலளிப்பார்; அவர்களுக்கு மாறுதல்கள் நேரிடாததினால், அவர்கள் தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படாமற்போகிறார்கள். (சேலா)

19. You have always ruled, and you will hear me. You will defeat my enemies because they won't turn and worship you.

20. அவன் தன்னோடே சமாதானமாயிருந்தவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தன் கையை நீட்டி தன் உடன்படிக்கையை மீறி நடந்தான்.

20. My friend turned against me and broke his promise.

21. அவன் வாயின் சொற்கள் வெண்ணெயைப்போல மெதுவானவைகள், அவன் இருதயமோ யுத்தம்; அவன் வார்த்தைகள் எண்ணெயிலும் மிருதுவானவைகள். ஆனாலும் அவைகள் உருவின பட்டயங்கள்.

21. His words were smoother than butter, and softer than olive oil. But hatred filled his heart, and he was ready to attack with a sword.

22. கர்த்தர்மேல் உன் பாரத்தை வைத்துவிடு, அவர் உன்னை ஆதரிப்பார்; நீதிமானை ஒருபோதும் தள்ளாடவொட்டார்.

22. Our LORD, we belong to you. We tell you what worries us, and you won't let us fall.

23. தேவனே, நீர் அவர்களை அழிவின் குழியில் இறங்கப்பண்ணுவீர்; இரத்தப்பிரியரும் சூதுள்ள மனுஷரும் தங்கள் ஆயுளின் நாட்களில் பாதிவரையிலாகிலும் பிழைத்திருக்கமாட்டார்கள்; நானோ உம்மை நம்பியிருக்கிறேன்.

23. But what about those people who are cruel and brutal? You will throw them down into the deepest pit long before their time. I trust you, LORD!
