1. அக்காலத்திலே யெரொபெயாமின் குமாரனாகிய அபியா வியாதியில் விழுந்தான்.

1. At that time Abiah the son of Jeroboam fell sick.

2. அப்பொழுது யெரொபெயாம் தன் மனைவியைப் பார்த்து: நீ எழுந்து, நீ யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவியென்று ஒருவரும் அறியாதபடிக்கு வேஷம்மாறி சீலோவுக்குப் போ; இந்த ஜனத்தின்மேல் நான் ராஜாவாவேன் என்று என்னோடே சொன்ன தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய அகியா அங்கே இருக்கிறான்.

2. And Jeroboam said unto his wife: up a fellowship and change thine apparel that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam, and get thee to Siloh. For there is Ahiah the Prophet which told me that I should be king over this people.

3. நீ உன் கையிலே பத்து அப்பங்களையும், பணியாரங்களையும், ஒரு கலசம் தேனையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு அவனிடத்துக்குப் போ; பிள்ளைக்குச் சம்பவிக்கப்போகிறது இன்னதென்று அவன் உனக்கு அறிவிப்பான் என்றான்.

3. And take with thee ten loaves and cracknels and a cruse of honey, and go to him: for he will tell thee what shall come of the lad.

4. அப்படியே யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவி செய்தாள்; அவள் எழுந்து சீலோவுக்குப் போய், அகியாவின் வீட்டிற்குள் பிரவேசித்தாள்; அகியாவோ முதிர் வயதானதினால் அவன் கண்கள் மங்கலடைந்து பார்க்கக்கூடாதிருந்தான்.

4. And Jeroboam's wife did so: she arose and went to Siloh and came to the house of Ahiah. But Ahiah could not see, for his eyes were waxen dim for age.

5. கர்த்தர் அகியாவினிடத்தில்: இதோ, யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவி வியாதியாருக்கிற தன் குமாரனுக்காக உன்னை ஒரு விசேஷம் கேட்க வருகிறாள்; நீ அவளுக்கு இன்ன இன்ன பிரகாரமாகச் சொல்லவேண்டும்; அவள் உட்பிரவேசிக்கிறபோது, தன்னை அந்நிய ஸ்திரீயாகக் காண்பிப்பாள் என்றார்.

5. And the LORD said unto Ahiah: behold the wife of Jeroboam cometh, to question with thee about her son which is sick. This wise and this wise answer her. And when she came, she feigned herself to be another woman.

6. ஆகையால் வாசற்படிக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கும் அவளுடைய நடையின் சத்தத்தை அகியா கேட்டவுடனே, அவன்: யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவியே, உள்ளே வா; உன்னை அந்நிய ஸ்திரீயாகக் காண்பிக்கிறதென்ன? துக்கசெய்தியை உனக்கு அறிவிக்க நான் அனுப்பப்பட்டேன்.

6. But when Ahiah heard the sound of her feet as she came to the door he said: come in thou wife of Jeroboam, why feignest thou thyself to be another? I am sent to thee a cruel messenger.

7. நீ போய் யெரொபெயாமை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்; ஜனத்தினின்று உன்னை நான் உயர்த்தி, உன்னை இஸ்ரவேல் என்னும் என் ஜனத்தின்மேல் அதிபதியாக வைத்தேன்.

7. Go and tell Jeroboam, thus sayeth the LORD God of Israel: for as much as I exalted thee from among the common people and made thee prince over my people Israel,

8. நான் ராஜ்யபாரத்தைத் தாவீது வம்சத்தாரின் கையிலிருந்து பிடுங்கி உனக்குக் கொடுத்தேன்; ஆனாலும் என் கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு, என் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதையே செய்ய, தன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் என்னைப் பின்பற்றின என் தாசனாகிய தாவீதைப்போல நீ இராமல்,

8. and did rent the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it thee: and thou hast not been as was my servant David, which kept my commandments and followed me with all his heart, to do that onely which seemeth right in mine eyes:

9. உனக்கு முன்னிருந்த எல்லாரைப்பார்க்கிலும் பொல்லாப்புச் செய்தாய்; எனக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்க, நீ போய் உனக்கு அந்நிய தேவர்களையும் வார்க்கப்பட்ட விக்கிரகங்களையும் உண்டுபண்ணி, உனக்குப் புறம்பே என்னைத் தள்ளிவிட்டாய்.

9. but hast done evil above all that were before thee, and hast gone and made the other gods and images of metal, to provoke me, and hast cast me behind thy back:

10. ஆகையால் இதோ, நான் யெரொபெயாமுடைய வீட்டின்மேல் பொல்லாப்பை வரப்பண்ணி, யெரொபெயாமுக்கு, சுவர்மேல் நீர்விடும் ஒரு நாய் முதலாயிராதபடிக்கு, இஸ்ரவேலிலே அடைபட்டவனையும் விடுபட்டவனையும் சங்காரம்பண்ணி, குப்பை கழித்துப்போடப்படுகிறதுபோல யெரொபெயாமின் பின்னடியாரை அவர்கள் கட்டோடே அற்றுப்போகுமட்டும் கழித்துப்போடுவேன் என்றார்.

10. therefore behold I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam and will strike from Jeroboam all that pisseth against the wall, and what soever is in prison or forsaken in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as men take away a dung hill, till it be consumed.

11. யெரொபெயாமின் சந்ததியாரில் பட்டணத்திலே சாகிறவனை நாய்கள் தின்னும்; வெளியிலே சாகிறவனை ஆகாயத்தின் பறவைகள் தின்னும்; கர்த்தர் இதை உரைத்தார்.

11. And whosoever of Jeroboam's house die in the town, him shall the dogs eat, and him that dieth in the field, shall the fowls of the air eat: for the LORD hath said it,

12. ஆகையால் நீ எழுந்து, உன் வீட்டுக்குப்போ, உன் கால்கள் பட்டணத்திற்குள் பிரவேசிக்கையில் பிள்ளையாண்டான் செத்துப்போவான்.

12. up and get thee to thine house, and as soon as thy foot enterest the city, the lad shall die.

13. அவனுக்காக இஸ்ரவேலரெல்லாரும் துக்கங்கொண்டாடி அவனை அடக்கம்பண்ணுவார்கள்; யெரொபெயாமின் வீட்டாரில் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக அவனிடத்திலே நல்ல காரியம் காணப்பட்டதினால், யெரொபெயாமின் சந்ததியில் அவன் ஒருவனே கல்லறைக்குட்படுவான்.

13. How be it all Israel shall mourn him and bury him, for this onely of all Jeroboam shall come to the sepulchre, because in him there is found goodness toward the LORD God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.

14. ஆனாலும் கர்த்தர் தமக்கு இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ஒரு ராஜாவை எழும்பப்பண்ணுவார்; அவன் அந்நாளிலே யெரொபெயாமின் வீட்டாரைச் சங்கரிப்பான்; இப்போதே இது நடந்தேறும்.

14. Moreover the LORD shall stir him up a king over Israel which shall destroy the house of Jeroboam in that day. And what is that, that is now in hand?

15. தண்ணீரிலே நாணல் அசைகிறதுபோல, கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலை முறிந்தசையப்பண்ணி, அவர்கள் பிதாக்களுக்குத் தாம் கொடுத்த இந்த நல்ல தேசத்திலிருந்து இஸ்ரவேலை வேரோடே பிடுங்கி, அவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு தோப்பு விக்கிரகங்களை வைத்து, கர்த்தருக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்கினபடியினால், அவர்களை நதிக்கப்பாலே சிதறடித்து,

15. And the LORD shall smite Israel, as a reed that groweth in the water is shaken, and will weed Israel out of this good land which he gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond Euphrates, because they have made them groves to anger the LORD.

16. யெரொபெயாம் செய்ததும் இஸ்ரவேலைச் செய்யப்பண்ணினதுமான பாவத்தினிமித்தம் இஸ்ரவேலை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்துவிடுவார் என்றான்.

16. And he will give Israel up, because of the sin of Jeroboam wherewith he did sin and made Israel sin thereto.

17. அப்பொழுது யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவி எழுந்து புறப்பட்டு திர்சாவுக்கு வந்தாள்; அவள் வாசற்படியிலே வருகையில் பிள்ளையாண்டான் செத்துப்போனான்.

17. And Jeroboam's wife arose and departed and went to Therzah, and by that she was come to the threshold of the door, the lad was dead.

18. கர்த்தர் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய அகியா என்னும் தமது ஊழியக்காரனைக் கொண்டு சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படியே, அவர்கள் அவனை அடக்கம்பண்ணி, இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரும் அவனுக்காகத் துக்கங்கொண்டாடினார்கள்.

18. And all Israel buried him and lamented him, according to the word of the LORD which he spake by the hand of his servant Ahiah the Prophet.

19. யெரொபெயாம் யுத்தம்பண்ணினதும் ஆண்டதுமான அவனுடைய மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

19. And the rest of the deeds of Jeroboam, how he warred and how he reigned, are written in the book of the stories of the kings of Israel.

20. யெரொபெயாம் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணின காலம் இருபத்திரண்டு வருஷம்; அவன் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின், அவன் குமாரனாகிய நாதாப் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

20. And the days which Jeroboam reigned were twenty two year. And then he rested with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his stead.

21. சாலொமோனின் குமாரனாகிய ரெகொபெயாம் யூதாவிலே ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணினான்; ரெகொபெயாம் ராஜாவாகிறபோது நாற்பத்தொரு வயதாயிருந்து, கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய நாமம் விளங்கும்படி இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களிலெல்லாம் தெரிந்துகொண்ட நகரமாகிய எருசலேமிலே பதினேழு வருஷம் ராஜ்யபாரம் பண்ணினான்; அம்மோன் ஜாதியான அவனுடைய தாயின் பேர் நாமாள்.

21. And Rehoboam the son of Salomon reigned in Juda and was forty one year old when he began to reign, and reigned seventeen year in Jerusalem the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. His mother's name was Naamah an Ammonite.

22. யூதா ஜனங்கள் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்து, தாங்கள் செய்து வருகிற தங்களுடைய பாவங்களினால் தங்கள் பிதாக்கள் செய்த எல்லாவற்றைப்பார்க்கிலும் அவருக்கு அதிக எரிச்சலை மூட்டினார்கள்.

22. And Juda wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD and angered him above all that their fathers did, with their sin which they sinned.

23. அவர்களும் உயர்ந்த சகல மேட்டின் மேலும், பச்சையான சகல மரத்தின் கீழும், மேடைகளையும் சிலைகளையும் தோப்புவிக்கிரகங்களையும் தங்களுக்கு உண்டாக்கினார்கள்.

23. For they also made them hillaltars and Images and groves on every high hill and under every green tree.

24. தேசத்திலே இலச்சையான புணர்ச்சிக்காரரும் இருந்தார்கள்; கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்திவிட்ட ஜாதிகளுடைய அருவருப்புகளின்படியெல்லாம் செய்தார்கள்.

24. And thereto there was a stews of male children in the land, and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

25. ரெகொபெயாம் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணும் ஐந்தாம் வருஷத்திலே, எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய சீஷாக் எருசலேமுக்கு விரோதமாய் வந்து,

25. And the fifth year of king Rehoboam came Sesak king of Egypt up to Jerusalem,

26. கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் பொக்கிஷங்களையும், ராஜாவுடைய அரமனையின் பொக்கிஷங்களையும், சாலொமோன் செய்வித்த பொன் பரிசைகள் ஆகிய சகலத்தையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போய்விட்டான்.

26. and took away the treasure of the house of the LORD, and the treasure of the king's house and all that was to be had. And he took away the shields of gold which Salomon made.

27. அவைகளுக்குப் பதிலாக ராஜாவாகிய ரெகொபெயாம் வெண்கலப் பரிசைகளைச் செய்வித்து, அவைகளை ராஜாவின் வாசற்படியைக் காக்கிற சேவகருடைய தலைவரின் கையில் ஒப்புவித்தான்.

27. In whose stead king Rehoboam made brazen shields and put them in the keeping of the captains of the guard which waited at the door of the king's house.

28. ராஜா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கும்போது, அரமனைச்சேவகர் அவைகளைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோய், திரும்பத் தங்கள் அறையிலே வைப்பார்கள்.

28. And as oft as the king went in to the house of the LORD, they of his guard bare them, and ever brought them again into the guard chamber.

29. ரெகொபெயாமின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவன் செய்தவை யாவும், யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

29. The rest of the Acts of king Rehoboam and all he did, are written in the book of Acts of the kings of Juda.

30. ரெகொபெயாமுக்கும் யெரொபெயாமுக்கும் அவர்கள் இருந்த நாட்களிலெல்லாம் யுத்தம் நடந்துகொண்டிருந்தது.

30. And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all their lives.

31. ரெகொபெயாம் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்து, தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் தன் பிதாக்களண்டையில் அடக்கம் பண்ணப்பட்டான்; அம்மோன் ஜாதியான அவன் தாய்க்கு நாமாள் என்று பேர்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய அபியாம் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

31. And Rehoboam laid him to rest with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonite. And Abiam his son reigned in his room.
