1. நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் பிள்ளைகள்; செத்தவனுக்காகக் கீறிக்கொள்ளாமலும், உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு இடையிலே சவரம்பண்ணாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.
ரோமர் 9:4

1. Ye are the children of the LORD your God, cut not your selves nor make you any baldness between the eyes for any man's death.

2. நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தமான ஜனங்கள்; பூமியின் மீதெங்குமுள்ள எல்லா ஜனங்களிலும் உங்களையே கர்த்தர் தமக்குச் சொந்த ஜனங்களாயிருக்கத் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.
தீத்து 2:14, 1 பேதுரு 2:9, ரோமர் 9:4

2. For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a several people unto himself, of all the nations that are upon the earth.

3. அருவருப்பானதொன்றையும் புசிக்க வேண்டாம்.

3. Ye shall eat no manner of abomination.

4. நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தகும் மிருகங்களாவன: மாடும், செம்மறியாடும், வெள்ளாடும்,

4. These are the beasts which ye shall eat of: oxen, sheep and goats,

5. மானும், வெளிமானும், கலைமானும், வரையாடும், புள்ளிமானும், சருகுமானும், புல்வாயுமே.

5. hart, roe and bugle, hart(wild) goat, unicorn, origen and Camelion.

6. மிருகங்களில் விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்து, குளம்புகள் இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்திருக்கிறதும், அசைபோடுகிறதுமான சகல மிருகங்களையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்;

6. And all beasts that cleave the hoof, and slit it into two claws and chew the cud, them ye shall eat.

7. அசைபோடுகிறவைகளிலும், விரிகுளம்புள்ளவைகளிலும், நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தகாதவைகள் எவையென்றால்: ஒட்டகமும், முசலும், குழிமுசலுமே; அவைகள் அசைபோட்டும் அவைகளுக்கு விரிகுளம்பில்லை; அவைகள் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக.

7. Nevertheless, these ye shall not eat of them that chew cud and of them that divide and cleave the hoof: the camel, the hare and the coney. For they chew cud, but divide not the hoof: and therefore are unclean unto you:

8. பன்றியும் புசிக்கத்தகாது; அது விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்தும், அசைபோடாதிருக்கும்; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; இவைகளின் மாம்சத்தைப் புசியாமலும் இவைகளின் உடலைத்தொடாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.

8. and also the swine, for though he divide the hoof, yet he cheweth not cud, and therefore is unclean unto you: Ye shall not eat of the flesh of them nor touch the dead carcasses of them.

9. ஜலத்திலிருக்கிற எல்லாவற்றிலும் சிறகும் செதிளும் உள்ளவைகளையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

9. These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: All that have fins and scales.

10. சிறகும் செதிளும் இல்லாத யாதொன்றையும் புசிக்கலாகாது; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக.

10. And whatsoever hath not fins and scales, of that ye may not eat, for that is unclean unto you.

11. சுத்தமான சகல பட்சிகளையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

11. Of all clean birds ye shall eat,

12. நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தகாதவைகள் எவையென்றால்: கழுகும், கருடனும், கடலுராஞ்சியும்,

12. but these are they of which ye may not eat: the eagle, the goshawk, the cormorant,

13. பைரியும், வல்லூறும், சகலவித பருந்தும்,

13. the ixion, the vultur, the kite and her kind,

14. சகலவித காகங்களும்,

14. and all kind of ravens,

15. தீக்குருவியும், கூகையும், செம்புகமும், சகலவிதமான டேகையும்,

15. the Ostrich, the nightcrow, the cuckoo, the sparrowhawk and all her kind,

16. ஆந்தையும், கோட்டானும், நாரையும்,

16. the little owl, the great owl, the back,

17. கூழக்கடாவும், குருகும், நீர்க்காகமும்,

17. the bittern, the pye,

18. கொக்கும், சகலவித ராஜாளியும், புழுக்கொத்தியும், வெளவாலுமே.

18. the stork, the heron, the Jay in his kind, the lapwing, the swallow.

19. பறக்கிறவைகளில் ஊர்வன யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; அவைகள் புசிக்கத்தகாதவைகள்.

19. And all creeping fowls are unclean unto you and may not be eaten of:

20. சுத்தமான பறவைகள் யாவையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

20. but of all clean fowls ye may well eat.

21. தானாய் இறந்து போனதொன்றையும் புசிக்கவேண்டாம்; உங்கள் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற பரதேசிக்கு அதைப் புசிக்கக்கொடுக்கலாம்; அல்லது அந்நியனுக்கு அதை விற்றுப்போடலாம்; நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஜனங்கள். வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியை அதின் தாயின் பாலிலே சமைக்கவேண்டாம்.

21. Ye shall eat of nothing that dieth alone: But thou mayest give it unto the stranger that is in thy city that he eat it, or mayst sell it unto an Alien. For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.

22. நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு எப்பொழுதும் பயந்திருக்கப் பழகும்படிக்கு, வருஷந்தோறும் நீ விதைக்கிற விதைப்பினாலே வயலில் விளையும் எல்லாப் பலனிலும் தசமபாகத்தைப் பிரித்து,

22. Thou shalt tithe all the increase of thy seed that cometh out of the field year by year.

23. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது நாமம் விளங்கும்படி தெரிந்துகொள்ளும் ஸ்தானத்திலே, உன் தானியத்திலும் உன் திராட்சரசத்திலும் உன் எண்ணெயிலும் தசமபாகத்தையும் உன் ஆடுமாடுகளின் தலையீற்றுகளையும் அவருடைய சந்நிதியில் புசிப்பாயாக.

23. And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God in the place, which he hath chosen to make his name dwell there the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine and of thine oil, and the firstborn of thine oxen and of thy flock that thou mayst learn to fear the LORD thy God alway.

24. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும் காலத்தில், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது நாமம் விளங்கும்படி தெரிந்துகொண்ட ஸ்தானம் உனக்கு வெகு தூரமாயிருக்கிறதினால், வழிப்பிரயாணத்தின் வெகு தொலைவினிமித்தம், நீ அதைக் கொண்டுபோகக்கூடாதிருக்குமானால்,

24. If the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it, because the place is too far from the which the LORD thy God hath chosen to set his name there (for the LORD thy God hath blessed thee)

25. அதைப் பணமாக்கி, பணமுடிப்பை உன் கையிலே பிடித்துக்கொண்டு, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தெரிந்துகொண்ட ஸ்தலத்திற்குப் போய்,

25. then make it in money and take the money in thine hand, and go unto the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen,

26. அங்கே உன் இஷ்டப்படி ஆடுமாடு, திராட்சரசம், மதுபானம் முதலான சகலத்தையும் பணம்கொடுத்து வாங்கி, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில், நீயும் உன் குடும்பத்தாரும் உன் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற லேவியனும் புசித்துச் சந்தோஷப்படுவீர்களாக.

26. and bestow that money on whatsoever thy soul lusteth after: on oxen, sheep, wine and good drink, and on whatsoever thy soul desireth, and eat there before the LORD thy God and be merry: both thou and thine household

27. லேவியனுக்கு உன்னோடே பங்கும் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லாதபடியால் அவனைக் கைவிடாயாக.

27. and the Levite that is in thy city. See thou forsake not the Levite, for he hath neither part nor inheritance with thee.

28. மூன்றாம் வருஷத்தின் முடிவிலே அவ்வருஷத்தில் உனக்கு வந்த பலன் எல்லாவற்றிலும் தசமபாகத்தைப் பிரித்து, உன் வாசல்களில் வைக்கக்கடவாய்.

28. At the end of three year, thou shalt bring forth all the tithes of thine increase the same year and lay it up within thine own city,

29. லேவியனுக்கு உன்னோடே பங்கும் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லாதபடியினால், அவனும், உன் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற பரதேசியும், திக்கற்றவனும், விதவையும் வந்து புசித்துத் திருப்தியடைவார்களாக; அப்பொழுது உன் கை செய்யும் வேலையிலெல்லாம் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிப்பார்.

29. and the Levite shall come because he hath neither part nor inheritance with thee, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow which are whithin thy city and shall eat and fill them selves: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the works of thine hand which thou doest.
