1. நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் பிள்ளைகள்; செத்தவனுக்காகக் கீறிக்கொள்ளாமலும், உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு இடையிலே சவரம்பண்ணாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.
ரோமர் 9:4

1. You are the children of the Lord your God. When someone dies, you must not cut yourselves or shave your heads to show your sadness.

2. நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தமான ஜனங்கள்; பூமியின் மீதெங்குமுள்ள எல்லா ஜனங்களிலும் உங்களையே கர்த்தர் தமக்குச் சொந்த ஜனங்களாயிருக்கத் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.

2. This is because you are different from other people. You are the Lord's special people. From all the people in the world, the Lord your God chose you to be his own special people.

3. அருவருப்பானதொன்றையும் புசிக்க வேண்டாம்.

3. Don't eat anything that the Lord hates.

4. நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தகும் மிருகங்களாவன: மாடும், செம்மறியாடும், வெள்ளாடும்,

4. You may eat these animals: cattle, sheep, goats,

5. மானும், வெளிமானும், கலைமானும், வரையாடும், புள்ளிமானும், சருகுமானும், புல்வாயுமே.

5. deer, gazelles, roe deer, wild sheep, wild goats, antelopes, and mountain sheep.

6. மிருகங்களில் விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்து, குளம்புகள் இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்திருக்கிறதும், அசைபோடுகிறதுமான சகல மிருகங்களையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்;

6. You may eat any animal that has hooves divided into two parts and that chews the cud.

7. அசைபோடுகிறவைகளிலும், விரிகுளம்புள்ளவைகளிலும், நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தகாதவைகள் எவையென்றால்: ஒட்டகமும், முசலும், குழிமுசலுமே; அவைகள் அசைபோட்டும் அவைகளுக்கு விரிகுளம்பில்லை; அவைகள் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக.

7. But don't eat camels, rabbits, or rock badgers. These animals chew the cud, but they don't have split hooves. So these animals are not a clean food for you.

8. பன்றியும் புசிக்கத்தகாது; அது விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்தும், அசைபோடாதிருக்கும்; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; இவைகளின் மாம்சத்தைப் புசியாமலும் இவைகளின் உடலைத்தொடாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.

8. And you must not eat pigs. Their hooves are divided, but they don't chew the cud. So pigs are not a clean food for you. Don't eat any meat from pigs. Don't even touch a pig's dead body.

9. ஜலத்திலிருக்கிற எல்லாவற்றிலும் சிறகும் செதிளும் உள்ளவைகளையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

9. You may eat any kind of fish that has fins and scales.

10. சிறகும் செதிளும் இல்லாத யாதொன்றையும் புசிக்கலாகாது; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக.

10. But don't eat anything living in the water that does not have fins and scales. It is not a clean food for you.

11. சுத்தமான சகல பட்சிகளையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

11. You may eat any clean bird.

12. நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தகாதவைகள் எவையென்றால்: கழுகும், கருடனும், கடலுராஞ்சியும்,

12. But don't eat any of these birds: eagles, vultures, buzzards,

13. பைரியும், வல்லூறும், சகலவித பருந்தும்,

13. red kites, falcons, any kind of kite,

14. சகலவித காகங்களும்,

14. any kind of raven,

15. தீக்குருவியும், கூகையும், செம்புகமும், சகலவிதமான டேகையும்,

15. horned owls, screech owls, sea gulls, any kind of hawk,

16. ஆந்தையும், கோட்டானும், நாரையும்,

16. little owls, great owls, white owls,

17. கூழக்கடாவும், குருகும், நீர்க்காகமும்,

17. desert owls, ospreys, cormorants,

18. கொக்கும், சகலவித ராஜாளியும், புழுக்கொத்தியும், வெளவாலுமே.

18. storks, any kind of heron, hoopoes or bats.

19. பறக்கிறவைகளில் ஊர்வன யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; அவைகள் புசிக்கத்தகாதவைகள்.

19. All insects with wings are unclean, so don't eat them.

20. சுத்தமான பறவைகள் யாவையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

20. But you may eat any clean bird.

21. தானாய் இறந்து போனதொன்றையும் புசிக்கவேண்டாம்; உங்கள் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற பரதேசிக்கு அதைப் புசிக்கக்கொடுக்கலாம்; அல்லது அந்நியனுக்கு அதை விற்றுப்போடலாம்; நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஜனங்கள். வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியை அதின் தாயின் பாலிலே சமைக்கவேண்டாம்.

21. Don't eat any animal that has died by itself. You may give the dead animal to the foreigner in your town, and he can eat it. Or you may sell the dead animal to a foreigner. But you yourselves must not eat the dead animal, because you belong to the Lord your God. You are his special people. 'Don't cook a baby goat in its mother's milk.

22. நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு எப்பொழுதும் பயந்திருக்கப் பழகும்படிக்கு, வருஷந்தோறும் நீ விதைக்கிற விதைப்பினாலே வயலில் விளையும் எல்லாப் பலனிலும் தசமபாகத்தைப் பிரித்து,

22. Every year you must be sure to save one-tenth of all the crops that grow in your fields.

23. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது நாமம் விளங்கும்படி தெரிந்துகொள்ளும் ஸ்தானத்திலே, உன் தானியத்திலும் உன் திராட்சரசத்திலும் உன் எண்ணெயிலும் தசமபாகத்தையும் உன் ஆடுமாடுகளின் தலையீற்றுகளையும் அவருடைய சந்நிதியில் புசிப்பாயாக.

23. Then you must go to the place the Lord chooses to be the home for his name. You will go there to be with the Lord your God. At that place you will eat the tenth of your crops�one-tenth of your grain, your new wine, your oil, and the first animals born in your herds and flocks. In this way you will always remember to respect the Lord your God.

24. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும் காலத்தில், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது நாமம் விளங்கும்படி தெரிந்துகொண்ட ஸ்தானம் உனக்கு வெகு தூரமாயிருக்கிறதினால், வழிப்பிரயாணத்தின் வெகு தொலைவினிமித்தம், நீ அதைக் கொண்டுபோகக்கூடாதிருக்குமானால்,

24. But that place might be too far for you to travel to. Maybe you will not be able to carry one-tenth of all the crops that the Lord has blessed you with. If that happens,

25. அதைப் பணமாக்கி, பணமுடிப்பை உன் கையிலே பிடித்துக்கொண்டு, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தெரிந்துகொண்ட ஸ்தலத்திற்குப் போய்,

25. sell that part of your crops and take the money with you to the special place the Lord has chosen.

26. அங்கே உன் இஷ்டப்படி ஆடுமாடு, திராட்சரசம், மதுபானம் முதலான சகலத்தையும் பணம்கொடுத்து வாங்கி, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில், நீயும் உன் குடும்பத்தாரும் உன் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற லேவியனும் புசித்துச் சந்தோஷப்படுவீர்களாக.

26. Use the money to buy anything you want�cattle, sheep, wine or beer or any other food. Then you and your family should eat and enjoy yourselves there in that place with the Lord your God.

27. லேவியனுக்கு உன்னோடே பங்கும் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லாதபடியால் அவனைக் கைவிடாயாக.

27. But don't forget the Levites living in your town. Share your food with them because they don't have a share of the land like you have.

28. மூன்றாம் வருஷத்தின் முடிவிலே அவ்வருஷத்தில் உனக்கு வந்த பலன் எல்லாவற்றிலும் தசமபாகத்தைப் பிரித்து, உன் வாசல்களில் வைக்கக்கடவாய்.

28. At the end of every three years, you must gather one-tenth of your harvest for that year. Store this food in your towns.

29. லேவியனுக்கு உன்னோடே பங்கும் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லாதபடியினால், அவனும், உன் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற பரதேசியும், திக்கற்றவனும், விதவையும் வந்து புசித்துத் திருப்தியடைவார்களாக; அப்பொழுது உன் கை செய்யும் வேலையிலெல்லாம் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிப்பார்.

29. This food is for the Levites, because they don't have any land of their own. This food is also for other people in your towns that need it�for foreigners, widows, and orphans. If you do this, the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.
