1. நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் பிள்ளைகள்; செத்தவனுக்காகக் கீறிக்கொள்ளாமலும், உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு இடையிலே சவரம்பண்ணாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.
ரோமர் 9:4

1. Ye are the children of the Lord your God. Ye shall not cut yourselues, nor make you any baldnesse betweene your eyes for the dead.

2. நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தமான ஜனங்கள்; பூமியின் மீதெங்குமுள்ள எல்லா ஜனங்களிலும் உங்களையே கர்த்தர் தமக்குச் சொந்த ஜனங்களாயிருக்கத் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.
தீத்து 2:14, 1 பேதுரு 2:9, ரோமர் 9:4

2. For thou art an holy people vnto ye Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a precious people vnto himselfe, aboue all the people that are vpon the earth.

3. அருவருப்பானதொன்றையும் புசிக்க வேண்டாம்.

3. Thou shalt eate no maner of abomination.

4. நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தகும் மிருகங்களாவன: மாடும், செம்மறியாடும், வெள்ளாடும்,

4. These are the beastes, which ye shall eate, the beefe, the sheepe, and the goate,

5. மானும், வெளிமானும், கலைமானும், வரையாடும், புள்ளிமானும், சருகுமானும், புல்வாயுமே.

5. The hart, and the roe buck, and the bugle, and the wilde goate, and the vnicorne, and the wilde oxe, and the chamois.

6. மிருகங்களில் விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்து, குளம்புகள் இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்திருக்கிறதும், அசைபோடுகிறதுமான சகல மிருகங்களையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்;

6. And euery beast that parteth ye hoofe, and cleaueth the clift into two clawes, and is of the beasts that cheweth the cudde, that shall ye eate.

7. அசைபோடுகிறவைகளிலும், விரிகுளம்புள்ளவைகளிலும், நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தகாதவைகள் எவையென்றால்: ஒட்டகமும், முசலும், குழிமுசலுமே; அவைகள் அசைபோட்டும் அவைகளுக்கு விரிகுளம்பில்லை; அவைகள் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக.

7. But these ye shall not eate, of them that chew the cud, and of them that deuide and cleaue the hoofe onely: ye camell, nor the hare, nor the cony: for they chewe the cudde, but deuide not ye hoofe: therefore they shall be vncleane vnto you:

8. பன்றியும் புசிக்கத்தகாது; அது விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்தும், அசைபோடாதிருக்கும்; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; இவைகளின் மாம்சத்தைப் புசியாமலும் இவைகளின் உடலைத்தொடாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.

8. Also the swine, because he deuideth the hoofe, and cheweth not the cud, shalbe vncleane vnto you: ye shall not eate of their flesh, nor touch their dead carkeises.

9. ஜலத்திலிருக்கிற எல்லாவற்றிலும் சிறகும் செதிளும் உள்ளவைகளையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

9. These ye shall eate, of all that are in the waters: all that haue finnes and scales shall ye eate.

10. சிறகும் செதிளும் இல்லாத யாதொன்றையும் புசிக்கலாகாது; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக.

10. And whatsoeuer hath no finnes nor scales, ye shall not eate: it shall be vncleane vnto you.

11. சுத்தமான சகல பட்சிகளையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

11. Of all cleane birdes ye shall eate:

12. நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தகாதவைகள் எவையென்றால்: கழுகும், கருடனும், கடலுராஞ்சியும்,

12. But these are they, whereof ye shall not eate: the eagle, nor the goshawke, nor the osprey,

13. பைரியும், வல்லூறும், சகலவித பருந்தும்,

13. Nor the glead nor the kite, nor the vulture, after their kind,

14. சகலவித காகங்களும்,

14. Nor all kinde of rauens,

15. தீக்குருவியும், கூகையும், செம்புகமும், சகலவிதமான டேகையும்,

15. Nor the ostrich, nor the nightcrow, nor the semeaw, nor the hawke after her kinde,

16. ஆந்தையும், கோட்டானும், நாரையும்,

16. Neither the litle owle, nor the great owle, nor the redshanke,

17. கூழக்கடாவும், குருகும், நீர்க்காகமும்,

17. Nor the pellicane, nor the swanne, nor the cormorant:

18. கொக்கும், சகலவித ராஜாளியும், புழுக்கொத்தியும், வெளவாலுமே.

18. The storke also, and the heron in his kinde, nor the lapwing, nor the backe.

19. பறக்கிறவைகளில் ஊர்வன யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; அவைகள் புசிக்கத்தகாதவைகள்.

19. And euery creeping thing that flieth, shall be vncleane vnto you: it shall not be eaten.

20. சுத்தமான பறவைகள் யாவையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

20. But of all cleane foules ye may eate.

21. தானாய் இறந்து போனதொன்றையும் புசிக்கவேண்டாம்; உங்கள் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற பரதேசிக்கு அதைப் புசிக்கக்கொடுக்கலாம்; அல்லது அந்நியனுக்கு அதை விற்றுப்போடலாம்; நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஜனங்கள். வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியை அதின் தாயின் பாலிலே சமைக்கவேண்டாம்.

21. Ye shall eate of nothing that dieth alone, but thou shalt giue it vnto the stranger that is within thy gates, that he may eate it: or thou maiest sell it vnto a stranger: for thou art an holy people vnto the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mothers milke.

22. நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு எப்பொழுதும் பயந்திருக்கப் பழகும்படிக்கு, வருஷந்தோறும் நீ விதைக்கிற விதைப்பினாலே வயலில் விளையும் எல்லாப் பலனிலும் தசமபாகத்தைப் பிரித்து,

22. Thou shalt giue the tithe of all the increase of thy seede, that commeth foorth of the fielde yeere by yeere.

23. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது நாமம் விளங்கும்படி தெரிந்துகொள்ளும் ஸ்தானத்திலே, உன் தானியத்திலும் உன் திராட்சரசத்திலும் உன் எண்ணெயிலும் தசமபாகத்தையும் உன் ஆடுமாடுகளின் தலையீற்றுகளையும் அவருடைய சந்நிதியில் புசிப்பாயாக.

23. And thou shalt eate before the Lord thy God (in the place which he shall chose to cause his Name to dwell there) the tithe of thy corne, of thy wine, and of thine oyle, and the first borne of thy kine and of thy sheepe, that thou maiest learne to feare the Lord thy God alway.

24. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும் காலத்தில், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது நாமம் விளங்கும்படி தெரிந்துகொண்ட ஸ்தானம் உனக்கு வெகு தூரமாயிருக்கிறதினால், வழிப்பிரயாணத்தின் வெகு தொலைவினிமித்தம், நீ அதைக் கொண்டுபோகக்கூடாதிருக்குமானால்,

24. And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to cary it, because the place is farre from thee, where the Lord thy God shall chose to set his Name, when the Lord thy God shall blesse thee,

25. அதைப் பணமாக்கி, பணமுடிப்பை உன் கையிலே பிடித்துக்கொண்டு, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தெரிந்துகொண்ட ஸ்தலத்திற்குப் போய்,

25. Then shalt thou make it in money, and take the money in thine hand, and goe vnto the place which the Lord thy God shall chose.

26. அங்கே உன் இஷ்டப்படி ஆடுமாடு, திராட்சரசம், மதுபானம் முதலான சகலத்தையும் பணம்கொடுத்து வாங்கி, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில், நீயும் உன் குடும்பத்தாரும் உன் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற லேவியனும் புசித்துச் சந்தோஷப்படுவீர்களாக.

26. And thou shalt bestowe the money for whatsoeuer thine heart desireth: whether it be oxe, or sheepe, or wine, or strong drinke, or whatsoeuer thine heart desireth: and shalt eate it there before the Lord thy God, and reioyce, both thou, and thine household.

27. லேவியனுக்கு உன்னோடே பங்கும் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லாதபடியால் அவனைக் கைவிடாயாக.

27. And the Leuite that is within thy gates, shalt thou not forsake: for he hath neither part nor inheritance with thee.

28. மூன்றாம் வருஷத்தின் முடிவிலே அவ்வருஷத்தில் உனக்கு வந்த பலன் எல்லாவற்றிலும் தசமபாகத்தைப் பிரித்து, உன் வாசல்களில் வைக்கக்கடவாய்.

28. At the end of three yeere thou shalt bring foorth all the tithes of thine increase of the same yeere, and lay it vp within thy gates.

29. லேவியனுக்கு உன்னோடே பங்கும் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லாதபடியினால், அவனும், உன் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற பரதேசியும், திக்கற்றவனும், விதவையும் வந்து புசித்துத் திருப்தியடைவார்களாக; அப்பொழுது உன் கை செய்யும் வேலையிலெல்லாம் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிப்பார்.

29. Then ye Leuite shall come, because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee, and the stranger, and the fatherlesse, and the widowe, which are within thy gates, and shall eate, and be filled, that the Lord thy God may blesse thee in al the worke of thine hand which thou doest.
