1. கர்த்தாவே, உமது செவியைச் சாய்த்து, என் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டருளும்; நான் சிறுமையும் எளிமையுமானவன்.

1. A Prayer of David. INCLINE YOUR ear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and distressed, needy and desiring.

2. என் ஆத்துமாவைக் காத்தருளும், நான் பக்தியுள்ளவன்; என் தேவனே, உம்மை நம்பியிருக்கிற உமது அடியேனை நீர் இரட்சியும்.

2. Preserve my life, for I am godly and dedicated; O my God, save Your servant, for I trust in You [leaning and believing on You, committing all and confidently looking to You, without fear or doubt].

3. ஆண்டவரே, எனக்கு இரங்கும், நாடோறும் உம்மை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறேன்.

3. Be merciful and gracious to me, O Lord, for to You do I cry all the day.

4. உமது அடியேனுடைய ஆத்துமாவை மகிழ்ச்சியாக்கும்; ஆண்டவரே, உம்மிடத்தில் என் ஆத்துமாவை உயர்த்துகிறேன்.

4. Make me, Your servant, to rejoice, O Lord, for to You do I lift myself up.

5. ஆண்டவரே, நீர் நல்லவரும், மன்னிக்கிறவரும், உம்மை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிற யாவர்மேலும் கிருபை மிகுந்தவருமாயிருக்கிறீர்.

5. For You, O Lord, are good, and ready to forgive [our trespasses, sending them away, letting them go completely and forever]; and You are abundant in mercy and loving-kindness to all those who call upon You.

6. கர்த்தாவே, என் ஜெபத்திற்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, என் விண்ணப்பங்களின் சத்தத்தைத் கவனியும்.

6. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; and listen to the cry of my supplications.

7. நான் துயரப்படுகிற நாளில் உம்மை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுவேன்; நீர் என்னைக் கேட்டருளுவீர்.

7. In the day of my trouble I will call on You, for You will answer me.

8. ஆண்டவரே, தேவர்களுக்குள்ளே உமக்கு நிகருமில்லை; உம்முடைய கிரியைகளுக்கு ஒப்புமில்லை.

8. There is none like unto You among the gods, O Lord, neither are their works like unto Yours.

9. ஆண்டவரே, நீர் உண்டாக்கின எல்லா ஜாதிகளும் வந்து, உமக்கு முன்பாகப் பணிந்து, உமது நாமத்தை மகிமைப்படுத்துவார்கள்.

9. All nations whom You have made shall come and fall down before You, O Lord; and they shall glorify Your name.

10. தேவரீர் மகத்துவமுள்ளவரும் அதிசயங்களைச் செய்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிறீர்; நீர் ஒருவரே தேவன்.

10. For You are great and work wonders! You alone are God.

11. கர்த்தாவே, உமது வழியை எனக்குப் போதியும், நான் உமது சத்தியத்திலே நடப்பேன்; நான் உமது நாமத்திற்குப் பயந்திருக்கும்படி என் இருதயத்தை ஒருமுகப்படுத்தும்.

11. Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk and live in Your truth; direct and unite my heart [solely, reverently] to fear and honor Your name. [Ps. 5:11; 69:36.]

12. என் தேவனாகிய ஆண்டவரே; உம்மை என் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் துதித்து, உமது நாமத்தை என்றென்றைக்கும் மகிமைப்படுத்துவேன்.

12. I will confess and praise You, O Lord my God, with my whole (united) heart; and I will glorify Your name forevermore.

13. நீர் எனக்குப் பாராட்டின உமது கிருபை பெரியது; என் ஆத்துமாவைத் தாழ்ந்த பாதாளத்திற்குத் தப்புவித்தீர்.

13. For great is Your mercy and loving-kindness toward me; and You have delivered me from the depths of Sheol [from the exceeding depths of affliction].

14. தேவனே, அகங்காரிகள் எனக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்புகிறார்கள், கொடுமைக்காரராகிய கூட்டத்தார் என் பிராணனை வாங்கத் தேடுகிறார்கள், உம்மைத் தங்களுக்கு முன்பாக நிறுத்தி நோக்காதிருக்கிறார்கள்.

14. O God, the proud and insolent are risen against me; a rabble of violent and ruthless men has sought and demanded my life, and they have not set You before them.

15. ஆனாலும் ஆண்டவரே, நீர் மனவுருக்கமும், இரக்கமும், நீடிய பொறுமையும், பூரண கிருபையும், சத்தியமுமுள்ள தேவன்.

15. But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy and loving-kindness and truth.

16. என்மேல் நோக்கமாகி, எனக்கு இரங்கும்; உமது வல்லமையை உமது அடியானுக்கு அருளி, உமது அடியாளின் குமாரனை இரட்சியும்.

16. O turn to me and have mercy and be gracious to me; grant strength (might and inflexibility to temptation) to Your servant and save the son of Your handmaiden.

17. கர்த்தாவே, நீர் எனக்குத் துணைசெய்து என்னைத் தேற்றுகிறதை என் பகைஞர் கண்டு வெட்கப்படும்படிக்கு, எனக்கு அநுகூலமாக ஒரு அடையாளத்தைக் காண்பித்தருளும்.

17. Show me a sign of [Your evident] goodwill and favor, that those who hate me may see it and be put to shame, because You, Lord, [will show Your approval of me when You] help and comfort me.
