1. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் மறுபடியும் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தபடியால், கர்த்தர் அவர்களை நாற்பது வருஷமளவும் பெலிஸ்தர் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

1. And the sons of Israel add to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and Jehovah giveth them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

2. அப்பொழுது தாண் வம்சத்தானாகிய சோரா ஊரானான ஒரு மனுஷன் இருந்தான்; அவன் பேர் மனோவா; அவன் மனைவி பிள்ளைபெறாத மலடியாயிருந்தாள்.

2. And there is a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danite, and his name [is] Manoah, his wife [is] barren, and hath not borne;

3. கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் அந்த ஸ்திரீக்குத் தரிசனமாகி, அவளை நோக்கி: இதோ, பிள்ளைபெறாத மலடியான நீ கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெறுவாய்.

3. and a messenger of Jehovah appeareth unto the woman, and saith unto her, 'Lo, I pray thee, thou [art] barren, and hast not borne; when thou hast conceived, then thou hast borne a son.

4. ஆதலால் நீ திராட்சரசமும் மதுபானமும் குடியாதபடிக்கும், தீட்டானது ஒன்றும் புசியாதபடிக்கும் எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு.
லூக்கா 1:15

4. And, now, take heed, I pray thee, and do not drink wine, and strong drink, and do not eat any unclean thing,

5. நீ கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெறுவாய்; அவன் தலையின்மேல் சவரகன் கத்தி படலாகாது; அந்தப் பிள்ளை பிறந்ததுமுதல் தேவனுக்கென்று நசரேயனாயிருப்பான்; அவன் இஸ்ரவேலைப் பெலிஸ்தரின் கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சிக்கத் தொடங்குவான் என்றார்.

5. for, lo, thou art conceiving and bearing a son, and a razor doth not go up on his head, for a Nazarite to God is the youth from the womb, and he doth begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.'

6. அப்பொழுது அந்த ஸ்திரீ தன் புருஷனிடத்தில் வந்து: தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் ஒருவர் என்னிடத்தில் வந்தார்; அவருடைய சாயல் தேவனுடைய தூதரின் சாயலைப்போல மகா பயங்கரமாயிருந்தது; எங்கேயிருந்து வந்தீர் என்று நான் அவரிடத்தில் கேட்கவில்லை; அவர் தம்முடைய நாமத்தை எனக்குச் சொல்லவுமில்லை.

6. And the woman cometh and speaketh to her husband, saying, 'A man of God hath come unto me, and his appearance [is] as the appearance of a messenger of God, very fearful, and I have not asked him whence he [is], and his name he hath not declared to me;

7. அவர் என்னை நோக்கி: இதோ, நீ கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெறுவாய்; ஆதலால் நீ திராட்சரசமும் மதுபானமும் குடியாமலும், தீட்டானது ஒன்றும் புசியாமலும் இரு; அந்தப் பிள்ளை பிறந்தது முதல் தன் மரணநாள்மட்டும் தேவனுக்கென்று நசரேயனாயிருப்பான் என்று சொன்னார் என்றாள்.

7. and he saith to me, Lo, thou art pregnant, and bearing a son, and now do not drink wine and strong drink, and do not eat any unclean thing, for a Nazarite to God is the youth from the womb till the day of his death.'

8. அப்பொழுது மனோவா கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணி: ஆ, என் ஆண்டவரே, நீர் அனுப்பின தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் மறுபடியும் ஒரு விசை எங்களிடத்தில் வந்து, பிறக்கப்போகிற பிள்ளைக்காக நாங்கள் செய்யவேண்டியதை எங்களுக்குக் கற்பிப்பாராக என்று வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.

8. And Manoah maketh entreaty unto Jehovah, and saith, 'O, my Lord, the man of God whom Thou didst send, let him come in, I pray thee, again unto us, and direct us what we do to the youth who is born.'

9. தேவன் மனோவாவின் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தார்; அந்த ஸ்திரீ வயல்வெளியில் இருக்கும்போது தேவனுடைய தூதனானவர் திரும்பவும் அவளிடத்தில் வந்தார்; அப்பொழுது அவள் புருஷனாகிய மனோவா அவளோடே இருக்கவில்லை.

9. And God hearkeneth to the voice of Manoah, and the messenger of God cometh again unto the woman, and she [is] sitting in a field, and Manoah her husband is not with her,

10. ஆகையால் அந்த ஸ்திரீ சீக்கிரமாய் ஓடி, இதோ, அன்று என்னிடத்தில் வந்தவர் எனக்குத் தரிசனமானார் என்று தன் புருஷனுக்கு அறிவித்தாள்.

10. and the woman hasteth, and runneth, and declareth to her husband, and saith unto him, 'Lo, he hath appeared unto me -- the man who came on [that] day unto me.'

11. அப்பொழுது மனோவா எழுந்திருந்து, தன் மனைவியின் பின்னாலே போய், அவரிடத்துக்கு வந்து: இந்த ஸ்திரீயோடே பேசினவர் நீர்தானா என்று அவரிடத்தில் கேட்டான்; அவர் நான்தான் என்றார்.

11. And Manoah riseth, and goeth after his wife, and cometh unto the man, and saith to him, 'Art thou the man who spake unto the woman?' and he saith, 'I [am].'

12. அப்பொழுது மனோவா: நீர் சொன்ன காரியம் நிறைவேறும்போது, அந்தப் பிள்ளையை எப்படி வளர்க்கவேண்டும், அதை எப்படி நடத்தவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டான்.

12. And Manoah saith, 'Now let thy words come to pass; what is the custom of the youth -- and his work?'

13. கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் மனோவாவை நோக்கி: நான் ஸ்திரீயோடே சொன்ன யாவற்றிற்கும், அவள் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருந்து,

13. And the messenger of Jehovah saith unto Manoah, 'Of all that I said unto the woman let her take heed;

14. திராட்சச்செடியிலே உண்டாகிறதொன்றும் சாப்பிடாமலும், திராட்சரசமும் மதுபானமும் குடியாமலும், தீட்டானதொன்றும் புசியாமலும், நான் அவளுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டதையெல்லாம் கைக்கொள்ளக்கடவள் என்றார்.

14. of anything which cometh out from the wine-vine she doth not eat, and wine and strong drink she doth not drink, and any unclean thing she doth not eat; all that I have commanded her she doth observe.'

15. அப்பொழுது மனோவா கர்த்தருடைய தூதனை நோக்கி: நாங்கள் ஒரு வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியை உமக்காகச் சமைத்துக்கொண்டுவருமட்டும் தரித்திரும் என்றான்.

15. And Manoah saith unto the messenger of Jehovah, 'Let us detain thee, we pray thee, and prepare before thee a kid of the goats.'

16. கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் மனோவாவை நோக்கி: நீ என்னை இருக்கச் சொன்னாலும் நான் உன் உணவைப் புசியேன்; நீ சர்வாங்க தகனபலி இடவேண்டுமானால், அதை நீ கர்த்தருக்குச் செலுத்துவாயாக என்றார். அவர் கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் என்று மனோவா அறியாதிருந்தான்.

16. And the messenger of Jehovah saith unto Manoah, 'If thou detain me -- I do not eat of thy bread; and if thou prepare a burnt-offering -- to Jehovah thou dost offer it;' for Manoah hath not known that He [is] a messenger of Jehovah.

17. அப்பொழுது மனோவா கர்த்தருடைய தூதனை நோக்கி: நீர் சொன்ன காரியம் நிறைவேறும்போது, நாங்கள் உம்மைக் கனம்பண்ணும்படி, உம்முடைய நாமம் என்ன என்று கேட்டான்.

17. And Manoah saith unto the messenger of Jehovah, 'What [is] thy name? when thy words come to pass, then we have honoured thee.'

18. அதற்குக் கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர்: என் நாமம் என்ன என்று நீ கேட்க வேண்டியது என்ன? அது அதிசயம் என்றார்.

18. And the messenger of Jehovah saith to him, 'Why [is] this -- thou dost ask for My name? -- and it [is] Wonderful.'

19. மனோவா போய், வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியையும், போஜனபலியையும் கொண்டுவந்து, அதைக் கன்மலையின்மேல் கர்த்தருக்குச் செலுத்தினான்; அப்பொழுது மனோவாவும் அவன் மனைவியும் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், அதிசயம் விளங்கினது.

19. And Manoah taketh the kid of the goats, and the present, and offereth on the rock to Jehovah, and He is doing wonderfully, and Manoah and his wife are looking on,

20. அக்கினிஜூவாலை பலிபீடத்திலிருந்து வானத்திற்கு நேராக எழும்புகையில், கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் பலிபீடத்தின் ஜூவாலையிலே ஏறிப்போனார்; அதை மனோவாவும் அவன் மனைவியும் கண்டு, தரையிலே முகங்குப்புற விழுந்தார்கள்.

20. and it cometh to pass, in the going up of the flame from off the altar toward the heavens, that the messenger of Jehovah goeth up in the flame of the altar, and Manoah and his wife are looking on, and they fall on their faces to the earth,

21. பின்பு கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் மனோவாவுக்கும் அவன் மனைவிக்கும் காணப்படவில்லை; அப்பொழுது அவர் கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் என்று மனோவா அறிந்து,

21. and the messenger of Jehovah hath not added again to appear unto Manoah, and unto his wife, then hath Manoah known that He [is] a messenger of Jehovah.

22. தன் மனைவியைப் பார்த்து: நாம் தேவனைக் கண்டோம், சாகவே சாவோம் என்றான்.

22. And Manoah saith unto his wife, 'We certainly die, for we have seen God.'

23. அதற்கு அவன் மனைவி: கர்த்தர் நம்மைக் கொன்றுபோடச் சித்தமாயிருந்தால், அவர் நம்முடைய கையிலே சர்வாங்கதகனபலியையும் போஜனபலியையும் ஒப்புக்கொள்ளமாட்டார், இவைகளையெல்லாம் நமக்குக் காண்பிக்கவுமாட்டார், இவைகளை நமக்கு அறிவிக்கவுமாட்டார் என்றாள்.

23. And his wife saith to him, 'If Jehovah were desirous to put us to death, He had not received from our hands burnt-offering and present, nor shewed us all these things, nor as [at this] time caused us to hear [anything] like this.'

24. பின்பு அந்த ஸ்திரீ ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெற்று, அவனுக்குச் சிம்சோன் என்று பேரிட்டாள்; அந்தப் பிள்ளை வளர்ந்தது; கர்த்தர் அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்தார்.

24. And the woman beareth a son, and calleth his name Samson, and the youth groweth, and Jehovah doth bless him,

25. அவன் சோராவுக்கும் எஸ்தாவோலுக்கும் நடுவிலுள்ள தாணின் பாளயத்தில் இருக்கையில் கர்த்தருடைய ஆவியானவர் அவனை ஏவத்துவக்கினார்.

25. and the Spirit of Jehovah beginneth to move him in the camp of Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
