1. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் மறுபடியும் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தபடியால், கர்த்தர் அவர்களை நாற்பது வருஷமளவும் பெலிஸ்தர் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

1. Again the children of Israel did evil in the eyes of Jehovah, and Jehovah delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

2. அப்பொழுது தாண் வம்சத்தானாகிய சோரா ஊரானான ஒரு மனுஷன் இருந்தான்; அவன் பேர் மனோவா; அவன் மனைவி பிள்ளைபெறாத மலடியாயிருந்தாள்.

2. Now there was a certain man from Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren and had borne no children.

3. கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் அந்த ஸ்திரீக்குத் தரிசனமாகி, அவளை நோக்கி: இதோ, பிள்ளைபெறாத மலடியான நீ கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெறுவாய்.

3. And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to the woman and said to her, Behold now, you are barren and have borne no children, but you shall conceive and bear a son.

4. ஆதலால் நீ திராட்சரசமும் மதுபானமும் குடியாதபடிக்கும், தீட்டானது ஒன்றும் புசியாதபடிக்கும் எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு.

4. Now therefore, take heed and do not drink wine or strong drink, and do not eat anything unclean.

5. நீ கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெறுவாய்; அவன் தலையின்மேல் சவரகன் கத்தி படலாகாது; அந்தப் பிள்ளை பிறந்ததுமுதல் தேவனுக்கென்று நசரேயனாயிருப்பான்; அவன் இஸ்ரவேலைப் பெலிஸ்தரின் கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சிக்கத் தொடங்குவான் என்றார்.

5. For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. And no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite unto God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

6. அப்பொழுது அந்த ஸ்திரீ தன் புருஷனிடத்தில் வந்து: தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் ஒருவர் என்னிடத்தில் வந்தார்; அவருடைய சாயல் தேவனுடைய தூதரின் சாயலைப்போல மகா பயங்கரமாயிருந்தது; எங்கேயிருந்து வந்தீர் என்று நான் அவரிடத்தில் கேட்கவில்லை; அவர் தம்முடைய நாமத்தை எனக்குச் சொல்லவுமில்லை.

6. And the woman came and told her husband, saying, A Man of God has come to me, and His countenance was like the countenance of the Angel of God, very awesome; but I did not ask Him where He was from, and He did not tell me His name.

7. அவர் என்னை நோக்கி: இதோ, நீ கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெறுவாய்; ஆதலால் நீ திராட்சரசமும் மதுபானமும் குடியாமலும், தீட்டானது ஒன்றும் புசியாமலும் இரு; அந்தப் பிள்ளை பிறந்தது முதல் தன் மரணநாள்மட்டும் தேவனுக்கென்று நசரேயனாயிருப்பான் என்று சொன்னார் என்றாள்.

7. And He said to me, Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. Now drink no wine or strong drink, nor eat anything unclean, for the child shall be a Nazirite unto God from the womb to the day of his death.

8. அப்பொழுது மனோவா கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணி: ஆ, என் ஆண்டவரே, நீர் அனுப்பின தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் மறுபடியும் ஒரு விசை எங்களிடத்தில் வந்து, பிறக்கப்போகிற பிள்ளைக்காக நாங்கள் செய்யவேண்டியதை எங்களுக்குக் கற்பிப்பாராக என்று வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.

8. Then Manoah prayed to Jehovah, and said, O my Lord, please let the Man of God whom You sent come to us again and teach us what we shall do for the boy who is to be born.

9. தேவன் மனோவாவின் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தார்; அந்த ஸ்திரீ வயல்வெளியில் இருக்கும்போது தேவனுடைய தூதனானவர் திரும்பவும் அவளிடத்தில் வந்தார்; அப்பொழுது அவள் புருஷனாகிய மனோவா அவளோடே இருக்கவில்லை.

9. And God heeded the voice of Manoah, and the Angel of God came to the woman again as she was sitting in the field; but Manoah her husband was not with her.

10. ஆகையால் அந்த ஸ்திரீ சீக்கிரமாய் ஓடி, இதோ, அன்று என்னிடத்தில் வந்தவர் எனக்குத் தரிசனமானார் என்று தன் புருஷனுக்கு அறிவித்தாள்.

10. And the woman ran in haste and told her husband, and said to him, Behold, the Man who came to me the other day has appeared to me!

11. அப்பொழுது மனோவா எழுந்திருந்து, தன் மனைவியின் பின்னாலே போய், அவரிடத்துக்கு வந்து: இந்த ஸ்திரீயோடே பேசினவர் நீர்தானா என்று அவரிடத்தில் கேட்டான்; அவர் நான்தான் என்றார்.

11. And Manoah arose and followed his wife. When he came to the Man, he said to Him, Are You the Man who spoke to the woman? And He said, I am.

12. அப்பொழுது மனோவா: நீர் சொன்ன காரியம் நிறைவேறும்போது, அந்தப் பிள்ளையை எப்படி வளர்க்கவேண்டும், அதை எப்படி நடத்தவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டான்.

12. And Manoah said, Now let Your words come to pass! What are the ordinances for the boy, and what are his works?

13. கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் மனோவாவை நோக்கி: நான் ஸ்திரீயோடே சொன்ன யாவற்றிற்கும், அவள் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருந்து,

13. And the Angel of Jehovah said to Manoah, Of all that I have said to the woman let her take heed.

14. திராட்சச்செடியிலே உண்டாகிறதொன்றும் சாப்பிடாமலும், திராட்சரசமும் மதுபானமும் குடியாமலும், தீட்டானதொன்றும் புசியாமலும், நான் அவளுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டதையெல்லாம் கைக்கொள்ளக்கடவள் என்றார்.

14. She shall not eat anything that comes from the vine, nor shall she drink wine or strong drink, nor eat anything unclean. All that I have commanded her let her take heed.

15. அப்பொழுது மனோவா கர்த்தருடைய தூதனை நோக்கி: நாங்கள் ஒரு வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியை உமக்காகச் சமைத்துக்கொண்டுவருமட்டும் தரித்திரும் என்றான்.

15. And Manoah said to the Angel of Jehovah, Please let us detain You, and we will prepare a young goat for You.

16. கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் மனோவாவை நோக்கி: நீ என்னை இருக்கச் சொன்னாலும் நான் உன் உணவைப் புசியேன்; நீ சர்வாங்க தகனபலி இடவேண்டுமானால், அதை நீ கர்த்தருக்குச் செலுத்துவாயாக என்றார். அவர் கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் என்று மனோவா அறியாதிருந்தான்.

16. And the Angel of Jehovah said to Manoah, Though you detain Me, I will not eat your food. But if you offer a burnt offering, you shall offer it unto Jehovah. (For Manoah did not know He was the Angel of Jehovah.)

17. அப்பொழுது மனோவா கர்த்தருடைய தூதனை நோக்கி: நீர் சொன்ன காரியம் நிறைவேறும்போது, நாங்கள் உம்மைக் கனம்பண்ணும்படி, உம்முடைய நாமம் என்ன என்று கேட்டான்.

17. And Manoah said to the Angel of Jehovah, What is Your name, that when Your words come to pass we may honor You?

18. அதற்குக் கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர்: என் நாமம் என்ன என்று நீ கேட்க வேண்டியது என்ன? அது அதிசயம் என்றார்.

18. And the Angel of Jehovah said to him, Why do you ask after My name, seeing it is incomprehensible?

19. மனோவா போய், வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியையும், போஜனபலியையும் கொண்டுவந்து, அதைக் கன்மலையின்மேல் கர்த்தருக்குச் செலுத்தினான்; அப்பொழுது மனோவாவும் அவன் மனைவியும் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், அதிசயம் விளங்கினது.

19. So Manoah took the young goat with the grain offering, and offered it upon the rock unto Jehovah. And He did an extraordinary thing while Manoah and his wife were watching;

20. அக்கினிஜூவாலை பலிபீடத்திலிருந்து வானத்திற்கு நேராக எழும்புகையில், கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் பலிபீடத்தின் ஜூவாலையிலே ஏறிப்போனார்; அதை மனோவாவும் அவன் மனைவியும் கண்டு, தரையிலே முகங்குப்புற விழுந்தார்கள்.

20. it happened as the flame went up toward the heavens from the altar; that the Angel of Jehovah ascended in the flame of the altar! And Manoah and his wife were watching this, and they fell on their faces to the ground.

21. பின்பு கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் மனோவாவுக்கும் அவன் மனைவிக்கும் காணப்படவில்லை; அப்பொழுது அவர் கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் என்று மனோவா அறிந்து,

21. And the Angel of Jehovah appeared no more to Manoah and his wife. Then Manoah knew that He was the Angel of Jehovah.

22. தன் மனைவியைப் பார்த்து: நாம் தேவனைக் கண்டோம், சாகவே சாவோம் என்றான்.

22. And Manoah said to his wife, We shall die the death, because we have seen God!

23. அதற்கு அவன் மனைவி: கர்த்தர் நம்மைக் கொன்றுபோடச் சித்தமாயிருந்தால், அவர் நம்முடைய கையிலே சர்வாங்கதகனபலியையும் போஜனபலியையும் ஒப்புக்கொள்ளமாட்டார், இவைகளையெல்லாம் நமக்குக் காண்பிக்கவுமாட்டார், இவைகளை நமக்கு அறிவிக்கவுமாட்டார் என்றாள்.

23. But his wife said to him, If Jehovah had desired to kill us, He would not have accepted a burnt offering and a grain offering from our hands, nor would He have shown us all these things, nor would He have told us such things as these at this time.

24. பின்பு அந்த ஸ்திரீ ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெற்று, அவனுக்குச் சிம்சோன் என்று பேரிட்டாள்; அந்தப் பிள்ளை வளர்ந்தது; கர்த்தர் அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்தார்.

24. And the woman bore a son and called his name Samson; and the child grew, and Jehovah blessed him.

25. அவன் சோராவுக்கும் எஸ்தாவோலுக்கும் நடுவிலுள்ள தாணின் பாளயத்தில் இருக்கையில் கர்த்தருடைய ஆவியானவர் அவனை ஏவத்துவக்கினார்.

25. And the Spirit of Jehovah began to move upon him at the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.
