1. ஒருவன் ஒரு ஸ்திரீயை விவாகம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டபின்பு, அவளிடத்தில் இலச்சையான காரியத்தைக் கண்டு, அவள்மேல் பிரியமற்றவனானால், அவன் தள்ளுதலின் சீட்டை எழுதி, அவள் கையிலே கொடுத்து, அவளைத் தன் வீட்டிலிருந்து அனுப்பிவிடலாம்.

1. When a man has taken a wife and married her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes, because he has found some uncleanness in her, then let him write her a bill of divorce and put it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

2. And when she has departed from his house, she goes and becomes another man's;

3. அந்த இரண்டாம் புருஷனும் அவளை வெறுத்து, தள்ளுதலின் சீட்டை எழுதி, அவள் கையிலே கொடுத்து, அவளைத் தன் வீட்டிலிருந்து அனுப்பிவிட்டாலும், அவளை விவாகம்பண்ணின அந்த இரண்டாம் புருஷன் இறந்துபோனாலும்,

3. and the latter husband hates her and writes her a bill of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house; or if the latter husband dies, he who took her to be his wife

4. அவள் தீட்டுப்பட்டபடியினால், அவளைத் தள்ளிவிட்ட அவளுடைய முந்தின புருஷன் திரும்பவும் அவளை மனைவியாகச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளக்கூடாது; அது கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக அருவருப்பானது; உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தின்மேல் பாவம் வரப்பண்ணாயாக.

4. her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife after she is defiled. For that is hateful before Jehovah. And you shall not cause the land to sin, which Jehovah your God gives you for an inheritance.

5. ஒருவன் ஒரு பெண்ணைப் புதிதாய் விவாகம்பண்ணியிருந்தால், அவன் யுத்தத்திற்குப் புறப்படவேண்டாம்; அவன்மேல் யாதொரு வேலையும் சுமத்தவேண்டாம்; அவன் ஒரு வருஷபரியந்தம் தன் வீட்டில் தன் இஷ்டப்படியிருந்து, தான் விவாகம்பண்ணின ஸ்திரீயைச் சந்தோஷப்படுத்துவானாக.

5. When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any duty. He shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife whom he has taken.

6. திரிகையின் அடிக்கல்லையாவது அதின் மேற்கல்லையாவது ஒருவரும் அடகாக வாங்கக்கூடாது; அது ஜீவனை அடகுவாங்குவதுபோலாகும்.

6. No man shall take the lower or the upper millstone to pledge, for he takes a man's life to pledge.

7. தன் சகோதரராகிய இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரில் ஒருவனைத் திருடி, அதினால் ஆதாயந்தேடி, அவனை விற்றுப்போட்ட ஒருவன் அகப்பட்டால், அந்தத் திருடன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும்; இப்படியே தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்கக்கடவாய்.

7. If a man is found stealing a person of his brothers, the sons of Israel, and makes a slave of him, or sells him, then that thief shall die. And you shall put evil away from among you.

8. குஷ்டரோகத்தைக்குறித்து லேவியராகிய ஆசாரியர் உங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கும் யாவையும் கவனித்துச் செய்யும்படி மிகவும் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; நான் அவர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே செய்யக் கவனமாயிருப்பீர்களாக.

8. Be careful in the plague of leprosy, that you watch carefully and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you. As I commanded them, you shall be careful to do.

9. நீங்கள் எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வருகிற வழியிலே உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் மிரியாமுக்குச் செய்ததை நினைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

9. Remember what Jehovah your God did to Miriam by the wayside, after you had come forth out of Egypt.

10. பிறனுக்கு நீ ஏதாகிலும் கடனாகக் கொடுத்தால், அவன் கொடுக்கும் அடகை வாங்க நீ அவன் வீட்டிற்குள் பிரவேசிக்கவேண்டாம்.

10. When you loan a loan of any kind to your brother, you shall not go into his house to bring forth his pledge.

11. வெளியே நிற்பாயாக; கடன் வாங்கினவன் அந்த அடகை வெளியே உன்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவருவானாக.

11. You shall stand outside, and the man to whom you loan shall bring the pledge outside to you.

12. அவன் தரித்திரனானால், நீ அவன் அடகை வைத்துக்கொண்டு நித்திரை செய்யாமல்,

12. And if the man is poor, you shall not sleep with his pledge.

13. அவன் தன் வஸ்திரத்தைப் போட்டுப் படுத்துக்கொண்டு உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி, பொழுதுபோகும்போது, திரும்ப அந்த அடகை அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்து விடவேண்டும்; அது உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக உனக்கு நீதியாயிருக்கும்.

13. You shall certainly give back to him the pledge at sundown, that he may sleep in his own clothing, and bless you. And it shall be righteousness to you before Jehovah your God.

14. உன் சகோதரரிலும், உன் தேசத்தின் வாசல்களிலுள்ள அந்நியரிலும் ஏழையும் எளிமையுமான கூலிக்காரனை ஒடுக்காயாக.

14. You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, of your brothers, or of your strangers that are in your land within your gates.

15. அவன் வேலைசெய்த நாளில்தானே, பொழுதுபோகுமுன்னே, அவன் கூலியை அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்துவிடவேண்டும்; அவன் ஏழையும் அதின்மேல் ஆவலுமாயிருக்கிறான்; அதைக் கொடாவிட்டால் அவன் உன்னைக்குறித்துக் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி முறையிடுவான்; அது உனக்குப் பாவமாயிருக்கும்.

15. At his day you shall give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down on it. For he is poor and sets his heart on it; lest he cry against you to Jehovah, and it shall be sin to you.

16. பிள்ளைகளுக்காகப் பிதாக்களும், பிதாக்களுக்காகப் பிள்ளைகளும் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டாம்; அவனவன் செய்த பாவத்தினிமித்தம் அவனவன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும்.

16. The fathers shall not be put to death for the sons, neither shall the sons be put to death for the fathers. Every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

17. நீ அந்நியனுடைய நியாயத்தையும் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளையின் நியாயத்தையும் புரட்டாமலும், விதவையின் வஸ்திரத்தை அடகாக வாங்காமலும் இருந்து,

17. You shall not pervert the rightful judgment of the stranger nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's clothing to pledge.

18. நீ எகிப்திலே அடிமையாயிருந்ததையும், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னை அங்கேயிருந்து மீட்டுக்கொண்டுவந்ததையும் நினைப்பாயாக; ஆகையால், இப்படிச் செய்யும்படி நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.

18. But you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and Jehovah your God redeemed you from there. Therefore I command you to do this thing.

19. நீ உன் பயிரை அறுக்கையில் உன் வயலிலே ஒரு அரிக்கட்டை மறதியாய் வைத்து வந்தாயானால், அதை எடுத்து வரும்படி திரும்பிப் போகவேண்டாம்; உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன் கைப்பிரயாசத்திலெல்லாம் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி, அதைப் பரதேசிக்கும் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைக்கும் விதவைக்கும் விட்டுவிடுவாயாக.

19. When you cut down your harvest in your field, and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go again to bring it. It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow; so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all the work of your hand.

20. நீ உன் ஒலிவமரத்தை உதிர்த்து விட்டபின்பு, கொம்பிலே தப்பியிருக்கிறதைப் பறிக்கும்படி திரும்பிப் போகவேண்டாம்; அதைப் பரதேசிக்கும் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைக்கும் விதவைக்கும் விட்டுவிடுவாயாக;

20. When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the boughs again. It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

21. நீ உன் திராட்சப்பழங்களை அறுத்த பின்பு, மறுபடியும் அதை அறுக்கத் திரும்பிப்போகவேண்டாம்; அதைப் பரதேசிக்கும் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைக்கும் விதவைக்கும் விட்டுவிடுவாயாக.

21. When you gather the grapes from your vineyard, you shall not glean afterward. It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

22. நீ எகிப்திலே அடிமையாயிருந்ததை நினைப்பாயாக; ஆகையால், இப்படிச் செய்யும்படி நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.

22. And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt. Therefore I command you to do this thing.
