1. ஒருவன் ஒரு ஸ்திரீயை விவாகம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டபின்பு, அவளிடத்தில் இலச்சையான காரியத்தைக் கண்டு, அவள்மேல் பிரியமற்றவனானால், அவன் தள்ளுதலின் சீட்டை எழுதி, அவள் கையிலே கொடுத்து, அவளைத் தன் வீட்டிலிருந்து அனுப்பிவிடலாம்.

1. When a man taketh a wife, and marrieth her, if so be shee finde no fauour in his eyes, because hee hath espyed some filthinesse in her, then let him write her a bill of diuorcement, and put it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

2. அவள் அவனுடைய வீட்டைவிட்டுப் போனபின்பு, வேறொருவனுக்கு மனைவியாகலாம்.

2. And when she is departed out of his house, and gone her way, and marrie with an other man,

3. அந்த இரண்டாம் புருஷனும் அவளை வெறுத்து, தள்ளுதலின் சீட்டை எழுதி, அவள் கையிலே கொடுத்து, அவளைத் தன் வீட்டிலிருந்து அனுப்பிவிட்டாலும், அவளை விவாகம்பண்ணின அந்த இரண்டாம் புருஷன் இறந்துபோனாலும்,

3. And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a letter of diuorcement, and put it in her hand, and send her out of his house, or if the latter man die which tooke her to wife:

4. அவள் தீட்டுப்பட்டபடியினால், அவளைத் தள்ளிவிட்ட அவளுடைய முந்தின புருஷன் திரும்பவும் அவளை மனைவியாகச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளக்கூடாது; அது கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக அருவருப்பானது; உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தின்மேல் பாவம் வரப்பண்ணாயாக.

4. Then her first husband, which sent her away, may not take her againe to be his wife, after that she is defiled: for that is abomination in the sight of the Lord, and thou shalt not cause the land to sinne, which the Lord thy God doeth giue thee to inherite.

5. ஒருவன் ஒரு பெண்ணைப் புதிதாய் விவாகம்பண்ணியிருந்தால், அவன் யுத்தத்திற்குப் புறப்படவேண்டாம்; அவன்மேல் யாதொரு வேலையும் சுமத்தவேண்டாம்; அவன் ஒரு வருஷபரியந்தம் தன் வீட்டில் தன் இஷ்டப்படியிருந்து, தான் விவாகம்பண்ணின ஸ்திரீயைச் சந்தோஷப்படுத்துவானாக.

5. When a man taketh a new wife, he shall not goe a warfare, neither shalbe charged with any businesse, but shalbe free at home one yeere, and reioyce with his wife which he hath taken.

6. திரிகையின் அடிக்கல்லையாவது அதின் மேற்கல்லையாவது ஒருவரும் அடகாக வாங்கக்கூடாது; அது ஜீவனை அடகுவாங்குவதுபோலாகும்.

6. No man shall take the nether nor the vpper milstone to pledge: for this gage is his liuing.

7. தன் சகோதரராகிய இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரில் ஒருவனைத் திருடி, அதினால் ஆதாயந்தேடி, அவனை விற்றுப்போட்ட ஒருவன் அகப்பட்டால், அந்தத் திருடன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும்; இப்படியே தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்கக்கடவாய்.

7. If any man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh marchandise of him, or selleth him, that thiefe shall die: so shalt thou put euil away from among you.

8. குஷ்டரோகத்தைக்குறித்து லேவியராகிய ஆசாரியர் உங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கும் யாவையும் கவனித்துச் செய்யும்படி மிகவும் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; நான் அவர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே செய்யக் கவனமாயிருப்பீர்களாக.

8. Take heede of the plague of leprosie, that thou obserue diligently, and doe according to all that the Priestes of the Leuites shall teach you: take heede ye doe as I commanded them.

9. நீங்கள் எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வருகிற வழியிலே உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் மிரியாமுக்குச் செய்ததை நினைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

9. Remember what the Lord thy God did vnto Miriam by the way after that ye were come out of Egypt.

10. பிறனுக்கு நீ ஏதாகிலும் கடனாகக் கொடுத்தால், அவன் கொடுக்கும் அடகை வாங்க நீ அவன் வீட்டிற்குள் பிரவேசிக்கவேண்டாம்.

10. Whe thou shalt aske again of thy neighbour any thing lent, thou shalt not goe into his house to fet his pledge.

11. வெளியே நிற்பாயாக; கடன் வாங்கினவன் அந்த அடகை வெளியே உன்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவருவானாக.

11. But thou shalt stand without, and the man that borowed it of thee, shall bring the pledge out of the doores vnto thee.

12. அவன் தரித்திரனானால், நீ அவன் அடகை வைத்துக்கொண்டு நித்திரை செய்யாமல்,

12. Furthermore if it be a poore body, thou shalt not sleepe with his pledge,

13. அவன் தன் வஸ்திரத்தைப் போட்டுப் படுத்துக்கொண்டு உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி, பொழுதுபோகும்போது, திரும்ப அந்த அடகை அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்து விடவேண்டும்; அது உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக உனக்கு நீதியாயிருக்கும்.

13. But shalt restore him the pledge when the sunne goeth downe, that he may sleepe in his raiment, and blesse thee: and it shalbe righteousnesse vnto thee before the Lord thy God.

14. உன் சகோதரரிலும், உன் தேசத்தின் வாசல்களிலுள்ள அந்நியரிலும் ஏழையும் எளிமையுமான கூலிக்காரனை ஒடுக்காயாக.

14. Thou shalt not oppresse an hyred seruant that is needie and poore, neyther of thy brethren, nor of the stranger that is in thy land within thy gates.

15. அவன் வேலைசெய்த நாளில்தானே, பொழுதுபோகுமுன்னே, அவன் கூலியை அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்துவிடவேண்டும்; அவன் ஏழையும் அதின்மேல் ஆவலுமாயிருக்கிறான்; அதைக் கொடாவிட்டால் அவன் உன்னைக்குறித்துக் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி முறையிடுவான்; அது உனக்குப் பாவமாயிருக்கும்.

15. Thou shalt giue him his hire for his day, neither shall the sunne goe downe vpon it: for he is poore, and therewith susteineth his life: lest he crye against thee vnto the Lord, and it be sinne vnto thee.

16. பிள்ளைகளுக்காகப் பிதாக்களும், பிதாக்களுக்காகப் பிள்ளைகளும் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டாம்; அவனவன் செய்த பாவத்தினிமித்தம் அவனவன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும்.

16. The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children put to death for the fathers, but euery man shalbe put to death for his owne sinne.

17. நீ அந்நியனுடைய நியாயத்தையும் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளையின் நியாயத்தையும் புரட்டாமலும், விதவையின் வஸ்திரத்தை அடகாக வாங்காமலும் இருந்து,

17. Thou shalt not peruert the right of the stranger, nor of the fatherlesse, nor take a widowes rayment to pledge.

18. நீ எகிப்திலே அடிமையாயிருந்ததையும், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னை அங்கேயிருந்து மீட்டுக்கொண்டுவந்ததையும் நினைப்பாயாக; ஆகையால், இப்படிச் செய்யும்படி நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.

18. But remember that thou wast a seruant in Egypt, and howe the Lord thy God deliuered thee thence. Therefore I commaund thee to doe this thing.

19. நீ உன் பயிரை அறுக்கையில் உன் வயலிலே ஒரு அரிக்கட்டை மறதியாய் வைத்து வந்தாயானால், அதை எடுத்து வரும்படி திரும்பிப் போகவேண்டாம்; உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன் கைப்பிரயாசத்திலெல்லாம் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி, அதைப் பரதேசிக்கும் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைக்கும் விதவைக்கும் விட்டுவிடுவாயாக.

19. When thou cuttest downe thine haruest in thy fielde, and hast forgotten a sheafe in the fielde, thou shalt not goe againe to fet it, but it shalbe for the stranger, for the fatherles, and for the widowe: that the Lord thy God may blesse thee in all the workes of thine hands.

20. நீ உன் ஒலிவமரத்தை உதிர்த்து விட்டபின்பு, கொம்பிலே தப்பியிருக்கிறதைப் பறிக்கும்படி திரும்பிப் போகவேண்டாம்; அதைப் பரதேசிக்கும் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைக்கும் விதவைக்கும் விட்டுவிடுவாயாக;

20. When thou beatest thine oliue tree, thou shalt not goe ouer the boughes againe, but it shalbe for the stranger, for the fatherlesse, and for the widowe.

21. நீ உன் திராட்சப்பழங்களை அறுத்த பின்பு, மறுபடியும் அதை அறுக்கத் திரும்பிப்போகவேண்டாம்; அதைப் பரதேசிக்கும் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைக்கும் விதவைக்கும் விட்டுவிடுவாயாக.

21. When thou gatherest thy vineyard, thou shalt not gather the grapes cleane after thee, but they shalbe for the stranger, for the fatherlesse, and for the widowe.

22. நீ எகிப்திலே அடிமையாயிருந்ததை நினைப்பாயாக; ஆகையால், இப்படிச் செய்யும்படி நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.

22. And remember that thou wast a seruant in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to doe this thing.
