1. அத்தருணத்திலே அநேகமாயிரம் ஜனங்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் மிதிக்கத்தக்கதாகக் கூடிவந்திருக்கையில், அவர் முதலாவது தம்முடைய சீஷரை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் மாயமாகிய பரிசேயருடைய புளித்தமாவைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்.

1. At which time the myriads of the multitude having been gathered together, so as to tread upon one another, he began to say unto his disciples, first, 'Take heed to yourselves of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy;

2. வெளியாக்கப்படாத மறைபொருளுமில்லை, அறியப்படாத இரகசியமுமில்லை.

2. and there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known;

3. ஆதலால், நீங்கள் இருளிலே பேசினது எதுவோ, அது வெளிச்சத்திலே கேட்கப்படும்; நீங்கள் அறைகளில் காதிலே சொன்னது எதுவோ, அது வீடுகளின்மேல் கூறப்படும்.

3. because whatever in the darkness ye said, in the light shall be heard: and what to the ear ye spake in the inner-chambers, shall be proclaimed upon the house-tops.

4. என் சிநேகிதராகிய உங்களுக்கு நான் சொல்லுகிறேன்: சரீரத்தைக் கொலைசெய்து, அதன்பின்பு அதிகமாக ஒன்றும் செய்யத் திராணியில்லாதவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படாதிருங்கள்.

4. 'And I say to you, my friends, be not afraid of those killing the body, and after these things are not having anything over to do;

5. நீங்கள் இன்னாருக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டுமென்று உங்களுக்குக் காண்பிக்கிறேன்: கொலைசெய்தபின்பு நரகத்திலேதள்ள வல்லமையுள்ளவருக்குப் பயப்படுங்கள்; ஆம், அவருக்கே பயப்படுங்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

5. but I will show to you, whom ye may fear; Fear him who, after the killing, is having authority to cast to the gehenna; yes, I say to you, Fear ye Him.

6. இரண்டு காசுக்கு ஐந்து அடைக்கலான் குருவிகளை விற்கிறார்களல்லவா? அவைகளில் ஒன்றாகிலும் தேவனால் மறக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

6. 'Are not five sparrows sold for two assars? and one of them is not forgotten before God,

7. உங்கள் தலையிலுள்ள மயிரெல்லாம் எண்ணப்பட்டிருக்கிறது, ஆகையால் பயப்படாதிருங்கள், அநேகம் அடைக்கலான் குருவிகளைப்பார்க்கிலும், நீங்கள் விசேஷித்தவர்களாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

7. but even the hairs of your head have been all numbered; therefore fear ye not, than many sparrows ye are of more value.

8. அன்றியும் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்: மனுஷர் முன்பாக என்னை அறிக்கைப்பண்ணுகிறவன் எவனோ, அவனை மனுஷகுமாரனும் தேவதூதர் முன்பாக அறிக்கைபண்ணுவார்.

8. 'And I say to you, Every one -- whoever may confess with me before men, the Son of Man also shall confess with him before the messengers of God,

9. மனுஷர் முன்பாக என்னை மறுதலிக்கிறவன் தேவதூதர் முன்பாக மறுதலிக்கப்படுவான்.

9. and he who hath denied me before men, shall be denied before the messengers of God,

10. எவனாகிலும் மனுஷகுமாரனுக்கு விரோதமான விசேஷத்தைச் சொன்னால் அது அவனுக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படும்; பரிசுத்த ஆவிக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தூஷணஞ்சொல்லுகிறவனுக்கோ மன்னிக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

10. and every one whoever shall say a word to the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven to him, but to him who to the Holy Spirit did speak evil, it shall not be forgiven.

11. அன்றியும், ஜெப ஆலயத்தலைவர்களுக்கும் துரைத்தனத்தார்களுக்கும் அதிகாரமுள்ளவர்களுக்கும் முன்பாக உங்களைக் கொண்டுபோய்விடும்போது: எப்படி, என்னத்தை மாறுத்தரமாகச் சொல்லுவோம் என்றும், எதைப் பேசுவோம் என்றும் கவலைப்படாதிருங்கள்.

11. 'And when they bring you before the synagogues, and the rulers, and the authorities, be not anxious how or what ye may reply, or what ye may say,

12. நீங்கள் பேசவேண்டியவைகளைப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் அந்நேரத்திலே உங்களுக்குப் போதிப்பார் என்றார்.

12. for the Holy Spirit shall teach you in that hour what it behoveth [you] to say.'

13. அப்பொழுது ஜனக்கூட்டத்தில் ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: போதகரே, ஆஸ்தியைப் பாகம்பிரித்து என் வீதத்தை எனக்குத்தரும்படி என் சகோதரனுக்குக் கட்டளையிடவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டான்.

13. And a certain one said to him, out of the multitude, 'Teacher, say to my brother to divide with me the inheritance.'

14. அதற்கு அவர்: மனுஷனே, என்னை உங்களுக்கு நியாயாதிபதியாகவும் பங்கிடுகிறவனாகவும் வைத்தவன் யார் என்றார்.

14. And he said to him, 'Man, who set me a judge or a divider over you?'

15. பின்பு அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: பொருளாசையைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; ஏனெனில் ஒருவனுக்கு எவ்வளவு திரளான ஆஸ்தி இருந்தாலும் அது அவனுக்கு ஜீவன் அல்ல என்றார்.

15. And he said unto them, 'Observe, and beware of the covetousness, because not in the abundance of one's goods is his life.'

16. அல்லாமலும், ஒரு உவமையை அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னார்: ஐசுவரியமுள்ள ஒருவனுடைய நிலம் நன்றாய் விளைந்தது.

16. And he spake a simile unto them, saying, 'Of a certain rich man the field brought forth well;

17. அப்பொழுது அவன்: நான் என்ன செய்வேன்? என் தானியங்களைச் சேர்த்துவைக்கிறதற்கு இடமில்லையே;

17. and he was reasoning within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have not where I shall gather together my fruits?

18. நான் ஒன்று செய்வேன், என் களஞ்சியங்களை இடித்து, பெரிதாகக் கட்டி, எனக்கு விளைந்த தானியத்தையும் என் பொருள்களையும் அங்கே சேர்த்துவைத்து,

18. and he said, This I will do, I will take down my storehouses, and greater ones I will build, and I will gather together there all my products and my good things,

19. பின்பு: ஆத்துமாவே, உனக்காக அநேக வருஷங்களுக்கு அநேகம் பொருள்கள் சேர்த்து வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; நீ இளைப்பாறி, புசித்துக் குடித்து, பூரிப்பாயிரு என்று என் ஆத்துமாவோடே சொல்லுவேன் என்று தனக்குள்ளே சிந்தித்துச் சொல்லிக்கொண்டான்.

19. and I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast many good things laid up for many years, be resting, eat, drink, be merry.

20. தேவனோ அவனை நோக்கி: மதிகேடனே, உன் ஆத்துமா உன்னிடத்திலிருந்து இந்த இராத்திரியிலே எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படும், அப்பொழுது நீ சேகரித்தவைகள் யாருடையதாகும் என்றார்.

20. 'And God said to him, Unthinking one! this night thy soul they shall require from thee, and what things thou didst prepare -- to whom shall they be?

21. தேவனிடத்தில் ஐசுவரியவானாயிராமல், தனக்காகவே பொக்கிஷங்களைச் சேர்த்துவைக்கிறவன் இப்படியே இருக்கிறான் என்றார்.

21. so [is] he who is treasuring up to himself, and is not rich toward God.'

22. பின்னும் அவர் தம்முடைய சீஷரை நோக்கி: இப்படியிருக்கிறபடியினால், என்னத்தை உண்போம் என்று உங்கள் ஜீவனுக்காகவும், என்னத்தை உடுப்போம் என்று உங்கள் சரீரத்துக்காகவும் கவலைப்படாதிருங்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

22. And he said unto his disciples, 'Because of this, to you I say, Be not anxious for your life, what ye may eat; nor for the body, what ye may put on;

23. ஆகாரத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் ஜீவனும், உடையைப்பார்க்கிலும் சரீரமும் விசேஷித்தவைகளாயிருக்கிறது.

23. the life is more than the nourishment, and the body than the clothing.

24. காகங்களைக் கவனித்துப்பாருங்கள், அவைகள் விதைக்கிறதுமில்லை அறுக்கிறதுமில்லை, அவைகளுக்குப் பண்டசாலையுமில்லை, களஞ்சியமுமில்லை, இல்லாவிட்டாலும் அவைகளையும் தேவன் பிழைப்பூட்டுகிறார்; பறவைகளைப்பார்க்கிலும் நீங்கள் எவ்வளவோ விசேஷித்தவர்களாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

24. 'Consider the ravens, that they sow not, nor reap, to which there is no barn nor storehouse, and God doth nourish them; how much better are ye than the fowls?

25. and who of you, being anxious, is able to add to his age one cubit?

26. If, then, ye are not able for the least -- why for the rest are ye anxious?

27. 'Consider the lilies, how do they grow? they labour not, nor do they spin, and I say to you, not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these;

28. இப்படியிருக்க, அற்பவிசுவாசிகளே, இன்றைக்குக் காட்டிலிருந்து நாளைக்கு அடுப்பிலே போடப்படுகிற புல்லுக்கு தேவன் இவ்விதமாக உடுத்துவித்தால், உங்களுக்கு உடுத்துவிப்பது அதிக நிச்சயமல்லவா?

28. and if the herbage in the field, that to-day is, and to-morrow into an oven is cast, God doth so clothe, how much more you -- ye of little faith?

29. ஆகையால், என்னத்தை உண்போம், என்னத்தைக் குடிப்போம் என்று, நீங்கள் கேளாமலும் சந்தேகப்படாமலும் இருங்கள்.

29. 'And ye -- seek not what ye may eat, or what ye may drink, and be not in suspense,

30. இவைகளையெல்லாம் உலகத்தார் நாடித் தேடுகிறார்கள்; இவைகள் உங்களுக்கு வேண்டியவைகளென்று உங்கள் பிதாவானவர் அறிந்திருக்கிறார்.

30. for all these things do the nations of the world seek after, and your Father hath known that ye have need of these things;

31. தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தையே தேடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது இவைகளெல்லாம் உங்களுக்குக் கூடக் கொடுக்கப்படும்.

31. but, seek ye the reign of God, and all these things shall be added to you.

32. பயப்படாதே சிறுமந்தையே, உங்களுக்கு ராஜ்யத்தைக் கொடுக்க உங்கள் பிதா பிரியமாயிருக்கிறார்.

32. 'Fear not, little flock, because your Father did delight to give you the reign;

33. உங்களுக்கு உள்ளவைகளை விற்றுப் பிச்சைகொடுங்கள், பழமையாய்ப் போகாத பணப்பைகளையும் குறையாத பொக்கிஷத்தையும் பரலோகத்திலே உங்களுக்குச் சம்பாதித்து வையுங்கள், அங்கே திருடன் அணுகுகிறதுமில்லை, பூச்சி கெடுக்கிறதுமில்லை.

33. sell your goods, and give alms, make to yourselves bags that become not old, a treasure unfailing in the heavens, where thief doth not come near, nor moth destroy;

34. உங்கள் பொக்கிஷம் எங்கே இருக்கிறதோ அங்கே உங்கள் இருதயமும் இருக்கும்.

34. for where your treasure is, there also your heart will be.

35. 'Let your loins be girded, and the lamps burning,

36. தங்கள் எஜமான் கலியாணத்திலிருந்து வந்து தட்டும்போது, உடனே அவருக்குத் திறக்கும்படி எப்பொழுது வருவார் என்று காத்திருக்கிற மனுஷருக்கு ஒப்பாகவும் இருங்கள்.

36. and ye like to men waiting for their lord, when he shall return out of the wedding feasts, that he having come and knocked, immediately they may open to him.

37. எஜமான் வரும்போது, விழித்திருக்கிறவர்களாகக் காணப்படுகிற ஊழியக்காரரே பாக்கியவான்கள். அவர் அரைகட்டிக்கொண்டு, அவர்களைப் பந்தியிருக்கச்செய்து, சமீபமாய் வந்து, அவர்களுக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்வார் என்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

37. 'Happy those servants, whom the lord, having come, shall find watching; verily I say to you, that he will gird himself, and will cause them to recline (at meat), and having come near, will minister to them;

38. அவர் இரண்டாம் ஜாமத்திலாவது மூன்றாம் ஜாமத்திலாவது வந்து, அவர்கள் அப்படியே இருக்கக்கண்டால், அவ்வூழியக்காரர் பாக்கியவான்கள்.

38. and if he may come in the second watch, and in the third watch he may come, and may find [it] so, happy are those servants.

39. திருடன் இன்னநேரத்தில் வருவான் என்று வீட்டெஜமானுக்குத் தெரிந்திருந்தால், அவன் விழித்திருந்து, தன் வீட்டைக் கன்னமிடவொட்டான் என்று அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.

39. 'And this know, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief doth come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through;

40. அந்தப்படியே நீங்கள் நினையாத நேரத்தில் மனுஷகுமாரன் வருவார், ஆகையால் நீங்களும் ஆயத்தமாயிருங்கள் என்றார்.

40. and ye, then, become ye ready, because at the hour ye think not, the Son of Man doth come.'

41. அப்பொழுது பேதுரு அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, இந்த உவமையை எங்களுக்கு மாத்திரம் சொல்லுகிறீரோ, எல்லாருக்கும் சொல்லுகிறீரோ என்று கேட்டான்.

41. And Peter said to him, 'Sir, unto us this simile dost thou speak, or also unto all?'

42. அதற்குக் கர்த்தர்: பணிவிடைக்காரருக்குத் தகுதியான காலத்திலே படிகொடுக்கும்படி எஜமான் அவர்கள்மேல் அதிகாரியாக வைக்கத்தக்க உண்மையும் விவேகமுமுள்ள விசாரணைக்காரன் யாவன்?

42. And the Lord said, 'Who, then, is the faithful and prudent steward whom the lord shall set over his household, to give in season the wheat measure?

43. எஜமான் வரும்போது அப்படியே செய்கிறவனாய்க் காணப்படுகிற ஊழியக்காரன் பாக்கியவான்.

43. Happy that servant, whom his lord, having come, shall find doing so;

44. தனக்குள்ளதெல்லாவற்றின்மேலும் அவனை விசாரணைக்காரனாக வைப்பான் என்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

44. truly I say to you, that over all his goods he will set him.

45. அந்த ஊழியக்காரனோ, என் எஜமான் வர நாள் செல்லும் என்று தனக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டு, வேலைக்காரரையும் வேலைக்காரிகளையும் அடிக்கவும், புசித்துக் குடித்து வெறிக்கவும் தலைப்பட்டால்,

45. 'And if that servant may say in his heart, My lord doth delay to come, and may begin to beat the men-servants and the maid-servants, to eat also, and to drink, and to be drunken;

46. அவன் நினையாத நாளிலும், அறியாத நேரத்திலும், அந்த ஊழியக்காரனுடைய எஜமான் வந்து, அவனைக் கடினமாய்த் தண்டித்து, உண்மையில்லாதவர்களோடே அவனுக்குப் பங்கை நியமிப்பான்.

46. the lord of that servant will come in a day in which he doth not look for [him], and in an hour that he doth not know, and will cut him off, and his portion with the unfaithful he will appoint.

47. தன் எஜமானுடைய சித்தத்தை அறிந்தும் ஆயத்தமாயிராமலும் அவனுடைய சித்தத்தின்படி செய்யாமலும் இருந்த ஊழியக்காரன் அநேக அடிகள் அடிக்கப்படுவான்.

47. 'And that servant, who having known his lord's will, and not having prepared, nor having gone according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes,

48. அறியாதவனாயிருந்து, அடிகளுக்கு ஏதுவானவைகளைச் செய்தவனோ, சில அடிகள் அடிக்கப்படுவான். எவனிடத்தில் அதிகங்கொடுக்கப்படுகிறதோ அவனிடத்தில் அதிகங்கேட்கப்படும்; மனுஷர் எவனிடத்தில் அதிகமாய் ஒப்புவிக்கிறார்களோ அவனிடத்தில் அதிகமாய்க் கேட்பார்கள்.

48. and he who, not having known, and having done things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few; and to every one to whom much was given, much shall be required from him; and to whom they did commit much, more abundantly they will ask of him.

49. பூமியின்மேல் அக்கினியைப் போடவந்தேன், அது இப்பொழுதே பற்றி எரியவேண்டுமென்று விரும்புகிறேன்.

49. 'Fire I came to cast to the earth, and what will I if already it was kindled?

50. ஆகிலும் நான் முழுகவேண்டிய ஒரு ஸ்நானமுண்டு, அது முடியுமளவும் எவ்வளவோ நெருக்கப்படுகிறேன்.

50. but I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how am I pressed till it may be completed!

51. நான் பூமியிலே சமாதானத்தை உண்டாக்கவந்தேன் என்று நினைக்கிறீர்களோ? சமாதானத்தையல்ல, பிரிவினையையே உண்டாக்கவந்தேன் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

51. 'Think ye that peace I came to give in the earth? no, I say to you, but rather division;

52. எப்படியெனில், இதுமுதல் ஒரே வீட்டிலே ஐந்துபேர் பிரிந்திருப்பார்கள், இரண்டுபேருக்கு விரோதமாய் மூன்றுபேரும், மூன்றுபேருக்கு விரோதமாய் இரண்டுபேரும் பிரிந்திருப்பார்கள்.

52. for there shall be henceforth five in one house divided -- three against two, and two against three;

53. தகப்பன் மகனுக்கும் மகன் தகப்பனுக்கும், தாய் மகளுக்கும் மகள் தாய்க்கும், மாமி மருமகளுக்கும் மருமகள் மாமிக்கும் விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருப்பார்கள் என்றார்.
மீகா 7:6

53. a father shall be divided against a son, and a son against a father, a mother against a daughter, and a daughter against a mother, a mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.'

54. பின்பு அவர் ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: மேற்கே மேகம் எழும்புகிறதை நீங்கள் காணும்போது, மழை வருமென்று சொல்லுகிறீர்கள்; அந்தப்படியுமாகும்.

54. And he said also to the multitudes, 'When ye may see the cloud rising from the west, immediately ye say, A shower doth come, and it is so;

55. தென்றல் அடிக்கிறதை நீங்கள் காணும்போது உஷ்ணம் உண்டாகுமென்று சொல்லுகிறீர்கள், அந்தப் படியுமாகும்.

55. and when -- a south wind blowing, ye say, that there will be heat, and it is;

56. மாயக்காரரே, பூமியின் தோற்றத்தையும் வானத்தின் தோற்றத்தையும் நிதானிக்க உங்களுக்குத் தெரியுமே, இந்தக் காலத்தையோ நிதானியாமற்போகிறதென்ன?

56. hypocrites! the face of the earth and of the heaven ye have known to make proof of, but this time -- how do ye not make proof of [it]?

57. நியாயம் இன்னதென்று நீங்களே தீர்மானியாமலிருக்கிறதென்ன?

57. 'And why, also, of yourselves, judge ye not what is righteous?

58. உனக்கு எதிராளியானவன் உன்னை அதிகாரியினிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோகிறபோது, வழியிலேதானே அவனிடத்திலிருந்து விடுதலையாகும்படி பிரயாசப்படு, இல்லாவிட்டால், அவன் உன்னை நியாயாதிபதிக்கு முன்பாகக் கொண்டுபோவான், நியாயாதிபதி உன்னைச் சேவகனிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பான், சேவகன் உன்னைச் சிறைசாலையில் போடுவான்.

58. for, as thou art going away with thy opponent to the ruler, in the way give diligence to be released from him, lest he may drag thee unto the judge, and the judge may deliver thee to the officer, and the officer may cast thee into prison;

59. நீ கடைசிக்காசைக் கொடுத்துத் தீர்க்குமட்டும், அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து புறப்படமாட்டாய் என்று உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

59. I say to thee, thou mayest not come forth thence till even the last mite thou mayest give back.'
