1. அத்தருணத்திலே அநேகமாயிரம் ஜனங்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் மிதிக்கத்தக்கதாகக் கூடிவந்திருக்கையில், அவர் முதலாவது தம்முடைய சீஷரை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் மாயமாகிய பரிசேயருடைய புளித்தமாவைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்.

1. At that time, when thousands of the people had come together, in such numbers that they were crushing one another, he said first to his disciples, Have nothing to do with the leaven of the Pharisees, which is deceit.

2. வெளியாக்கப்படாத மறைபொருளுமில்லை, அறியப்படாத இரகசியமுமில்லை.

2. But nothing is covered up, which will not come to light, or secret, which will not be made clear.

3. ஆதலால், நீங்கள் இருளிலே பேசினது எதுவோ, அது வெளிச்சத்திலே கேட்கப்படும்; நீங்கள் அறைகளில் காதிலே சொன்னது எதுவோ, அது வீடுகளின்மேல் கூறப்படும்.

3. So, whatever you have said in the dark, will come to men's hearing in the light, and what you have said secretly inside the house, will be made public from the house-tops.

4. என் சிநேகிதராகிய உங்களுக்கு நான் சொல்லுகிறேன்: சரீரத்தைக் கொலைசெய்து, அதன்பின்பு அதிகமாக ஒன்றும் செய்யத் திராணியில்லாதவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படாதிருங்கள்.

4. And I say to you, my friends, Have no fear of those who may put the body to death, and are able to do no more than that.

5. நீங்கள் இன்னாருக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டுமென்று உங்களுக்குக் காண்பிக்கிறேன்: கொலைசெய்தபின்பு நரகத்திலேதள்ள வல்லமையுள்ளவருக்குப் பயப்படுங்கள்; ஆம், அவருக்கே பயப்படுங்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

5. But I will make clear to you of whom you are to be in fear: of him who after death has power to send you to hell; yes, truly I say, Have fear of him.

6. இரண்டு காசுக்கு ஐந்து அடைக்கலான் குருவிகளை விற்கிறார்களல்லவா? அவைகளில் ஒன்றாகிலும் தேவனால் மறக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

6. Are not five sparrows given in exchange for two farthings? and God has every one of them in mind.

7. உங்கள் தலையிலுள்ள மயிரெல்லாம் எண்ணப்பட்டிருக்கிறது, ஆகையால் பயப்படாதிருங்கள், அநேகம் அடைக்கலான் குருவிகளைப்பார்க்கிலும், நீங்கள் விசேஷித்தவர்களாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

7. But even the hairs of your head are numbered. Have no fear: you are of more value than a flock of sparrows.

8. அன்றியும் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்: மனுஷர் முன்பாக என்னை அறிக்கைப்பண்ணுகிறவன் எவனோ, அவனை மனுஷகுமாரனும் தேவதூதர் முன்பாக அறிக்கைபண்ணுவார்.

8. And I say to you that to everyone who gives witness to me before men, the Son of man will give witness before the angels of God.

9. மனுஷர் முன்பாக என்னை மறுதலிக்கிறவன் தேவதூதர் முன்பாக மறுதலிக்கப்படுவான்.

9. But if anyone says before men that he has no knowledge of me, I will say that I have no knowledge of him before the angels of God.

10. எவனாகிலும் மனுஷகுமாரனுக்கு விரோதமான விசேஷத்தைச் சொன்னால் அது அவனுக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படும்; பரிசுத்த ஆவிக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தூஷணஞ்சொல்லுகிறவனுக்கோ மன்னிக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

10. And if anyone says a word against the Son of man, he will have forgiveness: but for him who says evil words against the Holy Spirit, there will be no forgiveness.

11. அன்றியும், ஜெப ஆலயத்தலைவர்களுக்கும் துரைத்தனத்தார்களுக்கும் அதிகாரமுள்ளவர்களுக்கும் முன்பாக உங்களைக் கொண்டுபோய்விடும்போது: எப்படி, என்னத்தை மாறுத்தரமாகச் சொல்லுவோம் என்றும், எதைப் பேசுவோம் என்றும் கவலைப்படாதிருங்கள்.

11. And when they take you before the Synagogues and the authorities and the rulers, take no thought about what answers you will give, or what you will say:

12. நீங்கள் பேசவேண்டியவைகளைப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் அந்நேரத்திலே உங்களுக்குப் போதிப்பார் என்றார்.

12. For the Holy Spirit will make clear to you in that very hour what to say.

13. அப்பொழுது ஜனக்கூட்டத்தில் ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: போதகரே, ஆஸ்தியைப் பாகம்பிரித்து என் வீதத்தை எனக்குத்தரும்படி என் சகோதரனுக்குக் கட்டளையிடவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டான்.

13. And one of the people said to him, Master, give an order to my brother to make division of the heritage with me.

14. அதற்கு அவர்: மனுஷனே, என்னை உங்களுக்கு நியாயாதிபதியாகவும் பங்கிடுகிறவனாகவும் வைத்தவன் யார் என்றார்.

14. But he said, Man, who made me a judge or a maker of decisions for you?

15. பின்பு அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: பொருளாசையைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; ஏனெனில் ஒருவனுக்கு எவ்வளவு திரளான ஆஸ்தி இருந்தாலும் அது அவனுக்கு ஜீவன் அல்ல என்றார்.

15. And he said to them, Take care to keep yourselves free from the desire for property; for a man's life is not made up of the number of things which he has.

16. And he said to them, in a story, The land of a certain man of great wealth was very fertile:

17. அப்பொழுது அவன்: நான் என்ன செய்வேன்? என் தானியங்களைச் சேர்த்துவைக்கிறதற்கு இடமில்லையே;

17. And he said to himself, What is to be done? for I have no place in which to put all my fruit.

18. நான் ஒன்று செய்வேன், என் களஞ்சியங்களை இடித்து, பெரிதாகக் கட்டி, எனக்கு விளைந்த தானியத்தையும் என் பொருள்களையும் அங்கே சேர்த்துவைத்து,

18. And he said, This I will do: I will take down my store-houses and make greater ones, and there I will put all my grain and my goods.

19. பின்பு: ஆத்துமாவே, உனக்காக அநேக வருஷங்களுக்கு அநேகம் பொருள்கள் சேர்த்து வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; நீ இளைப்பாறி, புசித்துக் குடித்து, பூரிப்பாயிரு என்று என் ஆத்துமாவோடே சொல்லுவேன் என்று தனக்குள்ளே சிந்தித்துச் சொல்லிக்கொண்டான்.

19. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have a great amount of goods in store, enough for a number of years; be at rest, take food and wine and be happy.

20. தேவனோ அவனை நோக்கி: மதிகேடனே, உன் ஆத்துமா உன்னிடத்திலிருந்து இந்த இராத்திரியிலே எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படும், அப்பொழுது நீ சேகரித்தவைகள் யாருடையதாகும் என்றார்.

20. But God said to him, You foolish one, tonight I will take your soul from you, and who then will be the owner of all the things which you have got together?

21. தேவனிடத்தில் ஐசுவரியவானாயிராமல், தனக்காகவே பொக்கிஷங்களைச் சேர்த்துவைக்கிறவன் இப்படியே இருக்கிறான் என்றார்.

21. So that is what comes to the man who gets wealth for himself, and has not wealth in the eyes of God.

22. பின்னும் அவர் தம்முடைய சீஷரை நோக்கி: இப்படியிருக்கிறபடியினால், என்னத்தை உண்போம் என்று உங்கள் ஜீவனுக்காகவும், என்னத்தை உடுப்போம் என்று உங்கள் சரீரத்துக்காகவும் கவலைப்படாதிருங்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

22. And he said to his disciples, For this reason I say to you, Take no thought for your life, about what food you will take, or for your body, how it may be clothed.

23. ஆகாரத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் ஜீவனும், உடையைப்பார்க்கிலும் சரீரமும் விசேஷித்தவைகளாயிருக்கிறது.

23. Is not life more than food, and the body than its clothing?

24. காகங்களைக் கவனித்துப்பாருங்கள், அவைகள் விதைக்கிறதுமில்லை அறுக்கிறதுமில்லை, அவைகளுக்குப் பண்டசாலையுமில்லை, களஞ்சியமுமில்லை, இல்லாவிட்டாலும் அவைகளையும் தேவன் பிழைப்பூட்டுகிறார்; பறவைகளைப்பார்க்கிலும் நீங்கள் எவ்வளவோ விசேஷித்தவர்களாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

24. Give thought to the ravens; they do not put seeds into the earth, or get together grain; they have no store-houses or buildings; and God gives them their food: of how much greater value are you than the birds!

25. கவலைப்படுகிறதினால் உங்களில் எவன் தன் சரீர அளவோடு ஒரு முழத்தைக் கூட்டுவான்.

25. And which of you by taking thought is able to make himself any taller?

26. மிகவும் அற்பமான காரியமுதலாய் உங்களால் செய்யக்கூடாதிருக்க, மற்றவைகளுக்காக நீங்கள் கவலைப்படுகிறதென்ன?

26. If, then, you are not able to do even that which is least, why are you troubled about the rest?

27. காட்டுப்புஷ்பங்கள் எப்படி வளருகிறதென்று கவனித்துப்பாருங்கள்; அவைகள் உழைக்கிறதுமில்லை, நூற்கிறதுமில்லை, என்றாலும் சாலொமோன் முதலாய்த் தன் சர்வமகிமையிலும் அவைகளில் ஒன்றைப்போலாகிலும் உடுத்தியிருந்ததில்லை என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

27. Give thought to the flowers: they do no work, they make no thread; and still I say to you, Even Solomon, in all his glory, was not clothed like one of these.

28. இப்படியிருக்க, அற்பவிசுவாசிகளே, இன்றைக்குக் காட்டிலிருந்து நாளைக்கு அடுப்பிலே போடப்படுகிற புல்லுக்கு தேவன் இவ்விதமாக உடுத்துவித்தால், உங்களுக்கு உடுத்துவிப்பது அதிக நிச்சயமல்லவா?

28. But if God gives such clothing to the grass in the field, which today is living, and tomorrow will be burned in the oven, how much more will he give clothing to you, O men of little faith?

29. ஆகையால், என்னத்தை உண்போம், என்னத்தைக் குடிப்போம் என்று, நீங்கள் கேளாமலும் சந்தேகப்படாமலும் இருங்கள்.

29. And do not give overmuch thought to your food and drink, and let not your mind be full of doubts.

30. இவைகளையெல்லாம் உலகத்தார் நாடித் தேடுகிறார்கள்; இவைகள் உங்களுக்கு வேண்டியவைகளென்று உங்கள் பிதாவானவர் அறிந்திருக்கிறார்.

30. For the nations of the world go in search of all these things: but your Father has knowledge that you have need of them.

31. தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தையே தேடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது இவைகளெல்லாம் உங்களுக்குக் கூடக் கொடுக்கப்படும்.

31. But let your chief care be for his kingdom, and these other things will be given to you in addition.

32. பயப்படாதே சிறுமந்தையே, உங்களுக்கு ராஜ்யத்தைக் கொடுக்க உங்கள் பிதா பிரியமாயிருக்கிறார்.

32. Have no fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

33. உங்களுக்கு உள்ளவைகளை விற்றுப் பிச்சைகொடுங்கள், பழமையாய்ப் போகாத பணப்பைகளையும் குறையாத பொக்கிஷத்தையும் பரலோகத்திலே உங்களுக்குச் சம்பாதித்து வையுங்கள், அங்கே திருடன் அணுகுகிறதுமில்லை, பூச்சி கெடுக்கிறதுமில்லை.

33. Give what property you have in exchange for money, and give the money to the poor; make for yourselves money-bags which will not get old, wealth stored up in heaven which will be yours for ever, where thieves will not come nor worms put it to destruction.

34. உங்கள் பொக்கிஷம் எங்கே இருக்கிறதோ அங்கே உங்கள் இருதயமும் இருக்கும்.

34. For where your wealth is, there will your heart be.

35. Be ready, dressed as for a journey, with your lights burning.

36. தங்கள் எஜமான் கலியாணத்திலிருந்து வந்து தட்டும்போது, உடனே அவருக்குத் திறக்கும்படி எப்பொழுது வருவார் என்று காத்திருக்கிற மனுஷருக்கு ஒப்பாகவும் இருங்கள்.

36. And be like men who are looking for their lord, when he comes back from the bride-feast; so that when he comes to the door, it will be open to him quickly.

37. எஜமான் வரும்போது, விழித்திருக்கிறவர்களாகக் காணப்படுகிற ஊழியக்காரரே பாக்கியவான்கள். அவர் அரைகட்டிக்கொண்டு, அவர்களைப் பந்தியிருக்கச்செய்து, சமீபமாய் வந்து, அவர்களுக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்வார் என்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

37. Happy are those servants who are watching when the lord comes; truly I say to you, he will make himself their servant and, placing them at the table, he will come out and give them food.

38. அவர் இரண்டாம் ஜாமத்திலாவது மூன்றாம் ஜாமத்திலாவது வந்து, அவர்கள் அப்படியே இருக்கக்கண்டால், அவ்வூழியக்காரர் பாக்கியவான்கள்.

38. And if he comes in the second division of the night or in the third, and they are watching for him, happy are those servants.

39. திருடன் இன்னநேரத்தில் வருவான் என்று வீட்டெஜமானுக்குத் தெரிந்திருந்தால், அவன் விழித்திருந்து, தன் வீட்டைக் கன்னமிடவொட்டான் என்று அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.

39. But be certain of this, that if the master of the house had had knowledge of the time when the thief was coming, he would have been watching, and would not have let his house be broken into.

40. அந்தப்படியே நீங்கள் நினையாத நேரத்தில் மனுஷகுமாரன் வருவார், ஆகையால் நீங்களும் ஆயத்தமாயிருங்கள் என்றார்.

40. So be ready: for the Son of man is coming at a time when you are not looking for him.

41. அப்பொழுது பேதுரு அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, இந்த உவமையை எங்களுக்கு மாத்திரம் சொல்லுகிறீரோ, எல்லாருக்கும் சொல்லுகிறீரோ என்று கேட்டான்.

41. And Peter said to him, Lord, are these words said to us only, or to all men?

42. அதற்குக் கர்த்தர்: பணிவிடைக்காரருக்குத் தகுதியான காலத்திலே படிகொடுக்கும்படி எஜமான் அவர்கள்மேல் அதிகாரியாக வைக்கத்தக்க உண்மையும் விவேகமுமுள்ள விசாரணைக்காரன் யாவன்?

42. And the Lord said, Who then is the wise and responsible servant whom his lord will put in control of his family, to give them their food at the right time?

43. எஜமான் வரும்போது அப்படியே செய்கிறவனாய்க் காணப்படுகிற ஊழியக்காரன் பாக்கியவான்.

43. Happy is that servant who, when his lord comes, is doing so.

44. தனக்குள்ளதெல்லாவற்றின்மேலும் அவனை விசாரணைக்காரனாக வைப்பான் என்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

44. Truly I say to you, he will put him in control of all his goods.

45. அந்த ஊழியக்காரனோ, என் எஜமான் வர நாள் செல்லும் என்று தனக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டு, வேலைக்காரரையும் வேலைக்காரிகளையும் அடிக்கவும், புசித்துக் குடித்து வெறிக்கவும் தலைப்பட்டால்,

45. But if that servant says to himself, My lord is a long time coming; and goes about giving blows to the men-servants and the women-servants, feasting and taking overmuch wine;

46. அவன் நினையாத நாளிலும், அறியாத நேரத்திலும், அந்த ஊழியக்காரனுடைய எஜமான் வந்து, அவனைக் கடினமாய்த் தண்டித்து, உண்மையில்லாதவர்களோடே அவனுக்குப் பங்கை நியமிப்பான்.

46. The lord of that servant will come at a time when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not ready for him, and he will have him cut in two and will give him his part in the fate of those who have no faith;

47. தன் எஜமானுடைய சித்தத்தை அறிந்தும் ஆயத்தமாயிராமலும் அவனுடைய சித்தத்தின்படி செய்யாமலும் இருந்த ஊழியக்காரன் அநேக அடிகள் அடிக்கப்படுவான்.

47. And the servant who had knowledge of his lord's desires and was not ready for him and did not do as he was ordered, will be given a great number of blows;

48. அறியாதவனாயிருந்து, அடிகளுக்கு ஏதுவானவைகளைச் செய்தவனோ, சில அடிகள் அடிக்கப்படுவான். எவனிடத்தில் அதிகங்கொடுக்கப்படுகிறதோ அவனிடத்தில் அதிகங்கேட்கப்படும்; மனுஷர் எவனிடத்தில் அதிகமாய் ஒப்புவிக்கிறார்களோ அவனிடத்தில் அதிகமாய்க் கேட்பார்கள்.

48. But he who, without knowledge, did things for which punishment is given, will get only a small number of blows. The man to whom much is given, will have to give much; if much is given into his care, of him more will be requested.

49. பூமியின்மேல் அக்கினியைப் போடவந்தேன், அது இப்பொழுதே பற்றி எரியவேண்டுமென்று விரும்புகிறேன்.

49. I came to send a fire on the earth, and it may even now have been lighted.

50. ஆகிலும் நான் முழுகவேண்டிய ஒரு ஸ்நானமுண்டு, அது முடியுமளவும் எவ்வளவோ நெருக்கப்படுகிறேன்.

50. But there is a baptism which I have to undergo; and how am I kept back till it is complete!

51. நான் பூமியிலே சமாதானத்தை உண்டாக்கவந்தேன் என்று நினைக்கிறீர்களோ? சமாதானத்தையல்ல, பிரிவினையையே உண்டாக்கவந்தேன் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

51. Is it your opinion that I have come to give peace on earth? I say to you, No, but division:

52. எப்படியெனில், இதுமுதல் ஒரே வீட்டிலே ஐந்துபேர் பிரிந்திருப்பார்கள், இரண்டுபேருக்கு விரோதமாய் மூன்றுபேரும், மூன்றுபேருக்கு விரோதமாய் இரண்டுபேரும் பிரிந்திருப்பார்கள்.

52. For from this time, a family of five in one house will be on opposite sides, three against two and two against three.

53. தகப்பன் மகனுக்கும் மகன் தகப்பனுக்கும், தாய் மகளுக்கும் மகள் தாய்க்கும், மாமி மருமகளுக்கும் மருமகள் மாமிக்கும் விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருப்பார்கள் என்றார்.
மீகா 7:6

53. They will be at war, the father against his son, and the son against his father; mother against daughter, and daughter against mother; mother-in-law against daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.

54. பின்பு அவர் ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: மேற்கே மேகம் எழும்புகிறதை நீங்கள் காணும்போது, மழை வருமென்று சொல்லுகிறீர்கள்; அந்தப்படியுமாகும்.

54. Then he said to the people, When you see a cloud coming up in the west, straight away you say, There will be rain; and so it is.

55. தென்றல் அடிக்கிறதை நீங்கள் காணும்போது உஷ்ணம் உண்டாகுமென்று சொல்லுகிறீர்கள், அந்தப் படியுமாகும்.

55. And when you see a south wind blowing, you say, There will be heat; and so it is.

56. மாயக்காரரே, பூமியின் தோற்றத்தையும் வானத்தின் தோற்றத்தையும் நிதானிக்க உங்களுக்குத் தெரியுமே, இந்தக் காலத்தையோ நிதானியாமற்போகிறதென்ன?

56. O false ones! the face of the earth and the heaven is clear to you; how is it that the signs of these times are not as clear to you?

57. நியாயம் இன்னதென்று நீங்களே தீர்மானியாமலிருக்கிறதென்ன?

57. And why are you, in your hearts, unable to be judges of what is right?

58. உனக்கு எதிராளியானவன் உன்னை அதிகாரியினிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோகிறபோது, வழியிலேதானே அவனிடத்திலிருந்து விடுதலையாகும்படி பிரயாசப்படு, இல்லாவிட்டால், அவன் உன்னை நியாயாதிபதிக்கு முன்பாகக் கொண்டுபோவான், நியாயாதிபதி உன்னைச் சேவகனிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பான், சேவகன் உன்னைச் சிறைசாலையில் போடுவான்.

58. For if anyone has a cause at law against you, and you are going with him before the ruler, make an attempt, on the way, to come to an agreement with him, for if you do not, he may take you before the judge and the judge will give you up to the police, and they will put you in prison.

59. நீ கடைசிக்காசைக் கொடுத்துத் தீர்க்குமட்டும், அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து புறப்படமாட்டாய் என்று உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

59. I say to you, You will not come out of it till you have made payment to the very last farthing.
