1. அத்தருணத்திலே அநேகமாயிரம் ஜனங்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் மிதிக்கத்தக்கதாகக் கூடிவந்திருக்கையில், அவர் முதலாவது தம்முடைய சீஷரை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் மாயமாகிய பரிசேயருடைய புளித்தமாவைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்.

1. As there gathered together(togedther) an innumerable multitude of people (insomuch that they trod one another) he began to say unto his disciples: First of all beware of the leaven of the pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

2. வெளியாக்கப்படாத மறைபொருளுமில்லை, அறியப்படாத இரகசியமுமில்லை.

2. For there is nothing covered,(hid) that shall not be uncovered:(discovered) neither hid,(secret) that shall not be known.

3. ஆதலால், நீங்கள் இருளிலே பேசினது எதுவோ, அது வெளிச்சத்திலே கேட்கப்படும்; நீங்கள் அறைகளில் காதிலே சொன்னது எதுவோ, அது வீடுகளின்மேல் கூறப்படும்.

3. Wherefore(For) whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness: that same shall be heard in light. And that which ye have spoken in the ear, even in secret places,(the chambers) shall be preached even on the top of the houses.

4. என் சிநேகிதராகிய உங்களுக்கு நான் சொல்லுகிறேன்: சரீரத்தைக் கொலைசெய்து, அதன்பின்பு அதிகமாக ஒன்றும் செய்யத் திராணியில்லாதவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படாதிருங்கள்.

4. I say unto you my friends: fear ye not(Be not afraid of) them that kill the body, and after that have nothing(no more) that he(they) can more do.

5. நீங்கள் இன்னாருக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டுமென்று உங்களுக்குக் காண்பிக்கிறேன்: கொலைசெய்தபின்பு நரகத்திலேதள்ள வல்லமையுள்ளவருக்குப் பயப்படுங்கள்; ஆம், அவருக்கே பயப்படுங்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

5. (But) I will shew you, whom ye shall fear. Fear him which after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell. Yea I say unto you, him fear.

6. இரண்டு காசுக்கு ஐந்து அடைக்கலான் குருவிகளை விற்கிறார்களல்லவா? அவைகளில் ஒன்றாகிலும் தேவனால் மறக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

6. Are not five sparrows bought for two farthings? and none(yet not one) of them is forgotten of God.

7. உங்கள் தலையிலுள்ள மயிரெல்லாம் எண்ணப்பட்டிருக்கிறது, ஆகையால் பயப்படாதிருங்கள், அநேகம் அடைக்கலான் குருவிகளைப்பார்க்கிலும், நீங்கள் விசேஷித்தவர்களாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

7. Yea(Also even) the very hairs of your heads are numbered. Fear not therefore: Ye are more of value, than many sparrows.

8. அன்றியும் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்: மனுஷர் முன்பாக என்னை அறிக்கைப்பண்ணுகிறவன் எவனோ, அவனை மனுஷகுமாரனும் தேவதூதர் முன்பாக அறிக்கைபண்ணுவார்.

8. I say unto you: Whosoever confesseth(knowledgeth) me before men, even him shall the son of man confess(knowledge) also before the angels of God.

9. மனுஷர் முன்பாக என்னை மறுதலிக்கிறவன் தேவதூதர் முன்பாக மறுதலிக்கப்படுவான்.

9. And he that denieth me before men: shall be denied before the angels of God.

10. எவனாகிலும் மனுஷகுமாரனுக்கு விரோதமான விசேஷத்தைச் சொன்னால் அது அவனுக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படும்; பரிசுத்த ஆவிக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தூஷணஞ்சொல்லுகிறவனுக்கோ மன்னிக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

10. And whosoever speaketh a word against the son of man it shall be forgiven him. But unto him that blasphemeth the holy ghost, it shall not be forgiven.

11. அன்றியும், ஜெப ஆலயத்தலைவர்களுக்கும் துரைத்தனத்தார்களுக்கும் அதிகாரமுள்ளவர்களுக்கும் முன்பாக உங்களைக் கொண்டுபோய்விடும்போது: எப்படி, என்னத்தை மாறுத்தரமாகச் சொல்லுவோம் என்றும், எதைப் பேசுவோம் என்றும் கவலைப்படாதிருங்கள்.

11. When they bring you unto their(the) synagogues, and unto their(the) rulers, and officers, take no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall speak.

12. நீங்கள் பேசவேண்டியவைகளைப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் அந்நேரத்திலே உங்களுக்குப் போதிப்பார் என்றார்.

12. For the holy ghost shall teach you in the same hour, what ye ought to say.

13. அப்பொழுது ஜனக்கூட்டத்தில் ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: போதகரே, ஆஸ்தியைப் பாகம்பிரித்து என் வீதத்தை எனக்குத்தரும்படி என் சகோதரனுக்குக் கட்டளையிடவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டான்.

13. One of the company(people) said unto him: Master, bid my brother divide the inheritance with me.

14. அதற்கு அவர்: மனுஷனே, என்னை உங்களுக்கு நியாயாதிபதியாகவும் பங்கிடுகிறவனாகவும் வைத்தவன் யார் என்றார்.
யாத்திராகமம் 2:14

14. And he said unto him: Man, who made me a judge, or a divider(heritage parter) over you?

15. பின்பு அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: பொருளாசையைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; ஏனெனில் ஒருவனுக்கு எவ்வளவு திரளான ஆஸ்தி இருந்தாலும் அது அவனுக்கு ஜீவன் அல்ல என்றார்.

15. Wherefore he said unto them: take heed, and beware of covetousness. For no man's life standeth in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.(goods)

16. அல்லாமலும், ஒரு உவமையை அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னார்: ஐசுவரியமுள்ள ஒருவனுடைய நிலம் நன்றாய் விளைந்தது.

16. And he put forth a similitude unto them saying: The lands(ground) of a certain (rich) man brought forth fruits plenteously,

17. அப்பொழுது அவன்: நான் என்ன செய்வேன்? என் தானியங்களைச் சேர்த்துவைக்கிறதற்கு இடமில்லையே;

17. and he thought in himself saying: what shall I do? because I have no room where to bestow(gather) my fruits?

18. நான் ஒன்று செய்வேன், என் களஞ்சியங்களை இடித்து, பெரிதாகக் கட்டி, எனக்கு விளைந்த தானியத்தையும் என் பொருள்களையும் அங்கே சேர்த்துவைத்து,

18. And he said: This will I do. I will destroy(break down) my barns, and build greater, and therein will I gather all my fruits,(mine increase) and my goods:

19. பின்பு: ஆத்துமாவே, உனக்காக அநேக வருஷங்களுக்கு அநேகம் பொருள்கள் சேர்த்து வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; நீ இளைப்பாறி, புசித்துக் குடித்து, பூரிப்பாயிரு என்று என் ஆத்துமாவோடே சொல்லுவேன் என்று தனக்குள்ளே சிந்தித்துச் சொல்லிக்கொண்டான்.

19. and I will say to my soul: Soul thou hast much goods laid up in store for many years, take thine ease: eat, drink and be merry.

20. தேவனோ அவனை நோக்கி: மதிகேடனே, உன் ஆத்துமா உன்னிடத்திலிருந்து இந்த இராத்திரியிலே எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படும், அப்பொழுது நீ சேகரித்தவைகள் யாருடையதாகும் என்றார்.

20. But God said unto him: Thou fool, this night will they fetch away(require) thy soul again from thee. Then whose shall those things be which thou hast provided?(prepared)

21. தேவனிடத்தில் ஐசுவரியவானாயிராமல், தனக்காகவே பொக்கிஷங்களைச் சேர்த்துவைக்கிறவன் இப்படியே இருக்கிறான் என்றார்.

21. So is it with him that gathered riches,(treasure for himself) and is not rich in God.

22. பின்னும் அவர் தம்முடைய சீஷரை நோக்கி: இப்படியிருக்கிறபடியினால், என்னத்தை உண்போம் என்று உங்கள் ஜீவனுக்காகவும், என்னத்தை உடுப்போம் என்று உங்கள் சரீரத்துக்காகவும் கவலைப்படாதிருங்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

22. And he spake unto his disciples: Therefore I say unto you: Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat: Neither for your body, what ye shall put on.

23. ஆகாரத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் ஜீவனும், உடையைப்பார்க்கிலும் சரீரமும் விசேஷித்தவைகளாயிருக்கிறது.

23. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

24. காகங்களைக் கவனித்துப்பாருங்கள், அவைகள் விதைக்கிறதுமில்லை அறுக்கிறதுமில்லை, அவைகளுக்குப் பண்டசாலையுமில்லை, களஞ்சியமுமில்லை, இல்லாவிட்டாலும் அவைகளையும் தேவன் பிழைப்பூட்டுகிறார்; பறவைகளைப்பார்க்கிலும் நீங்கள் எவ்வளவோ விசேஷித்தவர்களாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

24. Mark well(Consider) the ravens, for they neither(nether) sow, nor reap, which neither have storehouse nor(ner) barn, and yet God feedeth them. How much are ye better then the fowls.

25. கவலைப்படுகிறதினால் உங்களில் எவன் தன் சரீர அளவோடு ஒரு முழத்தைக் கூட்டுவான்.

25. Which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

26. மிகவும் அற்பமான காரியமுதலாய் உங்களால் செய்யக்கூடாதிருக்க, மற்றவைகளுக்காக நீங்கள் கவலைப்படுகிறதென்ன?

26. If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least: why take ye thought for the remnant?

27. காட்டுப்புஷ்பங்கள் எப்படி வளருகிறதென்று கவனித்துப்பாருங்கள்; அவைகள் உழைக்கிறதுமில்லை, நூற்கிறதுமில்லை, என்றாலும் சாலொமோன் முதலாய்த் தன் சர்வமகிமையிலும் அவைகளில் ஒன்றைப்போலாகிலும் உடுத்தியிருந்ததில்லை என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

27. Consider the lilies how they grow: They labor not: They spin not: and (yet) I say unto you, (that) Solomon in all his(this) royalty was not clothed like unto(to) one of these.

28. இப்படியிருக்க, அற்பவிசுவாசிகளே, இன்றைக்குக் காட்டிலிருந்து நாளைக்கு அடுப்பிலே போடப்படுகிற புல்லுக்கு தேவன் இவ்விதமாக உடுத்துவித்தால், உங்களுக்கு உடுத்துவிப்பது அதிக நிச்சயமல்லவா?

28. If God then so clothe the grass which is to day in the fields, and tomorrow shall be cast into the furnace:(,God so clothe) how much more will he clothe you, o ye endued with(of) little faith?

29. ஆகையால், என்னத்தை உண்போம், என்னத்தைக் குடிப்போம் என்று, நீங்கள் கேளாமலும் சந்தேகப்படாமலும் இருங்கள்.

29. And ask not what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither climb ye up on high:

30. இவைகளையெல்லாம் உலகத்தார் நாடித் தேடுகிறார்கள்; இவைகள் உங்களுக்கு வேண்டியவைகளென்று உங்கள் பிதாவானவர் அறிந்திருக்கிறார்.

30. for all such things the heathen people of the world seek for. Your father knoweth that ye have need of such things.

31. தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தையே தேடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது இவைகளெல்லாம் உங்களுக்குக் கூடக் கொடுக்கப்படும்.

31. Wherefore seek ye after the kingdom of heaven,(God) and all these things shall be ministered unto you.

32. பயப்படாதே சிறுமந்தையே, உங்களுக்கு ராஜ்யத்தைக் கொடுக்க உங்கள் பிதா பிரியமாயிருக்கிறார்.

32. Fear not little flock, for it is your father's pleasure, to give you a kingdom.

33. உங்களுக்கு உள்ளவைகளை விற்றுப் பிச்சைகொடுங்கள், பழமையாய்ப் போகாத பணப்பைகளையும் குறையாத பொக்கிஷத்தையும் பரலோகத்திலே உங்களுக்குச் சம்பாதித்து வையுங்கள், அங்கே திருடன் அணுகுகிறதுமில்லை, பூச்சி கெடுக்கிறதுமில்லை.

33. Sell that ye have, and give alms. And make you bags, which wax not old, and treasure that faileth not in heaven, where no thief cometh, neither moth corrupteth.

34. உங்கள் பொக்கிஷம் எங்கே இருக்கிறதோ அங்கே உங்கள் இருதயமும் இருக்கும்.

34. For where your treasure is; There will your hearts be also.

35. Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning,

36. தங்கள் எஜமான் கலியாணத்திலிருந்து வந்து தட்டும்போது, உடனே அவருக்குத் திறக்கும்படி எப்பொழுது வருவார் என்று காத்திருக்கிற மனுஷருக்கு ஒப்பாகவும் இருங்கள்.

36. and ye yourselves, like unto men, that watch(wait) for their master when he will return from a wedding: that as soon as he cometh and knocketh, they may (straightway) open unto him.

37. எஜமான் வரும்போது, விழித்திருக்கிறவர்களாகக் காணப்படுகிற ஊழியக்காரரே பாக்கியவான்கள். அவர் அரைகட்டிக்கொண்டு, அவர்களைப் பந்தியிருக்கச்செய்து, சமீபமாய் வந்து, அவர்களுக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்வார் என்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

37. Happy(Blessed) are those servants, which their Lord, when he cometh, shall find walking; Verily I say unto you, he will gird himself about, and make them sit down to meat,(at the table) and walk(shall go) by them, and minister unto them.

38. அவர் இரண்டாம் ஜாமத்திலாவது மூன்றாம் ஜாமத்திலாவது வந்து, அவர்கள் அப்படியே இருக்கக்கண்டால், அவ்வூழியக்காரர் பாக்கியவான்கள்.

38. And if he come in the second watch, ye if he come in the third watch, and shall find them so, happy(blessed) are those servants.

39. திருடன் இன்னநேரத்தில் வருவான் என்று வீட்டெஜமானுக்குத் தெரிந்திருந்தால், அவன் விழித்திருந்து, தன் வீட்டைக் கன்னமிடவொட்டான் என்று அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.

39. This shall ye understand, that if the good man of the house, had known(knew) what hour the thief would have come, he would surely have watched: and not have suffered(suffer) his house to have been(be) broken up.

40. அந்தப்படியே நீங்கள் நினையாத நேரத்தில் மனுஷகுமாரன் வருவார், ஆகையால் நீங்களும் ஆயத்தமாயிருங்கள் என்றார்.

40. Be ye prepared therefore for the son of man will come at an hour when ye think, not.

41. அப்பொழுது பேதுரு அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, இந்த உவமையை எங்களுக்கு மாத்திரம் சொல்லுகிறீரோ, எல்லாருக்கும் சொல்லுகிறீரோ என்று கேட்டான்.

41. Then Peter said unto him: Master tellest thou this similitude unto us, or to all men?

42. அதற்குக் கர்த்தர்: பணிவிடைக்காரருக்குத் தகுதியான காலத்திலே படிகொடுக்கும்படி எஜமான் அவர்கள்மேல் அதிகாரியாக வைக்கத்தக்க உண்மையும் விவேகமுமுள்ள விசாரணைக்காரன் யாவன்?

42. And the Lord said: who is a(If there be any) faithful steward,(servant) and a discreet,(wise) whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their duty of meat, at due season.

43. எஜமான் வரும்போது அப்படியே செய்கிறவனாய்க் காணப்படுகிற ஊழியக்காரன் பாக்கியவான்.

43. Happy(Blessed) is that servant, whom his master when he cometh shall find so doing.

44. தனக்குள்ளதெல்லாவற்றின்மேலும் அவனை விசாரணைக்காரனாக வைப்பான் என்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

44. Of a truth(Verily) I say unto you: that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

45. அந்த ஊழியக்காரனோ, என் எஜமான் வர நாள் செல்லும் என்று தனக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டு, வேலைக்காரரையும் வேலைக்காரிகளையும் அடிக்கவும், புசித்துக் குடித்து வெறிக்கவும் தலைப்பட்டால்,

45. But and if the evil servant shall say in his heart: My master will defer his coming, and shall begin to smite the servants, and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken:

46. அவன் நினையாத நாளிலும், அறியாத நேரத்திலும், அந்த ஊழியக்காரனுடைய எஜமான் வந்து, அவனைக் கடினமாய்த் தண்டித்து, உண்மையில்லாதவர்களோடே அவனுக்குப் பங்கை நியமிப்பான்.

46. the lord of that servant will come in a day, when he thinketh not, and at an hour when he is not ware, and will divide him,(when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, and shall hew him in pieces) and will give him his reward, with the unbelievers.

47. தன் எஜமானுடைய சித்தத்தை அறிந்தும் ஆயத்தமாயிராமலும் அவனுடைய சித்தத்தின்படி செய்யாமலும் இருந்த ஊழியக்காரன் அநேக அடிகள் அடிக்கப்படுவான்.

47. The servant that knew his master's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

48. அறியாதவனாயிருந்து, அடிகளுக்கு ஏதுவானவைகளைச் செய்தவனோ, சில அடிகள் அடிக்கப்படுவான். எவனிடத்தில் அதிகங்கொடுக்கப்படுகிறதோ அவனிடத்தில் அதிகங்கேட்கப்படும்; மனுஷர் எவனிடத்தில் அதிகமாய் ஒப்புவிக்கிறார்களோ அவனிடத்தில் அதிகமாய்க் கேட்பார்கள்.

48. But he that knew not, and hath committed(yet did commit) things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whom much is given: of him shall be much required. And to whom men much commit, the more of him will they ask.

49. பூமியின்மேல் அக்கினியைப் போடவந்தேன், அது இப்பொழுதே பற்றி எரியவேண்டுமென்று விரும்புகிறேன்.

49. I am come to send fire on earth: and what is my desire but that it were al ready kindled?

50. ஆகிலும் நான் முழுகவேண்டிய ஒரு ஸ்நானமுண்டு, அது முடியுமளவும் எவ்வளவோ நெருக்கப்படுகிறேன்.

50. Notwithstanding I must be baptised with a baptism. And how am I pained till it be ended?

51. நான் பூமியிலே சமாதானத்தை உண்டாக்கவந்தேன் என்று நினைக்கிறீர்களோ? சமாதானத்தையல்ல, பிரிவினையையே உண்டாக்கவந்தேன் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

51. Suppose(Think) ye that I am come to send(bring) peace on earth? I tell you, nay: but rather debate.

52. எப்படியெனில், இதுமுதல் ஒரே வீட்டிலே ஐந்துபேர் பிரிந்திருப்பார்கள், இரண்டுபேருக்கு விரோதமாய் மூன்றுபேரும், மூன்றுபேருக்கு விரோதமாய் இரண்டுபேரும் பிரிந்திருப்பார்கள்.

52. For henceforth there shall be five in one house divided,(at variance) three against two, and two against three.

53. தகப்பன் மகனுக்கும் மகன் தகப்பனுக்கும், தாய் மகளுக்கும் மகள் தாய்க்கும், மாமி மருமகளுக்கும் மருமகள் மாமிக்கும் விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருப்பார்கள் என்றார்.
மீகா 7:6

53. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father. The mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother. The mother-in-law against the(her) daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against the(her) mother-in-law.

54. பின்பு அவர் ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: மேற்கே மேகம் எழும்புகிறதை நீங்கள் காணும்போது, மழை வருமென்று சொல்லுகிறீர்கள்; அந்தப்படியுமாகும்.

54. Then said he to the people: when ye see a cloud rise out of the west straightway ye say: we shall have(there cometh) a shower, and so it is.

55. தென்றல் அடிக்கிறதை நீங்கள் காணும்போது உஷ்ணம் உண்டாகுமென்று சொல்லுகிறீர்கள், அந்தப் படியுமாகும்.

55. And when ye se the south wind blow, ye say: we shall have heat, and it cometh to pass.

56. மாயக்காரரே, பூமியின் தோற்றத்தையும் வானத்தின் தோற்றத்தையும் நிதானிக்க உங்களுக்குத் தெரியுமே, இந்தக் காலத்தையோ நிதானியாமற்போகிறதென்ன?

56. Hypocrites, ye can skill of(discern) the fashion of the earth, and of the sky: but what is the cause, that ye cannot skill of this time?(Why can ye not discern this time also?)

57. நியாயம் இன்னதென்று நீங்களே தீர்மானியாமலிருக்கிறதென்ன?

57. Yea and why judge ye not of yourselves, that which is rightwise?(what is right?)

58. உனக்கு எதிராளியானவன் உன்னை அதிகாரியினிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோகிறபோது, வழியிலேதானே அவனிடத்திலிருந்து விடுதலையாகும்படி பிரயாசப்படு, இல்லாவிட்டால், அவன் உன்னை நியாயாதிபதிக்கு முன்பாகக் கொண்டுபோவான், நியாயாதிபதி உன்னைச் சேவகனிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பான், சேவகன் உன்னைச் சிறைசாலையில் போடுவான்.

58. While thou goest with thine adversary to the ruler:(prince) as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from(quite of) him, least he bring thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the jailer, and the jailer cast thee into prison.

59. நீ கடைசிக்காசைக் கொடுத்துத் தீர்க்குமட்டும், அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து புறப்படமாட்டாய் என்று உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

59. I tell thee thou departest not(shalt not come out) thence, till thou have made good(pay) the utmost farthing.(mite.)
