1. வேவுகாரர் காண்பித்த வழியாக இஸ்ரவேலர் வருகிறார்கள் என்று தெற்கே வாசம்பண்ணுகிற கானானியனாகிய ஆராத் ராஜா கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவன் இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தம் பண்ணி, அவர்களில் சிலரைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

1. And when kyng Arad the Chananite which dwelt towarde the south, hearde tell that Israel came by the way that the spyes had founde out, he fought agaynst Israel, and toke some of them prisoners.

2. அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: தேவரீர் இந்த ஜனங்களை எங்கள் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தால், அவர்களுடைய பட்டணங்களைச் சங்காரம்பண்ணுவோம் என்று பிரதிக்கினை பண்ணினார்கள்.

2. And Israel vowed a vowe vnto the Lorde, and sayde: If thou wylt deliuer this people into my hande, I wyll vtterly destroy their cities.

3. கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலின் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, அவர்களுக்குக் கானானியரை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்; அப்பொழுது அவர்களையும் அவர்கள் பட்டணங்களையும் சங்காரம்பண்ணி, அவ்விடத்திற்கு ஓர்மா என்று பேரிட்டார்கள்.

3. And the Lorde hearde the voyce of Israel, and deliuered them the Chanaanites: And they destroyed them and their cities, and called the name of the place Horma.

4. அவர்கள் ஏதோம் தேசத்தைச் சுற்றிப்போகும்படிக்கு, ஓர் என்னும் மலையைவிட்டு, சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்தின் வழியாய்ப் பிரயாணம்பண்ணினார்கள்; வழியினிமித்தம் ஜனங்கள் மனமடிவடைந்தார்கள்.

4. And they departed fro mount Hor, by the way of the red sea, to compasse the lande of Edom: and the soule of the people was sore greeued, because of ye way.

5. ஜனங்கள் தேவனுக்கும் மோசேக்கும் விரோதமாகப் பேசி: நாங்கள் வனாந்தரத்திலே சாகும்படி நீங்கள் எங்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து வரப்பண்ணினதென்ன? இங்கே அப்பமும் இல்லை, தண்ணீரும் இல்லை; இந்த அற்பமான உணவு எங்கள் மனதுக்கு வெறுப்பாயிருக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.

5. And the people spake agaynst God and agaynst Moyses: wherefore haue ye brought vs out of Egypt, for to dye in the wildernesse? for here is neither bread nor water, and our soule lotheth this lyght bread.

6. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் கொள்ளிவாய்ச் சர்ப்பங்களை ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே அனுப்பினார்; அவைகள் ஜனங்களைக் கடித்ததினால் இஸ்ரவேலருக்குள்ளே அநேக ஜனங்கள் செத்தார்கள்.
1 கொரிந்தியர் 10:9

6. Wherfore the Lorde sent fierie serpentes among the people, which stong them: and much people of Israel dyed.

7. அதினால் ஜனங்கள் மோசேயினிடத்தில் போய்: நாங்கள் கர்த்தருக்கும் உமக்கும் விரோதமாய்ப் பேசினதினால் பாவஞ்செய்தோம்; சர்ப்பங்கள் எங்களைவிட்டு நீங்கும்படி கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணவேண்டும் என்றார்கள்; மோசே ஜனங்களுக்காக விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்.

7. Therfore the people came to Moyses, & sayd: We haue sinned, for we haue spoken agaynst the Lord and agaynst thee: make intercession to the Lord that he take away the serpentes from vs. And Moyses made intercession for ye people:

8. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ ஒரு கொள்ளிவாய்ச் சர்ப்பத்தின் உருவத்தைச் செய்து, அதை ஒரு கம்பத்தின்மேல் தூக்கிவை; கடிக்கப்பட்டவன் எவனோ அவன் அதை நோக்கிப்பார்த்தால் பிழைப்பான் என்றார்.

8. And the Lorde sayde vnto Moyses: Make thee a fierie serpent, and set it vp vpon a pole: that as many as are bitten may loke vpon it, and lyue.

9. அப்படியே மோசே ஒரு வெண்கலச்சர்ப்பத்தை உண்டாக்கி, அதை ஒரு கம்பத்தின்மேல் தூக்கிவைத்தான்; சர்ப்பம் ஒருவனைக் கடித்தபோது, அவன் அந்த வெண்கலச் சர்ப்பத்தை நோக்கிப்பார்த்துப் பிழைப்பான்.

9. And Moyses made a serpent of brasse, and set it vpon a pole: and when the serpent had bitten any man, he behelde the serpent of brasse, and lyued.

10. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் பிராயணப்பட்டுப்போய், ஓபோத்தில் பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

10. And the children of Israel departed thence, and pitched in Oboth.

11. ஓபோத்திலிருந்து பிரயாணம்பண்ணி, சூரியோதயத்திற்கு நேராய் மோவாபுக்கு எதிரான வனாந்தரத்திலுள்ள அபாரீமின் மேடுகளில் பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

11. And they departed from Oboth, and pitched at the heapes of Abarim, euen in the wildernesse which is before Moab, on the east syde.

12. அங்கேயிருந்து பிரயாணப்பட்டுப் போய், சாரேத் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

12. And they remoued thence, and pitched vpon the riuer of Zared.

13. அங்கேயிருந்து பிரயாணப்பட்டுப் போய், எமோரியரின் எல்லையிலிருந்து வருகிறதும் வனாந்தரத்தில் ஓடுகிறதுமான அர்னோன் ஆற்றுக்கு இப்புறம் பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்; அந்த அர்னோன் மோவாபுக்கும் எமோரியருக்கும் நடுவே இருக்கிற மோவாபின் எல்லை.

13. And they departed thence, and pitched on the other syde of Arnon, which is in the wildernesse, and commeth out of the coastes of the Amorites: for Arnon is the border of Moab, betweene Moab and the Amorites.

14. அதினால் சூப்பாவிலுள்ள வாகேபும், அர்னோனின் ஆற்றுக்கால்களும்,

14. Wherfore, it shalbe spoken in the booke of the warres of the Lord, what thyng he dyd in the red sea, and in the riuers of Arnon,

15. ஆர் என்னும் ஸ்தலத்துக்குப் பாயும் நீரோடையும் மோவாபின் எல்லையைச் சார்ந்திருக்கிறது என்னும் வசனம் கர்த்தருடைய யுத்த புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

15. And at the streame of the riuers, that goeth downe to the dwellyng of Ar, and lyeth vpon the border of Moab.

16. அங்கேயிருந்து பேயேருக்குப் போனார்கள்; ஜனங்களைக் கூடிவரச்செய், அவர்களுக்குத் தண்ணீர் கொடுப்பேன் என்று கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குச் சொன்ன ஊற்று இருக்கிற இடம் அதுதான்.

16. From thence [they returned] vnto Beer: The same is the well wherof the Lord spake vnto Moyses: Gather the people together, and I will geue them water.

17. அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர் பாடின பாட்டாவது: ஊற்றுத் தண்ணீரே, பொங்கிவா; அதைக்குறித்துப் பாடுவோம் வாருங்கள்.

17. Then Israel sang this song: Spryng vp well, syng ye vnto it:

18. நியாயப்பிரமாணிக்கனின் ஏவுதலால் அதிபதிகள் கிணற்றைத் தோண்டினார்கள்; ஜனத்தின் மேன்மக்கள் தங்கள் தண்டாயுதங்களைக்கொண்டு தோண்டினார்கள் என்று பாடினார்கள்.

18. The princes digged this well, the captaynes of the people digged it with the lawe geuer, and with their staues. And from the wildernesse they went to Mathana:

19. அந்த வனாந்தரத்திலிருந்து மாத்தனாவுக்கும், மாத்தனாவிலிருந்து நகாலியேலுக்கும், நகாலியேலிலிருந்து பாமோத்துக்கும்,

19. And from Mathana to Nahaliel, and from Nahaliel to Bamoth,

20. பள்ளத்தாக்கிலுள்ள மோவாபின் வெளியில் இருக்கிற பாமோத்திலிருந்து எஷிமோனை நோக்கும் பிஸ்காவின் உச்சிக்கும் போனார்கள்.

20. And from Bamoth of the valley that is in the fielde of Moab, vnto the top of the hyll that loketh towarde Iesimon.

21. அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர் எமோரியரின் ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனிடத்தில் ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பி:

21. And Israel sent messengers vnto Sehon kyng of the Amorites, saying:

22. உமது தேசத்தின் வழியாய்க் கடந்துபோகும்படி உத்தவு கொடுக்கவேண்டும்; நாங்கள் வயல்களிலும், திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களிலும் போகாமலும், துரவுகளின் தண்ணீரைக் குடியாமலும், உமது எல்லையைக் கடந்துபோகுமட்டும் ராஜபாதையில் நடந்துபோவோம் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னார்கள்.

22. Let me passe through thy lande, we wyll not turne into the fieldes or vineyardes, neither drynke of the waters of the well: but we wyll go along by the kynges hye way, vntyll we be past thy countrey.

23. சீகோன் தன் எல்லை வழியாய்க் கடந்துபோக இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு உத்தரவு கொடாமல், தன் ஜனங்களெல்லாரையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு விரோதமாக வனாந்தரத்திலே புறப்பட்டு, யாகாசுக்கு வந்து, இஸ்ரவேலரோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணினான்.

23. But Sehon woulde geue Israel no lisence to passe through his countrey: but gathered all his people together, & went out agaynst Israel into the wildernesse: And he came to Iaza, and fought agaynst Israel.

24. இஸ்ரவேலர் அவனைப் பட்டயக்கருக்கினால் வெட்டி, அர்னோன் தொடங்கி அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் தேசத்தைச்சார்ந்த யாப்போக்குவரைக்குமுள்ள அவனுடைய தேசத்தைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்; அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் எல்லை அரணிப்பானதாயிருந்தது.

24. And Israel smote him in the edge of the sworde, & conquered his lande from Arnon vnto Iabok, vnto the children of Ammon: For the border of the children of Ammon was strong.

25. இஸ்ரவேலர் அந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் யாவையும் பிடித்து, எஸ்போனிலும் அதைச் சார்ந்த எல்லாக் கிராமங்களிலும் எமோரியருடைய எல்லாப் பட்டணங்களிலும் குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

25. And Israel toke all these cities, and dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites in Hesbon, and in all the townes that long therto.

26. எஸ்போனானது எமோரியரின் ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனின் பட்டணமாயிருந்தது; அவன் மோவாபியரின் முந்தின ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தம்பண்ணி, அர்னோன் வரைக்கும் இருந்த அவன் தேசத்தையெல்லாம் அவன் கையிலிருந்து பறித்துக்கொண்டான்.

26. For Hesbon was the citie of Sehon the kyng of the Amorites, which fought before agaynst ye kyng of the Moabites, and toke all his lande out of his hande, euen vnto Arnon.

27. அதினாலே கவிகட்டுகிறவர்கள்: எஸ்போனுக்கு வாருங்கள்; சீகோனின் பட்டணம் ஸ்திரமாய்க் கட்டப்படுவதாக.

27. Wherfore they that speake in prouerbes, say: Come to Hesbon, and let the citie of Sehon be built and repayred.

28. எஸ்போனிலிருந்து அக்கினியும் சீகோனுடைய பட்டணத்திலிருந்து ஜூவாலையும் புறப்பட்டு, மோவாபுடைய ஆர் என்னும் ஊரையும், அர்னோனுடைய மேடுகளிலுள்ள ஆண்டவமார்களையும் பட்சித்தது.

28. For there is a fire gone out of Hesbon, and a flambe from the citie of Sehon, and hath consumed Ar in Moab, and the lordes of Bamoth in Arnon.

29. ஐயோ, மோவாபே, கேமோஷ் தேவனின் ஜனமே, நீ நாசமானாய்; தப்பி ஓடின தன் குமாரரையும் தன் குமாரத்திகளையும் எமோரியரின் ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனுக்குச் சிறைகளாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தான்.

29. Wo to thee Moab, O people of Chamos ye are vndone: he hath suffered his sonnes to be pursued, & his daughters to be in captiuitie vnto Sehon the kyng of the Amorites.

30. அவர்களை எய்துபோட்டோம்; எஸ்போன் பட்டணம் தீபோன் ஊர்வரைக்கும் நாசமாயிற்று; மேதோபாவுக்குச் சமீபமான நோப்பா பட்டணபரியந்தம் அவர்களைப் பாழாக்கினோம் என்று பாடினார்கள்.

30. Their empire is lost from Hesbon vnto Dibon, and we made a wildernesse euen vnto Nopha, which reacheth vnto Medaba.

31. இஸ்ரவேலர் இப்படியே எமோரியரின் தேசத்திலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

31. And thus Israel dwelt in the lande of the Amorites.

32. பின்பு, மோசே யாசேர் பட்டணத்துக்கு வேவுபார்க்கிறவர்களை அனுப்பினான்; அவர்கள் அதைச்சேர்ந்த கிராமங்களைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு, அங்கே இருந்த எமோரியரைத் துரத்திவிட்டார்கள்.

32. And Moyses sent to searche out Iaezer, and they toke the townes belonging therto, & rooted out the Amorites that were therein.

33. பின்பு பாசானுக்குப் போகிற வழியாய்த் திரும்பிவிட்டார்கள்; அப்பொழுது பாசான் ராஜாவாகிய ஓக் என்பவன் தன் சமஸ்த ஜனங்களோடும் அவர்களை எதிர்த்து யுத்தம்பண்ணும்படிக்கு, எத்ரேயுக்குப் புறப்பட்டு வந்தான்.

33. And they turned, and went vp towarde Basan: And Og the kyng of Basan came out agaynst them, he and all his people to fight at Edrai.

34. கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: அவனுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டாம்; அவனையும் அவன் ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரையும், அவன் தேசத்தையும் உன் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தேன்; எஸ்போனிலே வாசமாயிருந்த எமோரியரின் ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனுக்கு நீ செய்தபடியே இவனுக்கும் செய்வாய் என்றார்.

34. And the Lorde sayde vnto Moyses: feare hym not, for I haue deliuered hym into thy hande, and all his people and his lande, and thou shalt do to him as thou diddest vnto Schon the king of the Amorites whiche dwelt at Hesbon.

35. அப்படியே ஒருவரும் உயிருடன் மீதியாயிராதபடிக்கு அவனையும், அவன் குமாரரையும், அவனுடைய சகல ஜனங்களையும் வெட்டிப்போட்டு, அவன் தேசத்தைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

35. They smote hym therefore, and his sonnes, and all his people, vntyll there was nothyng left hym, and they conquered his lande.
