1. தேவசபையிலே தேவன் எழுந்தருளியிருக்கிறார்; தேவர்களின் நடுவிலே அவர் நியாயம் விசாரிக்கிறார்.

1. God presides in the heavenly council; in the assembly of the gods he gives his decision:

2. எதுவரைக்கும் நீங்கள் அநியாயத்தீர்ப்புச்செய்து, துன்மார்க்கருக்கு முகதாட்சிணியம்பண்ணுவீர்கள். (சேலா)

2. You must stop judging unjustly; you must no longer be partial to the wicked!

3. ஏழைக்கும் திக்கற்றபிள்ளைக்கும் நியாயஞ்செய்து, சிறுமைப்பட்டவனுக்கும் திக்கற்றவனுக்கும் நீதி செய்யுங்கள்.

3. Defend the rights of the poor and the orphans; be fair to the needy and the helpless.

4. பலவீனனையும் எளியவனையும் விடுவித்து, துன்மார்க்கரின் கைக்கு அவர்களைத் தப்புவியுங்கள்.

4. Rescue them from the power of evil people.

5. அறியாமலும் உணராமலும் இருக்கிறார்கள், அந்தகாரத்திலே நடக்கிறார்கள்; தேசத்தின் அஸ்திபாரங்களெல்லாம் அசைகிறது.

5. 'How ignorant you are! How stupid! You are completely corrupt, and justice has disappeared from the world.

6. நீங்கள் தேவர்கள் என்றும், நீங்களெல்லாரும் உன்னதமானவரின் மக்கள் என்றும் நான் சொல்லியிருந்தேன்.

6. 'You are gods,' I said; 'all of you are children of the Most High.'

7. ஆனாலும் நீங்கள் மனுஷரைப்போலச் செத்து, லோகப்பிரபுக்களில் ஒருவனைப்போல விழுந்து போவீர்கள்.

7. But you will die like mortals; your life will end like that of any prince.'

8. தேவனே, எழுந்தருளும், பூமிக்கு நியாயத்தீர்ப்புச் செய்யும்; நீரே சகல ஜாதிகளையும் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொண்டிருப்பவர்.

8. Come, O God, and rule the world; all the nations are yours.
