1. பொல்லாதவர்களைக்குறித்து எரிச்சலடையாதே; நியாயக்கேடு செய்கிறவர்கள்மேல் பொறாமை கொள்ளாதே.

1. By David: Don't be upset by evildoers or envious of those who do wrong,

2. அவர்கள் புல்லைப்போல் சீக்கிரமாய் அறுப்புண்டு, பசும்பூண்டைப்போல் வாடிப்போவார்கள்.

2. for soon they will wither like grass and fade like the green in the fields.

3. கர்த்தரை நம்பி நன்மைசெய்; தேசத்தில் குடியிருந்து சத்தியத்தை மேய்ந்துகொள்.

3. Trust in ADONAI, and do good; settle in the land, and feed on faithfulness.

4. கர்த்தரிடத்தில் மனமகிழ்ச்சியாயிரு; அவர் உன் இருதயத்தின் வேண்டுதல்களை உனக்கு அருள்செய்வார்.

4. Then you will delight yourself in ADONAI, and he will give you your heart's desire.

5. உன் வழியைக் கர்த்தருக்கு ஒப்புவித்து, அவர்மேல் நம்பிக்கையாயிரு; அவரே காரியத்தை வாய்க்கப்பண்ணுவார்.

5. Commit your way to ADONAI; trust in him, and he will act.

6. உன் நீதியை வெளிச்சத்தைப் போலவும், உன் நியாயத்தைப் பட்டப்பகலைப்போலவும் விளங்கப்பண்ணுவார்.

6. He will make your vindication shine forth like light, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

7. கர்த்தரை நோக்கி அமர்ந்து, அவருக்குக் காத்திரு; காரியசித்தியுள்ளவன் மேலும் தீவினைகளைச் செய்கிற மனுஷன் மேலும் எரிச்சலாகாதே.

7. Be still before ADONAI; wait patiently till he comes. Don't be upset by those whose way succeeds because of their wicked plans.

8. கோபத்தை நெகிழ்ந்து, உக்கிரத்தை விட்டுவிடு; பொல்லாப்புச் செய்ய ஏதுவான எரிச்சல் உனக்கு வேண்டாம்.

8. Stop being angry, put aside rage, and don't be upset- it leads to evil.

9. பொல்லாதவர்கள் அறுப்புண்டுபோவார்கள்; கர்த்தருக்குக் காத்திருக்கிறவர்களோ பூமியைச் சுதந்தரித்துக் கொள்வார்கள்.

9. For evildoers will be cut off, but those hoping in ADONAI will inherit the land.

10. இன்னுங் கொஞ்சநேரந்தான், அப்போது துன்மார்க்கன் இரான்; அவன் ஸ்தானத்தை உற்று விசாரித்தாயானால் அவன் இல்லை.

10. Soon the wicked will be no more; you will look for his place, and he won't be there.

11. சாந்தகுணமுள்ளவர்கள் பூமியைச் சுதந்தரித்து, மிகுந்த சமாதானத்தினால் மனமகிழ்ச்சியாயிருப்பார்கள்.

11. But the meek will inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace.

12. The wicked plots against the righteous and grinds his teeth at him;

13. but [Adonai] laughs at the wicked, knowing his day will come.

14. சிறுமையும் எளிமையுமானவனை மடிவிக்கவும், செம்மை மார்க்கத்தாரை விழப்பண்ணவும், துன்மார்க்கர் பட்டயத்தை உருவி, தங்கள் வில்லை நாணேற்றுகிறார்கள்.

14. The wicked have unsheathed their swords, they have strung their bows to bring down the poor and needy, to slaughter those whose way is upright.

15. ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் பட்டயம் அவர்களுடைய இருதயத்திற்குள் உருவிப்போகும்; அவர்கள் வில்லுகள் முறியும்.

15. But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.

16. அநேக துன்மார்க்கருக்குள்ள செல்வத்திரட்சியைப்பார்க்கிலும், நீதிமானுக்குள்ள கொஞ்சமே நல்லது.

16. Better the little that the righteous has than the wealth of all the wicked.

17. துன்மார்க்கருடைய புயங்கள் முறியும்; நீதிமான்களையோ கர்த்தர் தாங்குகிறார்.

17. For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but ADONAI upholds the righteous.

18. உத்தமர்களின் நாட்களைக் கர்த்தர் அறிந்திருக்கிறார்; அவர்கள் சுதந்தரம் என்றென்றைக்கும் இருக்கும்.

18. ADONAI knows what the wholehearted suffer, but their inheritance lasts forever.

19. அவர்கள் ஆபத்துக்காலத்திலே வெட்கப்பட்டுப்போகாதிருந்து, பஞ்சகாலத்திலே திருப்தியடைவார்கள்.

19. They will not be distressed when times are hard; when famine comes, they will have plenty.

20. துன்மார்க்கரோ அழிந்துபோவார்கள், கர்த்தருடைய சத்துருக்கள் ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளின் நிணத்தைப்போல் புகைந்து போவார்கள், அவர்கள் புகையாய்ப் புகைந்து போவார்கள்.

20. For the wicked will perish; ADONAI's enemies will be like sheep fat, ending up as smoke, finished.

21. துன்மார்க்கன் கடன் வாங்கிச் செலுத்தாமற் போகிறான்; நீதிமானோ இரங்கிக்கொடுக்கிறான்.

21. The wicked borrows and doesn't repay, but the righteous is generous and gives.

22. அவரால் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் பூமியைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளுவார்கள்; அவரால் சபிக்கப்பட்டவர்களோ அறுப்புண்டுபோவார்கள்.

22. For those blessed by [[ADONAI]] will inherit the land, but those cursed by him will be cut off.

23. நல்ல மனுஷனுடைய நடைகள் கர்த்தரால் உறுதிப்படும், அவனுடைய வழியின்மேல் அவர் பிரியமாயிருக்கிறார்.

23. ADONAI directs a person's steps, and he delights in his way.

24. அவன் விழுந்தாலும் தள்ளுண்டு போவதில்லை; கர்த்தர் தமது கையினால் அவனைத் தாங்குகிறார்.

24. He may stumble, but he won't fall headlong, for ADONAI holds him by the hand.

25. நான் இளைஞனாயிருந்தேன், முதிர்வயதுள்ளவனுமானேன்; ஆனாலும் நீதிமான் கைவிடப்பட்டதையும், அவன் சந்ததி அப்பத்துக்கு இரந்து திரிகிறதையும் நான் காணவில்லை.

25. I have been young; now I am old; yet not once have I seen the righteous abandoned or his descendants begging for bread.

26. அவன் நித்தம் இரங்கிக் கடன் கொடுக்கிறான், அவன் சந்ததி ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படும்.

26. All day long he is generous and lends, and his descendants are blessed.

27. தீமையை விட்டு விலகி, நன்மை செய்; என்றென்றைக்கும் நிலைத்திருப்பாய்.

27. If you turn from evil and do good, you will live safely forever.

28. கர்த்தர் நியாயத்தை விரும்புகிறவர்; அவர் தமது பரிசுத்தவான்களைக் கைவிடுவதில்லை; அவர்கள் என்றைக்கும் காக்கப்படுவார்கள்; துன்மார்க்கருடைய சந்ததியோ அறுப்புண்டுபோகும்.

28. For ADONAI loves justice and will not abandon his faithful; they are preserved forever. But the descendants of the wicked will be cut off.

29. நீதிமான்கள் பூமியைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொண்டு, என்றைக்கும் அதிலே வாசமாயிருப்பார்கள்.

29. The righteous will inherit the land and live in it forever.

30. நீதிமானுடைய வாய் ஞானத்தை உரைத்து, அவனுடைய நாவு நியாயத்தைப் பேசும்.

30. The mouth of the righteous articulates wisdom, his tongue speaks justice.

31. அவனுடைய தேவன் அருளிய வேதம் அவன் இருதயத்தில் இருக்கிறது; அவன் நடைகளில் ஒன்றும் பிசகுவதில்லை.

31. The [Torah] of his God is in his heart; his footsteps do not falter.

32. துன்மார்க்கன் நீதிமான்மேல் கண்வைத்து, அவனைக் கொல்ல வகைதேடுகிறான்.

32. The wicked keeps his eye on the righteous, seeking a chance to kill him.

33. கர்த்தரோ அவனை இவன் கையில் விடுவதில்லை; அவன் நியாயம் விசாரிக்கப்படுகையில், அவனை ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்ப்பதுமில்லை.

33. But ADONAI will not leave him in his power or let him be condemned when judged.

34. நீ கர்த்தருக்குக் காத்திருந்து, அவருடைய வழியைக் கைக்கொள்; அப்பொழுது நீ பூமியைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்வதற்கு அவர் உன்னை உயர்த்துவார்; துன்மார்க்கர் அறுப்புண்டுபோவதை நீ காண்பாய்.

34. Put your hope in ADONAI, keep to his way, and he will raise you up to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you will see it.

35. கொடிய பலவந்தனான ஒரு துன்மார்க்கனைக் கண்டேன் அவன் தனக்கேற்ற நிலத்தில் முளைத்திருக்கிற பச்சைமரத்தைப்போல் தழைத்தவனாயிருந்தான்.

35. I have seen a wicked man wielding great power, flourishing like a shade tree in its native soil.

36. ஆனாலும் அவன் ஒழிந்துபோனான்; பாருங்கள், அவன் இல்லை; அவனைத் தேடினேன், அவன் காணப்படவில்லை.

36. But I passed by again, and he was no longer there; I looked for him, but he could not be found.

37. நீ உத்தமனை நோக்கி, செம்மையானவனைப் பார்த்திரு; அந்த மனுஷனுடைய முடிவு சமாதானம்.

37. Observe the pure person, consider the upright; for the peaceful person will have posterity.

38. அக்கிரமக்காரர் ஏகமாய் அழிக்கப்படுவார்கள்; அறுப்புண்டுபோவதே துன்மார்க்கரின் முடிவு.

38. But transgressors will all be destroyed; the posterity of the wicked will be cut off.

39. நீதிமான்களுடைய இரட்சிப்பு கர்த்தரால் வரும்; இக்கட்டுக்காலத்தில் அவரே அவர்கள் அடைக்கலம்.

39. ADONAI is the one who saves the righteous; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.

40. கர்த்தர் அவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்து, அவர்களை விடுவிப்பார்; அவர்கள் அவரை நம்பியிருக்கிறபடியால், அவர்களைத் துன்மார்க்கருடைய கைக்குத் தப்புவித்து இரட்சிப்பார்.

40. ADONAI helps them and rescues them, rescues them from the wicked and saves them; because they take refuge in him.
