1. யோபு பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

1. And Job answered and said,

2. ஆம், நீங்களே ஞானமுள்ள ஜனங்கள்; உங்களுடனே ஞானம் சாகும்.

2. Truly ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you!

3. உங்களைப்போல எனக்கும் புத்தியுண்டு; உங்களிலும் நான் தாழ்ந்தவன் அல்ல; இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளை அறியாதவன் யார்?

3. I also have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you; and who knoweth not such things as these?

4. என் சிநேகிதரால் நான் நிந்திக்கப்பட்டு, தேவனை நோக்கிப் பிரார்த்திப்பேன்; அவர் எனக்கு மறு உத்தரவு அருளுவார்; உத்தமனாகிய நீதிமான் பரியாசம்பண்ணப்படுகிறான்.

4. I am to be one that is a derision to his friend, I who call upon +God, and whom he will answer: a derision is the just upright [man].

5. ஆபத்துக்குள்ளானவன் சுகமாயிருக்கிறவனுடைய நினைவில் இகழ்ச்சியடைகிறான்; காலிடறினவர்களுக்கு இது நேரிடும்.

5. He that is ready to stumble with the foot is a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.

6. கள்ளருடைய கூடாரங்களில் செல்வமுண்டு; தேவனைக் கோபப்படுத்துகிறவர்களுக்குச் சாங்கோபாங்கமுண்டு; அவர்கள் கையிலே தேவன் கொண்டுவந்து கொடுக்கிறார்.

6. The tents of desolators are in peace, and they that provoke *God are secure; into whose hand +God bringeth.

7. இப்போதும் நீ மிருகங்களைக் கேட்டுப்பார், அவைகள் உனக்குப் போதிக்கும் ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளைக் கேள், அவைகள் உனக்கு அறிவிக்கும்.

7. But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowl of the heavens, and they shall tell thee;

8. அல்லது பூமியை விசாரித்துக் கேள், அது உனக்கு உபதேசிக்கும்; சமுத்திரத்தின் மச்சங்களைக் கேள், அவைகள் உனக்கு விவரிக்கும்.

8. Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee; and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

9. கர்த்தருடைய கரம் இதைச் செய்ததென்று இவைகளெல்லாவற்றினாலும் அறியாதவன் யார்?

9. Who knoweth not in all these, that the hand of Jehovah hath wrought this?

10. சகல பிராணிகளின் ஜீவனும், மாம்சமான சகல மனுஷரின் ஆவியும் அவர் கையிலிருக்கிறது.

10. In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the spirit of all flesh of man.

11. வாயானது போஜனத்தை ருசிபார்க்கிறதுபோல, செவியானது வார்த்தைகளைச் சோதித்துப்பார்க்கிறதல்லவா?

11. Doth not the ear try words, as the palate tasteth food?

12. முதியோரிடத்தில் ஞானமும் வயது சென்றவர்களிடத்தில் புத்தியும் இருக்குமே.

12. With the aged is wisdom, and in length of days understanding.

13. அவரிடத்தில் ஞானமும் வல்லமையும் எத்தனை அதிகமாய் இருக்கும்? அவருக்குத்தான் ஆலோசனையும் புத்தியும் உண்டு.

13. With him is wisdom and might; he hath counsel and understanding.

14. இதோ, அவர் இடித்தால் கட்டமுடியாது; அவர் மனுஷனை அடைத்தால் விடுவிக்கமுடியாது.
வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 3:7

14. Behold, he breaketh down, and it is not built again; he shutteth up a man, and there is no opening.

15. இதோ, அவர் தண்ணீர்களை அடக்கினால் எல்லாம் உலர்ந்துபோம்; அவர் அவைகளை வரவிட்டால், பூமியைக் கீழதுமேலதாக்கும்.

15. Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up; and he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.

16. அவரிடத்தில் பெலனும் ஞானமுமுண்டு; மோசம் போகிறவனும் மோசம் போக்குகிறவனும், அவர் கையின் கீழிருக்கிறார்கள்.

16. With him is strength and effectual knowledge; the deceived and the deceiver are his.

17. அவர் ஆலோசனைக்காரரைச் சிறைபிடித்து, நியாயாதிபதிகளை மதிமயக்குகிறார்.

17. He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and judges maketh he fools;

18. அவர் ராஜாக்களுடைய கட்டுகளை அவிழ்த்து, அவர்கள் இடுப்புகளைக் கச்சைகட்டுகிறார்.

18. He weakeneth the government of kings, and bindeth their loins with a fetter;

19. அவர் மந்திரிகளைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோய், பெலவான்களைக் கவிழ்த்துப்போடுகிறார்.

19. He leadeth priests away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty;

20. அவர் நம்பிக்கையுள்ளவர்களுடைய வாக்கை விலக்கி, முதிர்வயதுள்ளவர்களின் ஆலோசனையை வாங்கிப்போடுகிறார்.

20. He depriveth of speech the trusty, and taketh away the judgment of the elders;

21. அவர் பிரபுக்களின்மேல் இகழ்ச்சி வரப்பண்ணுகிறார்; பலவான்களின் கச்சையைத் தளர்ந்துபோகப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

21. He poureth contempt upon nobles, and slackeneth the girdle of the mighty;

22. அவர் அந்தகாரத்திலிருக்கிற ஆழங்களை வெளியரங்கமாக்கி, மரண இருளை வெளிச்சத்தில் கொண்டுவருகிறார்.

22. He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out into light the shadow of death;

23. அவர் ஜாதிகளைப் பெருகவும் அழியவும்பண்ணுகிறார்; அவர் ஜாதிகளைப் பரவவும் குறுகவும் பண்ணுகிறார்.

23. He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them; he spreadeth out the nations, and bringeth them in;

24. அவர் பூமியிலுள்ள ஜனத்தினுடைய அதிபதிகளின் நெஞ்சை அகற்றிப்போட்டு, அவர்களை வழியில்லாத அந்தரத்திலே அலையப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

24. He taketh away the understanding of the chiefs of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a pathless waste.

25. அவர்கள் வெளிச்சமற்ற இருளிலே தடவித்திரிகிறார்கள்; வெறித்தவர்களைப்போல அவர்களைத் தடுமாறித் திரியப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

25. They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunkard.
