1. Then Iob answered, and sayde,

2. ஆம், நீங்களே ஞானமுள்ள ஜனங்கள்; உங்களுடனே ஞானம் சாகும்.

2. In deede because that ye are the people onely, wisedome must dye with you.

3. உங்களைப்போல எனக்கும் புத்தியுண்டு; உங்களிலும் நான் தாழ்ந்தவன் அல்ல; இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளை அறியாதவன் யார்?

3. But I haue vnderstanding aswel as you, and am not inferior vnto you: yea, who knoweth not such things?

4. என் சிநேகிதரால் நான் நிந்திக்கப்பட்டு, தேவனை நோக்கிப் பிரார்த்திப்பேன்; அவர் எனக்கு மறு உத்தரவு அருளுவார்; உத்தமனாகிய நீதிமான் பரியாசம்பண்ணப்படுகிறான்.

4. I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth vpon God, and he heareth him: the iust and the vpright is laughed to scorne.

5. ஆபத்துக்குள்ளானவன் சுகமாயிருக்கிறவனுடைய நினைவில் இகழ்ச்சியடைகிறான்; காலிடறினவர்களுக்கு இது நேரிடும்.

5. Hee that is readie to fall, is as a lampe despised in the opinion of the riche.

6. கள்ளருடைய கூடாரங்களில் செல்வமுண்டு; தேவனைக் கோபப்படுத்துகிறவர்களுக்குச் சாங்கோபாங்கமுண்டு; அவர்கள் கையிலே தேவன் கொண்டுவந்து கொடுக்கிறார்.

6. The tabernacles of robbers doe prosper, and they are in safetie, that prouoke God, whome God hath enriched with his hand.

7. இப்போதும் நீ மிருகங்களைக் கேட்டுப்பார், அவைகள் உனக்குப் போதிக்கும் ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளைக் கேள், அவைகள் உனக்கு அறிவிக்கும்.

7. Aske now the beasts, and they shall teach thee, and the foules of the heauen, and they shall tell thee:

8. அல்லது பூமியை விசாரித்துக் கேள், அது உனக்கு உபதேசிக்கும்; சமுத்திரத்தின் மச்சங்களைக் கேள், அவைகள் உனக்கு விவரிக்கும்.

8. Or speake to the earth, and it shall shewe thee: or the fishes of the sea, and they shall declare vnto thee.

9. கர்த்தருடைய கரம் இதைச் செய்ததென்று இவைகளெல்லாவற்றினாலும் அறியாதவன் யார்?

9. Who is ignorant of all these, but that the hande of the Lord hath made these?

10. சகல பிராணிகளின் ஜீவனும், மாம்சமான சகல மனுஷரின் ஆவியும் அவர் கையிலிருக்கிறது.

10. In whose hande is the soule of euery liuing thing, and the breath of all mankinde.

11. வாயானது போஜனத்தை ருசிபார்க்கிறதுபோல, செவியானது வார்த்தைகளைச் சோதித்துப்பார்க்கிறதல்லவா?

11. Doeth not the eares discerne the words? and the mouth taste meate for it selfe?

12. முதியோரிடத்தில் ஞானமும் வயது சென்றவர்களிடத்தில் புத்தியும் இருக்குமே.

12. Among the ancient is wisedome, and in the length of dayes is vnderstanding.

13. அவரிடத்தில் ஞானமும் வல்லமையும் எத்தனை அதிகமாய் இருக்கும்? அவருக்குத்தான் ஆலோசனையும் புத்தியும் உண்டு.

13. With him is wisedome and strength: he hath counsell and vnderstanding.

14. இதோ, அவர் இடித்தால் கட்டமுடியாது; அவர் மனுஷனை அடைத்தால் விடுவிக்கமுடியாது.

14. Beholde, he will breake downe, and it can not be built: he shutteth a man vp, and he can not be loosed.

15. இதோ, அவர் தண்ணீர்களை அடக்கினால் எல்லாம் உலர்ந்துபோம்; அவர் அவைகளை வரவிட்டால், பூமியைக் கீழதுமேலதாக்கும்.

15. Beholde, he withholdeth the waters, and they drie vp: but when he sendeth them out, they destroy the earth.

16. அவரிடத்தில் பெலனும் ஞானமுமுண்டு; மோசம் போகிறவனும் மோசம் போக்குகிறவனும், அவர் கையின் கீழிருக்கிறார்கள்.

16. With him is strength and wisedome: hee that is deceiued, and that deceiueth, are his.

17. அவர் ஆலோசனைக்காரரைச் சிறைபிடித்து, நியாயாதிபதிகளை மதிமயக்குகிறார்.

17. He causeth the counsellers to goe as spoyled, and maketh the iudges fooles.

18. அவர் ராஜாக்களுடைய கட்டுகளை அவிழ்த்து, அவர்கள் இடுப்புகளைக் கச்சைகட்டுகிறார்.

18. He looseth the collar of Kings, and girdeth their loynes with a girdle.

19. அவர் மந்திரிகளைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோய், பெலவான்களைக் கவிழ்த்துப்போடுகிறார்.

19. He leadeth away the princes as a pray, and ouerthroweth the mightie.

20. அவர் நம்பிக்கையுள்ளவர்களுடைய வாக்கை விலக்கி, முதிர்வயதுள்ளவர்களின் ஆலோசனையை வாங்கிப்போடுகிறார்.

20. He taketh away the speach from the faithfull counsellers, and taketh away the iudgement of the ancient.

21. அவர் பிரபுக்களின்மேல் இகழ்ச்சி வரப்பண்ணுகிறார்; பலவான்களின் கச்சையைத் தளர்ந்துபோகப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

21. He powreth contempt vpon princes, and maketh the strength of the mightie weake.

22. அவர் அந்தகாரத்திலிருக்கிற ஆழங்களை வெளியரங்கமாக்கி, மரண இருளை வெளிச்சத்தில் கொண்டுவருகிறார்.

22. He discouereth the deepe places from their darkenesse, and bringeth foorth the shadowe of death to light.

23. அவர் ஜாதிகளைப் பெருகவும் அழியவும்பண்ணுகிறார்; அவர் ஜாதிகளைப் பரவவும் குறுகவும் பண்ணுகிறார்.

23. He increaseth the people, and destroyeth them: he inlargeth the nations, and bringeth them in againe.

24. அவர் பூமியிலுள்ள ஜனத்தினுடைய அதிபதிகளின் நெஞ்சை அகற்றிப்போட்டு, அவர்களை வழியில்லாத அந்தரத்திலே அலையப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

24. He taketh away the heartes of the that are the chiefe ouer the people of the earth, and maketh them to wander in the wildernes out of the way.

25. அவர்கள் வெளிச்சமற்ற இருளிலே தடவித்திரிகிறார்கள்; வெறித்தவர்களைப்போல அவர்களைத் தடுமாறித் திரியப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

25. They grope in the darke without light: and he maketh the to stagger like a drunken man.
