1. கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தைக்குறித்துச் சாலொமோனுக்கு உண்டாயிருந்த கீர்த்தி சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீக்குக் கேள்வியானபோது, அவள் விடுகதைகளினால் அவனைச் சோதிக்கிறதற்காக,
மத்தேயு 6:29

1. Now the queen of Sheba, hearing great things of Solomon, came to put his wisdom to the test with hard questions.

2. மிகுந்த பரிவாரத்தோடும், கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும், மிகுதியான பொன்னையும் இரத்தினங்களையும் சுமக்கிற ஒட்டகங்களோடும், எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தாள்; அவள் சாலோமோனிடத்தில் வந்தபோது, தன் மனதில் இருந்த எல்லாவற்றையுங்குறித்து அவனிடத்தில் சம்பாஷித்தாள்.

2. And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels weighted down with spices, and stores of gold and jewels: and when she came to Solomon she had talk with him of everything in her mind.

3. அப்பொழுது சாலொமோன் அவள் கேட்டவைகளையெல்லாம் விடுவித்தான். அவளுக்கு விடுவிக்கக்கூடாதபடிக்கு, ஒன்றாகிலும் ராஜாவுக்கு மறைபொருளாயிருக்கவில்லை.

3. And Solomon gave her answers to all her questions; there was no secret which the king did not make clear to her.

4. சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீ சாலொமோனுடைய சகல ஞானத்தையும், அவன் கட்டின அரமனையையும்,

4. And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house which he had made,

5. அவன் பந்தியின் போஜனபதார்த்தங்களையும், அவன் ஊழியக்காரரின் வீடுகளையும், அவன் உத்தியோகஸ்தரின் வரிசையையும், அவன் வஸ்திரங்களையும், அவனுடைய பானபாத்திரக்காரரையும், அவன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கும் நடைமண்டபத்தையும் கண்டபோது அவள் ஆச்சரியத்தால் பிரமைகொண்டு,

5. And the food at his table, and all his servants seated there, and those who were waiting on him in their places, and their robes, and his wine-servants, and the burned offerings which he made in the house of the Lord, there was no more spirit in her.

6. ராஜாவை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய வர்த்தமானங்களையும் உம்முடைய ஞானத்தையும் குறித்து நான் என் தேசத்தில் கேட்ட செய்தி மெய்யாயிற்று.

6. And she said to the king, The account which was given to me in my country of your acts and your wisdom was true.

7. நான் வந்து அதை என் கண்களால் காணுமட்டும் அந்த வார்த்தைகளை நான் நம்பவில்லை; இவைகளில் பாதியாகிலும் எனக்கு அறிவிக்கப்படவில்லை என்று காண்கிறேன்; நான் கேள்விப்பட்ட பிரஸ்தாபத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும், உம்முடைய ஞானமும் செல்வமும் அதிகமாயிருக்கிறது.

7. But I had no faith in what was said about you, till I came and saw for myself; and now I see that it was not half the story; your wisdom and your wealth are much greater than they said.

8. உம்முடைய ஜனங்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; எப்போதும் உமக்கு முன்பாக நின்று, உம்முடைய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்கிற உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரும் பாக்கியவான்கள்.

8. Happy are your wives, happy are these your servants whose place is ever before you, hearing your words of wisdom.

9. உம்மை இஸ்ரவேலின் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் வைக்க, உம்மேல் பிரியங்கொண்ட உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கப்படுவாராக: கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலை என்றைக்கும் சிநேகிக்கிறபடியினால், நியாயமும் நீதியும் செய்கிறதற்கு உம்மை ராஜாவாக ஏற்படுத்தினார் என்றாள்.

9. May the Lord your God be praised, whose pleasure it was to put you on the seat of the kingdom of Israel; because the Lord's love for Israel is eternal, he has made you king, to be their judge in righteousness.

10. அவள் ராஜாவுக்கு நூற்றிருபது தாலந்து பொன்னையும், மிகுதியான கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும், இரத்தினங்களையும் கொடுத்தாள்; சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீ ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனுக்குக் கொடுத்த அவ்வளவு கந்தவர்க்கங்கள் பிற்பாடு ஒருக்காலும் வரவில்லை.

10. And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and a great store of spices and jewels: never again was such a wealth of spices seen as that which the queen of Sheba gave King Solomon.

11. ஓப்பீரிலிருந்து பொன்னைக்கொண்டுவருகிற ஈராமின் கப்பல்களும், ஓப்பீரிலிருந்து மிகுந்த வாசனைமரங்களையும் இரத்தினங்களையும் கொண்டுவந்தது.

11. And the sea-force of Hiram, in addition to gold from Ophir, came back with much sandal-wood and jewels.

12. அந்த வாசனைமரங்களால் ராஜா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்கும் ராஜ அரமனைக்கும் ஊன்றுகால்களையும், சங்கீதக்காரருக்குச் சுரமண்டலங்களையும் தம்புருகளையும் உண்டாக்கினான்; அப்படிப்பட்ட வாசனை மரங்கள் பிற்பாடு வந்ததுமில்லை, இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் காணப்படவுமில்லை.

12. And from the sandal-wood the king made pillars for the house of the Lord, and for the king's house, and instruments of music for the makers of melody: never has such sandal-wood been seen to this day.

13. ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் தானே சந்தோஷமாய்ச் சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீக்கு வெகுமதிகள் கொடுத்ததும் அல்லாமல், அவள் விருப்பப்பட்டுக் கேட்டது எல்லாவற்றையும் அவளுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; பின்பு அவள் தன் பரிவாரத்தோடே தன் தேசத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போனாள்.

13. And King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she made request for, in addition to what he gave her freely from the impulse of his heart. So she went back to her country, she and her servants.

14. சாலொமோனுக்கு வியாபாரிகளாலும், சுகந்த திரவிய வர்த்தகராலும், அரபிதேசத்து சகல ராஜாக்களாலும், மாகாணங்களின் அதிபதிகளாலும் வந்த பொன்னையல்லாமல்,

14. Now the weight of gold which came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents;

15. ஒவ்வொரு வருஷத்தில் அவனுக்கு வந்த பொன் அறுநூற்று அறுபத்தாறு தாலந்து நிறையாயிருந்தது.

15. In addition to what came to him from the business of the traders, and from all the kings of the Arabians, and from the rulers of the country.

16. சாலொமோன் ராஜா, அடித்த பொன்தகட்டால் இருநூறு பரிசைகளைச் செய்வித்தான்; ஒவ்வொரு பரிசைக்கு அறுநூறு சேக்கல் நிறைபொன் சென்றது.

16. And Solomon made two hundred body-covers of hammered gold, every one having six hundred shekels of gold in it.

17. அடித்த பொன்தகட்டால் முந்நூறு கேடகங்களையும் செய்வித்தான்; ஒவ்வொரு கேடகத்திற்கு மூன்று இராத்தல் பொன் சென்றது; அவைகளை ராஜா லீபனோன் வனம் என்னும் மாளிகையிலே வைத்தான்.

17. And he made three hundred smaller body-covers of hammered gold, with three pounds of gold in every cover: and the king put them in the house of the Woods of Lebanon.

18. ராஜா தந்தத்தினால் பெரிய ஒரு சிங்காசனத்தையும் செய்வித்து, அதைப் பசும்பொன்தகட்டால் மூடினான்.

18. Then the king made a great ivory seat, plated with the best gold.

19. அந்தச் சிங்காசனத்திற்கு ஆறு படிகள் இருந்தது; சிங்காசனத்தின் தலைப்பு பின்னாக வளைவாயிருந்தது; உட்காரும் இடத்திற்கு இருபுறமும் கைச்சாய்மானங்கள் இருந்தது; இரண்டு சிங்கங்கள் கைச்சாய்மானங்கள் அருகே நின்றது.

19. There were six steps going up to it, and the top of it was round at the back, there were arms on the two sides of the seat, and two lions by the side of the arms;

20. ஆறு படிகளின்மேலும், இரண்டு பக்கத்திலும், பன்னிரண்டு சிங்கங்கள் நின்றது; எந்த ராஜ்யத்திலும் இப்படிப் பண்ணப்படவில்லை.

20. And twelve lions were placed on the one side and on the other side on the six steps: there was nothing like it in any kingdom.

21. ராஜாவாகிய சாலோமோனுக்கு இருந்த பானபாத்திரங்களெல்லாம் பொன்னும், லீபனோன் வனம் என்கிற மாளிகையின் பணிமுட்டுகளெல்லாம் பசும்பொன்னுமாயிருந்தது; ஒன்றும் வெள்ளியினால் செய்யப்படவில்லை; சாலொமோனின் நாட்களில் வெள்ளி ஒரு பொருளாய் எண்ணப்படவில்லை.

21. And all King Solomon's drinking-vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the Woods of Lebanon were of the best gold; not one was of silver, for no one gave a thought to silver in the days of King Solomon.

22. ராஜாவுக்குச் சமுத்திரத்திலே ஈராமின் கப்பல்களோடேகூடத் தர்ஷீசின் கப்பல்களும் இருந்தது; தர்ஷீசின் கப்பல்கள் மூன்று வருஷத்துக்கு ஒருதரம் பொன்னையும், வெள்ளியையும், யானைத்தந்தங்களையும், குரங்குகளையும், மயில்களையும் கொண்டுவரும்.

22. For the king had Tarshish-ships at sea with the ships of Hiram; once every three years the Tarshish-ships came with gold and silver and ivory and monkeys and peacocks.

23. பூமியின் சகல ராஜாக்களைப்பார்க்கிலும், ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் ஐசுவரியத்திலும் ஞானத்திலும் சிறந்தவனாயிருந்தான்.

23. And King Solomon was greater than all the kings of the earth in wealth and in wisdom.

24. சாலொமோனின் இருதயத்திலே தேவன் அருளிய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்கிறதற்காக, சகல தேசத்தாரும் அவன் முகதரிசனத்தைத் தேடினார்கள்.

24. And from all over the earth they came to see Solomon and to give ear to his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

25. வருஷாவருஷம் அவரவர் தங்கள் காணிக்கையாகிய வெள்ளிப்பாத்திரங்களையும், பொற்பாத்திரங்களையும், வஸ்திரங்களையும், ஆயுதங்களையும், கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும், குதிரைகளையும், கோவேறு கழுதைகளையும் கொண்டு வருவார்கள்.

25. And everyone took with him an offering, vessels of silver and vessels of gold, and robes, and coats of metal, and spices, and horses, and beasts of transport, regularly year by year.

26. சாலொமோன் இரதங்களையும் குதிரைவீரரையும் சேர்த்தான்; அவனுக்கு ஆயிரத்துநானூறு இரதங்கள் இருந்தது, பன்னீராயிரம் குதிரைவீரரும் இருந்தார்கள்; அவைகளை இரதங்கள் வைக்கும் பட்டணங்களிலும், அவர்களை எருசலேமில் தன்னிடத்திலும் வைத்திருந்தான்.

26. And Solomon got together war-carriages and horsemen; he had one thousand, four hundred carriages and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he kept, some in the carriage-towns and some with the king at Jerusalem.

27. எருசலேமிலே ராஜா வெள்ளியைக் கற்கள் போலவும், கேதுருமரங்களைப் பள்ளத்தாக்குகளில் இருக்கும் காட்டத்திமரங்கள்போலவும் அதிகமாக்கினான்.

27. And the king made silver as common as stones in Jerusalem and cedars like the sycamore-trees of the lowlands in number.

28. சாலொமோன் தனக்குக் குதிரைகளையும் புடவைகளையும் எகிப்திலிருந்து அழைப்பித்தான்; ராஜாவின் வர்த்தகர் புடவைகளை ஒப்பந்த விலைக்கிரயத்திற்கு வாங்கினார்கள்.

28. And Solomon's horses came from Egypt and from Kue; the king's traders got them at a price from Kue.

29. எகிப்திலிருந்து வந்த ஒவ்வொரு இரதத்தின் விலை அறுநூறு வெள்ளிக்காசும், ஒவ்வொரு குதிரையின் விலை நூற்றைம்பது வெள்ளிக் காசுமாயிருந்தது; இந்தப்பிரகாரம் ஏத்தியரின் ராஜாக்களெல்லாருக்கும், சீரியாவின் ராஜாக்களுக்கும், அவர்கள் மூலமாய்க் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டது.

29. A war-carriage might be got from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; they got them at the same rate for all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Aram.
