1. பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: நீர் இங்கே எனக்கு ஏழு பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டி, ஏழு காளைகளையும் ஏழு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் இங்கே எனக்கு ஆயத்தப்படுத்தும் என்றான்.

1. And Balaam sayd vnto Balak, Builde me here seuen altars, and prepare me here seuen bullockes, and seuen rammes.

2. பிலேயாம் சொன்னபடியே பாலாக் செய்தான்; பாலாகும் பிலேயாமும் ஒவ்வொரு பீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டார்கள்.

2. And Balak did as Balaam sayd, and Balak and Balaam offred on euery altar a bullocke and a ramme.

3. பின்பு பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலியண்டையில் நில்லும், நான் போய்வருகிறேன்; கர்த்தர் வந்து என்னைச் சந்திக்கிறதாயிருக்கும்; அவர் எனக்கு வெளிப்படுத்துவதை உமக்கு அறிவிப்பேன் என்று சொல்லி, ஒரு மேட்டின்மேல் ஏறினான்.

3. Then Balaam sayde vnto Balak, Stande by the burnt offring, and I will goe, if so be that the Lord will come and meete me: and whatsoeuer he sheweth me, I will tell thee: so he went forth alone.

4. தேவன் பிலேயாமைச் சந்தித்தார்; அப்பொழுது அவன் அவரை நோக்கி: நான் ஏழு பலிபீடங்களை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணி, ஒவ்வொரு பலிபீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டேன் என்றான்.

4. And God met Balaam, and Balaam sayd vnto him, I haue prepared seuen altars, and haue offred vpon euery altar a bullocke and a ramme.

5. கர்த்தர் பிலேயாமின் வாயிலே வாக்கு அருளி: நீ பாலாகினிடத்தில் திரும்பிப் போய், இவ்விதமாய்ச் சொல்லக்கடவாய் என்றார்.

5. And the Lord put an answere in Balaams mouth, and sayde, Go againe to Balak, and say on this wise.

6. அவனிடத்துக்கு அவன் திரும்பிப்போனான்; பாலாக் மோவாபுடைய சகல பிரபுக்களோடுங்கூட தன் சர்வாங்கதகனபலியண்டையிலே நின்று கொண்டிருந்தான்.

6. So when he returned vnto him, loe, hee stoode by his burnt offering, he, and all the princes of Moab.

7. அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: மோவாபின் ராஜாவாகிய பாலாக் என்னைக் கிழக்கு மலைகளிலுள்ள ஆராமிலிருந்து வரவழைத்து: நீ வந்து எனக்காக யாக்கோபைச் சபிக்கவேண்டும்; நீ வந்து இஸ்ரவேலை வெறுத்துவிடவேண்டும் என்று சொன்னான்.

7. Then he vttered his parable, and sayde, Balak the king of Moab hath brought mee from Aram out of the mountaines of the East, saying, Come, curse Iaakob for my sake: come, and detest Israel.

8. தேவன் சபிக்காதவனை நான் சபிப்பதெப்படி? கர்த்தர் வெறுக்காதவனை நான் வெறுப்பதெப்படி?

8. How shall I curse, where God hath not cursed? or howe shall I detest, where the Lord hath not detested?

9. கன்மலையுச்சியிலிருந்து நான் அவனைக் கண்டு, குன்றுகளிலிருந்து அவனைப் பார்க்கிறேன்; அந்த ஜனங்கள் ஜாதிகளோடே கலவாமல் தனியே வாசமாயிருப்பார்கள்.

9. For from the top of the rocks I did see him, and from the hils I did beholde him: lo, the people shall dwell by themselues, and shall not be reckened among the nations.

10. யாக்கோபின் தூளை எண்ணத்தக்கவன் யார்? இஸ்ரவேலின் காற்பங்கை எண்ணுகிறவன் யார்? நீதிமான் மரிப்பதுபோல் நான் மரிப்பேனாக, என் முடிவு அவன் முடிவுபோல் இருப்பதாக என்றான்.

10. Who can tell the dust of Iaakob, and the nomber of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last ende be like his.

11. அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: நீர் எனக்கு என்ன செய்தீர்; என் சத்துருக்களைச் சபிக்கும்படி உம்மை அழைப்பித்தேன்; நீர் அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவே ஆசீர்வதித்தீர் என்றான்.

11. Then Balak saide vnto Balaam, What hast thou done vnto mee? I tooke thee to curse mine enemies, and beholde, thou hast blessed them altogether.

12. அதற்கு அவன்: கர்த்தர் என் வாயில் அருளினதையே சொல்வது என் கடமையல்லவா என்றான்.

12. And he answered, and said, Must I not take heede to speake that, which the Lord hath put in my mouth?

13. பின்பு பாலாக் அவனை நோக்கி: நீர் அவர்களைப் பார்க்கத்தக்க வேறொரு இடத்திற்கு என்னோடேகூட வாரும்; அங்கே அவர்கள் எல்லாரையும் பாராமல், அவர்களுடைய கடைசிப் பாளயத்தை மாத்திரம் பார்ப்பீர்; அங்கேயிருந்து எனக்காக அவர்களைச் சபிக்கவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லி,

13. And Balak sayde vnto him, Come, I pray thee, with mee vnto another place, whence thou mayest see them, and thou shalt see but the vtmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: therefore curse them out of that place for my sake.

14. அவனைப் பிஸ்காவின் கொடுமுடியில் இருக்கிற சோப்பீமின் வெளியிலே அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், ஏழு பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டி, ஒவ்வொரு பீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டான்.

14. And he brought him into Sede-sophim to the top of Pisgah, and built seuen altars, and offred a bullocke, and a ramme on euery altar.

15. அப்பொழுது பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: இங்கே உம்முடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலியண்டையில் நில்லும்; நான் அங்கே போய்க் கர்த்தரைச் சந்தித்துவருகிறேன் என்றான்.

15. After, he sayde vnto Balak, Stande here by thy burnt offring, and I wil meete the Lord yonder.

16. கர்த்தர் பிலேயாமைச் சந்தித்து, அவன் வாயிலே வசனத்தை அருளி; நீ பாலாகினிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போய், இவ்விதமாய்ச் சொல்லக்கடவாய் என்றார்.

16. And the Lord mette Balaam, and put an answere in his mouth, and sayd, Goe againe vnto Balak, and say thus.

17. அவனிடத்திற்கு அவன் வருகிறபோது, அவன் மோவாபின் பிரபுக்களோடுங்கூடத் தன்னுடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலியண்டையிலே நின்று கொண்டிருந்தான்; பாலாக் அவனை நோக்கி: கர்த்தர் என்ன சொன்னார் என்று கேட்டான்.

17. And when he came to him, beholde, hee stoode by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him: so Balak sayde vnto him, What hath the Lord sayd?

18. அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: பாலாகே, எழுந்திருந்து கேளும்; சிப்போரின் குமாரனே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடும்.

18. And he vttered his parable, and sayde, Rise vp, Balak, and heare: hearken vnto me, thou sonne of Zippor.

19. பொய் சொல்ல தேவன் ஒரு மனிதன் அல்ல; மனம்மாற அவர் ஒரு மனுபுத்திரனும் அல்ல; அவர் சொல்லியும் செய்யாதிருப்பாரா? அவர் வசனித்தும் நிறைவேற்றாதிருப்பாரா?

19. God is not as man, that he should lie, neither as the sonne of man that he shoulde repent: hath he sayde and shall he not do it? and hath he spoken, and shall he not accomplish it?

20. இதோ, ஆசீர்வதிக்கக் கட்டளைபெற்றேன்; அவர் ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறார், அதை நான் திருப்பக்கூடாது.

20. Behold, I haue receiued commandement to blesse: for he hath blessed, and I cannot alter it.

21. அவர் யாக்கோபிலே அக்கிரமத்தைக் காண்கிறதும் இல்லை, இஸ்ரவேலிலே குற்றம் பார்க்கிறதும் இல்லை; அவர்களுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவர்களோடே இருக்கிறார்; ராஜாவின் ஜயகெம்பீரம் அவர்களுக்குள்ளே இருக்கிறது.

21. Hee seeth none iniquitie in Iaakob, nor seeth no transgression in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the ioyfull shoute of a king is among them.

22. தேவன் அவர்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார்; காண்டாமிருகத்துக்கொத்த பெலன் அவர்களுக்கு உண்டு.

22. God brought them out of Egypt: their strength is as an vnicorne.

23. யாக்கோபுக்கு விரோதமான மந்திரவாதம் இல்லை, இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு விரோதமான குறிசொல்லுதலும் இல்லை; தேவன் என்னென்ன செய்தார் என்று கொஞ்சக்காலத்திலே யாக்கோபையும் இஸ்ரவேலையும் குறித்துச் சொல்லப்படும்.

23. For there is no sorcerie in Iaakob, nor soothsaying in Israel: according to this time it shalbe sayde of Iaakob and of Israel, What hath God wrought?

24. அந்த ஜனம் துஷ்ட சிங்கம்போல எழும்பும், பால சிங்கம்போல நிமிர்ந்து நிற்கும்; அது தான் பிடித்த இரையைப்பட்சித்து, வெட்டுண்டவர்களின் இரத்தத்தைக் குடிக்குமட்டும் படுத்துக்கொள்வதில்லை என்றான்.

24. Behold, the people shall rise vp as a lyon, and lift vp himselfe as a yong lyon: hee shall not lye downe, till he eate of the pray, and till he drinke the blood of the slayne.

25. அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: நீர் அவர்களைச் சபிக்கவும் வேண்டாம், அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவும் வேண்டாம் என்றான்.

25. Then Balak sayde vnto Balaam, Neither curse, nor blesse them at all.

26. அதற்குப் பிலேயாம் பாலாகைப் பார்த்து: கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறபடியெல்லாம் செய்வேன் என்று உம்மோடே நான் சொல்லவில்லையா என்றான்.

26. But Balaam answered, and saide vnto Balak, Tolde not I thee, saying, All that the Lord speaketh, that must I do?

27. அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: வாரும், வேறொரு இடத்திற்கு உம்மை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போகிறேன்; நீர் அங்கேயிருந்தாவது எனக்காக அவர்களைச் சபிக்கிறது தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமாயிருக்கும் என்று சொல்லி,

27. Againe Balak sayd vnto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I wil bring thee vnto another place, if so be it wil please God, that thou mayest thence curse them for my sake.

28. அவனை எஷிமோனுக்கு எதிராயிருக்கிற பேயோரின் கொடுமுடிக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போனான்.

28. So Balak brought Balaam vnto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Ieshmon.

29. அப்பொழுது பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: இங்கே எனக்கு ஏழு பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டி, இங்கே எனக்கு ஏழு காளைகளையும் ஏழு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் ஆயத்தம்பண்ணும் என்றான்.

29. Then Balaam sayde vnto Balak, Make me here seuen altars, and prepare me here seuen bullocks, and seuen rammes.

30. பிலேயாம் சொன்னபடி பாலாக் செய்து, ஒவ்வொரு பீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டான்.

30. And Balak did as Balaam had sayd, and offred a bullocke and a ram on euery altar.
