1. பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: நீர் இங்கே எனக்கு ஏழு பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டி, ஏழு காளைகளையும் ஏழு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் இங்கே எனக்கு ஆயத்தப்படுத்தும் என்றான்.

1. And Balaam saith unto Balak, 'Build for me in this [place] seven altars, and make ready for me in this [place] seven bullocks and seven rams.'

2. பிலேயாம் சொன்னபடியே பாலாக் செய்தான்; பாலாகும் பிலேயாமும் ஒவ்வொரு பீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டார்கள்.

2. And Balak doth as Balaam hath spoken, and Balak -- Balaam also -- offereth a bullock and a ram on the altar,

3. பின்பு பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலியண்டையில் நில்லும், நான் போய்வருகிறேன்; கர்த்தர் வந்து என்னைச் சந்திக்கிறதாயிருக்கும்; அவர் எனக்கு வெளிப்படுத்துவதை உமக்கு அறிவிப்பேன் என்று சொல்லி, ஒரு மேட்டின்மேல் ஏறினான்.

3. and Balaam saith to Balak, 'Station thyself by thy burnt-offering and I go on, it may be Jehovah doth come to meet me, and the thing which He sheweth me -- I have declared to thee;' and he goeth [to] a high place.

4. தேவன் பிலேயாமைச் சந்தித்தார்; அப்பொழுது அவன் அவரை நோக்கி: நான் ஏழு பலிபீடங்களை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணி, ஒவ்வொரு பலிபீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டேன் என்றான்.

4. And God cometh unto Balaam, and he saith unto Him, 'The seven altars I have arranged, and I offer a bullock and a ram on the altar;'

5. கர்த்தர் பிலேயாமின் வாயிலே வாக்கு அருளி: நீ பாலாகினிடத்தில் திரும்பிப் போய், இவ்விதமாய்ச் சொல்லக்கடவாய் என்றார்.

5. and Jehovah putteth a word in the mouth of Balaam, and saith, 'Turn back unto Balak, and thus thou dost speak.'

6. அவனிடத்துக்கு அவன் திரும்பிப்போனான்; பாலாக் மோவாபுடைய சகல பிரபுக்களோடுங்கூட தன் சர்வாங்கதகனபலியண்டையிலே நின்று கொண்டிருந்தான்.

6. And he turneth back unto him, and lo, he is standing by his burnt-offering, he and all the princes of Moab.

7. அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: மோவாபின் ராஜாவாகிய பாலாக் என்னைக் கிழக்கு மலைகளிலுள்ள ஆராமிலிருந்து வரவழைத்து: நீ வந்து எனக்காக யாக்கோபைச் சபிக்கவேண்டும்; நீ வந்து இஸ்ரவேலை வெறுத்துவிடவேண்டும் என்று சொன்னான்.

7. And he taketh up his simile, and saith: 'From Aram he doth lead me -- Balak king of Moab; From mountains of the east: Come -- curse for me Jacob, And come -- be indignant [with] Israel.

8. தேவன் சபிக்காதவனை நான் சபிப்பதெப்படி? கர்த்தர் வெறுக்காதவனை நான் வெறுப்பதெப்படி?

8. What -- do I pierce? -- God hath not pierced! And what -- am I indignant? -- Jehovah hath not been indignant!

9. கன்மலையுச்சியிலிருந்து நான் அவனைக் கண்டு, குன்றுகளிலிருந்து அவனைப் பார்க்கிறேன்; அந்த ஜனங்கள் ஜாதிகளோடே கலவாமல் தனியே வாசமாயிருப்பார்கள்.

9. For from the top of rocks I see it, And from heights I behold it; Lo a people! alone it doth tabernacle, And among nations doth not reckon itself.

10. யாக்கோபின் தூளை எண்ணத்தக்கவன் யார்? இஸ்ரவேலின் காற்பங்கை எண்ணுகிறவன் யார்? நீதிமான் மரிப்பதுபோல் நான் மரிப்பேனாக, என் முடிவு அவன் முடிவுபோல் இருப்பதாக என்றான்.

10. Who hath counted the dust of Jacob, And the number of the fourth of Israel? Let me die the death of upright ones, And let my last end be like his!'

11. அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: நீர் எனக்கு என்ன செய்தீர்; என் சத்துருக்களைச் சபிக்கும்படி உம்மை அழைப்பித்தேன்; நீர் அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவே ஆசீர்வதித்தீர் என்றான்.

11. And Balak saith unto Balaam, 'What hast thou done to me? to pierce mine enemies I have taken thee -- and lo, thou hast certainly blessed;'

12. அதற்கு அவன்: கர்த்தர் என் வாயில் அருளினதையே சொல்வது என் கடமையல்லவா என்றான்.

12. and he answereth and saith, 'That which Jehovah doth put in my mouth -- it do I not take heed to speak?'

13. பின்பு பாலாக் அவனை நோக்கி: நீர் அவர்களைப் பார்க்கத்தக்க வேறொரு இடத்திற்கு என்னோடேகூட வாரும்; அங்கே அவர்கள் எல்லாரையும் பாராமல், அவர்களுடைய கடைசிப் பாளயத்தை மாத்திரம் பார்ப்பீர்; அங்கேயிருந்து எனக்காக அவர்களைச் சபிக்கவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லி,

13. And Balak saith unto him, 'Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, whence thou dost see it, only its extremity thou dost see, and all of it thou dost not see, and pierce it for me thence;'

14. அவனைப் பிஸ்காவின் கொடுமுடியில் இருக்கிற சோப்பீமின் வெளியிலே அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், ஏழு பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டி, ஒவ்வொரு பீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டான்.

14. and he taketh him [to] the field of Zophim, unto the top of Pisgah, and buildeth seven altars, and offereth a bullock and a ram on the altar.

15. அப்பொழுது பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: இங்கே உம்முடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலியண்டையில் நில்லும்; நான் அங்கே போய்க் கர்த்தரைச் சந்தித்துவருகிறேன் என்றான்.

15. And he saith unto Balak, 'Station thyself here by thy burnt-offering, and I -- I meet [Him] there;'

16. கர்த்தர் பிலேயாமைச் சந்தித்து, அவன் வாயிலே வசனத்தை அருளி; நீ பாலாகினிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போய், இவ்விதமாய்ச் சொல்லக்கடவாய் என்றார்.

16. and Jehovah cometh unto Balaam, and setteth a word in his mouth, and saith, 'Turn back unto Balak, and thus thou dost speak.'

17. அவனிடத்திற்கு அவன் வருகிறபோது, அவன் மோவாபின் பிரபுக்களோடுங்கூடத் தன்னுடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலியண்டையிலே நின்று கொண்டிருந்தான்; பாலாக் அவனை நோக்கி: கர்த்தர் என்ன சொன்னார் என்று கேட்டான்.

17. And he cometh unto him, and lo, he is standing by his burnt-offering, and the princes of Moab with him, and Balak saith to him: 'What hath Jehovah spoken?'

18. அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: பாலாகே, எழுந்திருந்து கேளும்; சிப்போரின் குமாரனே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடும்.

18. And he taketh up his simile, and saith: 'Rise, Balak, and hear; Give ear unto me, son of Zippor!

19. பொய் சொல்ல தேவன் ஒரு மனிதன் அல்ல; மனம்மாற அவர் ஒரு மனுபுத்திரனும் அல்ல; அவர் சொல்லியும் செய்யாதிருப்பாரா? அவர் வசனித்தும் நிறைவேற்றாதிருப்பாரா?

19. God [is] not a man -- and lieth, And a son of man -- and repenteth! Hath He said -- and doth He not do [it]? And spoken -- and doth He not confirm it?

20. இதோ, ஆசீர்வதிக்கக் கட்டளைபெற்றேன்; அவர் ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறார், அதை நான் திருப்பக்கூடாது.

20. Lo, to bless I have received: Yea, He blesseth, and I [can] not reverse it.

21. அவர் யாக்கோபிலே அக்கிரமத்தைக் காண்கிறதும் இல்லை, இஸ்ரவேலிலே குற்றம் பார்க்கிறதும் இல்லை; அவர்களுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவர்களோடே இருக்கிறார்; ராஜாவின் ஜயகெம்பீரம் அவர்களுக்குள்ளே இருக்கிறது.

21. He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, Nor hath He seen perverseness in Israel; Jehovah his God [is] with him, And a shout of a king [is] in him.

22. தேவன் அவர்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார்; காண்டாமிருகத்துக்கொத்த பெலன் அவர்களுக்கு உண்டு.

22. God is bringing them out from Egypt, As the swiftness of a Reem is to him;

23. யாக்கோபுக்கு விரோதமான மந்திரவாதம் இல்லை, இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு விரோதமான குறிசொல்லுதலும் இல்லை; தேவன் என்னென்ன செய்தார் என்று கொஞ்சக்காலத்திலே யாக்கோபையும் இஸ்ரவேலையும் குறித்துச் சொல்லப்படும்.

23. For no enchantment [is] against Jacob, Nor divination against Israel, At the time it is said of Jacob and Israel, What hath God wrought!

24. அந்த ஜனம் துஷ்ட சிங்கம்போல எழும்பும், பால சிங்கம்போல நிமிர்ந்து நிற்கும்; அது தான் பிடித்த இரையைப்பட்சித்து, வெட்டுண்டவர்களின் இரத்தத்தைக் குடிக்குமட்டும் படுத்துக்கொள்வதில்லை என்றான்.

24. Lo, the people as a lioness riseth, And as a lion he lifteth himself up, He lieth not down till he eateth prey, And blood of pierced ones doth drink.'

25. அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: நீர் அவர்களைச் சபிக்கவும் வேண்டாம், அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவும் வேண்டாம் என்றான்.

25. And Balak saith unto Balaam, 'Neither pierce it at all, nor bless it at all;'

26. அதற்குப் பிலேயாம் பாலாகைப் பார்த்து: கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறபடியெல்லாம் செய்வேன் என்று உம்மோடே நான் சொல்லவில்லையா என்றான்.

26. and Balaam answereth and saith unto Balak, 'Have I not spoken unto thee, saying, All that Jehovah speaketh -- it I do?'

27. அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: வாரும், வேறொரு இடத்திற்கு உம்மை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போகிறேன்; நீர் அங்கேயிருந்தாவது எனக்காக அவர்களைச் சபிக்கிறது தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமாயிருக்கும் என்று சொல்லி,

27. And Balak saith unto Balaam, 'Come, I pray thee, I take thee unto another place; it may be it is right in the eyes of God -- to pierce it for me from thence.'

28. அவனை எஷிமோனுக்கு எதிராயிருக்கிற பேயோரின் கொடுமுடிக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போனான்.

28. And Balak taketh Balaam to the top of Peor, which is looking on the front of the wilderness,

29. அப்பொழுது பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: இங்கே எனக்கு ஏழு பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டி, இங்கே எனக்கு ஏழு காளைகளையும் ஏழு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் ஆயத்தம்பண்ணும் என்றான்.

29. and Balaam saith unto Balak, 'Build for me in this [place] seven altars, and make ready for me in this [place] seven bullocks and seven rams;'

30. பிலேயாம் சொன்னபடி பாலாக் செய்து, ஒவ்வொரு பீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டான்.

30. and Balak doth as Balaam said, and he offereth a bullock and a ram on an altar.
