1. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ பார்வோனிடத்தில் போய்: எனக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்ய என் ஜனங்களை அனுப்பிவிடு.

1. Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, 'Stretch out your hand with your staff, over the rivers, the canals and the marshland, and bring the frogs up over the land of Egypt.' '

2. நீ அவர்களை அனுப்பிவிடமாட்டேன் என்பாயாகில், உன் எல்லை அடங்கலையும் தவளைகளால் வாதிப்பேன்.

2. So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.

3. But by their spells the magicians did the same, bringing frogs over the land of Egypt.

4. Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Entreat Yahweh to take the frogs away from me and my subjects, and I promise to let the people go and sacrifice to Yahweh.'

5. மேலும் கர்த்தர் மோசேயினிடத்தில் நீ ஆரோனை நோக்கி: நீ உன் கையில் இருக்கிற கோலை நதிகள்மேலும், வாய்க்கால்கள்மேலும், குளங்கள்மேலும் நீட்டி, எகிப்துதேசத்தின்மேல் தவளைகளை வரும்படி செய் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

5. Moses said to Pharaoh, 'You are the one to gain by it: when would you like me to pray for you, your officials and your subjects, so as to rid you and your houses of the frogs so that they will be left only in the River?'

6. அப்படியே ஆரோன் தன் கையை எகிப்திலுள்ள தண்ணீர்கள்மேல் நீட்டினான்; அப்பொழுது தவளைகள் வந்து, எகிப்து தேசத்தை மூடிக்கொண்டது.

6. 'Tomorrow,' he said. Moses said, 'It shall be as you say, so that you will know that there is no one like Yahweh our God.

7. மந்திரவாதிகளும் தங்கள் மந்திரவித்தையினால் அப்படிச் செய்து, எகிப்து தேசத்தின்மேல் தவளைகளை வரப்பண்ணினார்கள்.

7. The frogs will leave you, your houses, your officials and your subjects and will be left only in the River.'

8. பார்வோன் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் அழைப்பித்து: அந்தத் தவளைகள் என்னையும் என் ஜனங்களையும் விட்டு நீங்கும்படி கர்த்தரை நோக்கி வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; கர்த்தருக்குப் பலியிடும்படி ஜனங்களைப் போகவிடுவேன் என்றான்.

8. Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh's presence, and Moses pleaded with Yahweh about the frogs which he had inflicted on Pharaoh.

9. அப்பொழுது மோசே பார்வோனை நோக்கி: தவளைகள் நதியிலே மாத்திரம் இருக்கத்தக்கதாய் அவைகளை உம்மிடத்திலும் உம்முடைய வீட்டிலும் இல்லாமல் ஒழிந்துபோகும்படி செய்ய, உமக்காகவும் உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரருக்காகவும் உம்முடைய ஜனங்களுக்காகவும் நான் விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணவேண்டிய காலத்தைக் குறிக்கும் மேன்மை உமக்கே இருப்பதாக என்றான்.

9. Yahweh did as Moses asked, and in house and courtyard and field the frogs died.

10. அதற்கு அவன்: நாளைக்கு என்றான். அப்பொழுது இவன்: எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஒப்பானவர் இல்லை என்பதை நீர் அறியும்படிக்கு உம்முடைய வார்த்தையின்படி ஆகக்கடவது.

10. They piled them up in heaps and the country stank.

11. தவளைகள் உம்மையும், உம்முடைய வீட்டையும், உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரையும், உம்முடைய ஜனங்களையும் விட்டு நீங்கி, நதியிலே மாத்திரம் இருக்கும் என்றான்.

11. But once Pharaoh saw that there had been a respite, he became obstinate and, as Yahweh had foretold, refused to listen to them.

12. மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் பார்வோனை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டார்கள். பார்வோனுக்கு விரோதமாக வரப்பண்ணின தவளைகள் நிமித்தம் மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டான்.

12. Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, 'Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, and it will turn into mosquitoes throughout the whole of Egypt.' '

13. கர்த்தர் மோசேயின் சொற்படி செய்தார்; வீடுகளிலும் முற்றங்களிலும் வயல்களிலும் இருந்த தவளைகள் செத்துப்போயிற்று.

13. Aaron stretched out his hand, with his staff, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were mosquitoes on man and beast; all the dust of the earth turned into mosquitoes throughout the whole of Egypt.

14. அவைகளைக் குவியல் குவியலாகச் சேர்த்தார்கள்; அதினால் பூமியெங்கும் நாற்றம் எடுத்தது.

14. By their spells the magicians tried to produce mosquitoes in the same way but failed, and there were mosquitoes on man and beast.

15. இலகுவுண்டாயிற்றென்று பார்வோன் கண்டபோதோ, தன் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தி, அவர்களுக்குச் செவிகொடாமற்போனான்; கர்த்தர் சொல்லியிருந்தபடி ஆயிற்று.

15. So the magicians said to Pharaoh, 'This is the finger of God.' But Pharaoh was obstinate and, as Yahweh had foretold, refused to listen to them.

16. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயினிடத்தில்: நீ ஆரோனை நோக்கி: உன் கோலை நீட்டி, பூமியின் புழுதியின்மேல் அடி; அப்பொழுது அது எகிப்து தேசம் எங்கும் பேன்களாய்ப்போம் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

16. Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Get up early in the morning and confront Pharaoh as he makes his way to the water. Say to him, 'Yahweh says this: Let my people go and worship me.

17. அப்படியே செய்தார்கள்; ஆரோன் தன் கையில் இருந்த தன் கோலை நீட்டி, பூமியின் புழுதியின்மேல் அடித்தான்; அப்பொழுது அது மனிதர்மேலும் மிருகஜீவன்கள்மேலும் பேன்களாய் எகிப்து தேசம் எங்கும் பூமியின் புழுதியெல்லாம் பேன்களாயிற்று.

17. But if you will not let my people go, I shall send horseflies on you, on your officials, your subjects and your houses. The Egyptians' houses will swarm with horseflies, and so will the very ground they stand on.

18. மந்திரவாதிகளும் தங்கள் மந்திரவித்தையினால் பேன்களைப் பிறப்பிக்கும்படிப் பிரயத்தனஞ்செய்தார்கள்; செய்தும், அவர்களால் கூடாமற்போயிற்று; பேன்கள் மனிதர்மேலும் மிருகஜீவன்கள்மேலும் இருந்தது.

18. But I shall exempt the region of Goshen, where my people are living, that day; there will be no horseflies there, so that you will know that I am Yahweh, here in this country.

19. அப்பொழுது மந்திரவாதிகள் பார்வோனை நோக்கி: இது தேவனுடைய விரல் என்றார்கள். ஆனாலும், கர்த்தர் சொல்லிருந்தபடி பார்வோனுடைய இருதயம் கடினப்பட்டது; அவர்களுக்குச் செவிகொடாமற்போனான்.

19. I shall make a distinction between my people and your people. This sign will take place tomorrow.' '

20. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நாளை அதிகாலமே நீ எழுந்து போய், பார்வோன் நதிக்குப் புறப்பட்டு வரும்போது, அவனுக்கு முன்பாக நின்று: எனக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யும்படி என் ஜனங்களைப் போகவிடு.

20. Yahweh did this, and great swarms of horseflies found their way into Pharaoh's palace, into his officials' houses and all over Egypt; the country was ruined by the horseflies.

21. என் ஜனங்களைப் போகவிடாயாகில், நான் உன்மேலும், உன் ஊழியக்காரர்மேலும், உன் ஜனங்கள்மேலும், உன் வீடுகள்மேலும் பலவித வண்டுகளை அனுப்புவேன்; எகிப்தியர் வீடுகளும் அவர்கள் இருக்கிற தேசமும் அந்த வண்டுகளால் நிறையும்.

21. Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Go and sacrifice to your God, inside the country.'

22. பூமியின் நடுவில் நானே கர்த்தர் என்பதை நீ அறியும்படி என் ஜனங்கள் இருக்கிற கோசேன் நாட்டில் அந்நாளிலே வண்டுகள் வராதபடிக்கு, அந்த நாட்டை விசேஷப்படுத்தி,

22. 'That would never do,' Moses said, 'since what we sacrifice to Yahweh our God is outrageous to the Egyptians. If the Egyptians see us offering sacrifices which outrage them, won't they stone us?

23. என் ஜனங்களுக்கும் உன் ஜனங்களுக்கும் வித்தியாசம் உண்டாகும்படி செய்வேன்; இந்த அடையாளம் நாளைக்கு உண்டாகும் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

23. We shall make a three-days' journey into the desert to sacrifice to Yahweh our God, as he has ordered us.'

24. அப்படியே கர்த்தர் செய்தார்; மகா திரளான வண்டுஜாதிகள் பார்வோன் வீட்டிலும், அவன் ஊழியக்காரர் வீடுகளிலும், எகிப்து தேசம் முழுவதிலும் வந்தது; வண்டுகளினாலே தேசம் கெட்டுப்போயிற்று.

24. Pharaoh said, 'I will let you go and sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the desert, provided you do not go very far. Pray for me.'

25. அப்பொழுது பார்வோன் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் அழைப்பித்து: நீங்கள் போய், உங்கள் தேவனுக்கு தேசத்திலேதானே பலியிடுங்கள் என்றான்.

25. 'The moment I leave you,' Moses said, 'I shall pray to Yahweh. Tomorrow morning the horseflies will leave Pharaoh, his officials and his subjects. But Pharaoh must stop trifling with us by not allowing the people to go and sacrifice to Yahweh.'

26. அதற்கு மோசே: அப்படிச் செய்யத்தகாது; எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு நாங்கள் எகிப்தியருடைய அருவருப்பைப் பலியிடுகிறதாயிருக்குமே, எகிப்தியருடைய அருவருப்பை நாங்கள் அவர்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகப் பலியிட்டால், எங்களைக் கல்லெறிவார்கள் அல்லவா?

26. Moses then left Pharaoh's presence and prayed to Yahweh,

27. நாங்கள் வனாந்தரத்தில் மூன்று நாள் பிரயாணம்போய், எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எங்களுக்கு விதிக்கிறபடியே அவருக்குப் பலியிடுவோம் என்றான்.

27. and Yahweh did as Moses asked; the horseflies left Pharaoh, his officials and his subjects; not one remained.

28. அப்பொழுது பார்வோன்: நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு வனாந்தரத்தில் பலியிடும்படிக்கு, நான் உங்களைப் போகவிடுவேன்; ஆனாலும், நீங்கள் அதிக தூரமாய்ப் போகவேண்டாம்; எனக்காக வேண்டுதல் செய்யுங்கள் என்றான்.

28. But Pharaoh became obstinate this time too and did not let the people go.
