1. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ பார்வோனிடத்தில் போய்: எனக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்ய என் ஜனங்களை அனுப்பிவிடு.

1. Then the Lord told Moses, 'Go to the king of Egypt and tell him, 'This is what the Lord says: Let my people go to worship me.

2. நீ அவர்களை அனுப்பிவிடமாட்டேன் என்பாயாகில், உன் எல்லை அடங்கலையும் தவளைகளால் வாதிப்பேன்.

2. If you refuse, I will punish Egypt with frogs.

3. The Nile River will be filled with frogs. They will come up into your palace, into your bedroom, on your bed, into the houses of your officers, and onto your people. They will come into your ovens and into your baking pans.

4. The frogs will jump all over you, your people, and your officers.''

5. Then the Lord said to Moses, 'Tell Aaron to hold his walking stick in his hand over the rivers, canals, and ponds. Make frogs come up out of the water onto the land of Egypt.'

6. அப்படியே ஆரோன் தன் கையை எகிப்திலுள்ள தண்ணீர்கள்மேல் நீட்டினான்; அப்பொழுது தவளைகள் வந்து, எகிப்து தேசத்தை மூடிக்கொண்டது.

6. So Aaron held his hand over all the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up out of the water and covered the land of Egypt.

7. மந்திரவாதிகளும் தங்கள் மந்திரவித்தையினால் அப்படிச் செய்து, எகிப்து தேசத்தின்மேல் தவளைகளை வரப்பண்ணினார்கள்.

7. The magicians used their tricks to do the same thing, so even more frogs came up onto the land of Egypt.

8. பார்வோன் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் அழைப்பித்து: அந்தத் தவளைகள் என்னையும் என் ஜனங்களையும் விட்டு நீங்கும்படி கர்த்தரை நோக்கி வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; கர்த்தருக்குப் பலியிடும்படி ஜனங்களைப் போகவிடுவேன் என்றான்.

8. The king called for Moses and Aaron and said, 'Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people. I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.'

9. அப்பொழுது மோசே பார்வோனை நோக்கி: தவளைகள் நதியிலே மாத்திரம் இருக்கத்தக்கதாய் அவைகளை உம்மிடத்திலும் உம்முடைய வீட்டிலும் இல்லாமல் ஒழிந்துபோகும்படி செய்ய, உமக்காகவும் உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரருக்காகவும் உம்முடைய ஜனங்களுக்காகவும் நான் விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணவேண்டிய காலத்தைக் குறிக்கும் மேன்மை உமக்கே இருப்பதாக என்றான்.

9. Moses said to the king, 'Please set the time when I should pray for you, your people, and your officers. Then the frogs will leave you and your houses and will remain only in the Nile.'

10. அதற்கு அவன்: நாளைக்கு என்றான். அப்பொழுது இவன்: எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஒப்பானவர் இல்லை என்பதை நீர் அறியும்படிக்கு உம்முடைய வார்த்தையின்படி ஆகக்கடவது.

10. The king answered, 'Tomorrow.' Moses said, 'What you want will happen. By this you will know that there is no one like the Lord our God.

11. தவளைகள் உம்மையும், உம்முடைய வீட்டையும், உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரையும், உம்முடைய ஜனங்களையும் விட்டு நீங்கி, நதியிலே மாத்திரம் இருக்கும் என்றான்.

11. The frogs will leave you, your houses, your officers, and your people. They will remain only in the Nile.'

12. மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் பார்வோனை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டார்கள். பார்வோனுக்கு விரோதமாக வரப்பண்ணின தவளைகள் நிமித்தம் மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டான்.

12. After Moses and Aaron left the king, Moses asked the Lord about the frogs he had sent to the king.

13. கர்த்தர் மோசேயின் சொற்படி செய்தார்; வீடுகளிலும் முற்றங்களிலும் வயல்களிலும் இருந்த தவளைகள் செத்துப்போயிற்று.

13. And the Lord did as Moses asked. The frogs died in the houses, in the yards, and in the fields.

14. அவைகளைக் குவியல் குவியலாகச் சேர்த்தார்கள்; அதினால் பூமியெங்கும் நாற்றம் எடுத்தது.

14. The Egyptians put them in piles, and the whole country began to stink.

15. இலகுவுண்டாயிற்றென்று பார்வோன் கண்டபோதோ, தன் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தி, அவர்களுக்குச் செவிகொடாமற்போனான்; கர்த்தர் சொல்லியிருந்தபடி ஆயிற்று.

15. But when the king saw that they were free of the frogs, he became stubborn again. He did not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said.

16. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயினிடத்தில்: நீ ஆரோனை நோக்கி: உன் கோலை நீட்டி, பூமியின் புழுதியின்மேல் அடி; அப்பொழுது அது எகிப்து தேசம் எங்கும் பேன்களாய்ப்போம் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

16. Then the Lord said to Moses, 'Tell Aaron to raise his walking stick and strike the dust on the ground. Then everywhere in Egypt the dust will change into gnats.'

17. அப்படியே செய்தார்கள்; ஆரோன் தன் கையில் இருந்த தன் கோலை நீட்டி, பூமியின் புழுதியின்மேல் அடித்தான்; அப்பொழுது அது மனிதர்மேலும் மிருகஜீவன்கள்மேலும் பேன்களாய் எகிப்து தேசம் எங்கும் பூமியின் புழுதியெல்லாம் பேன்களாயிற்று.

17. They did this, and when Aaron raised the walking stick that was in his hand and struck the dust on the ground, everywhere in Egypt the dust changed into gnats. The gnats got on the people and animals.

18. மந்திரவாதிகளும் தங்கள் மந்திரவித்தையினால் பேன்களைப் பிறப்பிக்கும்படிப் பிரயத்தனஞ்செய்தார்கள்; செய்தும், அவர்களால் கூடாமற்போயிற்று; பேன்கள் மனிதர்மேலும் மிருகஜீவன்கள்மேலும் இருந்தது.

18. Using their tricks, the magicians tried to do the same thing, but they could not make the dust change into gnats. The gnats remained on the people and animals.

19. So the magicians told the king that the power of God had done this. But the king was stubborn and refused to listen to them, just as the Lord had said.

20. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நாளை அதிகாலமே நீ எழுந்து போய், பார்வோன் நதிக்குப் புறப்பட்டு வரும்போது, அவனுக்கு முன்பாக நின்று: எனக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யும்படி என் ஜனங்களைப் போகவிடு.

20. The Lord told Moses, 'Get up early in the morning, and meet the king of Egypt as he goes out to the river. Tell him, 'This is what the Lord says: Let my people go so they can worship me.

21. என் ஜனங்களைப் போகவிடாயாகில், நான் உன்மேலும், உன் ஊழியக்காரர்மேலும், உன் ஜனங்கள்மேலும், உன் வீடுகள்மேலும் பலவித வண்டுகளை அனுப்புவேன்; எகிப்தியர் வீடுகளும் அவர்கள் இருக்கிற தேசமும் அந்த வண்டுகளால் நிறையும்.

21. If you don't let them go, I will send swarms of flies into your houses. The flies will be on you, your officers, and your people. The houses of Egypt will be full of flies, and they will be all over the ground, too.

22. பூமியின் நடுவில் நானே கர்த்தர் என்பதை நீ அறியும்படி என் ஜனங்கள் இருக்கிற கோசேன் நாட்டில் அந்நாளிலே வண்டுகள் வராதபடிக்கு, அந்த நாட்டை விசேஷப்படுத்தி,

22. But I will not treat the Israelites the same as the Egyptian people. There will not be any flies in the land of Goshen, where my people live. By this you will know that I, the Lord, am in this land.

23. என் ஜனங்களுக்கும் உன் ஜனங்களுக்கும் வித்தியாசம் உண்டாகும்படி செய்வேன்; இந்த அடையாளம் நாளைக்கு உண்டாகும் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

23. I will treat my people differently from your people. This miracle will happen tomorrow.''

24. அப்படியே கர்த்தர் செய்தார்; மகா திரளான வண்டுஜாதிகள் பார்வோன் வீட்டிலும், அவன் ஊழியக்காரர் வீடுகளிலும், எகிப்து தேசம் முழுவதிலும் வந்தது; வண்டுகளினாலே தேசம் கெட்டுப்போயிற்று.

24. So the Lord did as he had said, and great swarms of flies came into the king's palace and his officers' houses. All over Egypt flies were ruining the land.

25. அப்பொழுது பார்வோன் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் அழைப்பித்து: நீங்கள் போய், உங்கள் தேவனுக்கு தேசத்திலேதானே பலியிடுங்கள் என்றான்.

25. The king called for Moses and Aaron and told them, 'Offer sacrifices to your God here in this country.'

26. அதற்கு மோசே: அப்படிச் செய்யத்தகாது; எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு நாங்கள் எகிப்தியருடைய அருவருப்பைப் பலியிடுகிறதாயிருக்குமே, எகிப்தியருடைய அருவருப்பை நாங்கள் அவர்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகப் பலியிட்டால், எங்களைக் கல்லெறிவார்கள் அல்லவா?

26. But Moses said, 'It wouldn't be right to do that, because the Egyptians hate the sacrifices we offer to the Lord our God. If they see us offering sacrifices they hate, they will throw stones at us and kill us.

27. நாங்கள் வனாந்தரத்தில் மூன்று நாள் பிரயாணம்போய், எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எங்களுக்கு விதிக்கிறபடியே அவருக்குப் பலியிடுவோம் என்றான்.

27. Let us make a three-day journey into the desert. We must offer sacrifices to the Lord our God there, as the Lord told us to do.'

28. அப்பொழுது பார்வோன்: நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு வனாந்தரத்தில் பலியிடும்படிக்கு, நான் உங்களைப் போகவிடுவேன்; ஆனாலும், நீங்கள் அதிக தூரமாய்ப் போகவேண்டாம்; எனக்காக வேண்டுதல் செய்யுங்கள் என்றான்.

28. The king said, 'I will let you go so that you may offer sacrifices to the Lord your God in the desert, but you must not go very far away. Now go and pray for me.'

29. அதற்கு மோசே: நான் உம்மைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டபின், நாளைக்கு வண்டுகள் பார்வோனையும் அவர் ஊழியக்காரரையும் அவர் ஜனங்களையும் விட்டு நீங்கும்படி, நான் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி வேண்டுதல் செய்வேன்; ஆனாலும், கர்த்தருக்குப் பலியிடுகிறதற்கு ஜனங்களைப் போகவிடாதபடிப் பார்வோன் இனி வஞ்சனை செய்யாதிருப்பாராக என்றான்.

29. Moses said, 'I will leave and pray to the Lord, and he will take the flies away from you, your officers, and your people tomorrow. But do not try to trick us again. Do not stop the people from going to offer sacrifices to the Lord.'

30. மோசே பார்வோனை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், கர்த்தரை நோக்கி வேண்டுதல் செய்தான்.

30. So Moses left the king and prayed to the Lord,

31. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயின் சொற்படி, வண்டுஜாதிகள் பார்வோனையும் அவன் ஊழியக்காரரையும் அவன் ஜனங்களையும் விட்டு நீங்கும்படி செய்தார்; ஒன்றாகிலும் மீந்திருக்கவில்லை.

31. and the Lord did as he asked. He removed the flies from the king, his officers, and his people so that not one fly was left.

32. பார்வோனோ, இந்த முறையும் தன் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தி, ஜனங்களைப் போகவிடாதிருந்தான்.

32. But the king became stubborn again and did not let the people go.
