1. என் ஜனங்களே, என் உபதேசத்தைக் கேளுங்கள்; என் வாயின் வசனங்களுக்கு உங்கள் செவிகளைச் சாயுங்கள்.

1. A Lesson of Asaph. O my people, listen to my law; bow your ears to the words of my mouth.

2. என் வாயை உவமைகளால் திறப்பேன்; பூர்வகாலத்து மறைபொருள்களை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன்.

2. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will pour forth dark sayings of old,

3. அவைகளை நாங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டு அறிந்தோம்; எங்கள் பிதாக்கள் அவைகளை எங்களுக்குத் தெரிவித்தார்கள்.

3. those which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.

4. பின்வரும் சந்ததியான பிள்ளைகளுக்கு நாங்கள் அவைகளை மறைக்காமல், கர்த்தரின் துதிகளையும் அவருடைய பலத்தையும், அவர் செய்த அவருடைய அதியங்களையும் விவரிப்போம்.
எபேசியர் 6:4

4. We will not hide them from their sons; to declare to the coming generation the praises of Jehovah; yea, His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.

5. அவர் யாக்கோபிலே சாட்சியை ஏற்படுத்தி, இஸ்ரவேலிலே வேதத்தை ஸ்தாபித்து, அவைகளைத் தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு அறிவிக்கும்படி நம்முடைய பிதாக்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

5. For He raised a Testimony in Jacob, and He set a Law in Israel; which He commanded our fathers to make them known to their sons;

6. இனிப் பிறக்கும் பிள்ளைகளாகிய பின்சந்ததியார் அதை அறிந்துகொண்டு, அவர்கள் எழும்பித் தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு அவைகளைச் சொல்லும்படிக்கும்;

6. so that a coming generation may know; sons shall be born; they shall rise up and tell their sons,

7. தேவன்மேல் அவர்கள் தங்கள் நம்பிக்கையை வைத்து, தேவனுடைய செயல்களை மறவாமல், அவர் கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கும்;

7. so that they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.

8. இருதயத்தைச் செவ்வைப்படுத்தாமலும், தேவனை உறுதியாய்ப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளாமலும் இருந்த முரட்டாட்டமும் கலகமுமுள்ள சந்ததியாகிய தங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு அவர்கள் ஒப்பாகாதபடிக்கும், இவைகளைக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

8. And they shall not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that prepared not its heart; yea, whose spirit was not faithful with God.

9. ஆயுதமணிந்த வில்வீரரான எப்பிராயீம் புத்திரர் யுத்தநாளிலே முதுகு காட்டினார்கள்.

9. The sons of Ephraim, armed shooters of bows, turned back in the day of battle.

10. அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய உடன்படிக்கையைக் கைக்கொள்ளாமலும், அவருடைய கட்டளைகளின்படி நடக்கச் சம்மதியாமலும்,

10. They did not keep the covenant of God and refused to walk in His Law.

11. அவருடைய செயல்களையும், அவர் தங்களுக்குக் காண்பித்த அதிசயங்களையும் மறந்தார்கள்.

11. And they forgot His works and His wonders which He had shown them;

12. அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு முன்பாக, எகிப்து தேசத்துச் சோவான் வெளியிலே, அவர் அதிசயமானவைகளைச் செய்தார்.

12. He did wonders before their fathers in the land of Egypt, the field of Zoan.

13. கடலைப் பிளந்து, அவர்களைக் கடக்கப்பண்ணி, ஜலத்தைக் குவியலாக நிற்கும்படிச்செய்தார்.

13. He divided the sea and passed them through; and He caused the waters to stand in a heap.

14. பகலிலே மேகத்தினாலும், இராமுழுவதும் அக்கினி வெளிச்சத்தினாலும் அவர்களை வழிநடத்தினார்.

14. And He led them by a cloud in the day, and all the night with a light of fire.

15. வனாந்தரத்திலே கன்மலைகளைப் பிளந்து, மகா ஆழங்களிலிருந்து தண்ணீரை அவர்களுக்குக் குடிக்கக் கொடுத்தார்.

15. He split the rocks in the wilderness and made them drink, as from great floods.

16. கன்மலையிலிருந்து நீரோட்டங்களைப் புறப்படப்பண்ணி, தண்ணீரை நதிபோல ஓடிவரும்படி செய்தார்.

16. And He brought streams out of the rock, and caused waters to go down like rivers.

17. என்றாலும், அவர்கள் பின்னும் அவருக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்து, வறண்ட வெளியிலே உன்னதமானவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டினார்கள்.

17. Yet they sinned still more against Him, to provoke the Most High in the desert.

18. தங்கள் இச்சைக்கேற்ற போஜனத்தைக்கேட்டு, தங்கள் இருதயத்தில் தேவனைப் பரீட்சைபார்த்தார்கள்.

18. And they tested God in their heart, by asking food for their souls.

19. அவர்கள் தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பேசி: தேவன் வனாந்தரத்திலே போஜனபந்தியை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தக்கூடுமோ?

19. And they spoke against God, saying, Shall God be able to set a table in the wilderness?

20. இதோ அவர் கன்மலையை அடித்ததினால் தண்ணீர் புறப்பட்டு, நதிகளாய்ப் புரண்டுவந்தது; அவர் அப்பத்தையும் கொடுக்கக்கூடுமோ? தம்முடைய ஜனத்திற்கு மாம்சத்தையும் ஆயத்தப்படுத்துவாரோ? என்றார்கள்.

20. Behold! He struck the rock and the waters gushed out, and the torrents were overflowing. Can He also give bread? Will He provide flesh for His people?

21. ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் அதைக் கேட்டுக் கோபங்கொண்டார்; அவர்கள் தேவனை விசுவாசியாமலும், அவருடைய இரட்சிப்பை நம்பாமலும் போனதினால்,

21. So Jehovah heard and He passed over, and a fire was kindled against Jacob, and also anger went up against Israel,

22. யாக்கோபுக்கு விரோதமாய் அக்கினி பற்றியெரிந்தது; இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கோபம் மூண்டது.

22. because they did not believe in God and trusted not in His salvation.

23. அவர் உயரத்திலுள்ள மேகங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டு, வானத்தின் கதவுகளைத் திறந்து,

23. And He commanded the fine clouds above; and He opened the doors of the heavens;

24. மன்னாவை அவர்களுக்கு ஆகாரமாக வருஷிக்கப்பண்ணி, வானத்தின் தானியத்தை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்.

24. and He rained on them manna to eat; yea, He gave the grain of the heavens to them.

25. தூதர்களின் அப்பத்தை மனுஷன் சாப்பிட்டான்; அவர்களுக்கு ஆகாரத்தைப் பூரணமாய் அனுப்பினார்.

25. Man ate the bread of the mighty; He sent them food to the full.

26. ஆகாசத்திலே கீழ்காற்றை வரப்பண்ணி, தம்முடைய வல்லமையினால் தென்றலையும் வீசச்செய்து,

26. He made an east wind blow in the heavens; and He led out the south wind by His power.

27. மாம்சத்தைத் தூளத்தனையாயும், சிறகுள்ள பறவைகளைக் கடற்கரை மணலத்தனையாயும் வருஷிக்கப்பண்ணி,

27. Yea, He rained flesh on them like dust, and winged birds as the sand of the seas.

28. அவைகளை அவர்கள் பாளயத்தின் நடுவிலும், அவர்கள் கூடாரங்களைச் சுற்றிலும் இறங்கப்பண்ணினார்.

28. And He made them fall amidst their camp, all around to their tents.

29. அவர்கள் புசித்துத் திருப்தியடைந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் இச்சித்ததை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்.

29. They ate and were filled full; for their own lust He brought to them.

30. அவர்கள் தங்கள் இச்சையை வெறுக்கவில்லை; அவர்களுடைய போஜனம் அவர்கள் வாயில் இருக்கும்போதே.

30. They were not estranged from their lust; their food was still in their mouths,

31. தேவகோபம் அவர்கள்மேல் எழும்பி, அவர்களில் கொழுத்தவர்களைச் சங்கரித்து, இஸ்ரவேலில் விசேஷித்தவர்களை மடியப்பண்ணிற்று.

31. and God's wrath came on them and killed the fattest of them; and He struck down the choice ones of Israel.

32. இவையெல்லாம் நடந்தும், அவர் செய்த அதிசயங்களை அவர்கள் நம்பாமல், பின்னும் பாவஞ்செய்தார்கள்.

32. In all this they sinned still; and they did not believe in His wonderful works;

33. ஆதலால் அவர்கள் நாட்களை விருதாவிலும், அவர்கள் வருஷங்களைப் பயங்கரத்திலும் கழியப்பண்ணினார்.

33. and He ended their days in vanity, and their years in sudden terror.

34. அவர்களை அவர் கொல்லும்போது அவரைக்குறித்து விசாரித்து, அவர்கள் திரும்பிவந்து தேவனை அதிகாலமே தேடி;

34. When He killed them, then they sought Him; and they turned and searched for God.

35. தேவன் தங்கள் கன்மலையென்றும், உன்னதமான தேவன் தங்கள் மீட்பர் என்றும், நினைவுகூர்ந்தார்கள்.

35. So they remembered that God was their Rock, and the Most High God their Redeemer.

36. ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் தங்கள் வாயினால் அவருக்கு இச்சகம்பேசி, தங்கள் நாவினால் அவரிடத்தில் பொய்சொன்னார்கள்.

36. But they flattered Him with their mouths, and with their tongues lied to Him.

37. அவர்கள் இருதயம் அவரிடத்தில் நிலைவரப்படவில்லை; அவருடைய உடன்படிக்கையில் அவர்கள் உண்மையாயிருக்கவில்லை.

37. For their heart was not steadfast with Him; and they were not faithful in His covenant.

38. அவரோ அவர்களை அழிக்காமல், இரக்கமுள்ளவராய் அவர்கள் அக்கிரமத்தை மன்னித்தார்; அவர் தமது உக்கிரம் முழுவதையும் எழுப்பாமல், அநேகந்தரம் தமது கோபத்தை விலக்கிவிட்டார்.

38. But He being merciful, atoned for iniquity and did not destroy; and He added to turn away His anger, and did not stir up all his wrath.

39. அவர்கள் மாம்சமென்றும், திரும்பிவராமல் அகலுகிற காற்றென்றும் நினைவுகூர்ந்தார்.

39. For He remembered that they were flesh, a breath passing away, and not returning.

40. எத்தனைதரமோ வனாந்தரத்திலே அவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டி, அவாந்தர வெளியிலே அவரை விசனப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

40. How often they disobeyed Him in the wilderness, angering Him in the desert!

41. அவர்கள் திரும்பி தேவனைப் பரீட்சை பார்த்து, இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தரை மட்டுப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

41. Yea, they turned back and tested God, and pained the Holy One of Israel.

42. அவருடைய கரத்தையும், அவர் தங்களைச் சத்துருவுக்கு விலக்கி மீட்ட நாளையும் நினையாமற் போனார்கள்.

42. They did not remember His hand, on the day He redeemed them from the enemy;

43. அவர் எகிப்திலே தம்முடைய அடையாளங்களையும், சோவான் வெளியிலே தம்முடைய அற்புதங்களையும் செய்தார்.

43. who set His signs in Egypt, and His wonders in the field of Zoan.

44. அவர்களுடைய நதிகளை இரத்தமாக மாற்றி, அவர்களுடைய ஆறுகளிலுள்ள ஜலத்தைக் குடிக்கக்கூடாதபடி செய்தார்.
வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 16:4

44. He turned their rivers into blood, also their streams that they might not drink.

45. அவர்களை அழிக்கும்படி வண்டு ஜாதிகளையும், அவர்களைக் கெடுக்கும்படி தவளைகளையும் அவர்களுக்குள்ளே அனுப்பினார்.

45. He sent swarms of flies against them, and they devoured them; also frogs, and they destroyed them.

46. அவர்களுடைய விளைச்சலைப் புழுக்களுக்கும், அவர்களுடைய பிரயாசத்தின் பலனை வெட்டுக்கிளிகளுக்கும் கொடுத்தார்.

46. He also gave their crops to the stripping locust, and their labor to the locust.

47. கல்மழையினால் அவர்களுடைய திராட்சச்செடிகளையும், ஆலாங்கட்டியினால் அவர்களுடைய அத்திமரங்களையும் அழித்து,

47. He killed their vines with hail, and their sycamore trees with sleet.

48. அவர்களுடைய மிருகஜீவன்களைக் கல்மழைக்கும், அவர்களுடைய ஆடுமாடுகளை இடிகளுக்கும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

48. He gave their cattle up to the hail, and their flocks to bolts of fire.

49. தமது உக்கிரமான கோபத்தையும், மூர்க்கத்தையும், சினத்தையும், உபத்திரவத்தையும், தீங்குசெய்யும் தூதர்களையும் அவர்களுக்குள்ளே அனுப்பினார்.

49. He sent the heat of His anger on them, fury and indignation and distress, a sending of angels of evils.

50. அவர் தம்முடைய கோபத்துக்கு வழிதிறந்து, அவர்கள் ஆத்துமாவை மரணத்துக்கு விலக்கிக் காவாமல், அவர்கள் ஜீவனைக் கொள்ளைநோய்க்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

50. He leveled a path for His anger; He did not keep back their soul from death, but gave their life over to the plague.

51. எகிப்திலே தலைச்சன்கள் அனைத்தையும், காமின் கூடாரங்களிலே அவர்களுடைய பெலனில் முதற்பலனான யாவரையும் அழித்து;

51. And he struck all the first-born in Egypt, the firstfruits of strength in the tents of Ham;

52. தம்முடைய ஜனங்களை ஆடுகளைப்போல் புறப்படப்பண்ணி, அவர்களை வனாந்தரத்திலே மந்தையைப்போல் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய்;

52. and He led His people forth like sheep; and He led them like a flock in the wilderness.

53. அவர்கள் பயப்படாதபடிக்கு அவர்களைப் பத்திரமாய் வழிநடத்தினார்; அவர்கள் சத்துருக்களைக் கடல் மூடிப்போட்டது.

53. And he led them on safely, and they did not fear; but the sea flooded over their enemies.

54. அவர்களைத் தமது பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தின் எல்லைவரைக்கும், தமது வலதுகரம் சம்பாதித்த இந்தப் பர்வதமட்டுக்கும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து,

54. He brought them to the border of His holy place; this mountain that His right hand had gained.

55. அவர்கள் முகத்திற்கு முன்பாக ஜாதிகளைத் துரத்திவிட்டு, தேசத்தை நூல்போட்டுப் பங்கிட்டு, அவர்களுடைய கூடாரங்களில் இஸ்ரவேலின் கோத்திரங்களைக் குடியேற்றினார்.

55. And He cast out the nations before them; and by a line He made a possession fall to them; and He made the tribes of Israel to live in their tents.

56. ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் உன்னதமான தேவனைப் பரீட்சை பார்த்து, அவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டி, அவருடைய சாட்சிகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளாமற்போய்,

56. Yet they tested and provoked the Most High God; and they did not keep His testimonies;

57. தங்கள் பிதாக்களைப்போல வழிவிலகி, துரோகம்பண்ணி, மோசம்போக்கும் வில்லைப்போல் துவண்டு,

57. but they turned back and betrayed, like their fathers; they veered aside like a deceitful bow.

58. தங்கள் மேடைகளினால் அவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டி, தங்கள் விக்கிரகங்களினால் எரிச்சல் உண்டாக்கினார்கள்.

58. For they enraged Him with their high places; and they provoked Him to jealousy with their molten images.

59. தேவன் அதைக் கேட்டு உக்கிரமாகி, இஸ்ரவேலை மிகவும் வெறுத்து,

59. When God heard, and He passed over, and He utterly rejected Israel.

60. தாம் மனுஷருக்குள்ளே போட்ட கூடாரமாகிய சீலோவிலுள்ள வாசஸ்தலத்தை விட்டுவிலகி,

60. And He left the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent He dwelt in among men;

61. தமது பலத்தைச் சிறையிருப்புக்கும், தமது மகிமையைச் சத்துருவின் கைக்கும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து,

61. and delivered His strength into captivity, and His glory into the enemy's hands.

62. தமது ஜனத்தைப் பட்டயத்துக்கு இரையாக்கி, தமது சுதந்தரத்தின்மேல் கோபங்கொண்டார்.

62. And He gave His people to the sword, and was angry with His inheritance.

63. அவர்கள் வாலிபரை அக்கினி பட்சித்தது, அவர்கள் கன்னியாஸ்திரீகள் வாழ்க்கைப்படாதிருந்தார்கள்.

63. The fire burned up their young men; and their virgins were not praised.

64. அவர்களுடைய ஆசாரியர்கள் பட்டயத்தால் விழுந்தார்கள், அவர்களுடைய விதவைகள் அழவில்லை.

64. Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows were not able to weep.

65. அப்பொழுது ஆண்டவர் நித்திரை தெளிந்தவனைப்போலவும், திராட்சரசத்தால் கெம்பீரிக்கிற பராக்கிரமசாலியைப்போலவும் விழித்து,

65. Then the Lord awoke, as one asleep, like a mighty man rejoicing with wine.

66. தம்முடைய சத்துருக்களைப் பின்புறமாக அடித்து, அவர்களுக்கு நித்திய நிந்தையை வரப்பண்ணினார்.

66. And He drove His enemies backward; He put them to a never-ending shame.

67. அவர் யோசேப்பின் கூடாரத்தைப் புறக்கணித்தார்; எப்பிராயீம் கோத்திரத்தை அவர் தெரிந்துகொள்ளாமல்,

67. And He refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and He did not choose the tribe of Ephraim;

68. யூதா கோத்திரத்தையும் தமக்குப் பிரியமான சீயோன் பர்வதத்தையும் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.

68. but He elected the tribe of Judah, the Mount Zion which He loved.

69. தம்முடைய பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தை மலைகளைப்போலவும், என்றைக்கும் நிற்கும்படி தாம் அஸ்திபாரப்படுத்தின பூமியைப்போலவும் கட்டினார்.

69. And He built His sanctuary like high places, like the earth He has founded forever.

70. தம்முடைய தாசனாகிய தாவீதைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, ஆட்டுத்தொழுவங்களிலிருந்து அவனை எடுத்தார்.

70. He also chose His servant David, and took him from the folds of the flock;

71. கறவலாடுகளின் பின்னாகத் திரிந்த அவனை, தம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய யாக்கோபையும் தம்முடைய சுதந்தரமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலையும் மேய்ப்பதற்காக, அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்தார்.

71. He brought him in from the suckling ewes; He brought him to feed His people Jacob, and His inheritance, Israel.

72. இவன் அவர்களைத் தன் இருதயத்தின் உண்மையின்படியே மேய்த்து, தன் கைகளின் திறமையினால் அவர்களை நடத்தினான்.

72. And he fed them in the integrity of his heart; and guided them in the skillfulness of his hands.
