1. என் ஜனங்களே, என் உபதேசத்தைக் கேளுங்கள்; என் வாயின் வசனங்களுக்கு உங்கள் செவிகளைச் சாயுங்கள்.

1. Heare my lawe (o my people) encline yor eares vnto ye wordes of my mouth.

2. என் வாயை உவமைகளால் திறப்பேன்; பூர்வகாலத்து மறைபொருள்களை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன்.

2. I wil open my mouth in parables, and speake of thinges of olde.

3. அவைகளை நாங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டு அறிந்தோம்; எங்கள் பிதாக்கள் அவைகளை எங்களுக்குத் தெரிவித்தார்கள்.

3. Which we haue herde and knowne, and soch as oure fathers haue tolde vs.

4. பின்வரும் சந்ததியான பிள்ளைகளுக்கு நாங்கள் அவைகளை மறைக்காமல், கர்த்தரின் துதிகளையும் அவருடைய பலத்தையும், அவர் செய்த அவருடைய அதியங்களையும் விவரிப்போம்.

4. That we shulde not hyde them from the children of the generacions to come: but to shewe the honoure of the LORDE, his might and wonderfull workes that he hath done.

5. அவர் யாக்கோபிலே சாட்சியை ஏற்படுத்தி, இஸ்ரவேலிலே வேதத்தை ஸ்தாபித்து, அவைகளைத் தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு அறிவிக்கும்படி நம்முடைய பிதாக்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

5. He made a couenaunt with Iacob, and gaue Israel a lawe, which he comaunded oure forefathers to teach their children.

6. இனிப் பிறக்கும் பிள்ளைகளாகிய பின்சந்ததியார் அதை அறிந்துகொண்டு, அவர்கள் எழும்பித் தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு அவைகளைச் சொல்லும்படிக்கும்;

6. That their posterite might knowe it, and the children which were yet vnborne.

7. தேவன்மேல் அவர்கள் தங்கள் நம்பிக்கையை வைத்து, தேவனுடைய செயல்களை மறவாமல், அவர் கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கும்;

7. To the intent yt when they came vp, they might shewe their children the same.

8. இருதயத்தைச் செவ்வைப்படுத்தாமலும், தேவனை உறுதியாய்ப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளாமலும் இருந்த முரட்டாட்டமும் கலகமுமுள்ள சந்ததியாகிய தங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு அவர்கள் ஒப்பாகாதபடிக்கும், இவைகளைக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

8. That they also might put their trust in God, & not to forget what he had done, but to kepe his comaundementes.

9. ஆயுதமணிந்த வில்வீரரான எப்பிராயீம் புத்திரர் யுத்தநாளிலே முதுகு காட்டினார்கள்.

9. And not to be as their forefathers, a frowarde and ouerthwarte generacion, a generacion that set not their herte a right, and whose sprete was not true towarde God.

10. அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய உடன்படிக்கையைக் கைக்கொள்ளாமலும், அவருடைய கட்டளைகளின்படி நடக்கச் சம்மதியாமலும்,

10. Like as the children of Ephraim, which beynge harnessed and carienge bowes, turned them selues backe in the tyme of battayll.

11. அவருடைய செயல்களையும், அவர் தங்களுக்குக் காண்பித்த அதிசயங்களையும் மறந்தார்கள்.

11. They kepte not the couenaut of God, & wolde not walke in his lawe.

12. அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு முன்பாக, எகிப்து தேசத்துச் சோவான் வெளியிலே, அவர் அதிசயமானவைகளைச் செய்தார்.

12. They forgat what he had done, and the wonderfull workes that he had shewed for them.

13. கடலைப் பிளந்து, அவர்களைக் கடக்கப்பண்ணி, ஜலத்தைக் குவியலாக நிற்கும்படிச்செய்தார்.

13. Maruelous thinges dyd he in the sight of their fathers in the londe of Egipte, euen in the felde of Zoan.

14. பகலிலே மேகத்தினாலும், இராமுழுவதும் அக்கினி வெளிச்சத்தினாலும் அவர்களை வழிநடத்தினார்.

14. He deuyded the see and let them go thorow it, and made the waters to stonde like a wall.

15. வனாந்தரத்திலே கன்மலைகளைப் பிளந்து, மகா ஆழங்களிலிருந்து தண்ணீரை அவர்களுக்குக் குடிக்கக் கொடுத்தார்.

15. In the daye tyme he led them with a cloude, and all the night thorow with a light of fyre.

16. கன்மலையிலிருந்து நீரோட்டங்களைப் புறப்படப்பண்ணி, தண்ணீரை நதிபோல ஓடிவரும்படி செய்தார்.

16. He cloaue the hard rockes in the wildernesse, and gaue them drynke therof, as it had bene out of the greate deapth.

17. என்றாலும், அவர்கள் பின்னும் அவருக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்து, வறண்ட வெளியிலே உன்னதமானவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டினார்கள்.

17. He brought waters out of the stony rocke, so that they gusshed out like the ryuers.

18. தங்கள் இச்சைக்கேற்ற போஜனத்தைக்கேட்டு, தங்கள் இருதயத்தில் தேவனைப் பரீட்சைபார்த்தார்கள்.

18. Yet for all this they synned agaynst him, and prouoked the most hyest in the wildernesse.

19. அவர்கள் தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பேசி: தேவன் வனாந்தரத்திலே போஜனபந்தியை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தக்கூடுமோ?

19. They tempted God in their hertes, and requyred meate for their lust,

20. இதோ அவர் கன்மலையை அடித்ததினால் தண்ணீர் புறப்பட்டு, நதிகளாய்ப் புரண்டுவந்தது; அவர் அப்பத்தையும் கொடுக்கக்கூடுமோ? தம்முடைய ஜனத்திற்கு மாம்சத்தையும் ஆயத்தப்படுத்துவாரோ? என்றார்கள்.

20. For they spake agaynst God and sayde: Yee yee, God shal prepare a table in the wyldernesse, shall he?

21. ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் அதைக் கேட்டுக் கோபங்கொண்டார்; அவர்கள் தேவனை விசுவாசியாமலும், அவருடைய இரட்சிப்பை நம்பாமலும் போனதினால்,

21. Lo, he smote the stony rocke, that the watery streames gusshed out, and the streames flowed withall: but how can he geue bred and prouyde flesh for his people?

22. யாக்கோபுக்கு விரோதமாய் அக்கினி பற்றியெரிந்தது; இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கோபம் மூண்டது.

22. When the LORDE herde this, he was wroth: so the fyre was kyndled in Iacob, and heuy displeasure agaynst Israel.

23. அவர் உயரத்திலுள்ள மேகங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டு, வானத்தின் கதவுகளைத் திறந்து,

23. Because they beleued not in God, and put not their trust in his helpe.

24. மன்னாவை அவர்களுக்கு ஆகாரமாக வருஷிக்கப்பண்ணி, வானத்தின் தானியத்தை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்.

24. So he commauded the cloudes aboue, and opened the dores of heauen.

25. தூதர்களின் அப்பத்தை மனுஷன் சாப்பிட்டான்; அவர்களுக்கு ஆகாரத்தைப் பூரணமாய் அனுப்பினார்.

25. He rayned downe Manna vpo them for to eate, and gaue them bred from heauen.

26. ஆகாசத்திலே கீழ்காற்றை வரப்பண்ணி, தம்முடைய வல்லமையினால் தென்றலையும் வீசச்செய்து,

26. Then ate they angels fode, for he sent them meate ynough.

27. மாம்சத்தைத் தூளத்தனையாயும், சிறகுள்ள பறவைகளைக் கடற்கரை மணலத்தனையாயும் வருஷிக்கப்பண்ணி,

27. He caused the east wynde to blowe vnder the heauen, and thorow his power he brought in the south wynde.

28. அவைகளை அவர்கள் பாளயத்தின் நடுவிலும், அவர்கள் கூடாரங்களைச் சுற்றிலும் இறங்கப்பண்ணினார்.

28. He made flesh to rayne vpon them as thicke as dust, and fethered foules like the sonde of ye see.

29. அவர்கள் புசித்துத் திருப்தியடைந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் இச்சித்ததை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்.

29. He let it fall amoge their tetes roude aboute their habitacios.

30. அவர்கள் தங்கள் இச்சையை வெறுக்கவில்லை; அவர்களுடைய போஜனம் அவர்கள் வாயில் இருக்கும்போதே.

30. So they ate & were fylled, for he gaue them their owne desyre. They were not dispoynted of their lust.

31. தேவகோபம் அவர்கள்மேல் எழும்பி, அவர்களில் கொழுத்தவர்களைச் சங்கரித்து, இஸ்ரவேலில் விசேஷித்தவர்களை மடியப்பண்ணிற்று.

31. But whyle ye meate was yet in theyr mouthes: The heuy wrath of God came vpo the, slewe ye welthiest of the, & smote downe ye chosen men of Israel.

32. இவையெல்லாம் நடந்தும், அவர் செய்த அதிசயங்களை அவர்கள் நம்பாமல், பின்னும் பாவஞ்செய்தார்கள்.

32. But for all this they synned yet more, and beleued not his woderous workes.

33. ஆதலால் அவர்கள் நாட்களை விருதாவிலும், அவர்கள் வருஷங்களைப் பயங்கரத்திலும் கழியப்பண்ணினார்.

33. Therfore their dayes were consumed in vanite, and sodenly their yeares were gone.

34. அவர்களை அவர் கொல்லும்போது அவரைக்குறித்து விசாரித்து, அவர்கள் திரும்பிவந்து தேவனை அதிகாலமே தேடி;

34. When he slewe them, they sought him, and turned them early vnto God.

35. தேவன் தங்கள் கன்மலையென்றும், உன்னதமான தேவன் தங்கள் மீட்பர் என்றும், நினைவுகூர்ந்தார்கள்.

35. They thought then that God was their socoure, and that the hye God was their redemer.

36. ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் தங்கள் வாயினால் அவருக்கு இச்சகம்பேசி, தங்கள் நாவினால் அவரிடத்தில் பொய்சொன்னார்கள்.

36. Neuerthelesse, they dyd but flater him in their mouthes, and dissembled with him in their tonges.

37. அவர்கள் இருதயம் அவரிடத்தில் நிலைவரப்படவில்லை; அவருடைய உடன்படிக்கையில் அவர்கள் உண்மையாயிருக்கவில்லை.

37. For their herte was not whole with him, nether continued they in his couenaunt.

38. அவரோ அவர்களை அழிக்காமல், இரக்கமுள்ளவராய் அவர்கள் அக்கிரமத்தை மன்னித்தார்; அவர் தமது உக்கிரம் முழுவதையும் எழுப்பாமல், அநேகந்தரம் தமது கோபத்தை விலக்கிவிட்டார்.

38. But he was so mercifull, that he forgaue their mysdedes, and destroyed them not:

39. அவர்கள் மாம்சமென்றும், திரும்பிவராமல் அகலுகிற காற்றென்றும் நினைவுகூர்ந்தார்.

39. Yee many a tyme turned he his wrath awaye, and wolde not suffre his whole displeasure to aryse.

40. எத்தனைதரமோ வனாந்தரத்திலே அவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டி, அவாந்தர வெளியிலே அவரை விசனப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

40. For he considered yt they were but flesh: euen a wynde that passeth awaye, and commeth not agayne.

41. அவர்கள் திரும்பி தேவனைப் பரீட்சை பார்த்து, இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தரை மட்டுப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

41. O how oft haue they greued him in the wildernesse? How many a tyme haue they prouoked him in the deserte?

42. அவருடைய கரத்தையும், அவர் தங்களைச் சத்துருவுக்கு விலக்கி மீட்ட நாளையும் நினையாமற் போனார்கள்.

42. They turned backe & tempted God, and moued the holy one in Israel.

43. அவர் எகிப்திலே தம்முடைய அடையாளங்களையும், சோவான் வெளியிலே தம்முடைய அற்புதங்களையும் செய்தார்.

43. They thought not of his hade, in ye daye when he delyuered them from the hande of ye enemie.

44. அவர்களுடைய நதிகளை இரத்தமாக மாற்றி, அவர்களுடைய ஆறுகளிலுள்ள ஜலத்தைக் குடிக்கக்கூடாதபடி செய்தார்.

44. How he had wrought his miracles in Egipte, and his woders in the londe of Zoan.

45. அவர்களை அழிக்கும்படி வண்டு ஜாதிகளையும், அவர்களைக் கெடுக்கும்படி தவளைகளையும் அவர்களுக்குள்ளே அனுப்பினார்.

45. How he turned their waters in to bloude, so that they might not drynke of the ryuers.

46. அவர்களுடைய விளைச்சலைப் புழுக்களுக்கும், அவர்களுடைய பிரயாசத்தின் பலனை வெட்டுக்கிளிகளுக்கும் கொடுத்தார்.

46. How he sent lyse amonge them, to eate them vp, and frogges to destroye them.

47. கல்மழையினால் அவர்களுடைய திராட்சச்செடிகளையும், ஆலாங்கட்டியினால் அவர்களுடைய அத்திமரங்களையும் அழித்து,

47. How he gaue their frutes vnto the catirpiller, and their laboure vnto the greshopper.

48. அவர்களுடைய மிருகஜீவன்களைக் கல்மழைக்கும், அவர்களுடைய ஆடுமாடுகளை இடிகளுக்கும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

48. How he bett downe their vynyardes with hayle stones, and their Molbery trees with the frost.

49. தமது உக்கிரமான கோபத்தையும், மூர்க்கத்தையும், சினத்தையும், உபத்திரவத்தையும், தீங்குசெய்யும் தூதர்களையும் அவர்களுக்குள்ளே அனுப்பினார்.

49. How he smote their catell with haylestones, and their flockes with hote thoder boltes.

50. அவர் தம்முடைய கோபத்துக்கு வழிதிறந்து, அவர்கள் ஆத்துமாவை மரணத்துக்கு விலக்கிக் காவாமல், அவர்கள் ஜீவனைக் கொள்ளைநோய்க்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

50. How he sent vpon them ye furiousnesse of his wrath, anger & displeasure: with trouble and fallinge in of euel angels.

51. எகிப்திலே தலைச்சன்கள் அனைத்தையும், காமின் கூடாரங்களிலே அவர்களுடைய பெலனில் முதற்பலனான யாவரையும் அழித்து;

51. When he made a waye to his fearfull indignacio, and spared not their soules from death, yee and gaue their catell ouer to the pestilence.

52. தம்முடைய ஜனங்களை ஆடுகளைப்போல் புறப்படப்பண்ணி, அவர்களை வனாந்தரத்திலே மந்தையைப்போல் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய்;

52. When he smote all the firstborne in Egipte, the most principall and mightiest in ye dwellinges of Ham.

53. அவர்கள் பயப்படாதபடிக்கு அவர்களைப் பத்திரமாய் வழிநடத்தினார்; அவர்கள் சத்துருக்களைக் கடல் மூடிப்போட்டது.

53. But as for his owne people, he led them forth like shepe, and caried them in the wyldernesse like a flocke.

54. அவர்களைத் தமது பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தின் எல்லைவரைக்கும், தமது வலதுகரம் சம்பாதித்த இந்தப் பர்வதமட்டுக்கும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து,

54. He brought them out safely, that they shulde not feare, and ouerwhelmed their enemies with the see.

55. அவர்கள் முகத்திற்கு முன்பாக ஜாதிகளைத் துரத்திவிட்டு, தேசத்தை நூல்போட்டுப் பங்கிட்டு, அவர்களுடைய கூடாரங்களில் இஸ்ரவேலின் கோத்திரங்களைக் குடியேற்றினார்.

55. He caried them vnto the borders of his Sanctuary: euen in to this hill, which he purchased with his right hande.

56. ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் உன்னதமான தேவனைப் பரீட்சை பார்த்து, அவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டி, அவருடைய சாட்சிகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளாமற்போய்,

56. He dyd cast out the Heithen before them, caused their londe to be deuyded amonge them for an heretage, and made ye tribes of Israel to dwell in their tetes.

57. தங்கள் பிதாக்களைப்போல வழிவிலகி, துரோகம்பண்ணி, மோசம்போக்கும் வில்லைப்போல் துவண்டு,

57. For all this they tempted and displeased the most hye God, and kepte not his couenaunt.

58. தங்கள் மேடைகளினால் அவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டி, தங்கள் விக்கிரகங்களினால் எரிச்சல் உண்டாக்கினார்கள்.

58. But turned their backes and fell awaye like their forefathers, startinge asyde like a broken bowe.

59. தேவன் அதைக் கேட்டு உக்கிரமாகி, இஸ்ரவேலை மிகவும் வெறுத்து,

59. And so they greued him with their hie places, & prouoked him with their ymages.

60. தாம் மனுஷருக்குள்ளே போட்ட கூடாரமாகிய சீலோவிலுள்ள வாசஸ்தலத்தை விட்டுவிலகி,

60. When God herde this, he was wroth, and toke sore displeasure at Israel.

61. தமது பலத்தைச் சிறையிருப்புக்கும், தமது மகிமையைச் சத்துருவின் கைக்கும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து,

61. So that he forsoke the tabernacle in Silo, euen his habitacion wherin he dwelt amonge men.

62. தமது ஜனத்தைப் பட்டயத்துக்கு இரையாக்கி, தமது சுதந்தரத்தின்மேல் கோபங்கொண்டார்.

62. He delyuered their power in to captiuyte, and their glory in to the enemies hode.

63. அவர்கள் வாலிபரை அக்கினி பட்சித்தது, அவர்கள் கன்னியாஸ்திரீகள் வாழ்க்கைப்படாதிருந்தார்கள்.

63. He gaue his people ouer in to the swerde, for he was wroth with his heretage.

64. அவர்களுடைய ஆசாரியர்கள் பட்டயத்தால் விழுந்தார்கள், அவர்களுடைய விதவைகள் அழவில்லை.

64. The fyre consumed their yonge men, and their maydes were not geuen to mariage.

65. அப்பொழுது ஆண்டவர் நித்திரை தெளிந்தவனைப்போலவும், திராட்சரசத்தால் கெம்பீரிக்கிற பராக்கிரமசாலியைப்போலவும் விழித்து,

65. Their prestes were slayne with the swerde, and there were no wyddowes to make lamentacion.

66. தம்முடைய சத்துருக்களைப் பின்புறமாக அடித்து, அவர்களுக்கு நித்திய நிந்தையை வரப்பண்ணினார்.

66. So the LORDE awaked as one out of slepe, and like a giaunte refreshed with wyne.

67. அவர் யோசேப்பின் கூடாரத்தைப் புறக்கணித்தார்; எப்பிராயீம் கோத்திரத்தை அவர் தெரிந்துகொள்ளாமல்,

67. He smote his enemies in ye hynder partes, and put them to a perpetuall shame.

68. யூதா கோத்திரத்தையும் தமக்குப் பிரியமான சீயோன் பர்வதத்தையும் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.

68. He refused the tabernacle of Ioseph, and chose not the trybe of Ephraim.

69. தம்முடைய பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தை மலைகளைப்போலவும், என்றைக்கும் நிற்கும்படி தாம் அஸ்திபாரப்படுத்தின பூமியைப்போலவும் கட்டினார்.

69. Neuerthelesse, he chose ye trybe of Iuda, eue the hill of Sion which he loued.

70. தம்முடைய தாசனாகிய தாவீதைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, ஆட்டுத்தொழுவங்களிலிருந்து அவனை எடுத்தார்.

70. And there he buylded his temple on hye, and layed ye foundacion of it like ye grounde, that it might perpetually endure.

71. கறவலாடுகளின் பின்னாகத் திரிந்த அவனை, தம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய யாக்கோபையும் தம்முடைய சுதந்தரமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலையும் மேய்ப்பதற்காக, அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்தார்.

71. He chose Dauid also his seruaut, and toke him awaye from the shepe foldes.

72. இவன் அவர்களைத் தன் இருதயத்தின் உண்மையின்படியே மேய்த்து, தன் கைகளின் திறமையினால் அவர்களை நடத்தினான்.

72. As he was folowinge the yowes greate with yonge, he toke him, that he might fede Iacob his people, and Israel his enheritaunce. So he fed them with a faithfull and true hert, and ruled them with all ye diligence of his power.
