1. பின்னும் எலிகூ:

1. And Elihu added and said:

2. நான் பேசிமுடியுமட்டும் சற்றேபொறும்; இன்னும் தேவன் பட்சத்தில் நான் சொல்லவேண்டிய நியாயங்களை உமக்குச் சொல்லிக்காண்பிப்பேன்.

2. Restrain thyself for me a little, and I will shew thee, that, yet for GOD, there is justification,

3. நான் தூரத்திலிருந்து என் ஞானத்தைக் கொண்டுவந்து, என்னை உண்டாக்கினவருடைய நீதியை விளங்கப்பண்ணுவேன்.

3. I will bring my knowledge from afar, and, to my Maker, will I attribute righteousness.

4. மெய்யாகவே என் வார்த்தைகள் பொய்யற்றிருக்கும்; உம்மோடே பேசுகிறவன் அறிவில் தேறினவன்.

4. For, of a truth not false, are my words, One of competent knowledge, is with thee.

5. இதோ, தேவன் மகத்துவமுள்ளவர், அவர் ஒருவரையும் புறக்கணியார்; மன உருக்கத்திலும் அவர் மகத்துவமுள்ளவர்.

5. Lo! GOD, is mighty, yet will he not despise, Mighty in vigour of mind;

6. அவர் துன்மார்க்கரைப் பிழைக்க ஒட்டாதிருக்கிறார்; சிறுமையானவர்களின் நியாயத்தை விசாரிக்கிறார்.

6. He will not keep alive one who is lawless, but, the right of oppressed ones, will he grant;

7. அவர் தம்முடைய கண்களை நீதிமான்களைவிட்டு விலக்காமல், அவர்களை ராஜாக்களோடே கூட சிங்காசனத்தில் ஏறவும், உயர்ந்த ஸ்தலத்தில் என்றைக்கும் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கவும் செய்கிறார்.

7. He will not withdraw from a righteous one his eyes, but, with kings on the throne, He hath seated men triumphantly, and they have been exalted.

8. அவர்கள் விலங்குகள் போடப்பட்டு, உபத்திரவத்தின் கயிறுகளால் கட்டப்பட்டிருந்தாலும்,

8. But, if, bound in fetters, they have been captured with cords of affliction,

9. அவர், அவர்கள் கிரியையையும், மிஞ்சிப்போன அவர்களுடைய மீறுதல்களையும் அவர்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்தி,

9. Then hath he declared to them their deed, and their transgressions that they were wont to behave themselves proudly;

10. அக்கிரமத்தை விட்டுத் திரும்பும்படி அவர்கள் செவியைத் திறந்து கடிந்துகொள்ளுகிறார்.

10. Thus hath he uncovered their ear to a warning, and said that they should turn from iniquity.

11. அவர்கள் அடங்கி அவரைச் சேவித்தால், தங்கள் நாட்களை நன்மையாகவும், தங்கள் வருஷங்களைச் செல்வவாழ்வாகவும் போக்குவார்கள்.

11. If they would hearken, and serve, they should complete their days, in prosperity, and their years, in pleasantness;

12. அடங்கார்களேயாகில் பட்டயத்துக்கு இரையாகி, ஞானம் அடையாமல் மாண்டுபோவார்கள்.

12. But, if they would not hearken, by a weapon, should they pass away, and breathe their last, no one knowing.

13. மாயமுள்ள இருதயத்தார் குரோதத்தைக் குவித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்; அவர்களை அவர் கட்டிவைக்கும்போது கெஞ்சிக் கூப்பிடுவார்கள்.

13. Yea, the impious in heart, should store up anger, They should not cry for help, when he bound them.

14. அவர்கள் வாலவயதிலே மாண்டுபோவார்கள்; இலச்சையானவர்களுக்குள்ளே அவர்கள் பிராணன் முடியும்.

14. Their soul should die in youth, and their life, among the unclean.

15. சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களை அவர் சிறுமைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி, அவர்கள் ஒடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கையில் அவர்கள் செவியைத் திறக்கிறார்.

15. He would deliver the humbled in his humiliation, and would uncover in oppression their ear.

16. அப்படியே அவர் உம்மையும் நெருக்கத்தினின்று விலக்கி, ஒடுக்கமில்லாத விசாலத்திலே வைப்பார்; உம்முடைய போஜனபந்தி கொழுமையான பதார்த்தங்களால் நிறைந்திருக்கும்.

16. Yea he might even have allured thee out of the mouth of straitness, into a wide space no narrowness there, and, the food set down on thy table, should have been full of fatness.

17. ஆகாதவன்மேல் வரும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நிறைவேறப் பார்ப்பீர்; நியாயமும் நீதியும் உம்மை ஆதரிக்கும்.

17. But, with the plea of a lawless one, thou art full, Plea and sentence, will take fast hold.

18. உக்கிரமுண்டாயிருக்கிறதினால் அவர் உம்மை ஒரு அடியினால் வாரிக்கொண்டுபோகாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரும்; அப்பொழுது மீட்கும் பொருளை மிகுதியாய்க் கொடுத்தாலும் அதற்கு நீர் நீங்கலாகமாட்டீர்.

18. Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with a stroke, Then let not, a great ransom, mislead thee.

19. உம்முடைய செல்வத்தை அவர் மதிப்பாரோ? உம்முடைய பொன்னையும், பூரண பராக்கிரமத்தையும் அவர் மதிக்கமாட்டாரே.

19. Will he value thy riches? Nay not precious ore, nor all the forces of strength.

20. ஜனங்கள் தங்கள் இடத்தைவிட்டு வாரிக்கொள்ளப்படப்போகிற இரவை வாஞ்சிக்காதிரும்.

20. Do not pant for the night, when peoples disappear from their place.

21. அக்கிரமத்துக்குத் திரும்பாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரும்; உபத்திரவத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் அக்கிரமத்தைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டீரே.

21. Beware, do not turn unto iniquity, For, this, thou hast chosen rather than affliction.

22. இதோ, தேவன் தம்முடைய வல்லமையில் உயர்ந்திருக்கிறார்; அவரைப் போல் போதிக்கிறவர் யார்?

22. Lo, GOD, exalteth himself by his strength, Who like him doth teach?

23. அவருடைய வழியின் நியாயத்தை விசாரிக்கத்தக்கவன் யார்? நீர் அநியாயம் செய்தீர் என்று சொல்லத்தக்கவன் யார்?

23. Who enjoined on him his way? and who ever said, Thou hast wrought perversity?

24. மனுஷர் நோக்கிப்பார்க்கிற அவருடைய கிரியையை நீர் மகிமைப்படுத்த நினையும்.

24. Remember, that thou extol his work, of which men have sung;

25. எல்லா மனுஷரும் அதைக் காண்கிறார்களே; தூரத்திலிருந்து அது மனுஷருக்கு வெளிப்படுகிறது.

25. Every son of earth, hath viewed it, Mortal man, looketh at it from afar.

26. இதோ, தேவன் மகத்துவமுள்ளவர்; நாம் அவரை அறிய முடியாது; அவருடைய வருஷங்களின் இலக்கம் ஆராய்ந்து முடியாதது.

26. Lo, GOD, is greater than we can know, The number of his years, even past finding out!

27. அவர் நீர்த்துளிகளை அணுவைப்போல ஏறப்பண்ணுகிறார்; அவைகள் மேகத்திலிருந்து மழையாய்ச் சொரிகிறது.

27. For he draweth up drops of water, They trickle as rain through his mist;

28. அதை மேகங்கள் பெய்து, மனுஷர்மேல் மிகுதியாய்ப் பொழிகிறது.

28. With which the clouds flow down, They drop on man in abundance.

29. மேகங்களின் பரவுதலையும், அவருடைய கூடாரத்திலிருந்து எழும்பும் குமுறல்களையும் அறியமுடியுமோ?

29. But surely none can understand the burstings of the cloud, the crashing of his pavilion!

30. இதோ, அதின்மேல் தம்முடைய மின்னலின் ஒளியை விரிக்கிறார்; சமுத்திரத்தின் ஆழங்களையும் மூடுகிறார்.

30. Lo! he hath spread out over it, his lightning, The bed of the sea, hath he covered.

31. அவைகளால் ஜனங்களை தண்டிக்கிறவரும், ஆகாரங்கொடுத்து இரட்சிக்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிறார்.

31. For, by those things, he executeth judgment on peoples, He giveth food in abundance:

32. அவர் மின்னலின் ஒளியைத் தமது கைக்குள்ளே மூடி, அது இன்னின்னதை அடிக்கவேண்டுமென்று கட்டளையிடுகிறார்.

32. Upon both hands, he putteth a covering of lightning, and layeth command upon it against an assailant:

33. அதினால், அவர் செய்ய நினைக்கிறதையும், மந்தாரம் எழும்பப்போகிறதையும், ஆடுமாடுகள் அறியப்படுத்தும்.

33. His rolling thunder telleth concerning him, The cattle, even, concerning him that is coming up.
