1. பின்னும் எலிகூ மாறுத்தரமாக:

1. Elihu continued,

2. ஞானிகளே, என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேளுங்கள்; அறிவாளிகளே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள்.

2. 'Hear what I'm saying, you wise men. Listen to me, you who have learned so much.

3. வாயானது போஜனத்தை ருசிபார்க்கிறதுபோல, செவியானது வார்த்தைகளைச் சோதித்துப்பார்க்கும்.

3. Our tongues tell us what tastes good and what doesn't. And our ears tell us what's true and what isn't.

4. நமக்காக நியாயமானதைத் தெரிந்துகொள்வோமாக; நன்மை இன்னதென்று நமக்குள்ளே அறிந்துகொள்வோமாக.

4. So let's choose for ourselves what is right. Let's learn together what is good.

5. யோபு: நான் நீதிமான்; தேவன் என் நியாயத்தைத் தள்ளிவிட்டார் என்றும்,

5. 'Job says, 'I'm not guilty of doing anything wrong. But God doesn't treat me fairly.

6. நியாயம் என்னிடத்தில் இருந்தும் நான் பொய்யனென்று எண்ணப்படுகிறேன்; மீறுதல் இல்லாதிருந்தும், அம்பினால் எனக்கு உண்டான காயம் ஆறாததாயிருக்கிறதென்றும் சொன்னாரே.

6. Even though I'm right, he thinks I'm a liar. Even though I'm not guilty, his arrows give me wounds that can't be healed.'

7. யோபைப்போலவே, பரியாசம்பண்ணுதலைத் தண்ணீரைப்போல் குடித்து,

7. Is there any other man like Job? He laughs at God and makes fun of him.

8. அக்கிரமக்காரரோடே கூடிக்கொண்டு, துன்மார்க்கரோடே திரிகிறவன் யார்?

8. He's a companion of those who do evil. He spends his time with sinful people.

9. எப்பயடியெனில், தேவன்மேல் பிரியம் வைக்கிறது மனுஷனுக்குப் பிரயோஜனம் அல்ல என்றாரே.

9. He asks, 'What good is it to try to please God?'

10. ஆகையால் புத்திமான்களே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள்; அக்கிரமம் தேவனுக்கும், அநீதி சர்வவல்லவருக்கும் தூரமாயிருக்கிறது.

10. 'So listen to me, you men who have understanding. God would never do what is evil. The Mighty One would never do what is wrong.

11. மனுஷனுடைய செய்கைக்குத்தக்கதை அவனுக்குச் சரிக்கட்டி, அவனவன் நடக்கைக்குத்தக்கதாக அவனவனுக்குப் பலனளிக்கிறார்.

11. He pays a man back for what he's done. He gives him exactly what he should get.

12. தேவன் அநியாயஞ் செய்யாமலும், சர்வவல்லவர் நீதியைப் புரட்டாமலும் இருக்கிறது மெய்யே.

12. It isn't possible for God to do wrong. The Mighty One would never treat people unfairly.

13. பூமியின்மேல் மனுஷனுக்கு அதிகாரம் கொடுத்தவர் யார்? பூச்சக்கரம் முழுதையும் ஒழுங்குப்படுத்தினவர் யார்?

13. Who appointed him to rule over the earth? Who put him in charge of the whole world?

14. அவர் தம்முடைய இருதயத்தை அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகத் திருப்பினாராகில், அவனுடைய ஆவியையும் அவனுடைய சுவாசத்தையும் தம்மிடத்தில் இழுத்துக்கொள்ளுவார்.

14. If he really wanted to, he could hold back his spirit and breath.

15. அப்படியே மாம்சமான யாவும் ஏகமாய் ஜீவித்துப்போம், மனுஷன் தூளுக்குத் திரும்புவான்.

15. Then everyone would die together. They would return to the dust.

16. உமக்கு உணர்விருந்தால் இதைக் கேளும், என் வார்த்தைகளின் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடும்.

16. 'Job, if you have understanding, listen to me. Pay attention to what I'm saying.

17. நீதியைப் பகைக்கிற ஒருவன் ஆளக்கூடுமோ? மகா நீதிபரரைக் குற்றப்படுத்துவீரோ?

17. Can someone who hates to be fair govern? Will you bring charges against the holy and mighty One?

18. ஒரு ராஜைவைப் பார்த்து, நீ பொல்லாதவன் என்றும், அதிபதிகளைப் பார்த்து, நீங்கள் அக்கிரமக்காரர் என்றும் சொல்லத்தகுமோ?

18. He says to kings, 'You are worthless.' He says to nobles, 'You are evil.'

19. இப்படியிருக்க, பிரபுக்களின் முகத்தைப்பாராமலும், ஏழையைப்பார்க்கிலும் ஐசுவரியவானை அதிகமாய் எண்ணாமலும் இருக்கிறவரை நோக்கி இப்படிச் சொல்லலாமா? இவர்கள் எல்லாரும் அவர் கரங்களின் கிரியையே.

19. He doesn't favor princes. He treats rich people and poor people the same. His hands created all of them.

20. இப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் சடிதியில் சாவார்கள்; ஜனங்கள் பாதிஜாமத்தில் கலங்கி ஒழிந்துபோவார்கள்; காணாத கையினால் பலவந்தர் அழிந்துபோவார்கள்.

20. They die suddenly in the middle of the night. God strikes them down, and they pass away. Those who are mighty are removed, but not by human hands.

21. அவருடைய கண்கள் மனுஷருடைய வழிகளை நோக்கியிருக்கிறது; அவர்களுடைய நடைகளையெல்லாம் அவர் பார்க்கிறார்.

21. 'His eyes see how people live. He watches every step they take.

22. அக்கிரமக்காரர் ஒளித்துக்கொள்ளத்தக்க அந்தகாரமுமில்லை, மரணஇருளுமில்லை.

22. There isn't a dark place or deep shadow where those who do what is evil can hide.

23. மனுஷன் தேவனோடே வழக்காடும்படி அவர் அவன்மேல் மிஞ்சினதொன்றையும் சுமத்தமாட்டார்.

23. God doesn't need to bring charges against men. He knows they are guilty. So he doesn't need to have them appear in his court to be judged.

24. ஆராய்ந்து முடியாத நியாயமாய் அவர் வல்லமையுள்ளவர்களை நொறுக்கி, வேறே மனுஷரை அவர்கள் ஸ்தானத்திலே நிறுத்துகிறார்.

24. He destroys the mighty without asking them questions in court. Then he sets others up in their places.

25. அவர்கள் கிரியைகளை அவர் அறிந்தவரானபடியால், அவர்கள் நசுங்கிப்போகத்தக்கதாய் இராக்காலத்தில் அவர்களைக் கவிழ்த்துப்போடுகிறார்.

25. He knows what they do. So he crushes them during the night.

26. அவர்கள் அவரை விட்டுப் பின்வாங்கி அவருடைய எல்லா வழிகளையும் உணர்ந்துகொள்ளாமல் போனபடியினாலும்,

26. He punishes them for the sins they commit. He does it where everyone can see them.

27. எளியவர்களின் கூக்குரல் அவரிடத்தில் சேரும்படி செய்ததினாலும், சிறுமையானவனுடைய கூக்குரலைக் கேட்கிற அவர்,

27. That's because they turned away from following him. They didn't have respect for anything he does.

28. எல்லாரும் பார்க்கும்படி அவர்களைத் துன்மார்க்கரென்று அடிக்கிறார்.

28. They caused poor people to cry out to him. He heard the cries of those who were in need.

29. மாயக்காரன் ஆளாதபடிக்கும், ஜனங்கள் சிக்கிக்கொள்ளப்படாதபடிக்கும்,

29. But if he remains silent, who can judge him? If he turns his face away, who can see him? He rules over people and nations alike.

30. ஒரு ஜனத்துக்கானாலும் ஒரு மனுஷனுக்கானாலும், அவர் சமாதானத்தை அருளினால் யார் கலங்கப்பண்ணுவான்? அவர் தமது முகத்தை மறைத்தால் அவரைக் காண்கிறவன் யார்?

30. He keeps those who are ungodly from ruling. He keeps them from laying traps for others.

31. நான் தண்டிக்கப்பட்டேன்; நான் இனிப் பாவஞ்செய்யமாட்டேன்.

31. 'Someone might say to God, 'I'm guilty of sinning, but I won't do it anymore.

32. நான் காணாத காரியத்தை நீர் எனக்குப் போதியும், நான் அநியாயம்பண்ணினேனானால், நான் இனி அப்படிச் செய்வதில்லை என்று தேவனை நோக்கிச் சொல்லத்தகுமே.

32. Show me my sins that I'm not aware of. If I've done what is wrong, I won't do it again.'

33. நீர் அப்படிச் செய்யமாட்டோமென்கிறபடியினால், உம்மோடிருக்கிறவர்களில் ஒருவனை உமக்குப் பதிலாக அதைச் செய்யச்சொல்வீரோ? நான் அல்ல, நீரே தெரிந்துகொள்ளவேண்டும்; அல்லவென்றால், நீர் அறிந்திருக்கிறதைச் சொல்லும்.

33. But you refuse to turn away from your sins. So God won't treat you the way you want to be treated. You must decide, Job. I can't do it for you. So tell me what you know.

34. யோபு அறிவில்லாமல் பேசினார்; அவர் வார்த்தைகள் ஞானமுள்ளவைகள் அல்லவென்று,

34. 'You men who have understanding have spoken. You wise men who hear me have said to me,

35. புத்தியுள்ள மனுஷர் என் பட்சமாய்ப் பேசுவார்கள்; ஞானமுள்ள மனுஷனும் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பான்.

35. 'Job doesn't know what he's talking about. The things he has said don't make any sense.'

36. அக்கிரமக்காரர் சொன்ன மறுஉத்தரவுகளினிமித்தம் யோபு முற்றமுடிய சோதிக்கப்படவேண்டியதே என் அபேட்சை.

36. I wish Job would be put to the hardest test! He answered like someone who is evil.

37. தம்முடைய பாவத்தோடே மீறுதலைக் கூட்டினார்; அவர் எங்களுக்குள்ளே கைகொட்டி, தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தம்முடைய வார்த்தைகளை மிகுதியாக வசனித்தார் என்றான்.

37. To his sin he adds even more sin. He claps his hands and makes fun of us. He multiplies his words against God.'
