1. அவன் தனக்குத் தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் வீடுகளை உண்டாக்கி, தேவனுடைய பெட்டிக்கு ஒரு ஸ்தலத்தை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தி, அதற்கு ஒரு கூடாரத்தைப் போட்டான்.

1. And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of Elohim, and pitched for it a tent.

2. பிற்பாடு தாவீது: லேவியர் ஒழிய வேறொருவரும் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை எடுக்கலாகாது; தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை எடுக்கவும், என்றைக்கும் அவருக்குப் பணிவிடைசெய்யவும், அவர்களையே கர்த்தர் தெரிந்துகொண்டார் என்றான்.

2. Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of Elohim but the Levites: for them hath YHWH chosen to carry the ark of Elohim, and to minister unto him for ever.

3. அப்படியே கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டிக்குத் தான் ஆயத்தப்படுத்தின அதின் ஸ்தலத்திற்கு அதைக் கொண்டுவரும்படி, தாவீது இஸ்ரவேலையெல்லாம் எருசலேமிலே கூடிவரச்செய்தான்.

3. And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of YHWH unto his place, which he had prepared for it.

4. ஆரோனின் புத்திரரையும்,

4. And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:

5. லேவியராகிய கோகாத் புத்திரரில் பிரபுவாகிய ஊரியேலையும், அவன் சகோதரராகிய நூற்றிருபதுபேரையும்,

5. Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:

6. மெராரியின் புத்திரரில் பிரபுவாகிய அசாயாவையும், அவன் சகோதரராகிய இருநூற்றிருபதுபேரையும்,

6. Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:

7. Of the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and thirty:

8. Of the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred:

9. Of the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore:

10. Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve.

11. பின்பு தாவீது ஆசாரியராகிய சாதோக்கையும், அபியத்தாரையும், லேவியராகிய ஊரியேல், அசாயா, யோவேல், செமாயா, எலியேல், அம்மினதாப் என்பவர்களையும் அழைத்து,

11. And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

12. அவர்களை நோக்கி: லேவியரில் நீங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய சந்ததிகளின் தலைவர், நீங்கள் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் பெட்டியை அதற்கு நான் ஆயத்தம்பண்ணின ஸ்தலத்திற்குக் கொண்டுவரும்படி, உங்களையும் உங்கள் சகோதரரையும் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

12. And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of YHWH Elohim of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.

13. முதலில் நீங்கள் அதைச் சுமக்காதபடியினாலும், நாம் நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை நியாயமானபடியே தேடாதேபோனபடியினாலும், அவர் நமக்குள்ளே அடிவிழப்பண்ணினார் என்றான்.

13. For because ye did it not at the first, YHWH our Elohim made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

14. ஆசாரியரும் லேவியரும் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் பெட்டியைக் கொண்டுவரத் தங்களைச் சுத்தம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

14. So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of YHWH Elohim of Israel.

15. பின்பு லேவி புத்திரர் கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையின்படியே, மோசே கற்பித்த பிரகாரம் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை அதின் தண்டுகளினாலே தங்கள் தோள்மேல் எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

15. And the children of the Levites bare the ark of Elohim upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of YHWH.

16. தாவீது லேவியரின் பிரபுக்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் உங்கள் சகோதரராகிய பாடகரைத் தம்புரு சுரமண்டலம் கைத்தாளம் முதலிய கீதவாத்தியங்கள் முழங்க, தங்கள் சத்தத்தை உயர்த்தி, சந்தோஷம் உண்டாகப் பாடும்படி நிறுத்தவேண்டும் என்று சொன்னான்.

16. And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.

17. அப்படியே லேவியர் யோவேலின் குமாரனாகிய ஏமானையும், அவன் சகோதரரில் பெரகியாவின் குமாரனாகிய ஆசாப்பையும், மெராரியின் புத்திரரான தங்கள் சகோதரரில் குஷாயாவின் குமாரனாகிய ஏத்தானையும்,

17. So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

18. இவர்களோடுங்கூட இரண்டாவது வரிசையாகத் தங்கள் சகோதரராகிய சகரியா, பேன், யாசியேல், செமிரமோத், யெகியேல், உன்னி, எலியாப், பெனாயா, மாசெயா, மத்தித்தியா, எலிப்பெலேகு, மிக்னேயா, ஓபேத்ஏதோம், ஏயெல் என்னும் வாசல் காவலாளரையும் நிறுத்தினார்கள்.

18. And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the porters.

19. பாடகராகிய ஏமானும், ஆசாப்பும், ஏத்தானும், பஞ்சலோகக் கைத்தாளங்களைத் தொனிக்கப்பண்ணிப் பாடினார்கள்.

19. So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;

20. சகரியா, ஆசியேல், செமிரமோத், யெகியேல், உன்னி, எலியாப், மாசெயா, பெனாயா என்பவர்கள் அல்மோத் என்னும் இசையில் பாடி, தம்புருகளை வாசித்தார்கள்.

20. And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;

21. மத்தித்தியா, எலிப்பெலேகு, மிக்னேயா, ஓபேத்ஏதோம், ஏயெல், அசசியா என்பவர்கள் செமனீத் என்னும் இசையில் பாடி, சுரமண்டலங்களை நேர்த்தியாய் வாசித்தார்கள்.

21. And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.

22. லேவியருக்குள்ளே கெனானியா என்பவன் சங்கீதத்தலைவனாயிருந்தான்; அவன் நிபுணனானபடியால், கீதவித்தையைப் படிப்பித்தான்.

22. And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.

23. பெரகியாவும் எல்க்கானாவும் பெட்டிக்கு முன்பாகக் காவல்காத்துவந்தார்கள்.

23. And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.

24. செபனியா, யோசபாத், நெதனெயேல், அமாசாயி, சகரியா, பெனாயா, எலியேசர் என்னும் ஆசாரியர் தேவனுடைய பெட்டிக்கு முன்பாகப் பூரிகைகளை ஊதினார்கள்; ஓபேத்ஏதோமும், எகியாவும் பெட்டிக்கு வாசல் காவலாளராயிருந்தார்கள்.

24. And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of Elohim: and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.

25. இப்படித் தாவீதும், இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பரும், ஆயிரத்துச் சேர்வைக்காரரும் கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியை ஓபேத்ஏதோமின் வீட்டிலிருந்து மகிழ்ச்சியோடே கொண்டுவரப்போனார்கள்.

25. So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of YHWH out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.

26. கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியைச் சுமக்கிற லேவியருக்கு தேவன் அநுக்கிரகம் பண்ணினபடியால், அவர்கள் ஏழு காளைகளையும் ஏழு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் பலியிட்டார்கள்.

26. And it came to pass, when Elohim helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of YHWH, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.

27. தாவீதும், பெட்டியைச் சுமக்கிற சகல லேவியரும், பாடகரும், பாடகரின் வேலையை விசாரிக்கிற தலைவனாகிய கெனானியாவும், மெல்லிய புடவையான சால்வைகளைத் தரித்திருந்தார்கள்; தாவீது சணல்நூல் ஏபோத்தைத் தரித்திருந்தான்.

27. And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.

28. அப்படியே இஸ்ரவேலனைத்தும் கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியைக் கெம்பீரத்தோடும், எக்காளங்கள் பூரிகைகள் கைத்தாளங்களின் தொனியோடும், தம்புருகளையும் சுரமண்டலங்களையும் வாசிக்கிற சத்தத்தோடும் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

28. Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of YHWH with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.

29. கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப்பெட்டி, தாவீதின் நகரமட்டும் வந்தபோது, சவுலின் குமாரத்தியாகிய மீகாள் பலகணி வழியாய்ப் பார்த்து, தாவீது ராஜா ஆடிப்பாடி வருகிறதைக் கண்டு, அவனைத் தன் இருதயத்திலே அவமதித்தாள்.

29. And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of YHWH came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
