1. அவன் நாட்களிலே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் வந்தான்; யோயாக்கீம் மூன்று வருஷம் அவனைச் சேவித்து, பின்பு அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கலகம்பண்ணினான்.

1. In his times, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon invaded, and Jehoiakim became his vassal for three years, but then rebelled against him a second time.

2. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் கல்தேயரின் தண்டுகளையும், சீரியரின் தண்டுகளையும், மோவாபியரின் தண்டுகளையும், அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் தண்டுகளையும் அவன்மேல் வரவிட்டார்; தீர்க்கதரிசிகளாகிய தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரைக்கொண்டு கர்த்தர் சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படியே அவர் அவைகளை யூதாவை அழிக்கும்படிக்கு வரவிட்டார்.

2. So he sent armed bands of Chaldaeans, Aramaeans, Moabites and Ammonites against him; he sent these against Judah to destroy it, in accordance with the word which Yahweh had spoken through his servants the prophets.

3. மனாசே தன் எல்லாச் செய்கைகளினாலும் செய்த பாவங்களினிமித்தம் யூதாவைத் தமது சமுகத்தை விட்டு அகற்றும்படி கர்த்தருடைய கட்டளையினால் அப்படி நடந்தது.

3. It was entirely due to Yahweh's anger that this happened to Judah; he had resolved to thrust them away from him because of Manasseh's sins and all that he had done,

4. அவன் சிந்தின குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்திற்காகவும் எருசலேமைக் குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்தால் நிரப்பினதற்காகவும் கர்த்தர் மன்னிக்கச் சித்தமில்லாதிருந்தார்.

4. and also because of the innocent blood which he had shed, flooding Jerusalem with innocent blood. Yahweh would not forgive.

5. யோயாக்கீமின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவன் செய்தவை யாவும், யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

5. The rest of the history of Jehoiakim, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of the Kings of Judah?

6. யோயாக்கீம் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின், அவன் குமாரனாகிய யோயாக்கீன் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

6. Then Jehoiakim fell asleep with his ancestors; his son Jehoiachin succeeded him.

7. எகிப்தின் ராஜா அப்புறம் தன் தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வரவில்லை; எகிப்தின் நதிதுவக்கி ஐபிராத்து நதிமட்டும் எகிப்தின் ராஜாவுக்கு இருந்த யாவையும் பாபிலோன் ராஜா பிடித்திருந்தான்.

7. The king of Egypt did not leave his own country again, because the king of Babylon had conquered everywhere belonging to the king of Egypt, from the Torrent of Egypt to the River Euphrates.

8. யோயாக்கீன் ராஜாவாகிறபோது பதினெட்டு வயதாயிருந்து, எருசலேமிலே மூன்று மாதம் அரசாண்டான்; எருசலேம் ஊரானாகிய எல்நாத்தானின் குமாரத்தியான அவன் தாயின் பேர் நெகுஸ்தாள்.

8. Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for three months in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Nehushta daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

9. அவன் தன் தகப்பன் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

9. He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, just as his father had done.

10. அக்காலத்திலே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரின் சேவகர் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தார்கள்; நகரம் முற்றிக்கை போடப்பட்டது.

10. At that time the troops of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon advanced on Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

11. பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாருடைய சேவகர் நகரத்தை முற்றிக்கை போடுகையில் அவன் தானும் அதற்கு விரோதமாய் வந்தான்.

11. Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon advanced on the city and his generals laid siege to it.

12. அப்பொழுது யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீனும், அவன் தாயும், அவன் ஊழியக்காரரும், அவன் பிரபுக்களும், பிரதானிகளும் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவினிடத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்; அவனைப் பாபிலோன் ராஜா தன் ஆளுகையின் எட்டாம் வருஷத்திலே பிடித்துக்கொண்டான்.

12. Jehoiachin king of Judah-he, his mother, his retinue, his nobles and his officials -- then surrendered to the king of Babylon, and the king of Babylon took them prisoner in the eighth year of his reign.

13. அங்கேயிருந்து கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் சகல பொக்கிஷங்களையும், ராஜாவுடைய அரமனையின் பொக்கிஷங்களையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் உண்டாக்கியிருந்த பொன் பணிமுட்டுகளையெல்லாம் கர்த்தர் சொல்லியிருந்தபடியே உடைத்துப்போட்டு,

13. The latter carried off all the treasures of the Temple of Yahweh and the treasures of the palace and broke up all the golden furnishings which Solomon king of Israel had made for the sanctuary of Yahweh, as Yahweh had foretold.

14. எருசலேமியர் அனைவரும் சகல பிரபுக்களும் சகல பராக்கிரமசாலிகளுமாகிய பதினாயிரம்பேரையும், சகல தச்சரையும் கொல்லரையும் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்; தேசத்தில் ஏழை ஜனங்களே அல்லாமல் வேறொருவரும் மீதியாயிருக்கவில்லை.

14. He carried all Jerusalem off into exile, all the nobles and all the notables, ten thousand of these were exiled, with all the blacksmiths and metalworkers; only the poorest people in the country were left behind.

15. அவன் யோயாக்கீனையும், ராஜாவின் தாயையும், ராஜாவின் ஸ்திரீகளையும், அவன் பிரதானிகளையும், தேசத்தின் பராக்கிரமசாலிகளையும் எருசலேமிலிருந்து பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

15. He deported Jehoiachin to Babylon, as also the king's mother, his officials and the nobility of the country; he made them all leave Jerusalem for exile in Babylon.

16. இப்படியே பாபிலோன் ராஜா பராக்கிரமசாலிகளான மனுஷராகிய ஏழாயிரம்பேரையும், தச்சரும் கொல்லருமாகிய ஆயிரம்பேரையும், யுத்தம்பண்ணத்தக்க பலசாலிகளையும் பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

16. All the men of distinction, seven thousand of them, the blacksmiths and metalworkers, one thousand of them, all the men capable of bearing arms, were led off into exile in Babylon by the king of Babylon.

17. அவனுக்குப் பதிலாகப் பாபிலோன் ராஜா அவன் சிறிய தகப்பனாகிய மத்தனியாவை ராஜாவாக வைத்து, அவனுக்குச் சிதேக்கியா என்று மறுபேரிட்டான்.

17. The king of Babylon deposed Jehoiachin in favour of his paternal uncle Mattaniah, whose name he changed to Zedekiah.

18. சிதேக்கியா ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தொரு வயதாயிருந்து, பதினொருவருஷம் எருசலேமிலே அரசாண்டான்; லிப்னா ஊரானாகிய எரேமியாவின் குமாரத்தியான அவன் தாயின் பேர் அமுத்தாள்.

18. Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Hamital daughter of Jeremiah, of Libnah.

19. யோயாக்கீம் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் அவனும் கர்த்தருடைய பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

19. He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, just as Jehoiakim had done.

20. எருசலேமையும் யூதாவையும் கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய சமுகத்தைவிட்டு அகற்றித் தீருமளவும், அவைகளின்மேலுள்ள அவருடைய கோபத்தினால் இப்படி நடந்ததும் அல்லாமல், சிதேக்கியா பாபிலோனிலே ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கலகமும்பண்ணினான்.

20. It was entirely due to Yahweh's anger that this happened to Jerusalem and Judah. It resulted in his casting them from his presence. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
