1. அவன் நாட்களிலே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் வந்தான்; யோயாக்கீம் மூன்று வருஷம் அவனைச் சேவித்து, பின்பு அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கலகம்பண்ணினான்.

1. While Jehoiakim was king, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon attacked the land of Judah. So Jehoiakim became Nebuchadnezzar's servant for three years. Then he turned against Nebuchadnezzar and broke away from his rule.

2. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் கல்தேயரின் தண்டுகளையும், சீரியரின் தண்டுகளையும், மோவாபியரின் தண்டுகளையும், அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் தண்டுகளையும் அவன்மேல் வரவிட்டார்; தீர்க்கதரிசிகளாகிய தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரைக்கொண்டு கர்த்தர் சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படியே அவர் அவைகளை யூதாவை அழிக்கும்படிக்கு வரவிட்டார்.

2. The Lord sent raiding parties from Babylon, Aram, Moab, and Ammon against Jehoiakim to destroy Judah. This happened as the Lord had said it would through his servants the prophets.

3. மனாசே தன் எல்லாச் செய்கைகளினாலும் செய்த பாவங்களினிமித்தம் யூதாவைத் தமது சமுகத்தை விட்டு அகற்றும்படி கர்த்தருடைய கட்டளையினால் அப்படி நடந்தது.

3. The Lord commanded this to happen to the people of Judah, to remove them from his presence, because of all the sins of Manasseh.

4. அவன் சிந்தின குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்திற்காகவும் எருசலேமைக் குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்தால் நிரப்பினதற்காகவும் கர்த்தர் மன்னிக்கச் சித்தமில்லாதிருந்தார்.

4. He had killed many innocent people and had filled Jerusalem with their blood. And the Lord would not forgive these sins.

5. யோயாக்கீமின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவன் செய்தவை யாவும், யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

5. The other things that happened while Jehoiakim was king and all he did are written in the book of the history of the kings of Judah.

6. யோயாக்கீம் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின், அவன் குமாரனாகிய யோயாக்கீன் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

6. Jehoiakim died, and his son Jehoiachin became king in his place.

7. எகிப்தின் ராஜா அப்புறம் தன் தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வரவில்லை; எகிப்தின் நதிதுவக்கி ஐபிராத்து நதிமட்டும் எகிப்தின் ராஜாவுக்கு இருந்த யாவையும் பாபிலோன் ராஜா பிடித்திருந்தான்.

7. The king of Egypt did not leave his land again, because the king of Babylon had captured all that belonged to the king of Egypt, from the brook of Egypt to the Euphrates River.

8. யோயாக்கீன் ராஜாவாகிறபோது பதினெட்டு வயதாயிருந்து, எருசலேமிலே மூன்று மாதம் அரசாண்டான்; எருசலேம் ஊரானாகிய எல்நாத்தானின் குமாரத்தியான அவன் தாயின் பேர் நெகுஸ்தாள்.

8. Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he was king three months in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Nehushta daughter of Elnathan from Jerusalem.

9. அவன் தன் தகப்பன் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

9. Jehoiachin did what the Lord said was wrong, just as his father had done.

10. அக்காலத்திலே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரின் சேவகர் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தார்கள்; நகரம் முற்றிக்கை போடப்பட்டது.

10. At that time the officers of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem. When they reached the city, they attacked it.

11. பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாருடைய சேவகர் நகரத்தை முற்றிக்கை போடுகையில் அவன் தானும் அதற்கு விரோதமாய் வந்தான்.

11. Nebuchadnezzar himself came to the city while his officers were attacking it.

12. அப்பொழுது யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீனும், அவன் தாயும், அவன் ஊழியக்காரரும், அவன் பிரபுக்களும், பிரதானிகளும் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவினிடத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்; அவனைப் பாபிலோன் ராஜா தன் ஆளுகையின் எட்டாம் வருஷத்திலே பிடித்துக்கொண்டான்.

12. Jehoiachin king of Judah surrendered to the king of Babylon, along with Jehoiachin's mother, servants, older leaders, and officers. So Nebuchadnezzar made Jehoiachin a prisoner in the eighth year he was king of Babylon.

13. அங்கேயிருந்து கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் சகல பொக்கிஷங்களையும், ராஜாவுடைய அரமனையின் பொக்கிஷங்களையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் உண்டாக்கியிருந்த பொன் பணிமுட்டுகளையெல்லாம் கர்த்தர் சொல்லியிருந்தபடியே உடைத்துப்போட்டு,

13. Nebuchadnezzar took all the treasures from the Temple of the Lord and from the palace. He cut up all the gold objects Solomon king of Israel had made for the Temple of the Lord. This happened as the Lord had said it would.

14. எருசலேமியர் அனைவரும் சகல பிரபுக்களும் சகல பராக்கிரமசாலிகளுமாகிய பதினாயிரம்பேரையும், சகல தச்சரையும் கொல்லரையும் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்; தேசத்தில் ஏழை ஜனங்களே அல்லாமல் வேறொருவரும் மீதியாயிருக்கவில்லை.

14. Nebuchadnezzar took away all the people of Jerusalem, including all the leaders, all the wealthy people, and all the craftsmen and metal workers. There were ten thousand prisoners in all. Only the poorest people in the land were left.

15. அவன் யோயாக்கீனையும், ராஜாவின் தாயையும், ராஜாவின் ஸ்திரீகளையும், அவன் பிரதானிகளையும், தேசத்தின் பராக்கிரமசாலிகளையும் எருசலேமிலிருந்து பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

15. Nebuchadnezzar carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, as well as the king's mother and his wives, the officers, and the leading men of the land. They were taken captive from Jerusalem to Babylon.

16. இப்படியே பாபிலோன் ராஜா பராக்கிரமசாலிகளான மனுஷராகிய ஏழாயிரம்பேரையும், தச்சரும் கொல்லருமாகிய ஆயிரம்பேரையும், யுத்தம்பண்ணத்தக்க பலசாலிகளையும் பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

16. The king of Babylon also took all seven thousand soldiers, who were strong and able to fight in war, and about a thousand craftsmen and metal workers. Nebuchadnezzar took them as prisoners to Babylon.

17. அவனுக்குப் பதிலாகப் பாபிலோன் ராஜா அவன் சிறிய தகப்பனாகிய மத்தனியாவை ராஜாவாக வைத்து, அவனுக்குச் சிதேக்கியா என்று மறுபேரிட்டான்.

17. Then he made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin's uncle, king in Jehoiachin's place. He also changed Mattaniah's name to Zedekiah.

18. சிதேக்கியா ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தொரு வயதாயிருந்து, பதினொருவருஷம் எருசலேமிலே அரசாண்டான்; லிப்னா ஊரானாகிய எரேமியாவின் குமாரத்தியான அவன் தாயின் பேர் அமுத்தாள்.

18. Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he was king in Jerusalem for eleven years. His mother's name was Hamutal daughter of Jeremiahn from Libnah.

19. யோயாக்கீம் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் அவனும் கர்த்தருடைய பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

19. Zedekiah did what the Lord said was wrong, just as Jehoiakim had done.

20. எருசலேமையும் யூதாவையும் கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய சமுகத்தைவிட்டு அகற்றித் தீருமளவும், அவைகளின்மேலுள்ள அவருடைய கோபத்தினால் இப்படி நடந்ததும் அல்லாமல், சிதேக்கியா பாபிலோனிலே ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கலகமும்பண்ணினான்.

20. All this happened in Jerusalem and Judah because the Lord was angry with them. Finally, he threw them out of his presence. Zedekiah turned against the king of Babylon.
