1. அப்பொழுது ராஜா யூதாவிலும் எருசலேமிலும் இருந்த மூப்பரையெல்லாம் அழைப்பித்தான்; அவர்கள் அவனிடத்தில் கூடினபோது,

1. Then the King sent, and there gathered vnto him all the Elders of Iudah and of Ierusalem.

2. ராஜாவும், அவனோடு யூதாவின் மனுஷர் யாவரும் எருசலேமின் குடிகள் அனைவரும், ஆசாரியர்களும், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும், சிறியோர் துவக்கிப் பெரியோர் மட்டுமுள்ள சகலரும் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்துக்குப் போனார்கள்; கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலே கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட உடன்படிக்கை புஸ்தகத்தின் வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் அவர்கள் காதுகள் கேட்க வாசித்தான்.

2. And the King went vp into the house of the Lord, with all the men of Iudah and all the inhabitants of Ierusalem with him, and the Priests and Prophets, and all the people both small and great: and he reade in their eares all the wordes of the booke of the couenant, which was found in the house of the Lord.

3. அப்பொழுது ராஜா, தூண் அருகே நின்று, கர்த்தரைப் பின்பற்றி நடக்கவும், அவருடைய கற்பனைகளையும் அவருடைய சாட்சிகளையும் அவருடைய கட்டளைகளையும் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும் கைக்கொள்ளவும், அந்தப் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிற அந்த உடன்படிக்கையின் வார்த்தைகளை நிறைவேற்றவும் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணினான்; ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் உடன்படிக்கைக்கு உட்பட்டார்கள்.

3. And the King stood by the pillar, and made a couenant before the Lord, that they shoulde walke after the Lord, and keepe his commandements, and his testimonies, and his statutes with all their heart, and with all their soule, that they might accomplish the wordes of this couenant written in this booke. And all the people stood to the couenant.

4. பின்பு ராஜா: பாகாலுக்கும் விக்கிரகத்தோப்புக்கும் வானத்தின் சகல சேனைகளுக்கும் பண்ணப்பட்டிருந்த சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலிருந்து புறம்பாக்க, பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய இல்க்கியாவுக்கும் இரண்டாம் வகுப்பிலுள்ள ஆசாரியர்களுக்கும் வாசல் காக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் கட்டளையிட்டு, அவைகளை எருசலேமுக்குப் புறம்பாய்க் கீதரோன் வெளிகளில் சுட்டெரித்து, அவைகளின் சாம்பலைப் பெத்தேலுக்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பண்ணினான்.

4. Then the King commanded Hilkiah the hie Priest and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the doore, to bring out of ye Temple of the Lord all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the groue, and for all the hoste of heauen, and he burnt them without Ierusalem in the fieldes of Kedron, and caryed the pouder of them into Beth-el.

5. யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலும் எருசலேமைச் சுற்றிலும் மேடைகளின்மேல் தூபங்காட்ட, யூதாவின் ராஜாக்கள் வைத்த பூஜாசாரிகளையும், பாகாலுக்கும் சூரியனுக்கும் சந்திரனுக்கும் கிரகங்களுக்கும் வானத்தின் சகல சேனைகளுக்கும் தூபங்காட்டினவர்களையும் அகற்றிவிட்டான்.

5. And he put downe the Chemarims, whom the Kings of Iudah had founded to burne incense in the hie places, and in the cities of Iudah, and about Ierusalem, and also them that burnt incense vnto Baal, to the sunne and to the moone, and to the planets, and to all the hoste of heauen.

6. தோப்பு விக்கிரகத்தை கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்திலிருந்து எருசலேமுக்குப் புறம்பே கீதரோன் ஆற்றிற்குக் கொண்டுபோய், அதைக் கீதரோன் ஆற்று ஓரத்திலே சுட்டெரித்து, அதைத் தூளாக்கி, அந்தத் தூளை ஜனபுத்திரருடைய பிரேதக் குழிகளின்மேல் போடுவித்தான்.

6. And he brought out the groue from the Temple of the Lord without Ierusalem vnto the valley of Kedron, and burnt it in the valley Kedron, and stampt it to pouder, and cast the dust thereof vpon the graues of the children of the people.

7. கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்திற்கு அருகே ஸ்திரீகள் தோப்பு விக்கிரகத்துக்குக் கூடாரங்களை நெய்த இடத்திலுள்ள இலச்சையான புணர்ச்சிக்காரரின் வீடுகளை இடித்துப்போட்டான்.

7. And hee brake downe the houses of the Sodomites, that were in the house of the Lord, where the women woue hangings for the groue.

8. அவன் யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலுள்ள எல்லா ஆசாரியரையும் வரச்சொல்லி, கேபாமுதல் பெயெர்செபாமட்டும் ஆசாரியர்கள் தூபங்காட்டியிருந்த மேடைகளைத் தீட்டாக்கி, ஒலிமுகவாசல்களின் மேடைகளையும், பட்டணத்து வாசலுக்குப்போகும் வழிக்கு இடதுபுறமாயிருக்கிற பட்டணத்தலைவனாகிய யோசுவாவின் வாசற்படியில் இருந்த மேடையையும் இடித்துப்போட்டான்.

8. Also he brought all the priests out of the cities of Iudah, and defiled the hie places where the Priests had burnt incense, euen from Geba to Beer-sheba, and destroyed the hie places of the gates, that were in the entring in of the gate of Ioshua the gouernour of the citie, which was at the left hand of the gate of the citie.

9. மேடைகளின் ஆசாரியர்கள் எருசலேமிலிருக்கிற கர்த்தருடைய பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் பலியிடாமல், தங்கள் சகோதரருக்குள்ளே புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பங்களைப் புசிக்கிறதற்குமாத்திரம் உத்தாரம்பெற்றார்கள்.

9. Neuerthelesse the Priests of the hie places came not vp to the altar of the Lord in Ierusalem, saue onely they did eate of the vnleauened bread among their brethren.

10. ஒருவனும் மோளேகுக்கென்று தன் குமாரனையாகிலும் தன் குமாரத்தியையாகிலும் தீக்கடக்கப்பண்ணாதபடிக்கு, இன்னோம் புத்திரரின் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலிருக்கிற தோப்பேத் என்னும் ஸ்தலத்தையும் அவன் தீட்டாக்கி,

10. He defiled also Topheth, which was in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man shoulde make his sonne or his daughter passe through the fire to Molech.

11. கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்திற்குள் போகிற இடந்தொடங்கி, பட்டணத்துக்குப் புறம்பே இருக்கிற நாத்தான்மெலெக் என்னும் பிரதானியின் அறைவீடுமட்டும் யூதாவின் ராஜாக்கள் சூரியனுக்கென்று வைத்திருந்த குதிரைகளை அகற்றி, சூரியனின் இரதங்களை அக்கினியில் சுட்டெரித்தான்.

11. He put downe also the horses that the Kings of Iudah had giuen to the sunne at the entring in of the house of the Lord, by the chamber of Nethan-melech the eunuche, which was ruler of the suburbes, and burnt the charets of the sunne with fire.

12. யூதாவின் ராஜாக்கள் உண்டாக்கினதும், ஆகாசுடைய மேல்வீட்டில் இருந்ததுமான பலிபீடங்களையும், மனாசே கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் இரண்டு பிராகாரங்களிலும் உண்டாக்கின பலிபீடங்களையும் ராஜா இடித்து, அவைகளின் தூளை அங்கேயிருந்து எடுத்துக் கீதரோன் ஆற்றில் கொட்டினான்.

12. And the altars that were on the top of the chamber of Ahaz, which the Kings of Iudah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the Lord did the King breake downe, and hasted thence, and cast the dust of them in the brooke Kedron.

13. எருசலேமுக்கு எதிரே இருக்கிற நாசமலையின் வலதுபுறத்தில் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் சீதோனியரின் அருவருப்பாகிய அஸ்தரோத்திற்கும், மோவாபியரின் அருவருப்பாகிய காமோசுக்கும், அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் அருவருப்பாகிய மில்கோமுக்கும் கட்டியிருந்த மேடைகளையும் ராஜா தீட்டாக்கி,

13. Moreouer the King defiled the hie places that were before Ierusalem and on the right hand of the mount of corruption (which Salomon the King of Israel had buylt for Ashtoreth the idole of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the idole of the Moabites, and for Milchom the abomination of the children of Ammon)

14. சிலைகளை உடைத்து, விக்கிரகத்தோப்புகளை நிர்மூலமாக்கி, அவைகளின் ஸ்தலத்தை மனுஷரின் எலும்புகளால் நிரப்பினான்.

14. And he brake the images in pieces, and cut downe the groues and filled their places with the bones of men.

15. இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவஞ்செய்யப்பண்ணின நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாம் பெத்தேலில் உண்டாக்கியிருந்த பலிபீடமும் மேடையும் ஆகிய அவ்விரண்டையும் அவன் இடித்து, அந்த மேடையைச் சுட்டெரித்துத் தூளாக்கி, விக்கிரகத்தோப்பையும் சுட்டெரித்தான்.

15. Furthermore the altar that was at Beth-el, and the hie place made by Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne, both this altar and also the hie place, brake he downe, and burnt the hie place, and stampt it to powder and burnt the groue.

16. யோசியா திரும்பிப்பார்க்கிறபோது அங்கே அந்த மலையிலிருக்கிற கல்லறைகளைக் கண்டு, ஆட்களை அனுப்பி, அந்தக் கல்லறைகளிலுள்ள எலும்புகளை எடுத்து வரச்செய்து, இப்படி நடக்கும் என்று தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் கூறின கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையின்படியே, அவைகளை அந்தப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் சுட்டெரித்து அதைத் தீட்டாக்கினான்.

16. And as Iosiah turned himselfe, he spied the graues, that were in the mount, and sent and tooke the bones out of the graues, and burnt them vpon the altar and polluted it, according to the word of the Lord, that the man of God proclaimed, which cryed the same wordes.

17. அப்பொழுது அவன்: நான் காண்கிற அந்தக் குறிப்படையாளம் என்ன என்று கேட்டதற்கு, அந்தப் பட்டணத்து மனுஷர்: அது யூதாவிலிருந்து வந்து, நீர் செய்த இந்தக் கிரியைகளைப் பெத்தேலின் பலிபீடத்திற்கு விரோதமாய்க் கூறி, அறிவித்த தேவனுடைய மனுஷனின் கல்லறை என்றார்கள்.

17. Then he sayde, What title is that which I see? And the men of the citie sayd vnto him, It is the sepulchre of the man of God, which came from Iudah, and tolde these things that thou hast done to the altar of Beth-el.

18. அதற்கு அவன்: இருக்கட்டும், ஒருவனும் அவன் எலும்புகளைத் தொடவேண்டாம் என்றான்; அப்படியே அவன் எலும்புகளைச் சமாரியாவிலிருந்து வந்த தீர்க்கதரிசியின் எலும்புகளோடு விட்டுவிட்டார்கள்.

18. Then sayde he, Let him alone: let none remooue his bones. So his bones were saued with the bones of the Prophet that came from Samaria.

19. கர்த்தருக்குக் கோபமுண்டாக்க இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாக்கள் சமாரியாவின் பட்டணங்களில் உண்டாக்கியிருந்த மேடைகளின் கோவில்களையெல்லாம் யோசியா தகர்த்து, பெத்தேலிலே தான் செய்த செய்கைகளின்படியே அவைகளுக்குச் செய்து,

19. Iosiah also tooke away all the houses of the hie places, which were in the cities of Samaria, which the Kings of Israel had made to anger the Lord, and did to them according to all the factes that he had done in Beth-el.

20. அவ்விடங்களில் இருக்கிற மேடைகளின் ஆசாரியர்களையெல்லாம் பலிபீடங்களின்மேல் கொன்றுபோட்டு, அவைகளின்மேல் மனுஷரின் எலும்புகளைச் சுட்டெரித்து, எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பினான்.

20. And he sacrificed all the Priests of the hie places, that were there vpon the altars, and burnt mens bones vpon them, and returned to Ierusalem.

21. பின்பு ராஜா: இந்த உடன்படிக்கையின் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியே உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பஸ்காவை ஆசரியுங்கள் என்று சகல ஜனங்களுக்கும் கட்டளையிட்டான்.

21. Then the king commanded all the people, saying, Keepe the passeouer vnto the Lord your God, as it is written in the booke of this couenant.

22. இஸ்ரவேலை நியாயம் விசாரித்த நியாயாதிபதிகளின் நாட்கள் தொடங்கி, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாக்கள் யூதாவின் ராஜாக்கள் ஆகிய அவர்களுடைய சகல நாட்களிலும் இந்தப் பஸ்காவைப்போல் பஸ்கா ஆசரிக்கப்படவில்லை.

22. And there was no Passeouer holden like that from the dayes of the Iudges that iudged Israel, nor in all the dayes of the Kinges of Israel, and of the Kings of Iudah.

23. ராஜாவாகிய யோசியாவின் பதினெட்டாம் வருஷத்திலே கர்த்தருக்கு இந்தப் பஸ்கா எருசலேமிலே ஆசரிக்கப்பட்டது.

23. And in the eightenth yere of King Iosiah was this Passeouer celebrated to the Lord in Ierusalem.

24. ஆசாரியனாகிய இல்க்கியா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் கண்டெடுத்த புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிற நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் வார்த்தைகளை நிறைவேற்றும்படிக்கு, யோசியா அஞ்சனக்காரரையும், குறிசொல்லுகிறவர்களையும், சுரூபங்களையும் நரகலான விக்கிரகங்களையும், யூதாதேசத்திலும் எருசலேமிலும் காணப்பட்ட எல்லா அருவருப்புகளையும் நிர்மூலமாக்கினான்.

24. Iosiah also tooke away them that had familiar spirits, and the soothsayers, and the images, and the idoles, and al the abominations that were espied in the lande of Iudah and in Ierusalem, to performe the wordes of the Lawe, which were written in the booke that Hilkiah the Priest found in the house of the Lord.

25. கர்த்தரிடத்துக்குத் தன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் தன் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும் தன் முழு பலத்தோடும் மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்கு ஏற்றபடியெல்லாம் செய்ய மனதைச் சாய்த்தான்; அவனைப் போலொத்த ராஜா அவனுக்குமுன் இருந்ததுமில்லை, அவனுக்குப்பின் எழும்பினதுமில்லை.

25. Like vnto him was there no King before him, that turned to the Lord with al his heart, and with all his soule, and with all his might according to all the Lawe of Moses, neither after him arose there anie like him.

26. ஆகிலும், மனாசே கர்த்தருக்குக் கோபமுண்டாக்கின சகல காரியங்களினிமித்தமும் அவர் யூதாவின்மேல் கொண்ட தம்முடைய மகா கோபத்தின் உக்கிரத்தை விட்டுத் திரும்பாமல்:

26. Notwithstanding the Lord turned not from the fiercenesse of his great wrath wherewith he was angrie against Iudah, because of all the prouocatios wherwith Manasseh had prouoked him.

27. நான் இஸ்ரவேலைத் தள்ளிவிட்டது போல யூதாவையும் என் முகத்தைவிட்டுத் தள்ளி, நான் தெரிந்துகொண்ட இந்த எருசலேம் நகரத்தையும், என் நாமம் விளங்கும் என்று நான் சொன்ன ஆலயத்தையும் வெறுத்துவிடுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொன்னார்.

27. Therefore the Lord saide, I will put Iudah also out of my sight, as I haue put away Israel, and will cast off this citie Ierusalem, which I haue chosen, and the house whereof I said, My name shalbe there.

28. யோசியாவின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவன் செய்தவை யாவும், யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

28. Concerning the rest of the actes of Iosiah, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?

29. அவன் நாட்களில் எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய பார்வோன்நேகோ அசீரியா ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாய் ஐபிராத்து நதிக்குப் போகிறபோது ராஜாவாகிய யோசியா அவனுக்கு எதிராகப் புறப்பட்டான்; பார்வோன்நேகோ அவனை மெகிதோவிலே கண்டபோது, அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.

29. In his dayes Pharaoh Nechoh King of Egypt went vp against the King of Asshur to the riuer Perath. And King Iosiah went against him, whome when Pharaoh sawe, he slewe him at Megiddo.

30. மரணமடைந்த அவனை அவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரர் ரதத்தின்மேல் ஏற்றி, மெகிதோவிலிருந்து எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்து, அவனை அவன் கல்லறையில் அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது தேசத்தின் ஜனங்கள் யோசியாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாகாசை அழைத்து, அவனை அபிஷேகம்பண்ணி, அவன் தகப்பன் ஸ்தானத்தில் அவனை ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள்.

30. Then his seruants caryed him dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Ierusalem, and buried him in his owne sepulchre. And the people of the lande tooke Iehoahaz the sonne of Iosiah, and anointed him, and made him King in his fathers steade.

31. யோவாகாஸ் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்துமூன்று வயதாயிருந்து, மூன்று மாதம் எருசலேமில் அரசாண்டான்; லிப்னா ஊரானாகிய எரேமியாவின் குமாரத்தியான அவன் தாயின் பேர் அமுத்தாள்.

31. Iehoahaz was three and twentie yeere olde when he beganne to reigne, and reigned three moneths in Ierusalem. His mothers name also was Hamutal the daughter of Ieremiah of Libnah.

32. அவன் தன் பிதாக்கள் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

32. And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his fathers had done.

33. அவன் எருசலேமில் அரசாளாதபடிக்கு, பார்வோன்நேகோ அவனை ஆமாத் தேசமான ரிப்லாவிலே பிடித்துக் கட்டுவித்து, தேசத்தின்மேல் நூறு தாலந்து வெள்ளியையும் ஒரு தாலந்து பொன்னையும் அபராதமாகச் சுமத்தி,

33. And Pharaoh Nechoh put him in bondes at Riblah in the lande of Hamath, while he reigned in Ierusalem, and put the lande to a tribute of an hundreth talents of siluer, and a talent of golde.

34. யோசியாவின் குமாரனாகிய எலியாக்கீமை அவன் தகப்பனாகிய யோசியாவின் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவாக வைத்து, அவன் பேரை யோயாக்கீம் என்று மாற்றி, யோவாகாசைக் கொண்டுபோய் விட்டான்; இவன் எகிப்திலே போய் அங்கே மரணமடைந்தான்.

34. And Pharaoh Nechoh made Eliakim the sonne of Iosiah King in steade of Iosiah his father, and turned his name to Iehoiakim, and tooke Iehoahaz away, which when he came to Egypt, dyed there.

35. அந்த வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும் யோயாக்கீம் பார்வோனுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; ஆனாலும் பார்வோனுடைய கட்டளையின்படி அந்தப் பணத்தைக் கொடுக்கும்படி அவன் தேசத்தை மதிப்பிட்டு, அவரவர் மதிப்பின்படி அந்த வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும் பார்வோன்நேகோவுக்குக் கொடுக்கத்தக்கதாக தேசத்து ஜனங்களின் கையிலே தண்டினான்.

35. And Iehoiakim gaue the siluer and the golde to Pharaoh, and taxed the land to giue the money, according to the commadement of Pharaoh: he leuyed of euery man of the people of the lande, according to his value, siluer and golde to giue vnto Pharaoh Nechoh.

36. யோயாக்கீம் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தைந்து வயதாயிருந்து, பதினொருவருஷம் எருசலேமில் அரசாண்டான்; ரூமா ஊரானாகிய பெதாயாமின் குமாரத்தியாகிய அவன் தாயின் பேர் செபுதாள்.

36. Iehoiakim was fiue and twentie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and he reigned eleuen yeeres in Ierusalem. His mothers name also was Zebudah the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah.

37. அவன் தன் பிதாக்கள் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

37. And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his fathers had done.
