1. இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாகாசின் குமாரன் யோவாசுடைய இரண்டாம் வருஷத்திலே யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் குமாரன் அமத்சியா ராஜாவானான்.

1. The second yere of Ioas, sonne of Iehoahaz king of Israel, raigned Amaziahu the sonne of Ioas king of Iuda.

2. அவன் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தைந்து வயதாயிருந்து, எருசலேமிலே இருபத்தொன்பது வருஷம் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணினான்; எருசலேம் நகரத்தாளான அவன் தாயின் பேர் யொவதானாள்.

2. He was twentie and fiue yeres olde when he began to raigne, and raigned twentie and nyne yeres in Hierusalem: and his mothers name was Iehoadan, of Hierusalem.

3. அவன் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதைச் செய்தான்; ஆனாலும் தன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதைப்போலல்ல; தன் தகப்பனாகிய யோவாஸ் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் செய்தான்.

3. And he did that which is good in the sight of the Lorde, yet not lyke Dauid his father: but did according to all thinges as Ioas his father did.

4. மேடைகள் மாத்திரம் அகற்றப்படவில்லை; ஜனங்கள் இன்னும் மேடைகளின்மேல் பலியிட்டுத் தூபங்காட்டி வந்தார்கள்.

4. Neither were the high places taken a way: For as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.

5. ராஜ்யபாரம் அவன் கையிலே ஸ்திரப்பட்டபோது, அவனுடைய தகப்பனாகிய ராஜாவைக் கொன்றுபோட்ட தன் ஊழியக்காரரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.

5. And assoone as the kingdome was setled in his hande, it came to passe, that he slue his seruauntes which had killed the king his father.

6. ஆனாலும் பிள்ளைகளினிமித்தம் பிதாக்கள் கொலைசெய்யப்படாமலும் பிதாக்களினிமித்தம் பிள்ளைகள் கொலைசெய்யப்படாமலும், அவனவன் செய்த பாவத்தினிமித்தம் அவனவன் கொலை செய்யப்படவேண்டும் என்று மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாண புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி, கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்ட பிரகாரம் கொலைசெய்தவர்களின் பிள்ளைகளை அவன் கொல்லாதிருந்தான்.

6. But the children of those murtherers he slue not, according vnto it that is written in the booke of the law of Moyses, wherein the Lorde commaunded, saying: Let not the fathers dye for the children, nor let the children be slaine for the fathers: but let euery man be put to death for his owne sinne.

7. அவன் உப்புப்பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே ஏதோமியரில் பதினாயிரம்பேரை மடங்கடித்து, யுத்தஞ்செய்து சேலாவைப் பிடித்து, அதற்கு இந்நாள் வரைக்கும் இருக்கிற யொக்தியேல் என்னும் பேரைத் தரித்தான்.

7. He slue of Edom in the salt valley ten thousand, and toke the castell on the rocke in the same battaile, and called the name of it Ioktheel vnto this day.

8. அப்பொழுது அமத்சியா யெகூவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாகாசின் குமாரன் யோவாஸ் என்னும் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவிடத்தில் ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பி: நம்முடைய சாமர்த்தியத்தைப் பார்ப்போம் வா என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னான்.

8. Then Amaziahu sent messengers to Iehoas the sonne of Iehoahaz sonne of Iehu king of Israel, saying: Come, let vs see eche other.

9. அதற்கு இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய அமத்சியாவுக்கு ஆள் அனுப்பி: லீபனோனிலுள்ள முட்செடியானது, லீபனோனிலுள்ள கேதுரு மரத்தை நோக்கி, நீ உன் மகளை என் மகனுக்கு மனைவியாக விவாகஞ் செய்துகொடு என்று சொல்லச்சொல்லிற்று; ஆனாலும் லீபனோனிலுள்ள ஒரு காட்டுமிருகம் அந்த வழி போகையில் ஓடி அந்த முட்செடியை மிதித்துப் போட்டது.

9. And Iehoas the king of Israel sent to Amaziahu king of Iuda, saying: Did not a thistle that is in Libanon, send to a Cedar tree that is in Libanon, saying: Geue thy daughter to my sonne to wife? And the wilde beast that was in Libanon went and trode downe the thystle.

10. நீ ஏதோமியரை முறிய அடித்ததினால் உன் இருதயம் உன்னைக் கர்வங்கொள்ளப்பண்ணினது; நீ பெருமை பாராட்டிக்கொண்டு உன் வீட்டிலே இரு; நீயும் உன்னோடேகூட யூதாவும் விழும்படிக்கு, பொல்லாப்பைத் தேடிக்கொள்வானேன் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.

10. Thou hast smitten Edom, thyne heart hath made thee proude: Enioye this glory, & tarry at home: Why doest thou prouoke to mischiefe, that thou shouldest be ouerthrowen & Iuda with thee?

11. ஆனாலும் அமத்சியா செவிகொடாதேபோனான்; ஆகையால், இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் வந்தான்; யூதாவிலுள்ள பெத்ஷிமேசிலே அவனும், யூதாவின் ராஜா அமத்சியாவும், தங்கள் சாமர்த்தியத்தைப் பார்க்கிறபோது,

11. But Amaziahu would not heare: And Iehoas king of Israel went vp, and he and Amaziahu king of Iuda, sawe either other at Bethsames, which is in Iuda.

12. யூதா ஜனங்கள் இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு முன்பாக முறிந்து அவரவர் தங்கள் கூடாரங்களுக்கு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.

12. And Iuda was put to the worse before Israel, and they fled euery man to their tentes.

13. அகசியாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாசின் குமாரன் அமத்சியா என்னும் யூதாவின் ராஜாவையோ, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் பெத்ஷிமேசிலே பிடித்து, எருசலேமுக்கு வந்து, எருசலேமின் அலங்கத்திலே எப்பிராயீம் வாசல் தொடங்கி மூலைவாசல்மட்டும் நானூறு முழ நீளம் இடித்துப்போட்டு,

13. And Iehoas king of Israel toke Amaziahu king of Iuda the sonne of Iehoas the sonne of Ahaziahu at Bethsames, and came to Hierusalem, & brake downe the wall of Hierusalem, from the gate of Ephraim, to the corner gate, foure hundred cubites.

14. கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலும் ராஜாவுடைய அரமனைப் பொக்கிஷங்களிலும் அகப்பட்ட பொன் வெள்ளி யாவையும், சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும், கிரியிருப்பவர்களையும் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு சமாரியாவுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போனான்.

14. And he toke all the golde and siluer, and all the vessels that were founde in the house of the Lorde, and in the treasures of the kinges house: and the children toke he to be his wardes, and returned to Samaria againe.

15. யோவாஸ் செய்த மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவனுடைய வல்லமையும், அவன் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய அமத்சியாவோடு யுத்தம்பண்ணின விதமும், இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

15. The rest of the actes of Iehoas which he did, and his power, & how he fought with Amaziahu king of Iuda, are they not written in the booke of the cronicles of the kinges of Israel?

16. யோவாஸ் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின், சமாரியாவில் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாக்களண்டையிலே அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாம் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

16. And Iehoas slept with his fathers, and was buried at Samaria among the kinges of Israel, & Ieroboam his sonne raigned in his steade.

17. இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாகாசின் குமாரன் யோவாஸ் மரணமடைந்தபின், யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் குமாரன் அமத்சியா பதினைந்துவருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்தான்.

17. Amaziahu the sonne of Ioas king of Iuda, liued after the death of Iehoas sonne of Iehoahaz king of Israel fifteene yeres.

18. அமத்சியாவின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்கள் யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

18. And the remnaunt of the wordes that concerne Amaziahu, are they not written in the booke of the cronicles of the kinges of Iuda?

19. எருசலேமிலே அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கட்டுப்பாடு பண்ணினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது லாகீசுக்கு ஓடிப்போனான்; ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் அவன் பிறகே லாகீசுக்கு மனுஷரை அனுப்பி, அங்கே அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டு,

19. But they conspired treason against him in Hierusalem: And when he fled to Lachis, they sent after him to Lachis, and slue him there.

20. குதிரைகள்மேல் அவனை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; அவன் எருசலேமில் இருக்கிற தாவீதின் நகரத்திலே தன் பிதாக்களண்டையிலே அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான்.

20. And they brought him on horses, and he was buried at Hierusalem with his fathers in the citie of Dauid.

21. யூதா ஜனங்கள் யாவரும் பதினாறு வயதுள்ள அசரியாவை அழைத்து வந்து அவனை அவன் தகப்பனாகிய அமத்சியாவின் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள்.

21. And all the people of Iuda toke Azaria (which was sixteene yeres olde) and made him king for his father Amaziahu.

22. ராஜா தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின்பு, இவன் ஏலாதைக் கட்டி, அதைத் திரும்ப யூதாவின் வசமாக்கிக்கொண்டான்.

22. He built Elath, and brought it againe to Iuda after that the king was layde to rest with his fathers.

23. யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் குமாரன் அமத்சியாவின் பதினைந்தாம்வருஷத்தில், இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் குமாரன் யெரொபெயாம் ராஜாவாகி சமாரியாவில் நாற்பத்தொரு வருஷம் அரசாண்டு,

23. In the fifteenth yere of Amaziahu the sonne of Ioas king of Iuda, was Ieroboam the sonne of Ioas made king ouer Israel in Samaria, and raigned fourtie and one yeres:

24. கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்; இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவஞ்செய்யப்பண்ணின நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் பாவங்கள் ஒன்றையும் அவன் விட்டு விலகவில்லை.

24. And wrought that which was euill in the sight of the Lorde, neither turned he away from all the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nabat which made Israel to sinne.

25. காத்தேப்பேர் ஊரானாகிய அமித்தாய் என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியின் குமாரன் யோனா என்னும் தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரனைக்கொண்டு இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லியிருந்த வார்த்தையின்படியே, அவன் ஆமாத்தின் எல்லை முதற்கொண்டு சமபூமியின் கடல்மட்டுமுள்ள இஸ்ரவேலின் எல்லைகளைத் திரும்பச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டான்.

25. He restored the coast of Israel from the entring of Hemath vnto the sea of the wildernesse, according to the worde of the Lorde God of Israel which he spake by the hande of his seruaunt Ionas the sonne of Amithai the prophete, which was of Geth Hepher:

26. இஸ்ரவேலின் உபத்திரவம் மிகவும் கொடிது என்றும், அடைபட்டவனுமில்லை, விடுபட்டவனுமில்லை, இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு ஒத்தாசை செய்கிறவனுமில்லை என்றும் கர்த்தர் பார்த்தார்.

26. For the Lorde sawe howe that the affliction of Israel was exceeding bytter, insomuch that the prisoned and the forsaken were at an ende, and there was none to helpe Israel.

27. இஸ்ரவேலின் பேரை வானத்தின் கீழிருந்து குலைத்துப்போடுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லாமல், யோவாசின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் கையால் அவர்களை இரட்சித்தார்.

27. And the Lorde saide not that he would put out the name of Israel from vnder heauen: but he helped them by the hande of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioas.

28. யெரொபெயாமின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவன் செய்தவை யாவும், அவன் யுத்தம்பண்ணி, யூதாவுக்கு இருந்த தமஸ்குவையும் ஆமாத்தையும் இஸ்ரவேலுக்காகத் திரும்பச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்ட அவனுடைய வல்லமையும், இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

28. The rest of the wordes that concerne Ieroboam, and all that he did, and his strength, and howe he fought in the warres, & howe he restored Damascon & Hemath to Iuda in Israel, are they not written in the booke of the cronicles of the kinges of Israel?

29. யெரொபெயாம் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாக்களாகிய தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின், அவன் குமாரனாகிய சகரியா அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

29. And Ieroboam slept with his fathers, euen with the kinges of Israel, & Zacharia his sonne raigned in his steade.
