1. அப்பொழுது அன்னாள் ஜெபம்பண்ணி: என் இருதயம் கர்த்தருக்குள் களிகூருகிறது; என் கொம்பு கர்த்தருக்குள் உயர்ந்திருக்கிறது; என் பகைஞரின்மேல் என் வாய் திறந்திருக்கிறது; உம்முடைய இரட்சிப்பினாலே சந்தோஷப்படுகிறேன்.
லூக்கா 1:46-47

1. And Hanna prayed, & sayde: Myne heart reioyceth in the Lorde, and myne horne is exalted in the Lorde: My mouth is wyde open ouer myne enemies, for I reioyce in thy saluation.

2. கர்த்தரைப்போலப் பரிசுத்தமுள்ளவர் இல்லை; உம்மையல்லாமல் வேறொருவரும் இல்லை; எங்கள் தேவனைப்போல ஒரு கன்மலையும் இல்லை.

2. There is none holy as the Lorde: for without thee is nothing, neither is there any of strength as is our God.

3. இனி மேட்டிமையான பேச்சைப் பேசாதிருங்கள்; அகந்தையான பேச்சு உங்கள் வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படவேண்டாம்; கர்த்தர் ஞானமுள்ள தேவன்; அவர் செய்கைகள் யதார்த்தமல்லவோ?

3. Talke no more proudly, let not arrogancie come out of your mouthes: for the Lorde is a God of knowledge, and his purposes come to passe.

4. பலவான்களின் வில் முறிந்தது; தள்ளாடினவர்களோ பலத்தினால் இடைகட்டப்பட்டார்கள்.

4. The bowe with the mightie men are broken, and they that were weake haue gyrde them selues with strength.

5. திருப்தியாயிருந்தவர்கள் அப்பத்துக்காக கூலிவேலை செய்கிறார்கள்; பசியாயிருந்தவர்களோ இனிப்பசியாயிரார்கள்; மலடியாயிருந்தவள் ஏழு பெற்றாள்; அநேகம் பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றவளோ பலட்சயப்பட்டாள்.

5. They that were full, haue hyred out them selues for bread, and they that were hungry, ceasse, tyll the barren hath borne seuen, and she that had many children, is waxed feeble.

6. கர்த்தர் கொல்லுகிறவரும் உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிறார்; அவரே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கவும் அதிலிருந்து ஏறவும்பண்ணுகிறவர்.

6. The Lord kylleth and maketh alyue, bryngeth downe to the graue & fetcheth vp agayne.

7. கர்த்தர் தரித்திரம் அடையச்செய்கிறவரும், ஐசுவரியம் அடையப்பண்ணுகிறவருமாயிருக்கிறார்; அவர் தாழ்த்துகிறவரும், உயர்த்துகிறவருமானவர்.

7. The Lord maketh poore, and maketh ryche, bringeth lowe, and heaueth vp on hye.

8. அவர் சிறியவனைப் புழுதியிலிருந்து எடுத்து, எளியவனைக் குப்பையிலிருந்து உயர்த்துகிறார்; அவர்களைப் பிரபுக்களோடே உட்காரவும், மகிமையுள்ள சிங்காசனத்தைச் சுதந்தரிக்கவும் பண்ணுகிறார்; பூமியின் அஸ்திபாரங்கள் கர்த்தருடையவைகள்; அவரே அவைகளின்மேல் பூச்சக்கரத்தை வைத்தார்.

8. He rayseth vp the poore out of the dust, and lyfteth vp the beggar from the dounghyll, to set them among princes, and to make them inherite the seate of glory: For the pyllers of the earth are the lordes, and he hath set the worlde vpon them.

9. அவர் தமது பரிசுத்தவான்களின் பாதங்களைக் காப்பார்; துன்மார்க்கர் இருளிலே மௌனமாவார்கள்; பெலத்தினால் ஒருவனும் மேற்கொள்வதில்லை.

9. He wyll kepe the feete of his saintes, and the wicked shall kepe scilence in darknesse, and in his owne myght shal no man be strong.

10. கர்த்தரோடே வழக்காடுகிறவர்கள் நொறுக்கப்படுவார்கள்; வானத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள்மேல் முழங்குவார்; கர்த்தர் பூமியின் கடையாந்தரங்களை நியாயந்தீர்த்து, தாம் ஏற்படுத்தின ராஜாவுக்குப் பெலன் அளித்து, தாம் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினவரின் கொம்பை உயரப்பண்ணுவார் என்று துதித்தாள்.

10. The lordes aduersaries shal be destroyed of hym, & out of heauen shall he thunder vpon them: The Lorde shall iudge the endes of the worlde, and shall gyue myght vnto his king, and exalt the horne of his annoynted.

11. பின்பு எல்க்கானா ராமாவிலிருக்கிற தன் வீட்டுக்குப்போனான்; அந்தப் பிள்ளையோ, ஆசாரியனாகிய ஏலிக்கு முன்பாகக் கர்த்தருக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்துகொண்டிருந்தான்.

11. And Elkana went to Ramath to his house, and the lad dyd minister vnto the Lorde before Eli the priest.

12. ஏலியின் குமாரர் பேலியாளின் மக்களாயிருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை அறியவில்லை.

12. But the sonnes of Eli were children of Belial, and knewe not the Lord.

13. அந்த ஆசாரியர்கள் ஜனங்களை நடப்பித்த விதம் என்னவென்றால், எவனாகிலும் ஒரு பலியைச் செலுத்துங்காலத்தில் இறைச்சி வேகும்போது, ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரன் மூன்று கூறுள்ள ஒரு ஆயுதத்தைத் தன் கையிலே பிடித்துவந்து,

13. And the priestes custome toward the people was, that whensoeuer any man offered any offring, ye priestes lad came whyle the fleshe was a seethyng, and a fleshhoke with three teeth in his hande:

14. அதினாலே, கொப்பரையிலாவது பானையிலாவது சருவத்திலாவது சட்டியிலாவது குத்துவான்; அந்த ஆயுதத்தில் வருகிறதையெல்லாம் ஆசாரியன் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளுவான்; அப்படி அங்கே சீலோவிலே வருகிற இஸ்ரவேலருக்கெல்லாம் செய்தார்கள்.

14. And thrust it into the panne, kettle, caldren, or pot: and all that the fleshehoke brought vp, that the priest toke for hym self: And so they dyd vnto all the Israelites that came thyther to Silo.

15. கொழுப்பைத் தகனிக்கிறதற்கு முன்னும், ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரன் வந்து பலியிடுகிற மனுஷனை நோக்கி: ஆசாரியனுக்குப் பொரிக்கும்படி இறைச்சிகொடு; பச்சை இறைச்சியே அல்லாமல், அவித்ததை உன் கையிலே வாங்குகிறதில்லை என்பான்.

15. Yea, and thereto before they burnt the fat, the priestes lad came and sayde to the man that offered, Geue fleshe, that I may roste it for the priest: for he wyll not haue sodde fleshe of thee, but rawe.

16. அதற்கு அந்த மனுஷன்: இன்று செய்யவேண்டியபடி முதலாவது கொழுப்பைத் தகனித்துவிடட்டும்; பிற்பாடு உன் மனவிருப்பத்தின்படி எடுத்துக்கொள் என்று சொன்னாலும்; அவன்: அப்படியல்ல, இப்பொழுதே கொடு, இல்லாவிட்டால் பலவந்தமாய் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளுவேன் என்பான்.

16. And yf any man sayde vnto hym, Let them burne the fat according to the custome, and then take as much as thyne hearte desireth: Then he would aunswere hym, Yea, thou shalt geue it me nowe: and if thou wilt not, I wyll take it with violence.

17. ஆதலால் அந்த வாலிபரின் பாவம் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் மிகவும் பெரிதாயிருந்தது; மனுஷர் கர்த்தரின் காணிக்கையை வெறுப்பாய் எண்ணினார்கள்.

17. And the sinne of the young men was very great before the Lord: For men abhorred the offering of the Lord.

18. சாமுவேல் என்னும் பிள்ளையாண்டான் சணல்நூல் ஏபோத்தைத் தரித்தவனாய்க் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகப் பணிவிடை செய்தான்.

18. But the childe Samuel ministred before the Lorde, girded with a linnen Ephod.

19. அவனுடைய தாய் வருஷந்தோறும் செலுத்தும் பலியைச் செலுத்துகிறதற்காக, தன் புருஷனோடேகூட வருகிறபோதெல்லாம், அவனுக்கு ஒரு சின்னச் சட்டையைத் தைத்துக் கொண்டு வருவாள்.

19. Moreouer, his mother made him a litle coate, and brought it to him from yere to yere, when she came vp with her husband to offer the yerely sacrifice.

20. ஏலி எல்க்கானாவையும் அவன் மனைவியையும் ஆசீர்வதித்து: இந்த ஸ்திரீ கர்த்தருக்கென்று ஒப்புக் கொடுத்ததற்குப் பதிலாகக் கர்த்தர் உனக்கு அவளாலே சந்தானம் கட்டளையிடுவாராக என்றான்; அவர்கள் தங்கள் ஸ்தானத்திற்குத் திரும்பப் போய்விட்டார்கள்.

20. And Eli blessed Elkana and his wife, and said: The Lorde geue thee seede of this woman, for the petition that she asked of the Lord. And they went vnto their owne home.

21. அப்படியே கர்த்தர் அன்னாளைக் கடாட்சித்தார்; அவள் கர்ப்பந்தரித்து மூன்று குமாரரையும் இரண்டு குமாரத்திகளையும் பெற்றாள்; சாமுவேல் என்னும் பிள்ளையாண்டான் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியிலே வளர்ந்தான்.

21. And the Lorde visited Hanna, so that she conceaued, and bare three sonnes, & two daughters: And the childe Samuel grew before the Lorde.

22. ஏலி மிகுந்த கிழவனாயிருந்தான்; அவன் தன் குமாரர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கெல்லாம் செய்கிற எல்லாவற்றையும், அவர்கள் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தின் வாசலில் கூட்டங்கூடுகிற ஸ்திரீகளோடே சயனிக்கிறதையும் கேள்விப்பட்டு,

22. Eli was very olde, and heard all that his sonnes did vnto Israel, & how they lay with the women that wayted at the doore of the tabernacle of the congregation.

23. அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியங்களைச் செய்கிறது என்ன? இந்த ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் உங்கள் பொல்லாத நடக்கைகளைச் சொல்லக்கேட்கிறேன்.

23. And he saide vnto them: Why do ye such thinges? For of all these people I heare euill reportes of you.

24. என் குமாரரே, வேண்டாம்; நான் கேள்விப்படுகிற இந்தச் செய்தி நல்லதல்ல; கர்த்தருடைய ஜனங்கள் மீறி நடக்கிறதற்குக் காரணமாயிருக்கிறீர்களே.

24. Oh, nay my sonnes: For it is no good report that I heare, how that ye make the Lordes people to trespasse.

25. மனுஷனுக்கு விரோதமாக மனுஷன் பாவஞ்செய்தால், நியாயாதிபதிகள் அதைத் தீர்ப்பார்கள்; ஒருவன் கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்வானேயாகில், அவனுக்காக விண்ணப்பஞ்செய்யத்தக்கவன் யார் என்றான்; அவர்களோ தங்கள் தகப்பன் சொல்லைக்கேளாமற்போனார்கள்; அவர்களைச் சங்கரிக்கக் கர்த்தர் சித்தமாயிருந்தார்.

25. If one man sinne against another, the Iudge shall iudge it: But if a man sinne against the Lord, who will be his dayseman? Notwithstandiug, they hearkened not vnto the voyce of their father, because the Lorde would slay the.

26. சாமுவேல் என்னும் பிள்ளையாண்டானோ, பெரியவனாக வளர்ந்து, கர்த்தருக்கும் மனுஷருக்கும் பிரியமாக நடந்துகொண்டான்.

26. (The childe Samuel profited & grew, and was in fauour both with the Lord and also with men.)

27. தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் ஒருவன் ஏலியினிடத்தில் வந்து: கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறது என்னவென்றால், உன் பிதாவின் வீட்டார் எகிப்திலே பார்வோனின் வீட்டில் இருக்கையில், நான் என்னை அவர்களுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தி,

27. And there came a man of God vnto Eli, and sayde vnto hym, thus saith the Lorde: Dyd not I playnely appeare vnto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaos house?

28. என் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் பலியிடவும், தூபங்காட்டவும், என் சமுகத்தில் ஏபோத்தைத் தரிக்கவும், இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களிலெல்லாம் அவனை எனக்கு ஆசாரியனாகத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, உன் பிதாவின் வீட்டாருக்கு இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய தகனபலிகளையெல்லாம் கொடுக்கவில்லையா?

28. And I chose him out of al the tribes of Israel to be my priest, for to offer vppon mine aulter, and to burne incense, and to weare an Ephod before me: and I gaue vnto the house of thy father, all the offerynges made by fire of the chyldren of Israel.

29. என் வாசஸ்தலத்திலே செலுத்தும்படி நான் கட்டளையிட்ட என் பலியையும், என் காணிக்கையையும், நீங்கள் உதைப்பானேன்? என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின் காணிக்கைகளிலெல்லாம் பிரதானமானவைகளைக்கொண்டு உங்களைக் கொழுக்கப்பண்ணும்படிக்கு, நீ என்னைப்பார்க்கிலும் உன் குமாரரை மதிப்பானேன் என்கிறார்.

29. Wherfore treade ye downe my sacrifice and mine offering which I comaunded in the tabernacle, and honorest thy chyldren aboue me, to make your selues fat of the first fruites of all the offerynges of Israel my people?

30. ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறதாவது: உன் வீட்டாரும் உன் பிதாவின் வீட்டாரும் என்றைக்கும் என் சந்நிதியில் நடந்து கொள்வார்கள் என்று நான் நிச்சயமாய்ச் சொல்லியிருந்தும், இனி அது எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக; என்னைக் கனம்பண்ணுகிறவர்களை நான் கனம் பண்ணுவேன்; என்னை அசட்டை பண்ணுகிறவர்கள் கனவீனப்படுவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

30. Wherefore the Lorde God of Israel saith: I sayde, that thy house and the house of thy father should walke before me for euer: But nowe the Lorde saith, That be farre fro me: For them that worship me, I wyll worship, and they that despise me, shall come to shame.

31. உன் வீட்டில் ஒரு கிழவனும் இராதபடிக்கு உன் புயத்தையும் உன் பிதாவின் வீட்டாருடைய புயத்தையும் நான் தறித்துப்போடும் நாட்கள் வரும்.

31. Behold, the dayes come, that I wyll cut of thine arme, and the arme of thy fathers house, that there shall not be an olde man in thine house.

32. இஸ்ரவேலுக்குச் செய்யப்படும் சகல நன்மைக்கும் மாறாக என் வாசஸ்தலத்திலே உபத்திரவத்தைக் காண்பாய்; ஒருபோதும் உன் வீட்டில் ஒரு கிழவனும் இருப்பதில்லை.

32. And thou shalt see thine enemie in the habitation [of the Lorde] and in all the wealth which [God] shall geue Israel, and there shall not be an olde man in thyne house for euer.

33. என் பலிபீடத்தில் சேவிக்க, நான் உன் சந்ததியில் நிர்மூலமாக்காதவர்களோ, உன் கண்களைப் பூத்துப்போகப்பண்ணவும், உன் ஆத்துமாவை வேதனைப்படுத்தவும் வைக்கப்படுவார்கள்; உன் வம்சத்திலுள்ள யாவரும் வாலவயதிலே சாவார்கள்.

33. Neuerthelesse, I wyll not destroy euery one that come of thee from mine aulter, to make thine eyes to fayle, and to make thine heart sorowfull: And all they that be multiplied in thine house, shall dye [when they be] men.

34. ஓப்னி பினெகாஸ் என்னும் உன் இரண்டு குமாரரின்மேல் வருவதே உனக்கு அடையாளமாயிருக்கும்; அவர்கள் இருவரும் ஒரே நாளில் சாவார்கள்.

34. And this shalbe a signe vnto thee, that shal come vpon thy two sonnes Hophni and Phinehes: euen in one day they shall dye both.

35. நான் என் உள்ளத்துக்கும் என் சித்தத்துக்கும் ஏற்றபடி செய்யத்தக்க உண்மையான ஒரு ஆசாரியனை எழும்பப்பண்ணி, அவனுக்கு நிலையான வீட்டைக் கட்டுவேன்; அவன் என்னால் அபிஷேகம் பண்ணப்பட்டவனுக்கு முன்பாகச் சகல நாளும் நடந்துகொள்ளுவான்.

35. And I wyll stirre me vp a faythfull priest, yt shall do according to my heart and minde, and I wil builde him a sure house, and he shall walke before mine annoynted for euer.

36. அப்பொழுது உன் வீட்டாரில் மீதியாயிருப்பவன் எவனும் ஒரு வெள்ளிப் பணத்துக்காகவும் ஒரு அப்பத்துணிக்கைக்காகவும் அவனிடத்தில் வந்து பணிந்து: நான் கொஞ்சம் அப்பம் சாப்பிட யாதொரு ஆசாரிய ஊழியத்தில் என்னைச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளும் என்று கெஞ்சுவான் என்று சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.

36. And all that are left in thyne house, shall come and crouch to him for a peece of siluer and a morsell of bread, and shal saye: Put me (I pray thee) in one office or other among ye priestes, that I may eate a morsell of bread.
