1. ஒரு நாள் சவுலின் குமாரனாகிய யோனத்தான் தன் ஆயுததாரியாகிய வாலிபனை நோக்கி: நமக்கு எதிராக அந்தப் பக்கத்தில் இருக்கிற பெலிஸ்தரின் தாணையத்திற்குப் போவோம் வா என்று சொன்னான்; அதை அவன் தன் தகப்பனுக்கு அறிவிக்கவில்லை.

1. And it came about, on a certain day, that Jonathan son of Saul said unto the young man bearing his armour: Come! and let us pass over unto the garrison of the Philistines, that is on the other side, yonder! but, to his father, he told it not.

2. சவுல் கிபியாவின் கடைசி முனையாகிய மிக்ரோனிலே ஒரு மாதளமரத்தின்கீழ் இருந்தான்; அவனோடேகூட இருந்த ஜனங்கள் ஏறக்குறைய அறுநூறுபேராயிருந்தார்கள்.

2. Now, Saul, was tarrying in the uttermost part of Gibeah, under the pomegranate tree that is in Migron, and, the people that were with him, were about six hundred men;

3. சீலோவிலே கர்த்தருடைய ஆசாரியனாயிருந்த ஏலியின் குமாரனாகிய பினெகாசுக்குப் பிறந்த இக்கபோத்தின் சகோதரனும், அகிதூபின் குமாரனுமாகிய அகியா என்பவன் ஏபோத்தைத் தரித்தவனாயிருந்தான்; யோனத்தான் போனதை ஜனங்கள் அறியாதிருந்தார்கள்.

3. and, Ahijah, son of Ahitub, brother of Ichabod, son of Phinehas, son of Eli, was priest of Yahweh in Shiloh, wearing an ephod, and, the people, knew not that Jonathan had departed.

4. And, between the passes by which Jonathan sought to cross over up to the garrison of the Philistines, there was a crag of rock on the one side, and a crag of rock on the other side; and, the name of the one, was Bozez, and the name of the other, Seneh.

5. The one crag, was a pillar on the north, over against Michmash, and, the other, on the south, over against Geba.

6. யோனத்தான் தன் ஆயுததாரியாகிய வாலிபனை நோக்கி: விருத்தசேதனம் இல்லாதவர்களுடைய அந்தத் தாணையத்திற்குப் போவோம் வா; ஒருவேளை கர்த்தர் நமக்காக ஒரு காரியம் செய்வார்; அநேகம் பேரைக்கொண்டாகிலும், கொஞ்சம்பேரைக்கொண்டாகிலும், இரட்சிக்கக் கர்த்தருக்குத் தடையில்லை என்றான்.

6. So Jonathan said unto the young man bearing his armour Come! and let us cross over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised, peradventure, Yahweh may work by us, for there is no restraint with Yahweh, to save by many, or by few.

7. அப்பொழுது அவன் ஆயுததாரி அவனைப் பார்த்து: உம்முடைய இருதயத்தில் இருக்கிறபடியெல்லாம் செய்யும்; அப்படியே போம்; இதோ, உம்முடைய மனதுக்கு ஏற்றபடி நானும் உம்மோடேகூட வருகிறேன் என்றான்.

7. And his armour-bearer said to him, Do all that is in thy heart, decide for thyself (lo! I am with thee!), according to thine own heart.

8. அதற்கு யோனத்தான்: இதோ, நாம் கடந்து, அந்த மனுஷரிடத்திற்குப் போகிறவர்கள்போல அவர்களுக்கு நம்மைக் காண்பிப்போம்.

8. Then said Jonathan, Lo! we, are crossing over unto the men, and will discover ourselves unto them.

9. நாங்கள் உங்களிடத்துக்கு வருமட்டும் நில்லுங்கள் என்று நம்மோடே சொல்வார்களானால், நாம் அவர்களிடத்துக்கு ஏறிப்போகாமல், நம்முடைய நிலையிலே நிற்போம்.

9. If, thus, they say unto us, Keep quiet until we get to you, then will we stand still where we are, and will not go up unto them;

10. எங்களிடத்துக்கு ஏறி வாருங்கள் என்று சொல்வார்களானால், ஏறிப்போவோம்; கர்த்தர் அவர்களை நம்முடைய கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்; இது நமக்கு அடையாளம் என்றான்.

10. but, if thus, they say, Come up unto us, then will we go up; for Yahweh hath delivered them into our hand, This, then, is our sign.

11. அப்படியே அவர்கள் இருவரும் பெலிஸ்தரின் தாணையத்திற்குமுன் தங்களைக் காண்பித்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தர்: இதோ, எபிரெயர் ஒளித்துக்கொண்டிருந்த வளைகளைவிட்டுப் புறப்படுகிறார்கள் என்று சொல்லி,

11. So they two discovered themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines, and the Philistines said Lo! Hebrews, coming forth out of the holes, wherein they had hidden themselves.

12. தாணையம் இருக்கிற மனுஷர் யோனத்தானையும் அவன் ஆயுததாரியையும் பார்த்து: எங்களிடத்துக்கு ஏறிவாருங்கள், உங்களுக்குப் புத்தி கற்பிப்போம் என்றார்கள்; அப்பொழுது யோனத்தான் தன் ஆயுததாரியை நோக்கி: என் பின்னாலே ஏறிவா, கர்த்தர் அவர்களை இஸ்ரவேலின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார் என்று சொல்லி,

12. And the men of the garrison responded to Jonathan and his armour-bearer, and said Come up unto us, and we will let you know a thing. Then said Jonathan unto his armour-bearer Come up after me, for Yahweh hath delivered them into the hand of Israel.

13. யோனத்தான் தன் கைகளாலும் தன் கால்களாலும் தவழ்ந்து ஏறினான்; அவன் ஆயுததாரி அவன் பின்னாலே ஏறினான்; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் யோனத்தானுக்கு முன்பாக மடிந்து விழுந்தார்கள்; அவன் ஆயுததாரியும் அவன் பின்னாலே வெட்டிக்கொண்டே போனான்.

13. So Jonathan went up on his hands and on his feet, and, his armour-bearer, followed him, and they fell before Jonathan, and, his armour-bearer, was slaying after him.

14. யோனத்தானும் அவன் ஆயுததாரியும் அடித்த அந்த முந்தின அடியிலே ஏறக்குறைய இருபதுபேர் அரையேர் நிலமான விசாலத்திலே விழுந்தார்கள்.

14. And the first smiting wherewith Jonathan and his armour-bearer smote, was about twenty men, within, as it were, half a furrow's length of a yoke of land.

15. அப்பொழுது பாளயத்திலும் வெளியிலும், சகல ஜனங்களிலும், பயங்கரம் உண்டாகி, தாணையம் இருந்தவர்களும் கொள்ளையிடப்போன தண்டிலுள்ளவர்களுங்கூடத் திகில் அடைந்தார்கள்; பூமியும் அதிர்ந்தது; அது தேவனால் உண்டான பயங்கரமாயிருந்தது.

15. And there came to be a trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people, the outposts and the spoilers, they too, trembled, and the earth quaked, so it became a preternatural trembling.

16. பென்யமீன் நாட்டிலுள்ள கிபியாவிலே சவுலுக்கு இருந்த ஜாமக்காரர் பார்த்து: இதோ, அந்த ஏராளமான கூட்டம் கலைந்து, ஒருவர்மேல் ஒருவர் விழுகிறதைக் கண்டார்கள்.

16. And the scouts of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked, and lo! the camp, melted away, hither and thither.

17. அப்பொழுது சவுல் தன்னோடேகூட இருக்கிற ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: நம்மிடத்திலிருந்து போனவர்கள் யார் என்று இலக்கம் பாருங்கள் என்றான்; அவர்கள் இலக்கம் பார்க்கிறபோது, இதோ, யோனத்தானும் அவன் ஆயுததாரியும் அங்கே இல்லை என்று கண்டார்கள்.

17. Then said Saul unto the people who were with him: Number, I pray you, and see who hath departed from us. So they numbered; and lo! Jonathan and his armour-bearer were missing.

18. அப்பொழுது சவுல் அகீயாவை நோக்கி: தேவனுடைய பெட்டியைக் கொண்டுவா என்றான்; தேவனுடைய பெட்டி அந்நாட்களில் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரிடத்தில் இருந்தது.

18. Then said Saul unto Ahijah, Bring near the ark of God; for the ark of God was, on that day, in the midst of the sons of Israel.

19. இப்படிச் சவுல் ஆசாரியனோடே பேசுகையில், பெலிஸ்தரின் பாளயத்தில் உண்டான கலகம் வரவர அதிகரித்தது; அப்பொழுது சவுல் ஆசாரியனைப் பார்த்து: இருக்கட்டும் என்றான்.

19. And it came to pass, as soon as Saul had spoken unto the priest, that, the tumultuous noise that was in the camp of the Philistines, went on and on, increasing. Then said Saul unto the priest, Withdraw thy hand.

20. சவுலும் அவனோடிருந்த ஜனங்களும் கூட்டங்கூடிப் போர்க்களத்திற்குப் போனார்கள்; ஒருவர் பட்டயம் ஒருவருக்கு விரோதமாயிருந்தபடியால் மகா அமளியுண்டாயிற்று.

20. And Saul and all the people that were with him gathered themselves together, and came as far as the host, and lo! the sword of every man was against his fellow, an exceeding great confusion.

21. இதற்குமுன் பெலிஸ்தருடன் கூடி அவர்களோடேகூடப் பாளயத்திலே திரிந்துவந்த எபிரெயரும், சவுலோடும் யோனத்தானோடும் இருக்கிற இஸ்ரவேலரோடே கூடிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

21. And, the Hebrews who had aforetime belonged to the Philistines, who had come up with them in the host, even they, turned round so as to be with Israel who were with Saul and Jonathan.

22. எப்பிராயீம் மலைகளில் ஒளித்துக்கொண்டிருந்த சகல இஸ்ரவேலரும் பெலிஸ்தர் முறிந்தோடுகிறதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, யுத்தத்திலே அவர்களை நெருங்கித் தொடர்ந்தார்கள்.

22. And, all the men of Israel who had hidden themselves throughout the hill country of Ephraim, heard that the Philistines had fled, and, they also, followed hard after them in the battle.

23. இப்படிக் கர்த்தர் அன்றையதினம் இஸ்ரவேலை இரட்சித்தார்; அந்த யுத்தம் பெத்தாவேன் மட்டும் நடந்தது.

23. Thus did Yahweh, on that day, save Israel, and, the battle, passed over by Beth-aven.

24. இஸ்ரவேலர் அன்றையதினம் மிகுந்த வருத்தம் அடைந்தார்கள்; நான் என் சத்தருக்கள் கையிலே பழிவாங்கவேண்டும், சாயங்காலமட்டும் பொறுக்காமல் எவன் போஜனம் செய்கிறானோ, அவன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன் என்று சவுல் ஜனங்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டுச் சொல்லியிருந்தபடியால், ஜனங்களில் ஒருவரும் எவ்வளவேனும் போஜனம்பண்ணாதிருந்தார்கள்.

24. Now, the men of Israel, were tired out on that day, yet had Saul bound the people by an oath, saying Cursed, be the man that eateth food until the evening, and I be avenged upon mine enemies. So none of the people had tasted food.

25. தேசத்து ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் ஒரு காட்டிலே வந்தார்கள்; அங்கே வெளியிலே தேன்கூடு கட்டியிருந்தது.

25. And, all the land, had entered into the forest, and there was honey upon the face of the ground.

26. ஜனங்கள் காட்டிலே வந்தபோது, இதோ, தேன் ஒழுகிக்கொண்டிருந்தது; ஆனாலும் ஒருவனும் அதைத் தன் கையினாலே தொட்டுத் தன் வாயில் வைக்கவில்லை; ஜனங்கள் அந்த ஆணையினிமித்தம் பயப்பட்டார்கள்.

26. So the people came into the forest, and lo! there were streams of honey, but no man reached his hand to his mouth, because the people revered the oath.

27. யோனத்தான் தன் தகப்பன் ஜனங்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டதைக் கேள்விப்படவில்லை; அவன் தன் கையிலிருந்த கோலை நீட்டி, அதின் நுனியினாலே தேன்கூட்டைக் குத்தி, அதை எடுத்துத் தன் வாயிலே போட்டுக்கொண்டான்; அதினால் அவன் கண்கள் தெளிந்தது.

27. But, Jonathan, heard not his father putting the people on oath, so he reached forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and dipped it in the honey-copse, and brought back his hand to his mouth, and his eyes were brightened.

28. அப்பொழுது ஜனங்களில் ஒருவன்: இன்றைக்கு போஜனம் சாப்பிடுகிறவன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன் என்று உம்முடைய தகப்பனார் ஜனங்களுக்கு உறுதியாய் ஆணையிட்டிருக்கிறார்; ஆகையினால் ஜனங்கள் விடாய்த்திருக்கிறார்கள் என்றான்.

28. Then responded one from among the people, and said With an oath, did thy father charge the people, saying Cursed, be the man that eateth food to-day! And so the people were faint.

29. அப்பொழுது யோனத்தான்: என் தகப்பன் தேசத்தின் ஜனங்களைக் கலக்கப்படுத்தினார்: நான் இந்தத் தேனிலே கொஞ்சம் ருசிபார்த்ததினாலே, என் கண்கள் தெளிந்ததைப் பாருங்கள்.

29. Then said Jonathan: My father hath afflicted the land, See, I pray you, how my own eyes have been brightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.

30. இன்றையதினம் ஜனங்கள் தங்களுக்கு அகப்பட்ட தங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் கொள்ளையிலே ஏதாகிலும் புசித்திருந்தால், எத்தனை நலமாயிருக்கும்; பெலிஸ்தருக்குள் உண்டான சங்காரம் மிகவும் அதிகமாயிருக்குமே என்றான்.

30. How much more if haply the people had, eaten freely, to-day of the spoil of their enemies, which they found? for, now, would not the smiting of the Philistines have been, mighty?

31. அவர்கள் அன்றையதினம் மிக்மாசிலிருந்து ஆயலோன்மட்டும் பெலிஸ்தரை முறிய அடித்தபோது, ஜனங்கள் மிகவும் விடாய்த்திருந்தார்கள்.

31. Howbeit they smote the Philistines on that day from Michmash to Aijalon, but the people became exceeding faint.

32. அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் கொள்ளையின்மேல் பாய்ந்து, ஆடுகளையும், மாடுகளையும், கன்றுக்குட்டிகளையும் பிடித்து, தரையிலே போட்டு அடித்து, இரத்தத்தோடும் புசித்தார்கள்.

32. And the people darted greedily upon the spoil, and took sheep, and oxen, and calves, and felled them to the ground, and the people did eat, with the blood.

33. அப்பொழுது, இதோ, இரத்தத்தோடிருக்கிறதைப் புசிக்கிறதினால் ஜனங்கள் கர்த்தருக்கு ஏலாத பாவம் செய்கிறார்கள் என்று சவுலுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்; அவன்: நீங்கள் துரோகம்பண்ணினீர்கள்; இப்போதே ஒரு பெரிய கல்லை என்னிடத்தில் உருட்டிக்கொண்டுவாருங்கள்.

33. And they told Saul, saying, Lo! the people, are sinning against Yahweh, by eating with the blood. And he said Ye have dealt treacherously, roll unto me, here, a great stone.

34. நீங்கள் ஜனத்திற்குள்ளே போய், இரத்தத்தோடிருக்கிறதைச் சாப்பிடுகிறதினாலே, கர்த்தருக்கு ஏலாத பாவம் செய்யாதபடிக்கு, அவரவர் தங்கள் மாட்டையும் அவரவர் தங்கள் ஆட்டையும் என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து, இங்கே அடித்து, பின்பு சாப்பிடவேண்டும் என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள் என்று கட்டளையிட்டான்; ஆகையால் ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் அவரவர் தங்கள் மாடுகளை அன்று இராத்திரி தாங்களே கொண்டுவந்து, அங்கே அடித்தார்கள்.

34. And Saul said Disperse yourselves among the people, and say unto them Bring near unto me every man his ox,, and every man his lamb, and slay them here, and then eat, so shall ye not sin against Yahweh, by eating with the blood. And all the people brought near every man that which was in his hand, that night, and they slew them there.

35. பின்பு சவுல் கர்த்தருக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டினான்; அது அவன் கர்த்தருக்குக் கட்டின முதலாவது பலிபீடம்.

35. And Saul built an altar unto Yahweh, the same, was the first altar that he built unto Yahweh.

36. அதற்குப்பின்பு சவுல்: நாம் இந்த இராத்திரியிலே பெலிஸ்தரைத் தொடர்ந்துபோய், விடியற்கால வெளிச்சமாகுமட்டும் அவர்களைக் கொள்ளையிட்டு, அவர்களில் ஒருவரையும் மீதியாக வைக்காதிருப்போமாக என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: உம்முடைய கண்களுக்கு நலமானபடியெல்லாம் செய்யும் என்றார்கள். ஆசாரியனோ: நாம் இங்கே தேவசந்நிதியில் சேரக்கடவோம் என்றான்.

36. Then said Saul Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and make of them a prey until the morning light, and let us not leave of them, a man. And they said, All that is good in thine eyes, do! Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.

37. அப்படியே: பெலிஸ்தரைத் தொடர்ந்து போகலாமா? அவர்களை இஸ்ரவேலின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பீரா? என்று சவுல் தேவனிடத்தில் விசாரித்தான்; அவர் அந்த நாளிலே அவனுக்கு மறுஉத்தரவு அருளவில்லை.

37. So Saul asked of God, Shall I go down after the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into the hand of Israel? But he answered him not, that day.

38. அப்பொழுது சவுல்: ஜனத்தின் தலைவர்களே, நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் இங்கே சேர்ந்து வந்து, இன்று இந்தப் பாவம் எதினாலே உண்டாயிற்று என்று பார்த்தறியுங்கள்.

38. Then said Saul, Come near hither, all ye chiefs of the people, and get to know and see, wherein, hath been this sin, to-day.

39. அது என் குமாரனாகிய யோனத்தானிடத்தில் காணப்பட்டாலும், அவன் சாகவே சாகவேண்டும் என்று இஸ்ரவேலை இரட்சிக்கிற கர்த்தருடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றான்; சகல ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளும் ஒருவனும் அவனுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்லவில்லை.

39. For, by the life of Yahweh, who saveth Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, yet shall he, die. But there was none ready to answer him, of all the people.

40. அதற்குப்பின் அவன் இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரையும் நோக்கி: நீங்கள் அந்தப்பக்கத்திலே இருங்கள்; நானும் என் குமாரனாகிய யோனத்தானும் இந்தப்பக்கத்தில் இருப்போம் என்றான்; ஜனங்கள் சவுலைப்பார்த்து: உம்முடைய கண்களுக்கு நலமானபடி செய்யும் என்றார்கள்.

40. Then said he unto all Israel Ye, shall be on one side, and, I and Jonathan my son, will be on the other side. And the people said unto Saul, What is good in thine eyes, do!

41. அப்பொழுது சவுல் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: நிதானமாய்க் கட்டளையிட்டு யதார்த்தத்தை விளங்கப்பண்ணும் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது யோனத்தான்மேலும் சவுலின்மேலும் சீட்டு விழுந்தது, ஜனங்களோ தப்பினார்கள்.

41. And Saul said unto Yahweh O God of Israel! now set forth the truth. Then were, Jonathan and Saul, taken, and, the people, escaped.

42. எனக்கும் என் குமாரனாகிய யோனத்தானுக்கும் சீட்டுப்போடுங்கள் என்று சவுல் சொன்னபோது, யோனத்தான்மேல் சீட்டு விழுந்தது.

42. And Saul said, Cast lots between me, and Jonathan my son. Then was, Jonathan, taken.

43. அப்பொழுது சவுல் யோனத்தானைப் பார்த்து: நீ செய்தது என்ன? எனக்குச் சொல் என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு யோனத்தான்: என் கையில் இருக்கிற கோலின் நுனியினாலே கொஞ்சம் தேன் எடுத்து ருசிபார்த்தேன்; அதற்காக நான் சாகவேண்டும் என்றான்.

43. And Saul said unto Jonathan, Come tell me, what thou hast done. So Jonathan told him, and said, I, just tasted, with the end of the staff that was in my hand, a little honey, here I am I must die!

44. அப்பொழுது சவுல்: யோனத்தானே, நீ சாகத்தான் வேண்டும்; இல்லாவிட்டால் தேவன் எனக்கு அதற்குச் சரியாகவும் அதற்கு அதிகமாகவும் செய்யக்கடவர் என்றான்.

44. Then said Saul: So, may God do, and, so, may he add, surely thou must, die, Jonathan!

45. ஜனங்களோ சவுலை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேலிலே இந்தப் பெரிய இரட்சிப்பைச் செய்த யோனத்தான் கொலை செய்யப்படலாமா? அது கூடாது; அவன் தலையில் இருக்கிற ஒரு மயிரும் தரையிலே விழப்போகிறதில்லை என்று கர்த்தருடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு ஆணையிட்டுச் சொல்லுகிறோம்; தேவன் துணை நிற்க அவன் இன்று காரியத்தை நடப்பித்தான் என்றார்கள்; அப்படியே யோனத்தான் சாகாதபடிக்கு, ஜனங்கள் அவனைத் தப்புவித்தார்கள்.

45. But the people said unto Saul Shall, Jonathan, die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? Far be it! By the life of Yahweh, there shall not fall a hair of his head to the ground, for, with God, hath he wrought this day. So the people delivered Jonathan, that he died not.

46. Then Saul went up from following the Philistines, and, the Philistines, departed unto their own place.

47. இப்படிச் சவுல் இஸ்ரவேலை ஆளுகிற ராஜ்யபாரத்தைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டு, சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற தன்னுடைய எல்லாச் சத்துருக்களாகிய மோவாபியருக்கும், அம்மோன் புத்திரருக்கும், ஏதோமியருக்கும், சோபாவின் ராஜாக்களுக்கும், பெலிஸ்தருக்கும் விரோதமாக யுத்தம்பண்ணி, எவர்கள்மேல் படையெடுத்தானோ, அவர்களையெல்லாம் அடக்கினான்.

47. And, Saul, took possession of the kingdom over Israel, and made war round about against all his enemies against Moab, and against the sons of Ammon, and against Edom, and against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines, and, whomsoever he turned against, he was victorious.

48. அவன் பலத்து, அமலேக்கியரை முறிய அடித்து, இஸ்ரவேலரைக் கொள்ளையிடுகிற யாவர் கைக்கும் அவர்களை நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சித்தான்.

48. Then made he ready a force, and smote the Amalekites, and delivered Israel out of the hand of such as plundered them.

49. சவுலுக்கு இருந்த குமாரர்: யோனத்தான், இஸ்வி, மல்கிசூவா என்பவர்கள் அவனுடைய இரண்டு குமாரத்திகளில், மூத்தவள் பேர் மேரப், இளையவள் பேர் மீகாள்.

49. And the sons of Saul were Jonathan, and Ishvi, and Malchishua, and, the names of his two daughters, were, the name of the firstborn, Merab, and, the name of the younger, Michal,

50. சவுலுடைய மனைவியின் பேர் அகினோவாம், அவள் அகிமாசின் குமாரத்தி; அவனுடைய சேனாபதியின்பேர் அப்னேர், அவன் சவுலுடைய சிறிய தகப்பனாகிய நேரின் குமாரன்.

50. and, the name of Saul's wife, was Ahinoam, daughter of Ahimaaz, and the name of the prince of his host, Abner, son of Ner, Saul's uncle.

51. கீஸ் சவுலின் தகப்பன்; அப்னேரின் தகப்பனாகிய நேர் ஆபியேலின் குமாரன்.

51. And, Kish, was Saul's father, and, Ner, Abner's father, was son of Abiel.

52. சவுல் இருந்த நாளெல்லாம் பெலிஸ்தரின்மேல் கடினமான யுத்தம் நடந்தது; சவுல் ஒரு பராக்கிரமசாலியையாகிலும் ஒரு பலசாலியையாகிலும் காணும்போது, அவர்கள் எல்லாரையும் தன்னிடமாகச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளுவான்.

52. And the war was severe against the Philistines all the days of Saul, and, whensoever Saul saw any mighty man, or any son of valour, he drew him unto himself.
