1. அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் இஸ்ரவேலர் அனைவரையும் நோக்கி: இதோ, நீங்கள் எனக்குச் சொன்னபடியெல்லாம் உங்கள் சொற்கேட்டு உங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவை ஏற்படுத்தினேன்.

1. And Samuel sayd vnto al Israel: Beholde, I haue hearkened vnto your voyce in all that ye sayde vnto me, and haue made a king ouer you.

2. இப்போதும் இதோ, ராஜாவானவர் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் சஞ்சரித்துவருகிறார்; நானோ கிழவனும் நரைத்தவனுமானேன்; என் குமாரர் உங்களோடிருப்பார்கள்; நான் என் சிறுவயதுமுதல் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் சஞ்சரித்துவந்தேன்.

2. Nowe therfore, your king walketh before you: and I am olde and graye headed, and behold my sonnes are with you, & I haue walked before you from my childehod vnto this day.

3. இதோ, இருக்கிறேன்; கர்த்தரின் சந்நிதியிலும் அவர் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணி வைத்தவருக்கு முன்பாகவும் என்னைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சி சொல்லுங்கள்; நான் யாருடைய எருதை எடுத்துக்கொண்டேன்? யாருடைய கழுதையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டேன்? யாருக்கு அநியாயஞ்செய்தேன்? யாருக்கு இடுக்கண் செய்தேன்? யார் கையில் பரிதானம் வாங்கிக்கொண்டு கண்சாடையாயிருந்தேன்? சொல்லுங்கள்; அப்படியுண்டானால் அதை உங்களுக்குத் திரும்பக் கொடுப்பேன் என்றான்.

3. Beholde here I am, beare recorde of me before the Lorde & before his annoynted: Whose oxe haue I taken? or whose asse haue I taken? whom haue I done wrong to? Whom haue I hurt? Or of whose hande haue I receaued any bribe, to blind myne eyes therwith? and I will restore it you.

4. அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நீர் எங்களுக்கு அநியாயஞ் செய்யவும் இல்லை; எங்களுக்கு இடுக்கண் செய்யவும் இல்லை; ஒருவர் கையிலும் ஒன்றும் வாங்கவும் இல்லை என்றார்கள்.

4. They sayde: Thou hast done vs no wrong, nor hurt vs, neither hast thou taken ought of any mans hande.

5. அதற்கு அவன்: நீங்கள் என் கையில் ஒன்றும் கண்டுபிடிக்கவில்லை என்பதற்குக் கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு எதிராகச் சாட்சியாயிருக்கிறார்; அவர் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினவரும் இன்று அதற்குச் சாட்சி என்றான்; அதற்கு அவர்கள்: அவர் சாட்சிதான் என்றார்கள்.

5. He sayd vnto them againe: The Lord is witnesse against you, and his annoynted is witnesse this day, that ye haue found naught in my handes. And they aunswered: He is witnesse.

6. அப்புறம் சாமுவேல் ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: மோசேயையும், ஆரோனையும், ஏற்படுத்தினவரும், உங்கள் பிதாக்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினவரும் கர்த்தரே.

6. And Samuel sayd vnto the people: It is the Lorde that made Moyses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers out of the lande of Egypt.

7. இப்பொழுதும் கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கும் உங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கும் செய்துவந்த எல்லா நீதியான கிரியைகளைக்குறித்தும், நான் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் உங்களோடே நியாயம் பேசும்படிக்கு நீங்கள் நில்லுங்கள்.

7. Nowe therfore stand still, that I may reason with you before the Lorde, according to all the righteousnesses of the Lorde, whiche he shewed both you and your fathers.

8. யாக்கோபு எகிப்திலே போயிருக்கும்போது, உங்கள் பிதாக்கள் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி முறையிட்டார்கள், அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும், ஆரோனையும் அனுப்பினார்; அவர்கள் உங்கள் பிதாக்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து அழைத்துவந்து, அவர்களை இந்த ஸ்தலத்திலே குடியிருக்கப்பண்ணினார்கள்.

8. After yt Iacob was come into Egypt, and your fathers cryed vnto the Lord, the Lord sent Moyses & Aaron, which brought your fathers out of Egypt, and made them dwel in this place.

9. அவர்கள் தங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை மறந்துபோகிறபோது, அவர் அவர்களை ஆத்சோரின் சேனாபதியாகிய சிசெராவின் கையிலும், பெலிஸ்தரின் கையிலும், மோவாபிய ராஜாவின் கையிலும் விற்றுப்போட்டார்; இவர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

9. And whe they forgat the Lord their God, he solde the into ye hand of Sisara captayne of the hoast of Hazor, & into the hande of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them.

10. ஆகையால் அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி முறையிட்டு: நாங்கள் கர்த்தரை விட்டுப் பாகால்களையும் அஸ்தரோத்தையும் சேவித்ததினாலே, பாவஞ்செய்தோம்; இப்போதும் எங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் கைக்கு எங்களை நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சியும்; இனி உம்மைச் சேவிப்போம் என்றார்கள்.

10. And they cryed vnto the Lord, & sayd: We haue sinned, because we haue forsaken the Lord, and haue serued Baalim and Astharoth: Nowe therfore deliuer vs out of the handes of our enemies, and we will serue thee.

11. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் எருபாகாலையும், பேதானையும், யெப்தாவையும் சாமுவேலையும் அனுப்பி, நீங்கள் பயமில்லாமல் குடியிருக்கும்படிக்குச் சுற்றிலும் இருந்த உங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் கைக்கும் உங்களை நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சித்தார்.

11. And ye Lord sent Ierobaal, Bedan, Iephthah, and Samuel, and deliuered you out of the handes of your enemies on euerie side, and ye dwelled safe.

12. அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் ராஜாவாகிய நாகாஸ் உங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் வருகிறதை நீங்கள் கண்டபோது, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரே உங்களுக்கு ராஜாவாயிருந்தும், நீங்கள் என்னை நோக்கி: அப்படியல்ல, ஒரு ராஜா எங்கள்மேல் ஆளவேண்டும் என்றீர்கள்.

12. And for all that, when you sawe that Nahas the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye sayd vnto me: Not so, but a king shall raigne ouer vs: when yet the Lord your God was your king.

13. இப்பொழுதும் நீங்கள் வேண்டும் என்று விரும்பித் தெரிந்துகொண்ட ராஜா, இதோ, இருக்கிறார்; இதோ, கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவை ஏற்படுத்தினார்.

13. Nowe therfore behold the king whom ye haue chosen, and whom ye haue desired: lo, ye Lorde hath set a king ouer you.

14. நீங்கள் கர்த்தருடைய வாக்குக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணாமல் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, அவரைச் சேவித்து, அவருடைய சத்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்தால், நீங்களும் உங்களை ஆளுகிற ராஜாவும் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவர்களாயிருப்பீர்கள்.

14. If ye will feare the Lorde and serue him, and heare his voyce, & not disobey the worde of the Lorde, both ye and the king that raigneth ouer you, shall folowe the Lord your God.

15. நீங்கள் கர்த்தருடைய சத்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமல், கர்த்தருடைய வாக்குக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம் பண்ணினீர்களானால், கர்த்தருடைய கை உங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு விரோதமாயிருந்ததுபோல உங்களுக்கும் விரோதமாயிருக்கும்.

15. If ye will not hearken vnto the voyce of the Lorde, but disobey the Lordes mouth, then shall the hand of the Lord be vpon you, and on your fathers.

16. இப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் செய்யும் பெரிய காரியத்தை நின்று பாருங்கள்.

16. Now also stand, & see this great thing whiche the Lorde will do before your eyes.

17. இன்று கோதுமை அறுப்பின் நாள் அல்லவா? நீங்கள் உங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவைக் கேட்டதினால், கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குச் செய்த உங்களுடைய பொல்லாப்புப் பெரியதென்று நீங்கள் கண்டு உணரும்படிக்கு, நான் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணுவேன்; அப்பொழுது இடிமுழக்கங்களையும் மழையையும் கட்டளையிடுவார் என்று சொல்லி,

17. Is it not nowe wheate hearuest? I will call vnto the Lorde, & he shal sende thunder & rayne, that ye may perceaue and see howe that your wickednes is great which ye haue done in the sight of the Lord in asking you a king.

18. சாமுவேல் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்; அன்றையதினமே கர்த்தர் இடிமுழக்கங்களையும் மழையையும் கட்டளையிட்டார்; அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் கர்த்தருக்கும் சாமுவேலுக்கும் மிகவும் பயந்து;

18. And so Samuel called vnto the Lord, and the Lorde sent thunder and rayne the same day: And all the people feared the Lord and Samuel exceedingly.

19. சாமுவேலைப் பார்த்து: நாங்கள் சாகாதபடிக்கு உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்தில் உம்முடைய அடியாருக்காக விண்ணப்பம் செய்யும்; நாங்கள் செய்த எல்லாப் பாவங்களோடும் எங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜா வேண்டும் என்று கேட்ட இந்தப் பாவத்தையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டோம் என்று ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் சொன்னார்கள்.

19. And al the people sayd vnto Samuel: Pray for thy seruauntes vnto the Lord thy God, that we dye not: for we haue sinned in asking vs a king, besyde all our [other] sinnes.

20. அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: பயப்படாதேயுங்கள்; நீங்கள் இந்தப் பொல்லாப்பையெல்லாம் செய்தீர்கள்; ஆகிலும் கர்த்தரை விட்டுப் பின்வாங்காமல் கர்த்தரை உங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் சேவியுங்கள்.

20. And Samuel sayde vnto the people, feare not (Ye haue in deede done al this wickednesse, yet depart not from folowing of the Lorde, but serue the Lorde with all your heartes:

21. விலகிப்போகாதிருங்கள்; மற்றப்படி பிரயோஜனமற்றதும் இரட்சிக்கமாட்டாததுமாயிருக்கிற வீணானவைகளைப் பின்பற்றுவீர்கள்; அவைகள் வீணானவைகளே.

21. Neither turne ye away, for [then ye go] after vayne thinges, which are not able to profite you, nor deliuer you, for they are but vanitie.)

22. கர்த்தர் உங்களைத் தமக்கு ஜனமாக்கிக்கொள்ளப் பிரியமானபடியினால், கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய மகத்துவமான நாமத்தினிமித்தம் தமது ஜனத்தைக் கைவிடமாட்டார்.
ரோமர் 11:1-2

22. For the Lorde will not forsake his people, because of his great names sake: because it hath pleased the Lorde to make you his people.

23. நானும் உங்களுக்காக விண்ணப்பம் செய்யாதிருப்பேனாகில் கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்கிறவனாயிருப்பேன்; அது எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக; நன்மையும் செவ்வையுமான வழியை நான் உங்களுக்குப் போதிப்பேன்.

23. Moreouer, God forbid that I shoulde sinne against the Lord, and ceasse praying for you: but I will shewe you the good and right way.

24. நீங்கள் எப்படியும் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, உங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் உண்மையாய் அவரைச் சேவிக்கக்கடவீர்கள்; அவர் உங்களிடத்தில் எவ்வளவு மகிமையான காரியங்களைச் செய்தார் என்பதைச் சிந்தித்துப்பாருங்கள்.

24. Therfore feare you the Lorde, & serue him in the trueth, and with all your heartes: & consider howe great thinges he hath done for you.

25. நீங்கள் இன்னும் பொல்லாப்பைச் செய்யவே செய்வீர்களானால், நீங்களும் உங்கள் ராஜாவும் நாசமடைவீர்கள் என்றான்.

25. But and yf ye do wickedly, then shall ye perishe, both ye and your king.
