1. பின்பு சிம்சோன் காசாவுக்குப் போய், அங்கே ஒரு வேசியைக் கண்டு, அவளிடத்தில் போனான்.

1. And Samson goeth to Gaza, and seeth there a woman, a harlot, and goeth in unto her;

2. அப்பொழுது: சிம்சோன் இங்கே வந்திருக்கிறான் என்று காசா ஊராருக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டது. அவர்கள்: காலையில் வெளிச்சமாகிறபோது அவனைக் கொன்றுபோடுவோம் என்று சொல்லி, அவனை வளைந்துகொண்டு இராமுழுவதும் அவனுக்காகப் பட்டணவாசலில் பதிவிருந்து இராமுழுவதும் பேசாதிருந்தார்கள்.

2. [it is told] to the Gazathites, saying, 'Samson hath come in hither;' and they go round and lay wait for him all the night at the gate of the city, and keep themselves silent all the night, saying, 'Till the light of the morning -- then we have slain him.'

3. சிம்சோன் நடுராத்திரிமட்டும் படுத்திருந்து, நடுராத்திரியில் எழுந்து, பட்டணத்து வாசல் கதவுகளையும் அதின் இரண்டு நிலைகளையும் பிடித்து, தாழ்ப்பாளோடேகூடப் பெயர்த்து, தன் தோளின்மேல் வைத்து, எபிரோனுக்கு எதிரேயிருக்கிற மலையின் உச்சிக்குச் சுமந்து கொண்டுபோனான்.

3. And Samson lieth down till the middle of the night, and riseth in the middle of the night, and layeth hold on the doors of the gate of the city, and on the two side posts, and removeth them with the bar, and putteth on his shoulders, and taketh them up unto the top of the hill, which [is] on the front of Hebron.

4. அதற்குப்பின்பு அவன் சோரேக் ஆற்றங்கரையில் இருக்கிற தெலீலாள் என்னும் பேருள்ள ஒரு ஸ்திரீயோடே சிநேகமாயிருந்தான்.

4. And it cometh to pass afterwards that he loveth a woman in the valley of Sorek, and her name [is] Delilah,

5. அவளிடத்திற்குப் பெலிஸ்தரின் அதிபதிகள் போய்: நீ அவனை நயம்பண்ணி, அவனுடைய மகா பலம் எதினாலே உண்டாயிருக்கிறது என்றும், நாங்கள் அவனைக் கட்டிச் சிறுமைப்படுத்துகிறதற்கு எதினாலே அவனை மேற்கொள்ளலாம் என்றும் அறிந்துகொள்; அப்பொழுது நாங்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஆயிரத்துநூறு வெள்ளிக்காசு உனக்குக் கொடுப்போம் என்றார்கள்.

5. and the princes of the Philistines come up unto her, and say to her, 'Entice him, and see wherein his great power [is], and wherein we are able for him -- and we have bound him to afflict him, and we -- we give to thee, each one, eleven hundred silverlings.'

6. அப்படியே தெலீலாள் சிம்சோனைப் பார்த்து: உன் மகா பலம் எதினாலே உண்டாயிருக்கிறது. உன்னைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்த, உன்னை எதினாலே கட்டலாம் என்று நீ எனக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டும் என்றாள்.

6. And Delilah saith unto Samson, 'Declare, I pray thee, to me, wherein thy great power [is], and wherewith thou art bound, to afflict thee.'

7. அதற்குச் சிம்சோன்: உலராத பச்சையான ஏழு அகணிநார்க் கயிறுகளாலே என்னைக் கட்டினால், நான் பலட்சயமாகி, மற்ற மனுஷனைப்போல் ஆவேன் என்றான்.

7. And Samson saith unto her, 'If they bind me with seven green withs which have not been dried, then I have been weak, and have been as one of the human race.'

8. அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தரின் அதிபதிகள் உலராத பச்சையான ஏழு அகணிநார்க் கயிறுகளை அவளிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அவைகளால் அவள் அவனைக் கட்டினாள்.

8. And the princes of the Philistines bring up to her seven green withs which have not been dried, and she bindeth him with them.

9. பதிவிருக்கிறவர்கள் அறைவீட்டிலே காத்திருக்கும்போது, அவள்: சிம்சோனே, பெலிஸ்தர் உன்மேல் வந்துவிட்டார்கள் என்றாள்; அப்பொழுது, சணல்நூலானது நெருப்புப்பட்டவுடனே இற்றுப்போகிறதுபோல, அவன் அந்தக் கயிறுகளை அறுத்துப்போட்டான்; அவன் பலம் இன்னதினாலே உண்டாயிருக்கிறது என்று அறியப்படவில்லை.

9. And the ambush is abiding with her in an inner chamber, and she saith unto him, 'Philistines [are] upon thee, Samson;' and he breaketh the withs as a thread of tow is broken in its smelling fire, and his power hath not been known.

10. அப்பொழுது தெலீலாள் சிம்சோனைப் பார்த்து: இதோ, என்னைப் பரியாசம்பண்ணி, எனக்குப் பொய்சொன்னாய்; இப்போதும் உன்னை எதினாலே கட்டலாம் என்று எனக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டும் என்றாள்.

10. And Delilah saith unto Samson, 'Lo, thou hast played upon me, and speakest unto me lies; now, declare, I pray thee, to me, wherewith thou art bound.'

11. அதற்கு அவன்: இதுவரைக்கும் ஒரு வேலைக்கும் வழங்காதிருக்கிற புதுக்கயிறுகளால் என்னை இறுகக் கட்டினால், நான் பலட்சயமாகி, மற்ற மனுஷனைப்போல் ஆவேன் என்றான்.

11. And he saith unto her, 'If they certainly bind me with thick bands, new ones, by which work hath not been done, then I have been weak, and have been as one of the human race.'

12. அப்பொழுது தெலீலாள், புதுக்கயிறுகளை வாங்கி, அவைகளால் அவனைக்கட்டி: சிம்சோனே, பெலிஸ்தர் உன்மேல் வந்துவிட்டார்கள் என்றாள்: பதிவிருக்கிறவர்கள் அறைவீட்டில் இருந்தார்கள்; ஆனாலும் அவன் தன் புயங்களில் இருந்த கயிறுகளை ஒரு நூலைப்போல அறுத்துப்போட்டான்.

12. And Delilah taketh thick bands, new ones, and bindeth him with them, and saith unto him, 'Philistines [are] upon thee, Samson;' and the ambush is abiding in an inner chamber, and he breaketh them from off his arms as a thread.

13. பின்பு தெலீலாள் சிம்சோனைப் பார்த்து: இதுவரைக்கும் என்னைப் பரியாசம்பண்ணி, எனக்குப் பொய்சொன்னாய்; உன்னை எதினாலே கட்டலாம் என்று எனக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டும் என்றாள்; அதற்கு அவன்: நீ என் தலைமயிரின் ஏழுஜடைகளை நெசவுநூல் பாவோடே பின்னிவிட்டால் ஆகும் என்றான்.

13. And Delilah saith unto Samson, 'Hitherto thou hast played upon me, and dost speak unto me lies; declare to me wherewith thou art bound.' And he saith unto her, 'If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.'

14. அப்படியே அவள் செய்து, அவைகளை ஆணியடித்து மாட்டி: சிம்சோனே, பெலிஸ்தர் உன்மேல் வந்துவிட்டார்கள் என்றாள்; அவன் நித்திரைவிட்டெழும்பி, நெசவு ஆணியையும் நூல்பாவையும் கூடப் பிடுங்கிக்கொண்டு போனான்.

14. And she fixeth [it] with the pin, and saith unto him, 'Philistines [are] upon thee, Samson;' and he awaketh out of his sleep, and journeyeth with the pin of the weaving machine, and with the web.

15. அப்பொழுது அவள் அவனைப் பார்த்து: உன் இருதயம் என்னோடு இராதிருக்க, உன்னைச் சிநேகிக்கிறேன் என்று நீ எப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறாய்? நீ இந்த மூன்று விசையும் என்னைப் பரியாசம் பண்ணினாய் அல்லவா, உன்னுடைய மகாபலம் எதினாலே உண்டாயிருக்கிறது என்று எனக்குச் சொல்லாமற்போனாயே என்று சொல்லி,

15. And she saith unto him, 'How dost thou say, I have loved thee, and thy heart is not with me? these three times thou hast played upon me, and hast not declared to me wherein thy great power [is].'

16. இப்படி அவனைத் தினம்தினம் தன் வார்த்தைகளினாலே நெருக்கி அலட்டிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறதினால், சாகத்தக்கதாய் அவன் ஆத்துமா விசனப்பட்டு,

16. And it cometh to pass, because she distressed him with her words all the days, and doth urge him, and his soul is grieved to death,

17. தன் இருதயத்தையெல்லாம் அவளுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தி: சவரகன் கத்தி என் தலையின்மேல் படவில்லை; நான் என் தாயின் கர்ப்பத்தில் பிறந்ததுமுதல் தேவனுக்கென்று நசரேயனானவன்; என் தலைசிரைக்கப்பட்டால், என் பலம் என்னை விட்டுப்போகும்; அதினாலே நான் பலட்சயமாகி, மற்ற எல்லா மனுஷரைப்போலும் ஆவேன் என்று அவளிடத்தில் சொன்னான்.

17. that he declareth to her all his heart, and saith to her, 'A razor hath not gone up on my head, for a Nazarite to God I [am] from the womb of my mother; if I have been shaven, then hath my power turned aside from me, and I have been weak, and have been as any of the human race.'

18. அவன் தன் இருதயத்தையெல்லாம் தனக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தினதைத் தெலீலாள் கண்டபோது, அவள் பெலிஸ்தரின் அதிபதிகளுக்கு ஆள் அனுப்பி: இந்த ஒருவிசை வாருங்கள், அவன் தன் இருதயத்தையெல்லாம் எனக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தினான் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னாள்; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தரின் அதிபதிகள் வெள்ளிக்காசுகளைத் தங்கள் கையில் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு அவளிடத்துக்கு வந்தார்கள்.

18. And Delilah seeth that he hath declared to her all his heart, and she sendeth and calleth for the princes of the Philistines, saying, 'Come up this time, for he hath declared to me all his heart;' and the princes of the Philistines have come up unto her, and bring up the money in their hand.

19. அவள் அவனைத் தன் மடியிலே நித்திரைசெய்யப்பண்ணி, ஒருவனை அழைத்து, அவன் தலைமயிரின் ஏழு ஜடைகளையும் சிரைப்பித்து, அவனைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தத் தொடங்கினாள்; அவன் பலம் அவனைவிட்டு நீங்கிற்று.

19. and she maketh him sleep on her knees, and calleth for a man, and shaveth the seven locks of his head, and beginneth to afflict him, and his power turneth aside from off him;

20. அப்பொழுது அவள்: சிம்சோனே, பெலிஸ்தர் உன்மேல் வந்துவிட்டார்கள் என்றாள்; அவன் நித்திரைவிட்டு விழித்து, கர்த்தர் தன்னைவிட்டு விலகினதை அறியாமல், எப்போதும்போல உதறிப்போட்டு வெளியே போவேன் என்றான்.

20. and she saith, 'Philistines [are] upon thee, Samson;' and he awaketh out of his sleep, and saith, 'I go out as time by time, and shake myself;' and he hath not known that Jehovah hath turned aside from off him.

21. பெலிஸ்தர் அவனைப் பிடித்து, அவன் கண்களைப் பிடுங்கி, அவனைக் காசாவுக்குக் கொண்டுபோய், அவனுக்கு இரண்டு வெண்கல விலங்குபோட்டுச் சிறைச்சாலையிலே மாவரைத்துக்கொண்டிருக்க வைத்தார்கள்.

21. And the Philistines seize him, and pick out his eyes, and bring him down to Gaza, and bind him with two brazen fetters; and he is grinding in the prison-house.

22. அவன் தலைமயிர் சிரைக்கப்பட்டபின்பு, திரும்பவும் முளைக்கத் தொடங்கிற்று.

22. And the hair of his head beginneth to shoot up, when he hath been shaven,

23. பெலிஸ்தரின் பிரபுக்கள்: நம்முடைய பகைஞனாகிய சிம்சோனை நம்முடைய தேவன் நம்முடைய கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார் என்று சொல்லி, தங்கள் தேவனாகிய தாகோனுக்கு ஒரு பெரிய பலிசெலுத்தவும், சந்தோஷம் கொண்டாடவும் கூடிவந்தார்கள்.

23. and the princes of the Philistines have been gathered together to sacrifice a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice; and they say, 'Our god hath given into our hand Samson our enemy.'

24. ஜனங்கள் அவனைக் கண்டவுடனே: நம்முடைய தேசத்தைப் பாழாக்கி, நம்மில் அநேகரைக் கொன்றுபோட்ட நம்முடைய பகைஞனை நம்முடைய தேவன் நமது கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார் என்று சொல்லி, தங்கள் தேவனைப் புகழ்ந்தார்கள்.

24. And the people see him, and praise their god, for they said, 'Our god hath given in our hand our enemy, and he who is laying waste our land, and who multiplied our wounded.'

25. இப்படி அவர்கள் மனமகிழ்ச்சியாயிருக்கும்போது: நமக்கு முன்பாக வேடிக்கைகாட்டும்படிக்கு, சிம்சோனைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு வாருங்கள் என்றார்கள்; அப்பொழுது சிம்சோனைச் சிறைச்சாலையிலிருந்து கூட்டிக்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள், அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக வேடிக்கை காட்டினான்; அவனைத் தூண்களுக்கு நடுவே நிறுத்தினார்கள்.

25. And it cometh to pass, when their heart [is] glad, that they say, 'Call for Samson, and he doth play before us;' and they call for Samson out of the prison-house, and he playeth before them, and they cause him to stand between the pillars.

26. சிம்சோன் தனக்குக் கைலாகு கொடுத்து நடத்துகிற பிள்ளையாண்டானோடே, வீட்டைத் தாங்குகிற தூண்களிலே நான் சாய்ந்துகொண்டிருக்கும்படி அவைகளை நான் தடவிப்பார்க்கட்டும் என்றான்.

26. And Samson saith unto the young man who is keeping hold on his hand, 'Let me alone, and let me feel the pillars on which the house is established, and I lean upon them.'

27. அந்த வீடு புருஷராலும் ஸ்திரீகளாலும் நிறைந்திருந்தது; அங்கே பெலிஸ்தரின் சகல பிரபுக்களும், வீட்டின்மேல் புருஷரும் ஸ்திரீகளுமாக ஏறக்குறைய மூவாயிரம்பேர், சிம்சோன் வேடிக்கை காட்டுகிறதைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

27. And the house hath been full of men and of women, and thither [are] all the princes of the Philistines, and on the roof [are] about three thousand men and women, who are looking on the playing of Samson.

28. அப்பொழுது சிம்சோன் கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு: கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவரே, நான் என் இரண்டு கண்களுக்காக ஒரே தீர்வையாய்ப் பெலிஸ்தர் கையிலே பழிவாங்கும்படிக்கு, இந்த ஒருவிசை மாத்திரம் என்னை நினைத்தருளும், தேவனே, பலப்படுத்தும் என்று சொல்லி,
எபிரேயர் 11:32

28. And Samson calleth unto Jehovah, and saith, 'Lord Jehovah, remember me, I pray Thee, and strengthen me, I pray Thee, only this time, O God; and I am avenged -- vengeance at once -- because of my two eyes, on the Philistines.'

29. சிம்சோன் அந்த வீட்டைத் தாங்கி நிற்கிற இரண்டு நடுத்தூண்களில், ஒன்றைத் தன் வலதுகையினாலும், மற்றொன்றைத் தன் இடதுகையினாலும் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு,

29. And Samson turneth aside [to] the two middle pillars, on which the house is established, and on which it is supported, [to] the one with his right hand, and one with his left;

30. என் ஜீவன் பெலிஸ்தரோடேகூட மடியக்கடவது என்று சொல்லி, பலமாய்ச் சாய்க்க, அந்த வீடு அதில் இருந்த பிரபுக்கள்மேலும் எல்லா ஜனங்கள்மேலும் விழுந்தது; இவ்விதமாய் அவன் உயிரோடிருக்கையில் அவனால் கொல்லப்பட்டவர்களைப்பார்க்கிலும், அவன் சாகும்போது அவனால் கொல்லப்பட்டவர்கள் அதிகமாயிருந்தார்கள்.

30. and Samson saith, 'Let me die with the Philistines,' and he inclineth himself powerfully, and the house falleth on the princes, and on all the people who [are] in it, and the dead whom he hath put to death in his death are more than those whom he put to death in his life.

31. பின்பு அவன் சகோதரரும், அவன் தகப்பன் வீட்டாரனைவரும் போய், அவனை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து, சோராவுக்கும் எஸ்தாவோலுக்கும் நடுவே அவன் தகப்பனாகிய மனோவாவின் கல்லறையில் அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள். அவன் இஸ்ரவேலை இருபது வருஷம் நியாயம் விசாரித்தான்.

31. And his brethren come down, and all the house of his father, and lift him up, and bring him up, and bury him between Zorah and Eshtaol, in the burying-place of Manoah his father; and he hath judged Israel twenty years.
