1. Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,

8. Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them prostituted, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell;

11. Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

12. இப்படியிருக்க, தன்னை நிற்கிறவனென்று எண்ணுகிறவன் விழாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருக்கக்கடவன்.

12. Therefore let him who thinks he is firmly established take heed that he not fall.

13. மனுஷருக்கு நேரிடுகிற சோதனையேயல்லாமல் வேறே சோதனை உங்களுக்கு நேரிடவில்லை. தேவன் உண்மையுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறார்; உங்கள் திராணிக்கு மேலாக நீங்கள் சோதிக்கப்படுகிறதற்கு அவர் இடங்கொடாமல், சோதனையைத் தாங்கத்தக்கதாக, சோதனையோடுகூட அதற்குத் தப்பிக்கொள்ளும்படியான போக்கையும் உண்டாக்குவார்.

13. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also provide a way out, that you may be able to bear it.

14. Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

15. I speak as to wise men; judge for yourselves what I say.

18. Observe Israel after the flesh: Are not those who eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

19. What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything?

20. Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.

21. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons.

25. Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, not investigating because of conscience;

26. for the earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness.

27. அன்றியும் அவிசுவாசிகளில் ஒருவன் உங்களை விருந்துக்கு அழைக்கும்போது, போக உங்களுக்கு மனதிருந்தால், மனச்சாட்சியினிமித்தம் ஒன்றையும் விசாரியாமல், உங்கள் முன் வைக்கப்படுகிற எதையும் புசியுங்கள்.

27. If any of those who do not believe invite you to dinner, and you desire to go, eat whatever is set before you, not questioning because of conscience.

28. ஆயினும் இது விக்கிரகங்களுக்குப் படைக்கப்பட்டதென்று ஒருவன் உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னால், அப்படி அறிவித்தவனிமித்தமும் மனச்சாட்சியினிமித்தமும் புசியாதிருங்கள்; பூமியும் அதின் நிறைவும் கர்த்தருடையது.

28. But if anyone says to you, This was offered to idols, do not eat it for the sake of the one who informed you, and because of conscience; for the earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness.

29. உன்னுடைய மனச்சாட்சியைக்குறித்து நான் இப்படிச் சொல்லாமல், மற்றொருவனுடைய மனச்சாட்சியைக்குறித்தே சொல்லுகிறேன். என் சுயாதீனம் மற்றொருவனுடைய மனச்சாட்சியினாலே குற்றமாய் எண்ணப்படவேண்டுவதென்ன?

29. Conscience, I say, not your own, but that of the other. For why is my liberty judged by another's conscience?

30. மேலும் நான் அதை ஸ்தோத்திரிப்புடனே அநுபவித்தால், ஸ்தோத்திரித்து அநுபவிக்கிற பொருளைக்குறித்து நான் தூஷிக்கப்படுவானேன்?

30. But if I partake by grace, why am I evil spoken of because of that for which I give thanks?

31. ஆகையால் நீங்கள் புசித்தாலும், குடித்தாலும், எதைச் செய்தாலும், எல்லாவற்றையும் தேவனுடைய மகிமைக்கென்று செய்யுங்கள்.

31. Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

32. நான் என் சுயபிரயோஜனத்தைத் தேடாமல், அநேகருடைய பிரயோஜனத்தைத் தேடி, அவர்கள் இரட்சிக்கப்படும்படிக்கு, எவ்விதத்திலும் எல்லாருக்கும் பிரியமாய் நடக்கிறதுபோல;

32. Do not become a cause of stumbling, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God,

33. நீங்களும் யூதருக்கும், கிரேக்கருக்கும், தேவனுடைய சபைக்கும் இடறலற்றவர்களாயிருங்கள்.

33. just as I also strive to please everyone in everything, not seeking my own profit, but of the many, in order that they may be saved.
