1. ''You are not to make yourselves any idols, erect a carved statue or a standing-stone, or place any carved stone anywhere in your land in order to bow down to it. I am ADONAI your God.

2. என் ஓய்வுநாட்களை ஆசரித்து, என் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தைக்குறித்துப் பயபக்தியாயிருப்பீர்களாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

2. ''Keep my [Shabbat]s, and revere my sanctuary; I am ADONAI.

3. நீங்கள் என் கட்டளைகளின்படி நடந்து, என் கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு, அவைகளின்படி செய்தால்,

3. 'If you live by my regulations, observe my [mitzvot] and obey them;

4. நான் ஏற்ற காலத்தில் உங்களுக்கு மழை பெய்யப்பண்ணுவேன்; பூமி தன் பலனையும், வெளியிலுள்ள மரங்கள் தங்கள் கனியையும் கொடுக்கும்.

4. then I will provide the rain you need in its season, the land will yield its produce, and the trees in the field will yield their fruit.

5. திராட்சப்பழம் பறிக்குங் காலம் வரைக்கும் போரடிப்புக் காலம் இருக்கும்; விதைப்புக் காலம்வரைக்கும் திராட்சப்பழம் பறிக்குங் காலம் இருக்கும்; நீங்கள் உங்கள் அப்பத்தைத் திருப்தியாகச் சாப்பிட்டு, உங்கள் தேசத்தில் சுகமாய்க் குடியிருப்பீர்கள்.

5. Your threshing time will extend until the grape harvest, and your grape harvesting will extend until the time for sowing seed. You will eat as much food as you want and live securely in your land.

6. தேசத்தில் சமாதானம் கட்டளையிடுவேன்; தத்தளிக்கப்பண்ணுவார் இல்லாமல் படுத்துக்கொள்வீர்கள்; துஷ்ட மிருகங்களைத் தேசத்தில் இராதபடிக்கு ஒழியப்பண்ணுவேன்; பட்டயம் உங்கள் தேசத்தில் உலாவுவதில்லை.

6. ''I will give [shalom] in the land- you will lie down to sleep unafraid of anyone. I will rid the land of wild animals. The sword will not go through your land.

7. உங்கள் சத்துருக்களைத் துரத்துவீர்கள்; அவர்கள் உங்கள் முன்பாகப் பட்டயத்தால் விழுவார்கள்.

7. You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall before your sword.

8. உங்களில் ஐந்துபேர் நூறுபேரைத் துரத்துவார்கள்; உங்களில் நூறுபேர் பதினாயிரம்பேரைத் துரத்துவார்கள்; உங்கள் சத்துருக்கள் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகப் பட்டயத்தால் விழுவார்கள்.

8. Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand- your enemies will fall before your sword.

9. ''I will turn toward you, make you productive, increase your numbers and uphold my covenant with you.

10. You will eat all you want from last year's harvest and throw out what remains of the old to make room for the new.

11. உங்கள் நடுவில் என் வாசஸ்தலத்தை ஸ்தாபிப்பேன்; என் ஆத்துமா உங்களை அரோசிப்பதில்லை.

11. I will put my tabernacle among you, and I will not reject you,

12. but I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people.

13. I am ADONAI your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, so that you would not be their slaves. I have broken the bars of your yoke, so that you can walk upright.

14. ''But if you will not listen to me and obey all these [mitzvot],

15. if you loathe my regulations and reject my rulings, in order not to obey all my [mitzvot] but cancel my covenant;

16. நான் உங்களுக்குச் செய்வது என்னவென்றால், கண்களைப் பூத்துப்போகப்பண்ணுகிறதற்கும், இருதயத்தைத் துயரப்படுத்துகிறதற்கும், திகிலையும் ஈளையையும் காய்ச்சலையும் உங்களுக்கு வரப்பண்ணுவேன்; நீங்கள் விதைக்கும் விதை விருதாவாயிருக்கும்; உங்கள் சத்துருக்கள் அதின் பலனைத் தின்பார்கள்.

16. then I, for my part, will do this to you: I will bring terror upon you- wasting disease and chronic fever to dim your sight and sap your strength. You will sow your seed for nothing, because your enemies will eat the crops.

17. I will set my face against you- your enemies will defeat you, those who hate you will hound you, and you will flee when no one is pursuing you.

18. இவ்விதமாய் நான் உங்களுக்குச் செய்தும், இன்னும் நீங்கள் எனக்குச் செவிகொடாதிருந்தால், உங்கள் பாவங்களினிமித்தம் பின்னும் ஏழத்தனையாக உங்களைத் தண்டித்து,

18. If these things don't make you listen to me, then I will discipline you seven times over for your sins.

19. உங்கள் வல்லமையின் பெருமையை முறித்து, உங்கள் வானத்தை இரும்பைப் போலவும், உங்கள் பூமியை வெண்கலத்தைப்போலவும் ஆக்குவேன்.

19. I will break the pride you have in your own power. I will make your sky like iron, your soil like bronze-

20. உங்கள் பெலன் விருதாவிலே செலவழியும், உங்கள் தேசம் தன் பலனையும், தேசத்தின் மரங்கள் தங்கள் கனிகளையும் கொடுக்கமாட்டாது.

20. you will spend your strength in vain, because the land will not yield its produce or the trees in the field their fruit.

21. நீங்கள் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுக்க மனதில்லாமல், எனக்கு எதிர்த்து நடப்பீர்களானால், நான் உங்கள் பாவங்களுக்குத்தக்கதாக இன்னும் ஏழத்தனை வாதையை உங்கள்மேல் வரப்பண்ணி,

21. ''Yes, if you go against me and don't listen to me, I will increase your calamities sevenfold, according to your sins.

22. I will send wild animals among you; they will rob you of your children, destroy your livestock and reduce your numbers, until your roads are deserted.

23. ''If, in spite of all this, you refuse my correction and still go against me;

24. then I too will go against you; and I, yes I, will strike you seven times over for your sins.

25. I will bring a sword against you which will execute the vengeance of the covenant. You will be huddled inside your cities, I will send sickness among you, and you will be handed over to the power of the enemy.

26. உங்கள் அப்பம் என்னும் ஆதரவு கோலை நான் முறித்துப்போடும்போது, பத்து ஸ்திரீகள் ஒரே அடுப்பில் உங்கள் அப்பத்தைச் சுட்டு, அதைத் திரும்ப உங்களுக்கு நிறுத்துக்கொடுப்பார்கள்; நீங்கள் சாப்பிட்டும் திருப்தியடையமாட்டீர்கள்.

26. I will cut off your supply of bread, so that ten women will bake your bread in one oven and dole out your bread by weight, and you will eat but not be satisfied.

27. இன்னும் இவைகளெல்லாவற்றாலும் நீங்கள் எனக்குச் செவிகொடாமல், எனக்கு எதிர்த்து நடந்தால்,

27. 'And if, for all this, you still will not listen to me, but go against me;

28. நானும் உக்கிரத்தோடே உங்களுக்கு எதிர்த்து நடந்து, நானே உங்கள் பாவங்களினிமித்தம் உங்களை ஏழத்தனையாய்த் தண்டிப்பேன்.

28. then I will go against you furiously, and I also will chastise you yet seven times more for your sins.

29. உங்கள் குமாரரின் மாம்சத்தையும் உங்கள் குமாரத்திகளின் மாம்சத்தையும் புசிப்பீர்கள்.

29. You will eat the flesh of your own sons, you will eat the flesh of your own daughters.

30. நான் உங்கள் மேடைகளை அழித்து, உங்கள் விக்கிரகச் சிலைகளை நிர்த்தூளியாக்கி, உங்கள் உடல்களை உங்கள் நரகலான தேவர்களுடைய உடல்கள்மேல் எறிவேன்; என் ஆத்துமா உங்களை அரோசிக்கும்.

30. I will destroy your high places, cut down your pillars for sun-worship, and throw your carcasses on the carcasses of your idols; and I will detest you.

31. நான் உங்கள் பட்டணங்களை வெறுமையும், உங்கள் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலங்களைப் பாழுமாக்கி, உங்கள் சுகந்த வாசனையை முகராதிருப்பேன்.

31. I will lay waste to your cities and make your sanctuaries desolate, so as not to smell your fragrant aromas.

32. நான் தேசத்தைப் பாழாக்குவேன்; அதிலே குடியிருக்கிற உங்கள் சத்துருக்கள் பிரமிப்பார்கள்.

32. I will desolate the land, so that your enemies living in it will be astounded by it.

33. ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே உங்களைச் சிதற அடித்து, உங்கள் பின்னாகப் பட்டயத்தை உருவுவேன்; உங்கள் தேசம் பாழும், உங்கள் பட்டணங்கள் வனாந்தரமுமாகும்.

33. You I will disperse among the nations, and I will draw out the sword in pursuit after you; your land will be a desolation and your cities a wasteland.

34. நீங்கள் உங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் தேசத்தில் இருக்கும்போது, தேசமானது பாழாய்க்கிடக்கிற நாளெல்லாம் தன் ஓய்வுநாட்களை இரம்மியமாய் அநுபவிக்கும்; அப்பொழுது தேசம் ஓய்வடைந்து, தன் ஓய்வுநாட்களை இரம்மியமாய் அநுபவிக்கும்.

34. Then, at last, the land will be paid its [Shabbat]s. As long as it lies desolate and you are in the lands of your enemies, the land will rest and be repaid its [Shabbat]s.

35. நீங்கள் அதிலே குடியிருக்கும்போது, அது உங்கள் ஓய்வு வருஷங்களில் ஓய்வடையாதபடியினாலே, அது பாழாய்க்கிடக்கும் நாளெல்லாம் ஓய்வடைந்திருக்கும்.

35. Yes, as long as it lies desolate it will have rest, the rest it did not have during your [Shabbat]s, when you lived there.

36. உங்களில் உயிரோடு மீதியாயிருப்பவர்களின் இருதயங்கள் தங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் தேசங்களில் மனத்தளர்ச்சி அடையும்படி செய்வேன்; அசைகிற இலையின் சத்தமும் அவர்களை ஓட்டும்; அவர்கள் பட்டயத்திற்குத் தப்பி ஓடுகிறது போல ஓடி, துரத்துவார் இல்லாமல் விழுவார்கள்.

36. As for those of you who are left, I will fill their hearts with anxiety in the lands of their enemies. The sound of a driven leaf will frighten them, so that they will flee as one flees from the sword and fall when no one is pursuing.

37. துரத்துவார் இல்லாமல், பட்டயத்துக்கு முன் விழுவதுபோல, ஒருவர்மேல் ஒருவர் இடறிவிழுவார்கள்; உங்கள் சத்துருக்களுக்குமுன் நிற்க உங்களுக்குப் பெலன் இராது.

37. Yes, with no one pursuing they will stumble over each other as if fleeing the sword- you will have no power to stand before your enemies.

38. புறஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே அழிந்துபோவீர்கள்; உங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் தேசம் உங்களைப் பட்சிக்கும்.

38. And among the nations you will perish; the land of your enemies will devour you.

39. உங்களில் தப்பினவர்கள் தங்கள் அக்கிரமங்களினிமித்தமும், தங்கள் பிதாக்களின் அக்கிரமங்களினிமித்தமும், உங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் தேசங்களில் வாடிப்போவார்கள்.

39. Those of you who remain will pine away in the lands of your enemies from guilt over your misdeeds and those of your ancestors.

40. அவர்கள் எனக்கு விரோதமாகத் துரோகம்பண்ணி நடப்பித்த தங்கள் அக்கிரமத்தையும், தங்கள் பிதாக்களின் அக்கிரமத்தையும் அறிக்கையிடுகிறதுமன்றி,

40. Then they will confess their misdeeds and those of their ancestors which they committed against me in their rebellion; they will admit that they went against me.

41. At that time I will be going against them, bringing them into the lands of their enemies. But if their uncircumcised hearts will grow humble, and they are paid the punishment for their misdeeds;

42. then I will remember my covenant with Ya'akov, also my covenant with Yitz'chak and my covenant with Avraham; and I will remember the land.

43. For the land will lie abandoned without them, and it will be paid its [Shabbat]s while it lies desolate without them; and they will be paid the punishment for their misdeeds, because they rejected my rulings and loathed my regulations.

44. அவர்கள் தங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் தேசத்திலிருந்தாலும், நான் அவர்களை நிர்மூலமாக்கத்தக்கதாகவும், நான் அவர்களோடே பண்ணின என் உடன்படிக்கையை அபத்தமாக்கத்தக்கதாகவும், நான் அவர்களைக் கைவிடவும் வெறுக்கவும் மாட்டேன்; நான் அவர்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

44. Yet, in spite of all that, I will not reject them when they are in the lands of their enemies, nor will I loathe them to the point of utterly destroying them and thus break my covenant with them, because I am ADONAI their God.

45. அவர்களுடைய தேவனாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு, நான் புறஜாதிகளின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து அவர்களைப் புறப்படச்செய்து, அவர்களுடைய முன்னோர்களோடே நான் பண்ணின உடன்படிக்கையை அவர்கள்நிமித்தம் நினைவுகூருவேன்; நான் கர்த்தர் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

45. Rather, for their sakes, I will remember the covenant of their ancestors whom I brought out of the land of Egypt- with the nations watching- so that I might be their God; I am ADONAI.''

46. கர்த்தர் தமக்கும் இஸ்ரவேல் சந்ததியாருக்கும் நடுவே இருக்கும்படி மோசேயைக்கொண்டு, சீனாய்மலையின்மேல் கொடுத்த கட்டளைகளும் நியாயங்களும் இவைகளே.

46. These are the laws, rulings and teachings that ADONAI himself gave to the people of Isra'el on Mount Sinai through Moshe. [(RY: vi; LY: iv)]
