1. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரராகிய சபையார் எல்லாரும் ஏலிமைவிட்டுப் பிரயாணம்பண்ணி, எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட இரண்டாம் மாதம் பதினைந்தாம் தேதியிலே, ஏலிமுக்கும் சீனாய்க்கும் நடுவே இருக்கிற சீன்வனாந்தரத்தில் சேர்ந்தார்கள்.

1. And they toke theyr iourney from Elim, & all the congregation of the chyldren of Israel came to the wildernes of Sin, whiche is betweene Elim & Sinai, the fyfteenth day of the seconde moneth after their departyng out of the lande of Egypt.

2. அந்த வனாந்தரத்திலே இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரராகிய சபையார் எல்லாரும் மோசேக்கும் ஆரோனுக்கும் விரோதமாக முறுமுறுத்து:

2. And the whole congregation of the chyldren of Israel murmured agaynst Moyses and Aaron in the wyldernesse.

3. நாங்கள் இறைச்சிப் பாத்திரங்களண்டையிலே உட்கார்ந்து அப்பத்தைத் திருப்தியாகச் சாப்பிட்ட எகிப்து தேசத்திலே, கர்த்தரின் கையால் செத்துப்போனோமானால் தாவிளை; இந்தக் கூட்டம் முழுவதையும் பட்டினியினால் கொல்லும்படி நீங்கள் எங்களைப் புறப்படப்பண்ணி, இந்த வனாந்தரத்திலே அழைத்துவந்தீர்களே என்று அவர்களிடத்தில் சொன்னார்கள்.

3. And the chyldren of Israel sayde vnto them: Woulde to God we had dyed by the hande of the Lorde in the lande of Egypt, whe we sate by the fleshe pottes, and when we dyd eate bread our bellies full: for ye haue brought vs out into this wildernesse, to kyl this whole multitude with hunger.

4. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நான் உங்களுக்கு வானத்திலிருந்து அப்பம் வருஷிக்கப்பண்ணுவேன்; ஜனங்கள் போய், ஒவ்வொரு நாளுக்கு வேண்டியதை ஒவ்வொரு நாளிலும் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டும்; அதினால் அவர்கள் என் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி நடப்பார்களோ நடக்கமாட்டார்களோ என்று அவர்களைச் சோதிப்பேன்.

4. Then sayde the Lorde vnto Moyses: Beholde, I wyll rayne bread from heauen to you, and the people shall go out & gather a certaine rate euery day, that I may proue them whether they wyll walke in my lawe, or no.

5. ஆறாம் நாளிலோ, அவர்கள் நாள்தோறும் சேர்க்கிறதைப்பார்க்கிலும் இரண்டத்தனையாய்ச் சேர்த்து, அதை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணி வைக்கக்கடவர்கள் என்றார்.

5. The sixt day they shall prepare for themselues that which they will bring in, and let it be twyse as muche as they gather in dayly.

6. அப்பொழுது மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எல்லாரையும் நோக்கி: கர்த்தர் உங்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினவர் என்பதைச் சாயங்காலத்தில் அறிவீர்கள்;

6. And Moyses and Aaron sayde vnto the chyldren of Israel: At euen ye shall know that it is the Lord which brought you out of the lande of Egypt.

7. விடியற்காலத்தில் கர்த்தருடைய மகிமையையும் காண்பீர்கள்; கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமான உங்கள் முறுமுறுப்புகளை அவர் கேட்டார்; நீங்கள் எங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் முறுமுறுக்கிறதற்கு நாங்கள் எம்மாத்திரம் என்றார்கள்.

7. And in the morning ye shal see the glorye of the Lorde, because he hath heard your grudgynges agaynst the Lorde: And what are we, that ye haue murmured agaynst vs?

8. பின்னும் மோசே: சாயங்காலத்தில் நீங்கள் புசிக்கிறதற்குக் கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு இறைச்சியையும், விடியற்காலத்தில் நீங்கள் திருப்தியடைகிறதற்கு அப்பத்தையும் கொடுக்கையில் இது விளங்கும்; கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாக நீங்கள் முறுமுறுத்த உங்கள் முறுமுறுப்புகளை அவர் கேட்டார்; நாங்கள் எம்மாத்திரம்? உங்கள் முறுமுறுப்புகள் எங்களுக்கு அல்ல, கர்த்தருக்கே விரோதமாய் இருக்கிறது என்றான்.

8. And Moyses sayde: At euen shall the Lord geue you fleshe to eate, and in the mornyng bread inough, for the Lorde hath heard your murmuringes which ye murmure agaynst him: for what are we? Your murmurings are not against vs, but agaynst the Lorde.

9. அப்பொழுது மோசே ஆரோனைப் பார்த்து: நீ இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரராகிய சபையார் எல்லாரையும் நோக்கி: கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் சேருங்கள், அவர் உங்கள் முறுமுறுப்புகளைக் கேட்டார் என்று சொல் என்றான்.

9. And Moyses spake vnto Aaron: say vnto al the congregation of the children of Israel, come foorth before the Lord: for he hath hearde your grudgynges.

10. ஆரோன் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரராகிய சபையாருக்கெல்லாம் இதைச் சொல்லுகிறபோது, அவர்கள் வனாந்தரதிசையாகத் திரும்பிப்பார்த்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை மேகத்திலே காணப்பட்டது.

10. And as Aaron spake vnto the whole congregation of the chyldren of Israel, they looked towarde the wyldernesse, and beholde, the glory of the Lorde appeared in the cloude.

11. கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

11. And the Lorde spake vnto Moyses, saying:

12. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் முறுமுறுப்புகளைக் கேட்டிருக்கிறேன்; நீ அவர்களோடே பேசி, நீங்கள் சாயங்காலத்தில் இறைச்சியைப் புசித்து, விடியற்காலத்தில் அப்பத்தால் திருப்தியாகி, நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என்பதை அறிந்துகொள்வீர்கள் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

12. I haue hearde the murmuringes of the children of Israel, tell them therfore and say: at euen ye shall eate fleshe, and in the mornyng ye shalbe fylled with bread, and ye shall knowe that I am the Lorde your God.

13. சாயங்காலத்தில் காடைகள் வந்து விழுந்து பாளயத்தை மூடிக்கொண்டது. விடியற்காலத்தில் பாளயத்தைச் சுற்றி பனி பெய்திருந்தது.

13. And at euen the quailes came vp and couered the tentes, and in the mornyng the deawe lay rounde about them.

14. பெய்திருந்த பனி நீங்கினபின், இதோ, வனாந்தரத்தின்மீதெங்கும் உருட்சியான ஒரு சிறிய வஸ்து உறைந்த பனிக்கட்டிப் பொடியத்தனையாய்த் தரையின்மேல் கிடந்தது.

14. And when the deawe was gone, beholde, vpon the grounde in the wyldernesse there lay a small rounde thyng, as small as the hoare frost on the ground.

15. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அதைக் கண்டு, அது இன்னது என்று அறியாதிருந்து, ஒருவரை ஒருவர் பார்த்து, இது என்ன என்றார்கள்; அப்பொழுது மோசே அவர்களை நோக்கி: இது கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குப் புசிக்கக்கொடுத்த அப்பம்.

15. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said euery one to his neighbour, it is Manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moyses said vnto the: This is the bread whiche the Lorde hath geuen you to eate.

16. கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிடுகிறது என்னவென்றால், அவரவர் புசிக்கும் அளவுக்குத் தக்கதாக அதில் எடுத்துச் சேர்க்கக்கடவீர்கள்; உங்களிலுள்ள ஆத்துமாக்களின் இலக்கத்தின்படி, அவனவன் தன் தன் கூடாரத்தில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்காக தலைக்கு ஒரு ஓமர் அளவு எடுத்துக்கொள்ளக்கடவன் என்றான்.

16. This is the worde whiche the Lorde hath commaunded: gather of it euerye man for him selfe for to eate, a gomer full for euery man, according to the number of your soules, and take euery man for them whiche are in his tentes.

17. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அப்படியே செய்து, சிலர் மிகுதியாயும் சிலர் கொஞ்சமாயும் சேர்த்தார்கள்.

17. And the children of Israel did euen so, and gathered some more, some lesse.

18. பின்பு, அதை ஓமரால் அளந்தார்கள்: மிகுதியாய்ச் சேர்த்தவனுக்கு மீதியானதும் இல்லை, கொஞ்சமாய்ச் சேர்த்தவனுக்குக் குறைவானதும் இல்லை; அவரவர் தாங்கள் புசிக்கும் அளவுக்குத்தக்கதாகச் சேர்த்தார்கள்.
2 கொரிந்தியர் 8:15

18. And when they did meate it with a gomer, vnto him that gathered much, remayned nothyng ouer, and vnto hym that had gathered litle, was there no lacke: euery man gathered sufficient for his eatyng.

19. மோசே அவர்களை நோக்கி: ஒருவனும் விடியற்காலம்மட்டும் அதில் ஒன்றும் வைக்கக்கூடாது என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லியும்;

19. And Moyses sayde vnto them: see that no man let ought remayne to the mornyng.

20. மோசேயின் சொல் கேளாமல், சிலர் அதில் விடியற்காலம்மட்டும் கொஞ்சம் மீதியாய் வைத்தார்கள்; அது பூச்சி பிடித்து நாற்றமெடுத்தது. அவர்கள்மேல் மோசே கோபங்கொண்டான்.

20. Notwithstanding, they hearkened not vnto Moyses: but some of them left of it vntill the mornyng, and it waxed full of wormes, & corrupted: and Moyses was angry with them.

21. அதை விடியற்காலந்தோறும் அவரவர் புசிக்கும் அளவுக்குத்தக்கதாகச் சேர்த்தார்கள், வெயில் ஏறஏற அது உருகிப்போகும்.

21. And they gathered all mornynges euery man as muche as sufficed for his eatyng: and assoone as the heate of the sunne came, it moult.

22. ஆறாம் நாளில் தலைக்கு இரண்டு ஓமர் வீதமாக இரண்டத்தனையாய் ஆகாரம் சேர்த்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது சபையின் தலைவர் எல்லாரும் வந்து, அதை மோசேக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.

22. And the sixt day they gathered twise as muche bread, two gomers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and tolde Moyses.

23. அவன் அவர்களை நோக்கி: கர்த்தர் சொன்னது இதுதான்; நாளைக்குக் கர்த்தருக்குரிய பரிசுத்த ஓய்வுநாளாகிய ஓய்வு; நீங்கள் சுடவேண்டியதைச் சுட்டு, வேவிக்கவேண்டியதை வேவித்து, மீதியாயிருக்கிறதையெல்லாம் நாளைமட்டும் உங்களுக்காக வைத்துவையுங்கள் என்றான்.

23. He sayd vnto them, This is that whiche the Lorde hath sayd: To morowe is the rest of the holy sabboth vnto the Lorde, bake that whiche you will bake to day, and sethe that ye will sethe, and that whiche remayneth, lay vp tyll the mornyng.

24. மோசே கட்டளையிட்டபடியே, அதை மறுநாள்வரைக்கும் வைத்துவைத்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அது நாறவும் இல்லை, அதிலே பூச்சிபிடிக்கவும் இல்லை.

24. And they layed it vp till the morning as Moyses bad: and it did not corrupt, neyther bred there any worme therein.

25. அப்பொழுது மோசே; அதை இன்றைக்குப் புசியுங்கள்; இன்று கர்த்தருக்குரிய ஓய்வுநாள்; இன்று நீங்கள் அதை வெளியிலே காணமாட்டீர்கள்.

25. And Moyses sayde: eate that to day, for it is the sabboth vnto the Lorde, to day ye shall not finde it in the fielde.

26. ஆறுநாளும் அதைச் சேர்ப்பீர்களாக; ஏழாம்நாள் ஓய்வுநாளாயிருக்கிறது; அதிலே அது உண்டாயிராது என்றான்.

26. Sixe dayes ye shall gather it, and in the seuenth day whiche is the sabboth, in it there shalbe none.

27. ஏழாம்நாளில் ஜனங்களில் சிலர் அதைச் சேர்க்கப் புறப்பட்டார்கள்; அவர்கள் அதைக் காணவில்லை.

27. Notwithstandyng, there went out some of the people in the seuenth day for to gather, and they founde none.

28. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: என் கட்டளைகளையும் என் பிரமாணங்களையும் கைக்கொள்ள எந்தமட்டும் மனதில்லாதிருப்பீர்கள்?

28. And the Lorde sayde vnto Moyses: Howe long refuse ye to kepe my commaundementes and my lawes?

29. பாருங்கள், கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு ஓய்வுநாளை அருளினபடியால், அவர் உங்களுக்கு ஆறாம்நாளில் இரண்டு நாளுக்கு வேண்டிய ஆகாரத்தைக் கொடுக்கிறார்; ஏழாம்நாளில் உங்களில் ஒருவனும் தன்தன் ஸ்தானத்திலிருந்து புறப்படாமல், அவனவன் தன்தன் ஸ்தானத்திலே இருக்கவேண்டும் என்றார்.

29. See, the Lorde hath geuen you a sabboth, therfore he geueth you the sixt day bread for two dayes: byde therfore euerye man at home, and let no man go out of his place the seuenth day.

30. அப்படியே ஜனங்கள் ஏழாம்நாளில் ஓய்ந்திருந்தார்கள்.

30. And the people rested the seuenth day.

31. இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தார் அதற்கு மன்னா என்று பேரிட்டார்கள்; அது கொத்துமல்லி அளவாயும் வெண்மைநிறமாயும் இருந்தது, அதின் ருசி தேனிட்ட பணிகாரத்திற்கு ஒப்பாயிருந்தது.

31. And the house of Israel called the name therof Manna: and it was like coriander seede, but yet whyte, and the taste of it was lyke wafers made with honye.

32. அப்பொழுது மோசே: கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்ட காரியம் என்னவென்றால், நான் உங்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினபோது, வனாந்தரத்தில் உங்களுக்குப் புசிக்கக்கொடுத்த அப்பத்தை உங்கள் சந்ததியார் பார்க்கும்படிக்கு, அவர்களுக்காக அதைப் காப்பதற்கு, அதிலே ஒரு ஓமர் நிறைய எடுத்து வைக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.

32. And Moyses sayd: this is that which the Lorde commaundeth, fill a gomer of it, whiche may be kept for your chyldren after you, that they may see the bread wherwith I haue fed you in the wyldernesse when I brought you out of the lande of Egypt.

33. மேலும், மோசே ஆரோனை நோக்கி: நீ ஒரு கலசத்தை எடுத்து, அதிலே ஒரு ஓமர் அளவு மன்னாவைப் போட்டு, அதை உங்கள் சந்ததியாருக்காகக் காப்பதற்குக் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியிலே வை என்றான்.
எபிரேயர் 9:4

33. And Moyses spake vnto Aaron: Take a pot, and put a gomer full of Manna therein, and lay it vp before the Lorde, to be kept for your children after you.

34. கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே அது காக்கப்படும்படி ஆரோன் அதைச் சாட்சி சந்நிதியில் வைத்தான்.

34. As the Lorde commaunded Moyses, so Aaron layde it vp before the testimonie to be kept.

35. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் குடியிருப்பான தேசத்துக்கு வருமட்டும் நாற்பது வருஷமளவும் மன்னாவைப் புசித்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் கானான் தேசத்தின் எல்லையில் சேரும்வரைக்கும் மன்னாவைப் புசித்தார்கள்.

35. And the chyldren of Israel dyd eate Manna fourtie yeres, vntil thei came to a land inhabited, and so they did eate Manna, euen vntill they came vnto the borders of the lande of Chanaan.

36. A gomer, is the tenth part of an epha.
