1. கர்த்தாவே, என் சத்துருக்கள் என்னை மேற்கொண்டு மகிழவொட்டாமல், நீர் என்னைக் கைதூக்கி எடுத்தபடியினால், நான் உம்மைப் போற்றுவேன்.

1. A Psalm of David: dedication-song of the house. I will extol thee, Jehovah; for thou hast delivered me, and hast not made mine enemies to rejoice over me.

2. என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, உம்மை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டேன், என்னை நீர் குணமாக்கினீர்.

2. Jehovah my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

3. கர்த்தாவே, நீர் என் ஆத்துமாவைப் பாதாளத்திலிருந்து ஏறப்பண்ணி, நான் குழியில் இறங்காதபடி என்னை உயிரோடே காத்தீர்.

3. Jehovah, thou hast brought up my soul from Sheol, thou hast quickened me from among those that go down to the pit.

4. கர்த்தருடைய பரிசுத்தவான்களே, அவரைக் கீர்த்தனம்பண்ணி, அவருடைய பரிசுத்தத்தின் நினைவு கூருதலைக் கொண்டாடுங்கள்.

4. Sing psalms unto Jehovah, ye saints of his, and give thanks in remembrance of his holiness.

5. ஏனெனில் அவருடைய கோபம் ஒர் இமைப்பொழுதே, அவருடைய தயவோ ஆயுள் காலம் வரை; சாயங்காலத்தில் அழுகை தங்கும், விடியற்காலத்திலே களிப்புண்டாகும்.

5. For a moment [is passed] in his anger, a life in his favour; at even weeping cometh for the night, and at morn there is rejoicing.

6. நான் ஒருக்காலும் அசைக்கப்படுவதில்லையென்று, என்று, நான் வளமுடன் இருக்கையில் சொன்னேன்.

6. As for me, I said in my prosperity, I shall never be moved.

7. கர்த்தாவே, உம்முடைய தயவினால் நீர் என் பர்வதத்தைத் திடமாய் நிற்கப்பண்ணியிருந்தீர்; உமது முகத்தை நீர் மறைத்துக்கொண்டபோதோ நான் கலங்கினவனானேன்;

7. Jehovah, by thy favour thou hadst made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face; I was troubled.

8. நான் குழியில் இறங்குகையில் என் இரத்தத்தால் என்ன லாபமுண்டு? புழுதி உம்மைத் துதிக்குமோ? அது உமது சத்தியத்தை அறிவிக்குமோ?

8. I called to thee, Jehovah, and unto the Lord did I make supplication:

9. கர்த்தாவே, நீ எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து என்மேல் இரக்கமாயிரும்; கர்த்தாவே, நீர் எனக்குச் சகாயராயிரும் என்று சொல்லி;

9. What profit is there in my blood, in my going down to the pit? shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

10. கர்த்தாவே, உம்மை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டேன்; கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கெஞ்சினேன்.

10. Hear, O Jehovah, and be gracious unto me; Jehovah, be my helper.

11. என் புலம்பலை ஆனந்தக்களிப்பாக மாறப்பண்ணினீர்; என் மகிமை அமைதியாய் இராமல் உம்மைக் கீர்த்தனம்பண்ணும்படியாக நீர் என் இரட்டைக் களைந்துபோட்டு, மகிழ்ச்சியினால் என்னை இடைகட்டினீர்.

11. Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing; thou hast loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

12. என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, உம்மை என்றென்றைக்கும் துதிப்பேன்.

12. That [my] glory may sing psalms of thee, and not be silent. Jehovah my God, I will praise thee for ever.
