1. கர்த்தரைத் துதியுங்கள்; அவர் நல்லவர், அவர் கிருபை என்றுமுள்ளது.

2. Let those redeemed by ADONAI say it, those he redeemed from the power of the foe.

3. கிழக்கிலும் மேற்கிலும் வடக்கிலும் தெற்கிலுமுள்ள பல தேசங்களிலுமிருந்து சேர்க்கப்பட்டவர்கள், அப்படிச் சொல்லக்கடவர்கள்.

3. He gathered them from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.

4. அவர்கள் தாபரிக்கும் ஊரைக்காணாமல், வனாந்தரத்திலே அவாந்தரவழியாய்,

4. They wandered in the desert, on paths through the wastes, without finding any inhabited city.

5. பசியாகவும், தாகமாகவும், ஆத்துமா தொய்ந்ததாகவும் அலைந்து திரிந்தார்கள்.

5. They were hungry and thirsty, their life was ebbing away.

6. தங்கள் ஆபத்திலே கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டார்கள், அவர்கள் இக்கட்டுகளிலிருந்து அவர்களை விடுவித்தார்.

6. In their trouble they cried to ADONAI, and he rescued them from their distress.

7. தாபரிக்கும் ஊருக்குப்போய்ச்சேர, அவர்களைச் செவ்வையான வழியிலே நடத்தினார்.

7. He led them by a direct path to a city where they could live.

8. தவனமுள்ள ஆத்துமாவைக் கர்த்தர் திருப்தியாக்கி, பசியுள்ள ஆத்துமாவை நன்மையினால் நிரப்புகிறாரென்று,

8. Let them give thanks to ADONAI for his grace, for his wonders bestowed on humanity!

9. அவருடைய கிருபையினிமித்தமும், மனுபுத்திரருக்கு அவர் செய்கிற அதிசயங்களினிமித்தமும் அவரைத் துதிப்பார்களாக.

10. தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணி, உன்னதமானவருடைய ஆலோசனையை அசட்டைபண்ணினவர்கள்,

10. Some lived in darkness, in death-dark gloom, bound in misery and iron chains,

11. அந்தகாரத்திலும் மரண இருளிலும் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்து, ஒடுக்கத்திலும் இரும்பிலும் கட்டுண்டு கிடந்தார்கள்.

11. because they defied God's word, scorned the counsel of the Most High.

12. அவர்களுடைய இருதயத்தை அவர் வருத்தத்தால் தாழ்த்தினார்; சகாயரில்லாமல் விழுந்து போனார்கள்.

12. So he humbled their hearts by hard labor; when they stumbled, no one came to their aid.

13. தங்கள் ஆபத்திலே கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டார்கள்; அவர்கள் இக்கட்டுகளிலிருந்து அவர்களை நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சித்தார்.

13. In their trouble they cried to ADONAI, and he rescued them from their distress.

14. அந்தகாரத்திலும் மரணஇருளிலுமிருந்து அவர்களை வெளிப்படப்பண்ணி, அவர்கள் கட்டுகளை அறுத்தார்.

14. He led them from darkness, from death-dark gloom, shattering their chains.

15. கர்த்தர் வெண்கலக் கதவுகளை உடைத்து, இருப்புத் தாழ்ப்பாள்களை முறித்தாரென்று,

15. Let them give thanks to ADONAI for his grace, for his wonders bestowed on humanity!

16. அவருடைய கிருபையினிமித்தமும், மனுபுத்திரருக்கு அவர் செய்கிற அதிசயங்களினிமித்தமும் அவரைத் துதிப்பார்களாக.

16. For he shattered bronze doors and cut through iron bars.

17. நிர்மூடர் தங்கள் பாதகமார்க்கத்தாலும் தங்கள் அக்கிரமங்களாலும் நோய்கொண்டு ஒடுங்கிப்போகிறார்கள்.

17. There were foolish people who suffered affliction because of their crimes and sins;

18. அவர்கள் ஆத்துமா சகல போஜனத்தையும் அரோசிக்கிறது, அவர்கள் மரணவாசல்கள் பரியந்தம் சமீபிக்கிறார்கள்.

18. they couldn't stand to eat anything; they were near the gates of death.

19. தங்கள் ஆபத்திலே கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் இக்கட்டுகளுக்கு அவர்களை நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சிக்கிறார்.

19. In their trouble they cried to ADONAI, and he rescued them from their distress;

22. Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and proclaim his great deeds with songs of joy.

23. கப்பலேறி, கடல்யாத்திரைபண்ணி, திரளான தண்ணீர்களிலே தொழில் செய்கிறார்களே,

23. Those who go down to the sea in ships, plying their trade on the great ocean,

24. அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய கிரியைகளையும், ஆழத்திலே அவருடைய அதிசயங்களையும் காண்கிறார்கள்.

24. saw the works of ADONAI, his wonders in the deep.

25. அவர் கட்டளையிட பெருங்காற்று எழும்பி, அதின் அலைகளைக் கொந்தளிக்கப்பண்ணும்.

25. For at his word the storm-wind arose, lifting up towering waves.

26. அவர்கள் ஆகாயத்தில் ஏறி, ஆழங்களில் இறங்குகிறார்கள், அவர்கள் ஆத்துமா கிலேசத்தினால் கரைந்துபோகிறது.

26. The sailors were raised up to the sky, then plunged into the depths. At the danger, their courage failed them,

27. வெறித்தவனைப்போல் அலைந்து தடுமாறுகிறார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய ஞானமெல்லாம் முழுகிப்போகிறது.

27. they reeled and staggered like drunk men, and all their skill was swallowed up.

28. அப்பொழுது தங்கள் ஆபத்திலே அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறார்கள், அவர்கள் இக்கட்டுகளுக்கு அவர்களை நீங்கலாக்கி விடுவிக்கிறார்.

28. In their trouble they cried to ADONAI, and he rescued them from their distress.

29. கொந்தளிப்பை அமர்த்துகிறார், அதின் அலைகள் அடங்குகின்றது.

29. He silenced the storm and stilled its waves,

30. அமைதலுண்டானதினிமித்தம் அவர்கள் சந்தோஷப்படுகிறார்கள்; தாங்கள் நாடின துறைமுகத்தில் அவர்களைக் கொண்டுவந்து சேர்க்கிறார்.

30. and they rejoiced as the sea grew calm. Then he brought them safely to their desired port.

31. அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை அவருடைய கிருபையினிமித்தமும், மனுபுத்திரருக்கு அவர் செய்கிற அதியசயங்களினிமித்தமும் துதித்து,

31. Let them give thanks to ADONAI for his grace, for his wonders bestowed on humanity!

32. ஜனங்களின் சபையிலே அவரை உயர்த்தி, மூப்பர்களின் சங்கத்திலே அவரைப் போற்றுவார்களாக.

32. Let them extol him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the leaders' council.

33. அவர் ஆறுகளை அவாந்தரவெளியாகவும், நீரூற்றுகளை வறண்ட ஸ்தலமாகவும்,

33. He turns rivers into desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground,

34. குடிகளுடைய பொல்லாப்பினிமித்தம் செழிப்பான தேசத்தை உவர் நிலமாகவும் மாற்றுகிறார்.

34. productive land into salt flats, because the people living there are so wicked.

35. அவர் அவாந்தரவெளியைத் தண்ணீர்த்தடாகமாகவும், வறண்ட நிலத்தை நீரூற்றுகளாகவும் மாற்றி,

35. But he also turns desert into pools of water, dry land into flowing springs;

36. பசித்தவர்களை அங்கே குடியேற்றுகிறார்; அங்கே அவர்கள் குடியிருக்கும் நகரத்தைக் கட்டி,

36. there he gives the hungry a home, and they build a city to live in;

37. வயல்களை உண்டாக்கி விதைத்து, திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களை நாட்டுகிறார்கள், அவைகள் வரத்துள்ள பலனைத் தரும்.

37. there they sow fields and plant vineyards, which yield an abundant harvest.

38. அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறார், மிகுதியும் பெருகுகிறார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய மிருகஜீவன்கள் குறையாதிருக்கப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

38. He blesses them, their numbers grow, and he doesn't let their livestock decrease.

39. பின்பு அவர்கள் இடுக்கத்தினாலும், ஆபத்தினாலும், துயரத்தினாலும் குறைவுபட்டுத் தாழ்வடைகிறார்கள்.

39. When their numbers fall, and they grow weak, because of oppression, disaster and sorrow,

40. அவர் பிரபுக்களின்மேல் இகழ்ச்சிவரப்பண்ணி, வழியில்லாத அவாந்தர வெளியிலே அவர்களைத் திரியச்செய்து,

40. he pours contempt on princes and leaves them to wander in trackless wastes.

41. எளியவனையோ சிறுமையினின்று எடுத்து, உயர்ந்த அடைக்கலத்திலே வைத்து, அவன் வம்சங்களை மந்தையைப்போலாக்குகிறார்.

41. But the needy he raises up from their distress and increases their families like sheep.

42. உத்தமர்கள் அதைக்கண்டு மகிழுவார்கள்; நியாயக்கேடெல்லாம் தன் வாயை மூடும்.

42. When the upright see this, they rejoice; while the wicked are reduced to silence.

43. எவன் ஞானமுள்ளவனோ அவன் இவைகளைக் கவனிக்கக்கடவன்; ஞானவான்கள் கர்த்தருடைய கிருபைகளை உணர்ந்துகொள்வார்கள்.

43. Let whoever is wise observe these things and consider ADONAI's loving deeds.
