1. கர்த்தாவே, ஏன் தூரத்தில் நிற்கிறீர்? துன்பம் நேரிடுகிற சமயங்களில் நீர் ஏன் மறைந்திருக்கிறீர்?

1. Why standest thou farre off, O Lord, and hidest thee in due time, euen in affliction?

2. துன்மார்க்கன் தன் பெருமையினால் சிறுமைப்பட்டவனைக் கடூரமாய்த் துன்பப்படுத்துகிறான்; அவர்கள் நினைத்த சதிமோசங்களில் அவர்களே அகப்படுவார்கள்.

2. The wicked with pride doeth persecute the poore: let them be taken in the craftes that they haue imagined.

3. துன்மார்க்கன் தன் உள்ளத்தின் இச்சையில் பெருமை பாராட்டுகிறான், பொருளை அபகரிக்கிறவன் கர்த்தரைச் சபித்து அசட்டைபண்ணுகிறான்.

3. For the wicked hath made boast of his owne heartes desire, and the couetous blesseth himselfe: he contemneth the Lord.

4. துன்மார்க்கன் தன் கர்வத்தினால் தேவனைத் தேடான்; அவன் நினைவுகளெல்லாம் தேவன் இல்லை என்பதே.

4. The wicked is so proude that hee seeketh not for God: hee thinketh alwayes, There is no God.

5. அவன் வழிகள் எப்போதும் கேடுள்ளவைகள்; உம்முடைய நியாயத்தீர்ப்புகள் அவன் பார்வைக்கு எட்டாமல் மிகவும் உயரமாயிருக்கின்றன; தன் எதிராளிகள் எல்லார்மேலும் சீறுகிறான்.

5. His wayes alway prosper: thy iudgements are hie aboue his sight: therefore defieth he all his enemies.

6. "நான் அசைக்கப்படுவதில்லை, தலைமுறை தலைமுறைதோறும் தீங்கு என்னை அணுகுவதில்லை" என்று தன் இருதயத்தில் சொல்லிக்கொள்ளுகிறான்.

6. He saith in his heart, I shall neuer be moued, nor be in danger.

7. அவன் வாய் சபிப்பினாலும் கபடத்தினாலும் கொடுமையினாலும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது; அவன் நாவின்கீழ் தீவினையும் அக்கிரமமும் உண்டு.

7. His mouth is full of cursing and deceite and fraude: vnder his tongue is mischiefe and iniquitie.

8. கிராமங்களின் ஒளிப்பிடங்களிலே பதிவிருந்து, மறைவிடங்களிலே குற்றமற்றவனைக் கொல்லுகிறான்; திக்கற்றவர்களைப் பிடிக்க அவன் கண்கள் நோக்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றன.

8. He lieth in waite in the villages: in the secret places doeth hee murder the innocent: his eyes are bent against the poore.

9. தன் கெபியிலிருக்கிற சிங்கத்தைப்போல மறைவில் பதிவிருக்கிறான்; ஏழையைப் பிடிக்கப் பதிவிருந்து, அவனைத் தன் வலைக்குள் இழுத்துப் பிடித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறான்.

9. He lyeth in waite secretly, euen as a lyon in his denne: he lyeth in waite to spoyle the poore: he doeth spoyle the poore, when he draweth him into his net.

10. திக்கற்றவர்கள் தன் பலவான்கள் கையில் விழும்படி அவன் பதுங்கிக் கிடக்கிறான்.

10. He croucheth and boweth: therefore heaps of the poore doe fall by his might.

11. " தேவன் அதை மறந்தார் என்று, அவர் தம்முடைய முகத்தை மறைத்து, ஒருக்காலும் அதைக் காணமாட்டார்" என்றும், தன் இருதயத்திலே சொல்லிகொள்ளுகிறான்.

11. He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten, he hideth away his face, and will neuer see.

12. கர்த்தாவே, எழுந்தருளும்; தேவனே, உம்முடைய கையை உயர்த்தும்; சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களை மறவாதேயும்.

12. Arise, O Lord God: lift vp thine hande: forget not the poore.

13. துன்மார்க்கன் தேவனை அசட்டைபண்ணி, "நீர் கேட்டு விசாரிப்பதில்லை" என்று தன் இருதயத்தில் சொல்லிக்கொள்வானேன்?

13. Wherefore doeth the wicked contemne God? he saith in his heart, Thou wilt not regard.

14. அதைப் பார்த்திருக்கிறீரே! உபத்திரவத்தையும் குரோதத்தையும் கவனித்திருக்கிறீரே; நீர் பதிலளிப்பீர்; ஏழையானவன் தன்னை உமக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கிறான்; திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைகளுக்குச் சகாயர் நீரே.

14. Yet thou hast seene it: for thou beholdest mischiefe and wrong, that thou mayest take it into thine handes: the poore committeth himselfe vnto thee: for thou art the helper of the fatherlesse.

15. துன்மார்க்கனும் பொல்லாதவனுமாயிருக்கிறவனுடைய புயத்தை முறித்துவிடும்; அவனுடைய துன்மார்கம் காணாமற்போகுமட்டும் அதைத் தேடி விசாரியும்.

15. Breake thou the arme of the wicked and malicious: searche his wickednes, and thou shalt finde none.

16. கர்த்தர் சதாகாலங்களுக்கும் இராஜாவாயிருக்கிறார்; புறஜாதியார் அவருடைய தேசத்திலிருந்து அழிந்து போவார்கள்.

16. The Lord is King for euer and euer: the heathen are destroyed foorth of his land.

17. கர்த்தாவே, சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களுடைய வேண்டுதலைக் கேட்டிருக்கிறீர்; அவர்கள் இருதயத்தை ஸ்திரப்படுத்துவீர்.

17. Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the poore: thou preparest their heart: thou bendest thine eare to them,

18. மண்ணான மனுஷன் இனிப் பலவந்தஞ்செய்யத் தொடராதபடிக்கு, தேவரீர் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் ஒடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்கும் நீதிசெய்ய உம்முடைய செவியைச் சாய்த்துக் கேட்டருளுவீர்.

18. To iudge the fatherlesse and poore, that earthly man cause to feare no more.
