1. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர்: பெருங்காற்றிலிருந்து யோபுக்கு உத்தரவாக:

1. Then Yahweh responded to Job, out of a storm, and said:

2. அறிவில்லாத வார்த்தைகளினால் ஆலோசனையை அந்தகாரப்படுத்துகிற இவன் யார்?

2. Who is it that darkeneth counsel, by words, without knowledge?

3. இப்போதும் புருஷனைப்போல் இடைகட்டிக்கொள்; நான் உன்னைக்கேட்பேன்; நீ எனக்கு உத்தரவு சொல்லு.
லூக்கா 12:35

3. Gird, I pray thee like a strong man thy loins, that I may ask thee, and inform thou me:

4. நான் பூமியை அஸ்திபாரப்படுத்துகிறபோது நீ எங்கேயிருந்தாய்? நீ அறிவாளியானால் அதை அறிவி.

4. Where wast thou, when I founded the earth? Tell, if thou knowest understanding!

5. அதற்கு அளவு குறித்தவர் யார்? அதின்மேல் நூல்போட்டவர் யார்? இதை நீ அறிந்திருந்தால் சொல்லு.

5. Who set the measurements thereof, if thou knowest? Or who stretched out over it a line?

6. அதின் ஆதாரங்கள் எதின்மேல் போடப்பட்டது? அதின் கோடிக்கல்லை வைத்தவர் யார்?

6. Whereon were the pedestals thereof sunk? Or who laid the corner stone thereof;

7. அப்பொழுது விடியற்காலத்து நட்சத்திரங்கள் ஏகமாய்ப்பாடி, தேவபுத்திரர் எல்லாரும் கெம்பீரித்தார்களே.

7. When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

8. கர்ப்பத்திலிருந்து உதிக்கிறதுபோல் சமுத்திரம் புரண்டுவந்தபோது, அதைக் கதவுகளால் அடைத்தவர் யார்?

8. Or who shut in, with double doors, the sea, when, bursting out of the womb, it came forth;

9. மேகத்தை அதற்கு வஸ்திரமாகவும், இருளை அதற்குப் புடவையாகவும் நான் உடுத்தினபோதும்,

9. When I put a cloud as the garment thereof, and a thick cloud as the swaddling-band thereof;

10. நான் அதற்கு எல்லையைக் குறித்து, அதற்குத் தாழ்ப்பாள்களையும் கதவுகளையும் போட்டு:

10. And brake off for it my boundary, and fixed a bar and double doors;

11. இம்மட்டும் வா, மிஞ்சி வராதே; உன் அலைகளின் பெருமை இங்கே அடங்கக்கடவது என்று நான் சொல்லுகிறபோதும் நீ எங்கேயிருந்தாய்?

11. And said Hitherto, shalt thou come, and no further, and, here, shalt thou set a limit to the majesty of thy waves?

12. துஷ்டர்கள் பூமியிலிருந்து உதறிப்போடப்படும்படிக்கு, அதின் கடையாந்தரங்களைப் பிடிக்கும்பொருட்டு,

12. Since thy days began hast thou commanded the morning? or caused the dawn to know its place;

13. உன் ஜீவகாலத்தில் எப்போதாவது நீ விடியற்காலத்துக்குக் கட்டளை கொடுத்து, அருணோதயத்துக்கு அதின் இடத்தைக் காண்பித்ததுண்டோ?

13. That it might lay hold of the wings of the earth, and the lawless be shaken out of it?

14. பூமி முத்திரையிடப்பட்ட களிமண்போல் வேறே ரூபங்கொள்ளும்; சகலமும் வஸ்திரம் தரித்திருக்கிறது போல் காணப்படும்.

14. It transformeth itself like the clay of a seal, so that things stand forth like one arrayed;

15. துன்மார்க்கரின் ஒளி அவர்களை விட்டு எடுபடும்; மேட்டிமையான புயம் முறிக்கப்படும்.

15. That their light may be withdrawn from the lawless, and, the lofty arm, be shivered.

16. நீ சமுத்திரத்தின் அடித்தலங்கள்மட்டும் புகுந்து, ஆழத்தின் அடியில் உலாவினதுண்டோ?

16. Hast thou entered as far as the springs of the sea? Or, through the secret recesses of the resounding deep, hast thou wandered?

17. மரணவாசல்கள் உனக்குத் திறந்ததுண்டோ? மரண இருளின் வாசல்களை நீ பார்த்ததுண்டோ?

17. Have the gates of death been disclosed to thee? And, the gates of the death-shade, couldst thou descry?

18. நீ பூமியின் விசாலங்களை ஆராய்ந்து அறிந்ததுண்டோ? இவைகளையெல்லாம் நீ அறிந்திருந்தால் சொல்லு.

18. Hast thou well considered, even the breadths of the earth? Tell if thou knowest it all!

19. வெளிச்சம் வாசமாயிருக்கும் இடத்துக்கு வழியெங்கே? இருள் குடிகொண்டிருக்கும் ஸ்தானமெங்கே?

19. Where then is the way, the light shall abide? And, the darkness, where then is its place?

20. அதின் எல்லை இன்னதென்று உனக்குத் தெரியுமோ? அதின் வீட்டுக்குப்போகிற பாதையை அறிந்திருக்கிறாயோ?

20. That thou mayest conduct it unto the bound thereof, and that thou mayest perceive the paths to its house.

21. நீ அதை அறியும்படி அப்போது பிறந்திருந்தாயோ? உன் நாட்களின் தொகை அவ்வளவு பெரிதோ?

21. Thou knowest, for, then, hadst thou been born! And, in number, thy days are many!

22. உறைந்த மழையின் பண்டசாலைகளுக்குள் நீ பிரவேசித்தாயோ? கல்மழையிலிருக்கிற பண்டசாலைகளைப் பார்த்தாயோ?

22. Hast thou entered into the treasuries of the snow? And, the treasuries of the hail, couldst thou see?

23. ஆபத்து வருங்காலத்திலும், கலகமும் யுத்தமும் வருங்காலத்திலும், பிரயோகிக்கும்படி நான் அவைகளை வைத்துவைத்திருக்கிறேன்.

23. Which I have reserved for a time of distress, for the day of conflict and of war?

24. வெளிச்சம் பரவப்படுகிறதற்கும், கீழ்காற்று பூமியின்மேல் வீசுகிறதற்குமான வழி எங்கே?

24. Where then is the way the lightning is parted? The east wind spreadeth itself abroad over the earth.

25. பாழும் அந்தரவெளியுமான தரையைத் திருப்தியாக்கி, இளம்பூண்டுகளின் முளைகளை முளைக்கப்பண்ணும்படி,

25. Who hath cloven for the torrent a channel? Or a way for the lightning of thunders;

26. பூமியெங்கும் மனுஷர் குடியில்லாத இடத்திலும், மனுஷசஞ்சாரமில்லாத வனாந்தரத்திலும் மழையை வருஷிக்கப்பண்ணி,

26. To give rain over the no-man's land, the desert, where no son of earth is;

27. வெள்ளத்துக்கு நீர்க்கால்களையும், இடிமுழக்கங்களோடு வரும் மின்னலுக்கு வழிகளையும் பகுத்தவர் யார்?

27. To satisfy the wild and the wilderness, to cause to spring forth the meadow of young grass?

28. மழைக்கு ஒரு தகப்பனுண்டோ? பனித்துளிகளை ஜநிப்பித்தவர் யார்?

28. Hath the rain a father? Or who hath begotten the drops of dew?

29. உறைந்த தண்ணீர் யாருடைய வயிற்றிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிறது? ஆகாயத்தினுடைய உறைந்த பனியைப் பெற்றவர் யார்?

29. Out of whose womb, came forth the ice? And, the hoar-frost of the heavens, who hath given it birth?

30. ஜலம் கல்லுருவங்கொண்டு மறைந்து, ஆழத்தின் முகம் கெட்டியாய் உறைந்திருக்கிறதே.

30. Like a stone, are the waters congealed, and, the face of the roaring deep, becometh firm!

31. அறுமீன் நட்சத்திரத்தின் சுகிர்த சம்பந்தத்தை நீ இணைக்கக்கூடுமோ? அல்லது மிருகசீரிஷத்தின் கட்டுகளை அவிழ்ப்பாயோ?

31. Canst thou bind the fetters of the Pleiades? Or, the bands of Orion, canst thou unloose?

32. இராசிகளை அதினதின் காலத்திலே வரப்பண்ணுவாயோ? துருவச்சக்கர நட்சத்திரத்தையும் அதைச் சேர்ந்த நட்சத்திரங்களையும் வழிநடத்துவாயோ?

32. Canst thou bring forth the signs of the Zodiac each in its season? Or, the Bear and her Young, canst thou lead?

33. வானத்தின் நியமங்களை நீ அறிவாயோ? அது பூமியையாளும் ஆளுகையை நீ திட்டம்பண்ணுவாயோ?

33. Knowest thou, the statutes of the heavens? Or didst thou appoint his dominion over the earth?

34. ஏராளமான தண்ணீர் உன்மேல் சொரியவேணும் என்று உன் சத்தத்தை மேகங்கள் பரியந்தம் உயர்த்துவாயோ?

34. Canst thou lift up, to the thick cloud, thy voice, and the overflow of waters cover thee?

35. நீ மின்னல்களை அழைத்தனுப்பி, அவைகள் புறப்பட்டுவந்து: இதோ, இங்கேயிருக்கிறோம் என்று உனக்குச் சொல்லும்படி செய்வாயோ?

35. Canst thou send forth the lightnings, so that they go, and say to thee, Behold us?

36. அந்தக்கரணங்களில் ஞானத்தை வைத்தவர் யார்? உள்ளத்தில் புத்தியைக் கொடுத்தவர் யார்?

36. Who hath put into cloud-forms wisdom? Or who hath given to the meteor understanding?

37. ஞானத்தினாலே கொடிமாசிகளை எண்ணுபவர் யார்?

37. Who can count the thin clouds, in wisdom? And, the bottles of the heavens, who can empty out;

38. தூளானது ஏகபாளமாகவும், மண்கட்டிகள் ஒன்றோடொன்று ஒட்டிக்கொள்ளவும், ஆகாயத்துருத்திகளிலுள்ள தண்ணீரைப் பொழியப்பண்ணுகிறவர் யார்?

38. When the dust is cast into a clod, and the lumps are bound together?

39. நீ சிங்கத்துக்கு இரையை வேட்டையாடி,

39. Wilt thou hunt for the Lioness prey? Or, the craving of the Strong Lion, wilt thou satisfy;

40. சிங்கக்குட்டிகள் தாங்கள் தங்கும் இடங்களிலே கிடந்து கெபியிலே பதிவிருக்கிறபோது, அவைகளின் ஆசையைத் திருப்தியாக்குவாயோ?

40. When they settle down in dens, abide in covert, for lying in wait?

41. காக்கைக்குஞ்சுகள் தேவனை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு, ஆகாரமில்லாமல் பறந்து அலைகிறபோது, அவைகளுக்கு இரையைச் சவதரித்துக் கொடுக்கிறவர் யார்?

41. Who prepareth for the Raven his nourishment, when his young ones unto GOD cry out, when they wander for lack of food?
