1. யோபு தன் பார்வைக்கு நீதிமானாயிருந்தபடியினால், அவனுக்கு அந்த மூன்று மனுஷரும் பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்லி ஓய்ந்தார்கள்.

1. And these three men cease from answering Job, for he [is] righteous in his own eyes,

2. அதினால் ராமின் வம்சத்தானான பூசியனாகிய பரகெயேலின் குமாரன் எலிகூவுக்குக் கோபம்மூண்டது, யோபு, தேவனைப்பார்க்கிலும் தன்னைத்தான் நீதிமானாக்கினதினிமித்தம், அவன்மேலும் அவனுக்குக் கோபம் மூண்டது.

2. and burn doth the anger of Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram; against Job hath his anger burned, because of his justifying himself more than God;

3. கொடுக்கத்தக்க மறுமொழி யோபின் மூன்று சிநேகிதருக்கும் அகப்படாதிருந்தும், அவர்கள் அவனை ஆகாதவனென்று தீர்த்ததினிமித்தம், அவர்கள்மேலும் அவனுக்குக் கோபம் மூண்டது.

3. and against his three friends hath his anger burned, because that they have not found an answer, and condemn Job.

4. அவர்கள் தன்னைப்பார்க்கிலும் வயதுசென்றவர்களானபடியினால், எலிகூ யோபின் வார்த்தைகள் முடிந்து தீருமட்டும் காத்திருந்தான்.

4. And Elihu hath waited earnestly beside Job with words, for they are older than he in days.

5. அந்த மூன்று மனுஷரின் வாயிலும் மறுஉத்தரவு பிறக்கவில்லையென்று எலிகூ கண்டபோது, அவனுக்குக் கோபம் மூண்டது.

5. And Elihu seeth that there is no answer in the mouth of the three men, and his anger burneth.

6. ஆதலால் பரகெயேலின் குமாரன் எலிகூ என்னும் பூசியன் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நான் இளவயதுள்ளவன், நீங்களோ விருத்தாப்பியர்; ஆகையால் நான் அஞ்சி, என் அபிப்பிராயத்தை உங்களுக்கு முன்பாக வெளிப்படுத்தப் பயந்திருந்தேன்.

6. And Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite answereth and saith: -- Young I [am] in days, and ye [are] age Therefore I have feared, And am afraid of shewing you my opinion.

7. முதியோர் பேசட்டும், வயது சென்றவர்கள் ஞானத்தை அறிவிக்கட்டும் என்றிருந்தேன்.

7. I said: Days do speak, And multitude of years teach wisdom.

8. ஆனாலும் மனுஷரில் ஒரு ஆவியுண்டு; சர்வவல்லவருடைய சுவாசமே அவர்களை உணர்வுள்ளவர்களாக்கும்.

8. Surely a spirit is in man, And the breath of the Mighty One Doth cause them to understand.

9. பெரியோரெல்லாம் ஞானிகளல்ல; முதியோரெல்லாம் நீதியை அறிந்தவர்களுமல்ல.

9. The multitude are not wise, Nor do the aged understand judgment.

10. ஆகையால் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள்; நானும் என் அபிப்பிராயத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன் என்றேன்.

10. Therefore I have said: Hearken to me, I do shew my opinion -- even I.

11. இதோ, உங்கள் வசனங்கள் முடியுமட்டும் காத்திருந்தேன்; நீங்கள் சொல்லத்தக்கதை ஆராய்ந்து தேடுமட்டும், உங்கள் நியாயங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தேன்.

11. Lo, I have waited for your words, I give ear unto your reasons, Till ye search out sayings.

12. நான் உங்கள் சொல்லைக் கவனித்தேன்; ஆனாலும் இதோ, உங்களில் யோபுக்கு நியாயத்தைத் தெரியக்காட்டி, அவருடைய வசனங்களுக்கு ஏற்ற பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்லுகிறவனில்லை.

12. And unto you I attend, And lo, there is no reasoner for Job, [Or] answerer of his sayings among you.

13. ஞானத்தைக் கண்டுபிடித்தோம் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்லாதபடி பாருங்கள்; மனுஷனல்ல, தேவனே அவரை ஜெயங்கொள்ளவேண்டும்.

13. Lest ye say, We have found wisdom, God doth thrust him away, not man.

14. அவர் என்னைப்பார்த்துப் பேசினதில்லை; நீங்கள் சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளினால் நான் அவருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்வதுமில்லை.

14. And he hath not set in array words for me, And with your sayings I do not answer him.

15. அவர்கள் கலங்கி அப்புறம் பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்லாதிருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்களுக்கு பேச்சு அற்றுப் போயிற்று.

15. (They have broken down, They have not answered again, They removed from themselves words.

16. அவர்கள் பேசார்களோ என்று காத்திருந்தேன்; ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் அப்புறம் மறுமொழி கொடாமலிருந்தபடியினால்,

16. And I have waited, but they do not speak, For they have stood still, They have not answered any more.)

17. நானும் பிரதியுத்தரமாக எனக்குத் தோன்றியமட்டும் சொல்லுவேன்; நானும் என் அபிப்பிராயத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன்.

17. I answer, even I -- my share, I shew my opinion -- even I.

18. வார்த்தைகள் எனக்குள் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது; என் உள்ளத்திலுள்ள ஆவி என்னை நெருக்கி ஏவுகிறது.

18. For I have been full of words, Distressed me hath the spirit of my breast,

19. இதோ, என் உள்ளம் அடைக்கப்பட்டிருந்து, புதுத் துருத்திகளை முதலாய்ப் பீறப்பண்ணுகிற புதுரசத்தைப் போலிருக்கிறது.

19. Lo, my breast [is] as wine not opened, Like new bottles it is broken up.

20. நான் ஆறுதலடையும்படி பேசுவேன்; என் உதடுகளைத் திறந்து பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்லுவேன்.

20. I speak, and there is refreshment to me, I open my lips and answer.

21. நான் ஒருவனுடைய முகத்தைப் பாராமலும், ஒரு மனுஷனுக்கும் இச்சகம் பேசாமலும் இருப்பேனாக.

21. Let me not, I pray you, accept the face of any, Nor unto man give flattering titles,

22. நான் இச்சகம் பேச அறியேன்; பேசினால் என்னை உண்டாக்கினவர் சீக்கிரமாய் என்னை எடுத்துக்கொள்வார்.

22. For I have not known to give flattering titles, In a little doth my Maker take me away.
