1. அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் யோசியாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாகாசை அழைத்து, அவனை எருசலேமிலே அவன் தகப்பன் ஸ்தானத்திலே ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள்.

1. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz, son of Josiah, and made him king instead of his father, in Jerusalem.

2. யோவாகாஸ் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்துமூன்று வயதாயிருந்து, மூன்று மாதம் எருசலேமில் அரசாண்டான்.

2. Twenty-three years old, was Joahaz when he began to reign, and, three months, reigned he in Jerusalem.

3. அவன் எருசலேமில் அரசாளாதபடிக்கு எகிப்தின் ராஜா அவனைத் தள்ளிவிட்டு, தேசத்தின்மேல் நூறு தாலந்து வெள்ளியும் ஒரு தாலந்து பொன்னுமான தண்டத்தைச் சுமத்தி,

3. And the king of Egypt deposed him in Jerusalem, and condemned the land, in a hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold.

4. அவனுடைய அண்ணனாகிய எலியாக்கீமை யூதாவின்மேலும் எருசலேமின்மேலும் ராஜாவாக்கி, அவன் பேரை யோயாக்கீம் என்று மாற்றினான்; அவன் தம்பியாகிய யோவாகாசை எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய நேகோ எகிப்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோனான்.

4. And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim, but Neco took, Joahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.

5. யோயாக்கீம் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தைந்து வயதாயிருந்து, பதினொரு வருஷம் எருசலேமில் அரசாண்டு, தன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

5. Twenty-five years old, was Jehoiakim when he began to reign, and, eleven years, reigned he in Jerusalem, and he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh his God.

6. அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் வந்து, அவனைப் பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுபோக இரண்டு வெண்கலச் சங்கிலியால் அவனைக் கட்டினான்.

6. Against him, came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters of bronze, to carry him to Babylon.

7. கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் பணிமுட்டுகளிலும் சிலவற்றை நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுபோய், அவைகளைப் பாபிலோனிலுள்ள தன்னுடைய கோவிலிலே வைத்தான்.

7. And, some of the utensils of the house of Yahweh, did Nebuchadnezzar carry to Babylon, and put them in his own temple in Babylon.

8. யோயாக்கீமுடைய மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவன் செய்ததும், அவனிடத்திலே கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டதுமான அவனுடைய அருவருப்புகளும், இஸ்ரவேல் யூதா ராஜாக்களின் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறது; அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் அவன் குமாரனாகிய யோயாக்கீன் ராஜாவானான்.

8. But, the rest of the story of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he made, and that which was found upon him, there they are, written in the book of the Kings of Israel and Judah, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

9. யோயாக்கீன் ராஜாவாகிறபோது எட்டு வயதாயிருந்து, மூன்று மாதமும் பத்து நாளும் எருசலேமில் அரசாண்டு, கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

9. Eight years old, was Jehoiachin when he began to reign, and, three months and ten days, reigned he in Jerusalem, and he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh;

10. மறுவருஷத்தின் ஆரம்பத்திலே நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் என்னும் ராஜா அவனையும், கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் திவ்வியமான பணிமுட்டுகளையும் பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுவரப்பண்ணி, அவன் சிறிய தகப்பனாகிய சிதேக்கியாவை யூதாவின்மேலும் எருசலேமின்மேலும் ராஜாவாக்கினான்.

10. and, when the year came round, King Nebuchadnezzar sent, and carried him to Babylon, with the precious utensils of the house of Yahweh, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.

11. சிதேக்கியா ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தொரு வயதாயிருந்து, பதினோரு வருஷம் எருசலேமில் அரசாண்டு,

11. Twenty-one years old, was Zedekiah when he began to reign, and, eleven years, reigned he in Jerusalem.

12. தன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்; அவன் கர்த்தருடைய வாக்கை உரைத்த எரேமியா என்கிற தீர்க்கதரிசிக்கு முன்பாகத் தன்னைத் தாழ்த்தவில்லை.

12. And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh his God, he humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet, from the mouth of Yahweh.

13. தேவன்மேல் தன்னை ஆணையிடுவித்துக்கொண்ட நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் என்னும் ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணி, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்துக்குத் திரும்பாதபடிக்கு, தன் கழுத்தை அழுத்தமாக்கி, தன் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தினான்.

13. Moreover also against King Nebuchadnezzar, he rebelled, who had made him swear by God, and he stiffened his neck, and emboldened his heart, from turning unto Yahweh, God of Israel.

14. ஆசாரியரில் பிரதானமானவர்கள் யாவரும் ஜனங்களும் கூடிப் புறஜாதிகளுடைய சகல அருவருப்புகளின்படியும் மிகவும் துரோகம்பண்ணி, கர்த்தர் எருசலேமிலே பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணின அவருடைய ஆலயத்தை தீட்டுப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

14. Also, all the rulers of the priests and of the people, abounded in committing treachery, according to all the abominable ways of the nations, and polluted the house of Yahweh, which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

15. அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது ஜனத்தையும் தமது வாசஸ்தலத்தையும் காப்பதற்கான இரக்கமுள்ளவராயிருந்தபடியால், அவர்களிடத்துக்குத் தம்முடைய ஸ்தானாபதிகளை ஏற்கெனவே அனுப்பினார்.

15. And, though Yahweh God of their fathers sent unto them through his messengers, zealously sending them, because he had compassion upon his people and upon his habitation,

16. yet became they mockers of the messengers of God, and despisers of his words, and mimics of his prophets, until the mounting up of the wrath of Yahweh against his people, until there was no healing.

17. ஆதலால் அவர் அவர்கள்மேல் கல்தேயரின் ராஜாவை வரப்பண்ணினார்; அவன் அவர்கள் வாலிபரை அவர்களுடைய பரிசுத்தமான ஆலயத்திலே பட்டயத்தினால் கொன்று, வாலிபரையும் கன்னியாஸ்திரீகளையும் முதியோரையும் விருத்தாப்பியரையும் தப்பவிடவில்லை; எல்லாரையும் தேவன் அவன் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

17. So he brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans, who slew their young men with the sword, in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or virgin, elder or ancient, all, delivered he into his hand.

18. அவன் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் பெரிதும் சிறிதுமான பணிமுட்டுகள் அனைத்தையும், கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் பொக்கிஷங்களும் ராஜாவுக்கும் அவன் பிரபுக்களும் இருந்த பொக்கிஷங்களுமாகிய அனைத்தையும் பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுபோனான்.

18. And, all the utensils of the house of God, both great and small, and the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king and of his rulers, the whole, carried he to Babylon;

19. அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தைத் தீக்கொளுத்தி, எருசலேமின் அலங்கத்தை இடித்து, அதின் மாளிகைகளையெல்லாம் அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரித்து, அதிலிருந்த திவ்வியமான பணிமுட்டுகளையெல்லாம் அழித்தார்கள்.

19. and they burned the house of God, and threw down the wall of Jerusalem, and, all the palaces thereof, burned they with fire, and, all the precious vessels thereof, he destroyed;

20. பட்டயத்திற்குத் தப்பின மீதியானவர்களை அவன் பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைபிடித்துப்போனான்; பெர்சியா ராஜ்யபாரம் ஸ்தாபிக்கப்படுமட்டும் அங்கே அவர்கள் அவனுக்கும் அவன் குமாரருக்கும் அடிமைகளாயிருந்தார்கள்.

20. and he exiled the remnant left from the sword, into Babylon, where they became his and his sons, as servants, until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:

21. கர்த்தர் எரேமியாவின் வாயினாலே சொன்ன வார்த்தை நிறைவேறும்படிக்கு, தேசம் தன்னுடைய ஓய்வு வருஷங்களை இரம்மியமாய் அநுபவித்துத் தீருமட்டும், அது பாழாய்க்கிடந்த நாளெல்லாம், அதாவது, எழுபது வருஷம் முடியுமட்டும் ஓய்ந்திருந்தது.

21. to fulfil the word of God, by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had paid off her sabbaths, all the days of her lying desolate, she kept sabbath, to fulfil seventy years.

22. எரேமியாவின் வாயினாலே கர்த்தர் சொன்ன வார்த்தை நிறைவேறும்படி, பெர்சியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய கோரேசின் முதலாம் வருஷத்திலே கர்த்தர் பெர்சியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய கோரேசின் ஆவியை ஏவினதினாலே, அவன்: பரலோகத்தின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் பூமியின் ராஜ்யங்களையெல்லாம் எனக்குத் தந்தருளி, யூதாவிலுள்ள எருசலேமிலே தமக்கு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டுவிக்கும்படி எனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கிறார்.

22. But, in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, to accomplish the word of God by the mouth of Jeremiah, Yahweh aroused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made proclamation throughout all his kingdom, moreover also in writing, saying:

23. அவருடைய ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரிலும் எவன் உங்களுக்குள் இருக்கிறானோ அவன் போகட்டும், அவனுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவனோடிருப்பாராக என்று பெர்சியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய கோரேஸ் அறிவிக்கிறார் என்று, தன் ராஜ்யம் எங்கும் எழுதியனுப்பி விளம்பரம்பண்ணினான்.

23. Thus, saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth, hath Yahweh God of the heavens, given unto me, and, he himself, hath laid charge upon me, to build to him a house, in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people with whom is Yahweh his God? Then let him go up.
