1. ரூபன் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முதற்பிறந்த சேஷ்டபுத்திரன்; ஆனாலும் அவன் தன் தகப்பனுடைய மஞ்சத்தைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தினபடியினால், கோத்திரத்து அட்டவணையிலே அவன் முதற் பிறந்தவனாக எண்ணப்படாமல், அவனுடைய சேஷ்டபுத்திர சுதந்தரம் இஸ்ரவேலின் குமாரனாகிய யோசேப்பின் குமாரருக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.

1. Now the sons of Ruben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was his firstborn: but forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his first birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel, and he was not accounted for the firstborn.

2. யூதா தன் சகோதரரிலே பலத்ததினால் ராஜாதிபத்தியம் அவன் சந்ததியில் உண்டானது; ஆகிலும் சேஷ்டபுத்திர சுதந்தரம் யோசேப்புடையதாயிற்று.

2. But of the race of Juda, who was the strongest among his brethren, came the princes: but the first birthright was accounted to Joseph.)

3. இஸ்ரவேலின் முதற்பேறான ரூபனின் குமாரன் ஆனோக்கு, பல்லூ, எஸ்ரோன், கர்மீ என்பவர்கள்.

3. The sons then of Ruben the firstborn of Israel were Enoch, and Phallu, Esron, and Charmi.

4. யோவேலின் குமாரரில் ஒருவன் செமாயா; இவன் குமாரன் கோக்; இவன் குமாரன் சிமேய்.

4. The sons of Joel: Samaia his son, Gog his son, Semei his son,

5. இவன் குமாரன் மீகா; இவன் குமாரன் ராயா; இவன் குமாரன் பாகால்.

5. Micha his son, Reia his son, Baal his son,

6. இவன் குமாரன் பேரா; ரூபனியரின் பிரபுவான இவனை அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய தில்காத்பில்நேசர் சிறைபிடித்துப்போனான்.

6. Beera his son, whom Thelgathphalnasar king of the Assyrians carried away captive, and he was prince in the tribe of Ruben.

7. தங்கள் சந்ததிகளின்படியே தங்கள் வம்ச அட்டவணைகளில் எழுதப்பட்ட அவன் சகோதரரில் தலைவர் ஏயேலும், சகரியாவும்,

7. And his brethren, and all his kindred, when they were numbered by their families, had for princes Jehiel, and Zacharias.

8. யோவேலின் மகனாகிய சேமாவுக்குப் பிறந்த ஆசாசின் குமாரன் பேலாவும்; இவன் சந்ததியார் ஆரோவேரிலும், நேபோமட்டும், பாகால்மெயோன்மட்டும் வாசம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

8. And Bala the son of Azaz, the son of Samma, the son of Joel, dwelt in Aroer as far as Nebo, and Beelmeon.

9. கிழக்கே ஐபிராத்து நதிதொடங்கி வனாந்தரத்தின் எல்லைமட்டும் அவர்கள் வாசம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவர்கள் ஆடுமாடுகள் கீலேயாத்தேசத்தில் மிகுதியாயிற்று.

9. And eastward he had his habitation as far as the entrance of the desert, and the river Euphrates. For they possessed a great number of cattle in the land of Galaad.

10. சவுலின் நாட்களில் ஆகாரியரோடு அவர்கள் யுத்தம்பண்ணி, தங்கள் கையால் அவர்கள் விழுந்தபின், அவர்கள் கூடாரங்களிலே கீலேயாத்தின் கீழ்ப்புறமெல்லாம் குடியேறினார்கள்.

10. And in the days of Saul they fought against the Agarites, and slew them, and dwelt in their tents in their stead, in all the country, that looketh to the east of Galaad.

11. காத்தின் புத்திரர் அவர்களுக்கு எதிரே பாசான் தேசத்திலே சல்கா மட்டும் வாசம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

11. And the children of Gad dwelt over against them in the land of Basan, as far as Selcha:

12. அவர்களில் யோவேல் தலைவனும், சாப்பாம் அவனுக்கு இரண்டாவதுமாயிருந்தான்; யானாயும் சாப்பாத்தும் பாசானில் இருந்தார்கள்.

12. Johel the chief, and Saphan the second: and Janai, and Saphat in Basan.

13. அவர்கள் பிதாக்களின் வீட்டாராகிய அவர்கள் சகோதரர், மிகாவேல், மெசுல்லாம், சேபா, யோராயி, யாக்கான், சீகா, ஏபேர் என்னும் ஏழு பேர்.

13. And their brethren according to the houses of their kindreds, were Michael, and Mosollam, and Sebe, and Jorai, and Jacan, and Zie, and Heber, seven.

14. These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Hurl, the son of Jara, the son of Galaad, the son of Michael, the son of Jesisi, the son of Jeddo, the son of But.

15. கூனியின் குமாரனாகிய அப்தியேலின் மகன் அகி, அவர்கள் பிதாக்களின் வீட்டுத் தலைவனாயிருந்தான்.

15. And their brethren the sons of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house in their families,

16. அவர்கள் கீலேயாத்திலிருக்கிற பாசானிலும், அதின் வெளிநிலங்களிலும், சாரோனின் எல்லாப் பேட்டைகளிலும் அவைகளின் கடையாந்தரங்கள் மட்டும் வாசம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

16. And they dwelt in Galaad, and in Basan and in the towns thereof, and in all the suburbs of Saron, unto the borders.

17. இவர்களெல்லாரும் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோதாமின் நாட்களிலும், இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் நாட்களிலும் தங்கள் வம்சத்து அட்டவணைப்படி தொகை ஏற்றப்பட்டார்கள்.

17. All these were numbered in the days of Joathan king of Juda, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18. ரூபன் புத்திரரிலும், காத்தியரிலும், மனாசேயின் பாதிக்கோத்திரத்தாரிலும் கேடகமும் பட்டயமும் எடுத்து, வில்லெய்து, யுத்தத்திற்குப் பழகி, படைக்குப் போகத்தக்க சேவகர் நாற்பத்துநாலாயிரத்து எழுநூற்று அறுபதுபேராயிருந்தார்கள்.

18. The sons of Ruben, and of Gad, and of the half tribe of Manasses, fighting men, bearing shields, and swords, and bending the bow, and trained up to battles, four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore that went out to war.

19. அவர்கள் ஆகாரியரோடும், யெத்தூர் நாப்பீஸ் நோதாப் என்பவர்களோடும் யுத்தம்பண்ணுகிறபோது,

19. They fought against the Agarites: but the Itureans, and Naphis, and Nodab,

20. அவர்களோடே எதிர்க்கத் துணைபெற்றபடியினால், ஆகாரியரும் இவர்களோடிருக்கிற யாவரும் அவர்கள் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டார்கள்; அவர்கள் யுத்தத்திலே தேவனை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு, அவர்மேல் நம்பிக்கை வைத்தபடியினால் அவர்கள் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டருளினார்.

20. Gave them help. And the Agarites were delivered into their hands, and all that were with them, because they called upon God in the battle: and he heard them, because they had put their faith in him.

21. அவர்கள் இவர்களுக்கு இருந்த மிருகஜீவன்களாகிய ஐம்பதினாயிரும் ஒட்டகங்களையும், இரண்டு லட்சத்து ஐம்பதினாயிரம் ஆடுகளையும், இரண்டாயிரம் கழுதைகளையும், மனுஷரில் லட்சம்பேர்களையும் பிடித்தார்கள்.

21. And they took all that they possessed, of camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men a hundred thousand souls.

22. யுத்தம் தேவனால் நடந்தபடியினால் அநேகர் வெட்டுண்டு விழுந்தார்கள்; தாங்கள் சிறைப்பட்டுப்போகுமட்டும் இவர்களுடைய ஸ்தலத்திலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

22. And many fell down slain: for it was the battle of the Lord. And they dwelt in their stead till the captivity.

23. மனாசேயின் பாதிக்கோத்திரத்துப் புத்திரரும் அந்த தேசத்தில் குடியிருந்து, பாசான் தொடங்கிப் பாகால் எர்மோன் மட்டும், செனீர் மட்டும், எர்மோன் பர்வதமட்டும் பெருகியிருந்தார்கள்.

23. And the children of the half tribe of Manasses possessed the land, from the borders of Basan unto Baal, Hermon, and Sanir, and mount Hermon, for their number was great.

24. அவர்கள் தங்கள் பிதாக்களின் வீட்டுத் தலைவராகிய ஏப்பேர், இஷி, ஏலியேல், அஸரியேல், எரேமியா, ஒதாவியா, யாதியேல் என்பவர்கள் பராக்கிரம வீரரான மனுஷரும் பேர்பெற்ற தலைவருமாயிருந்தார்கள்.

24. And these were the heads of the house of their kindred, Epher, and Jesi, and Eliel, and Esriel, and Jeremia, and Odoia, and Jediel, most valiant and powerful men, and famous chiefs in their families.

25. அவர்கள் தங்கள் பிதாக்களின் தேவனுக்குத் துரோகம்பண்ணி, தேவன் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக அழித்திருந்த தேச ஜனங்களின் தேவர்களைப் பின்பற்றிச் சோரம்போனார்கள்.

25. But they forsook the God of their fathers, and went astray after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.

26. ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவன் அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய பூலின் ஆவியையும், அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய தில்காத்பில்நேசரின் ஆவியையும் எழுப்பினதினாலே, அவன் ரூபனியரும் காத்தியரும் மனாசேயின் பாதிக்கோத்திரத்தாருமாகிய அவர்களைச் சிறைபிடித்து, இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் இருக்கிறதுபோல, ஆலாவுக்கும் ஆபோருக்கும் ஆராவுக்கும் கோசான் ஆற்றங்கரைக்கும் கொண்டுபோனான்.

26. And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Phul king of the Assyrians, and the spirit of Thelgathphalnasar king of Assur: and he carried away Ruben, and Gad, and the half tribe of Manasses, and brought them to Lahela, and to Habor, and to Ara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.
