1. ரூபன் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முதற்பிறந்த சேஷ்டபுத்திரன்; ஆனாலும் அவன் தன் தகப்பனுடைய மஞ்சத்தைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தினபடியினால், கோத்திரத்து அட்டவணையிலே அவன் முதற் பிறந்தவனாக எண்ணப்படாமல், அவனுடைய சேஷ்டபுத்திர சுதந்தரம் இஸ்ரவேலின் குமாரனாகிய யோசேப்பின் குமாரருக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.

1. And the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn; but, inasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; but the genealogy is not registered according to the birthright,

2. யூதா தன் சகோதரரிலே பலத்ததினால் ராஜாதிபத்தியம் அவன் சந்ததியில் உண்டானது; ஆகிலும் சேஷ்டபுத்திர சுதந்தரம் யோசேப்புடையதாயிற்று.

2. for Judah prevailed among his brethren, and of him was the prince, but the birthright was Joseph's),

3. இஸ்ரவேலின் முதற்பேறான ரூபனின் குமாரன் ஆனோக்கு, பல்லூ, எஸ்ரோன், கர்மீ என்பவர்கள்.

3. -- the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Enoch and Phallu, Hezron and Carmi.

4. யோவேலின் குமாரரில் ஒருவன் செமாயா; இவன் குமாரன் கோக்; இவன் குமாரன் சிமேய்.

4. The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,

5. இவன் குமாரன் மீகா; இவன் குமாரன் ராயா; இவன் குமாரன் பாகால்.

5. Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,

6. இவன் குமாரன் பேரா; ரூபனியரின் பிரபுவான இவனை அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய தில்காத்பில்நேசர் சிறைபிடித்துப்போனான்.

6. Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-Pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.

7. தங்கள் சந்ததிகளின்படியே தங்கள் வம்ச அட்டவணைகளில் எழுதப்பட்ட அவன் சகோதரரில் தலைவர் ஏயேலும், சகரியாவும்,

7. And his brethren by their families, in the genealogical register of their generations, were: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,

8. யோவேலின் மகனாகிய சேமாவுக்குப் பிறந்த ஆசாசின் குமாரன் பேலாவும்; இவன் சந்ததியார் ஆரோவேரிலும், நேபோமட்டும், பாகால்மெயோன்மட்டும் வாசம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

8. and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, as far as Nebo and Baal-meon;

9. கிழக்கே ஐபிராத்து நதிதொடங்கி வனாந்தரத்தின் எல்லைமட்டும் அவர்கள் வாசம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவர்கள் ஆடுமாடுகள் கீலேயாத்தேசத்தில் மிகுதியாயிற்று.

9. and eastward he dwelt as far as the entrance to the wilderness from the river Euphrates; for their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

10. சவுலின் நாட்களில் ஆகாரியரோடு அவர்கள் யுத்தம்பண்ணி, தங்கள் கையால் அவர்கள் விழுந்தபின், அவர்கள் கூடாரங்களிலே கீலேயாத்தின் கீழ்ப்புறமெல்லாம் குடியேறினார்கள்.

10. And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents throughout the east side of Gilead.

11. காத்தின் புத்திரர் அவர்களுக்கு எதிரே பாசான் தேசத்திலே சல்கா மட்டும் வாசம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

11. And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan, as far as Salcah:

12. அவர்களில் யோவேல் தலைவனும், சாப்பாம் அவனுக்கு இரண்டாவதுமாயிருந்தான்; யானாயும் சாப்பாத்தும் பாசானில் இருந்தார்கள்.

12. Joel was the chief and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

13. அவர்கள் பிதாக்களின் வீட்டாராகிய அவர்கள் சகோதரர், மிகாவேல், மெசுல்லாம், சேபா, யோராயி, யாக்கான், சீகா, ஏபேர் என்னும் ஏழு பேர்.

13. And their brethren according to their fathers' houses were Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jaachan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.

14. இவர்கள் ஊரிக்குப் பிறந்த அபியேலின் குமாரர்; ஊரி என்பவன் யெரொவாவுக்கும், யெரொவா கீலேயாத்துக்கும், கீலேயாத் மிகாவேலுக்கும், மிகாவேல் எசிசாயிக்கும், எசிசாயி யாதோவுக்கும், யாதோ பூசுக்கும் குமாரராயிருந்தவர்கள்.

14. -- These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz:

15. கூனியின் குமாரனாகிய அப்தியேலின் மகன் அகி, அவர்கள் பிதாக்களின் வீட்டுத் தலைவனாயிருந்தான்.

15. Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was chief of their fathers' house.

16. அவர்கள் கீலேயாத்திலிருக்கிற பாசானிலும், அதின் வெளிநிலங்களிலும், சாரோனின் எல்லாப் பேட்டைகளிலும் அவைகளின் கடையாந்தரங்கள் மட்டும் வாசம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

16. And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the pasture-grounds of Sharon, as far as their limits.

17. இவர்களெல்லாரும் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோதாமின் நாட்களிலும், இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் நாட்களிலும் தங்கள் வம்சத்து அட்டவணைப்படி தொகை ஏற்றப்பட்டார்கள்.

17. All these were registered by genealogy in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18. ரூபன் புத்திரரிலும், காத்தியரிலும், மனாசேயின் பாதிக்கோத்திரத்தாரிலும் கேடகமும் பட்டயமும் எடுத்து, வில்லெய்து, யுத்தத்திற்குப் பழகி, படைக்குப் போகத்தக்க சேவகர் நாற்பத்துநாலாயிரத்து எழுநூற்று அறுபதுபேராயிருந்தார்கள்.

18. The children of Reuben and the Gadites and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men who carried shield and sword, drawing the bow and skilful in war, were forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty, able to go forth to war.

19. அவர்கள் ஆகாரியரோடும், யெத்தூர் நாப்பீஸ் நோதாப் என்பவர்களோடும் யுத்தம்பண்ணுகிறபோது,

19. And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab;

20. அவர்களோடே எதிர்க்கத் துணைபெற்றபடியினால், ஆகாரியரும் இவர்களோடிருக்கிற யாவரும் அவர்கள் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டார்கள்; அவர்கள் யுத்தத்திலே தேவனை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு, அவர்மேல் நம்பிக்கை வைத்தபடியினால் அவர்கள் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டருளினார்.

20. and they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them, because they put their trust in him.

21. அவர்கள் இவர்களுக்கு இருந்த மிருகஜீவன்களாகிய ஐம்பதினாயிரும் ஒட்டகங்களையும், இரண்டு லட்சத்து ஐம்பதினாயிரம் ஆடுகளையும், இரண்டாயிரம் கழுதைகளையும், மனுஷரில் லட்சம்பேர்களையும் பிடித்தார்கள்.

21. And they took away their cattle: their camels fifty thousand, and two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, and two thousand asses, and a hundred thousand human souls.

22. யுத்தம் தேவனால் நடந்தபடியினால் அநேகர் வெட்டுண்டு விழுந்தார்கள்; தாங்கள் சிறைப்பட்டுப்போகுமட்டும் இவர்களுடைய ஸ்தலத்திலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

22. For there fell down many slain, for the war was of God. And they dwelt in their stead until the captivity.

23. மனாசேயின் பாதிக்கோத்திரத்துப் புத்திரரும் அந்த தேசத்தில் குடியிருந்து, பாசான் தொடங்கிப் பாகால் எர்மோன் மட்டும், செனீர் மட்டும், எர்மோன் பர்வதமட்டும் பெருகியிருந்தார்கள்.

23. And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan as far as Baal-Hermon and Senir, and mount Hermon; they were many.

24. அவர்கள் தங்கள் பிதாக்களின் வீட்டுத் தலைவராகிய ஏப்பேர், இஷி, ஏலியேல், அஸரியேல், எரேமியா, ஒதாவியா, யாதியேல் என்பவர்கள் பராக்கிரம வீரரான மனுஷரும் பேர்பெற்ற தலைவருமாயிருந்தார்கள்.

24. And these were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, and Jishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.

25. அவர்கள் தங்கள் பிதாக்களின் தேவனுக்குத் துரோகம்பண்ணி, தேவன் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக அழித்திருந்த தேச ஜனங்களின் தேவர்களைப் பின்பற்றிச் சோரம்போனார்கள்.

25. And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.

26. ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவன் அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய பூலின் ஆவியையும், அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய தில்காத்பில்நேசரின் ஆவியையும் எழுப்பினதினாலே, அவன் ரூபனியரும் காத்தியரும் மனாசேயின் பாதிக்கோத்திரத்தாருமாகிய அவர்களைச் சிறைபிடித்து, இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் இருக்கிறதுபோல, ஆலாவுக்கும் ஆபோருக்கும் ஆராவுக்கும் கோசான் ஆற்றங்கரைக்கும் கொண்டுபோனான்.

26. And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, -- unto this day.
